Lardo - Gastropub in Mexico City, Mexico
Best meal I had in CDMX. We shared the ceviche (next level), croquettes (perfecto), ensalada verde and octopus alongside a serving of the sea bass. All phenomenal, as was the dessert (tarragon ice cream ?!??). Highly recommended.
Just delicious and beautiful! I would love to bring all of my friends here! And best negroni Ive ever had!!
One of the best restaurants in Mexico City! (it’s hard to fail in Mexico City in terms of food, right?!)Lardo has a lot of great vegetarian option, it’s Mediterranean Restaurant and it’s always busy, sometimes you need to stay in the line, make sure you make the reservation beforehand. The foods are tasty, the desserts are also great! I love their hummus and tiramisu.
Wonderful spot in a beautiful part of mexico city. Wife and i visited for brunch and dinner. Prices are very affordable and service and food are amazing. The staff is mostly bilingual which was a big help to cater to any food allergies. Plan to return before we have to return home. Also do yourself a treat at dinner and order a carajillo to finish dinner, it is similar to an espresso martini that is in a level all its own. Never tasted anything better dessert drink wise.
We arrived late from our flight and many restaurants didnt have availability but Lardo had a table for us at 9:45pm. We shared the Parma ham croquettes (slightly dry), stuffed zucchini flowers (nice), ceviche (fave), artichoke, roasted eggplant/burrata (not bad), octopus, lamb kebab (was just minced meat in a tortillaand the chocolate mousse (nice). However, none of the dishes stood out and as theres so much good food in CDMX, Id give this place a miss.
We came for Sunday Brunch based on all the reviews. We had to wait for 1 hour to get in. It was really busy. The restaurant is beautiful and decorated really nice. The portions were really small especially the Smoked Salmon Benedict. Two of our kids were starving. The juices were also tiny. Crocke Madam was excellent.Overall we were disappointed by the whole experience. The price/food ratio was lackingService was really good. But at times, I felt that we were being rushed so our table could be used for others.
Enjoyed dinner at Lardo last night. We sat at the bar instead of eating outside. Reservations are recommended. Staff was great, food was amazing. Good wine options, squash blossoms were absolutely amazing, salad with citrus was full of flavor and the barbacoa was delish. Highly recommend!
Theres not much more add to the many five star reviews, but I will make this recommendation: go with a friend, or go alone, and sit at the bar and watch the kitchen prepare meals for everyone. The skill, preparation, cleanliness, and expertise will entertain you as you enjoy your delicious meal.
We had a wonderful experience at Lardo! We went on a Friday morning around 10am and it was quite packed already, but we were able to get a table at the bar after 10 min or so.Most of the staff spoke a little English so we were able to order easily. They were also able to recommend some items for us to try. We tried the pastries, some entrees, coffee and juices. All were absolutely wonderful and so affordable. With tip, we spent about $30USD for the two of us.Overall, great place to visit - so green, so calming, such a charming oasis in the city!
Lardo is a staple in the Condesa neighbourhood. There will always be a bit of a wait if you don’t book ahead but it’s well worth it. Great atmosphere and even better food! I can probably come for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and still not be bored. You should also never leave Lardo without having a dessert so make sure you order accordingly to be able to do so or take one home! You won’t regret it!
This place was incredible! We waiting for 30 minutes on a Sunday at noon- it was well worth the wait. We had mimosas, lattes, fried egg with salami, and the tomatoes and goat cheese quiche. The quiche was incredible, mind altering, I entered a new plane of existence.
We spent 4 days in Mexico City, and this place made the best mezcal margaritas by far. We honestly stumbled upon it after landing late from NYC, and walked right in (sat at the barand got to watch the kitchen make everything. I am so impressed with this restaurant I think everyone should come here if they make a stop in CDMX. Not only we’re the drinks amazing, the food was insane as well. We got the fried rice with seafood, and while that might not sound like anything special, I can tell you it was. Pictured is also the lamb dish - all of it was amazing. We wanted desert, because they all look like they came out of a French restaurant, but were too full!
Beautiful place. The location is perfect and the food is outstanding. The stafff are really welcoming and give excellent recommendations. Definitely worth trying.
We order the eggplant. But it taste raw and weird. The waitress told us they knew the eggplant wasn’t ready for cook today. I mean… if you know your food aren’t ready, you shouldn’t have served it. Very disappointed. Won’t come back.
Good variety of breakfast from eggs and to cereal and pastries. Pretty big roast beef sandwich and croque madame with nice cheese flavor
Great place for ambiance and good vibes. The place is always bustling but the staff are great. Food is delicious and Im glad I stopped by!
Great service and attention to detail throughout the dining experience. The food was very delicious and beautiful, too.And while not a reason to pick a restaurant while in CDMX, they are well prepared for English-speaking guests.
The first time I went to Lardo was in 2018. Almost 4 years have past and finally, made it back to Mexico City. Of course I had to go back and enjoy their delicious food and very welcoming staff.
Brilliant location. If a Coffee and Sweetbreads are your craving this place is top notch. They also serve an incredible suite of breakfast options with a strong local flavor. Be ready to be surrounded by foreigners from all over the world. The atmosphere and service are both exceptional.
The best restaurant in Mexico. It would have 8 out of 5 stars, if possible. Service, food & atmosphere all superb.Recommend a table at the bar, in front of the kitchen, fascinating watching a highly trained team all working in unison. There was no Gordon Ramsay style shouting just supportive team work!!All the food was immense from the starters to the mains to the desert.Highly highly recommend booking a table 2 or 3 days in advance. There are always queues outside. It’s worth coming to Mexico City just for the food here. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
Our favorite brunch in Mexico City! Delicious, beautiful pastries, good vegetarian breakfast options, buzzy and fun! Get there early to put your name in and walk around the neighborhood while you wait.
Nice brunch spot that gets very busy. We waited about 1.5 hours on a Friday before we got seated. The menu is pretty simple with mostly breakfast items and pastries. Everything was delicious and not over priced. I’d come back if the wait wasn’t too long but it’s definitely worth the experience if you haven’t been here yet.
One of the best restaurants in the Condesa area. Food is delicious guys dont hesitate more and go now. If you want to taste a Mexican flavor ask Chilaquiles with fried eggs on top. Yummy yummy. You can take breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Solid 4.5 stars!Wait was 30 minutes for a table around 9:45 AM on a Saturday. The atmosphere is nice inside and the service is pretty excellent.I ordered the croque madam and a fruit pastry and a latte. The croque madam was delicious, with a perfectly cooked fried egg and a great sandwich underneath. The pastry is very tasty as well. Latte was good but unfortunately it was not very hot, it came out last even after the food. The small negatives: not hot latte served last, I also asked for the bill three times and waited 10 minutes for the check.
Very popular brunch spot in Condessa. Had to wait a bit at 9:30am on a Tuesday but it went by quickly. Highly recommend the pastries (we had lemon/ricotta and guavaand fresh juice! I also had a zucchini and scrambled egg dish that wasn’t my favourite. Would recommend!
Just love this place and for us is definitely a 5-star rating. The food is amazing and staff very efficient and friendly, thank you! Great atmosphere and is definitely the best restaurant we have eaten at in Mexico City!!
Really good food, coffee and desserts! But without a reservation the waiting time can be really long. The offert us an table at the bar (15minwaiting time. The tables were all booked out.Luckily one table was canceled while we were waiting for the bar. So if you want to enjoy this lovely food, better make an reservation. :)
I dont understand why there is such a huge line of people waiting, mist of the food is tasteless, this dish, is horrible, even the bread was dry and not tasty at all. Will recommend NOT to go there! Any other cafe will be way better. Or just go for the pastries which ar
First food stop in México city and it was amazing. All these dishes were so different yet so delicious. Awesome vibe too, and sitting at the bar, you get to see the food being made. Staff was very friendly and attentive and the place was packed for early dinner time.
Loved this place! Gorgeous little restaurant with a beautiful aesthetic. The cute little bakery on the end with the fresh loaves of bread on display, the vintage styled plateware, and all the lush plants around the exterior really make the atmosphere. Waited almost no time at all to be seated, even during the lunch rush (though it was a Mondayand all the waitstaff were super friendly, and provided excellent recommendations from the menu. I also really appreciated all the open air, not just because it was pleasant, but for covid safety - and I really was grateful to see all the staff in masks and face shields. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome food, good service. Good prices. I’d recommend to people visiting the city.
This place is a must if you are in CDMX. The chef adds a twist to everything and the Flavours are nothing close to run of the mill. They are explosive, unique and mouth watering. You can’t go wrong with the Ceviche (with passion fruit and mangothe Paperdelle, and Mille feuil carrot cake! Add a sipping tequila and you have an incredible meal.
Food is really delicious, great coffee, great bread and crispy & tasty freshly baked croissants. My only issue was that the queue to get in is very long. Is it worth waiting 1hr to get in? Probably not. But if u manage to eat there without waiting or you go earlier and get seated - the food is great.
I think the place is worth the hype. Cocktails and the food were right on point! Octopus, artichoke salad & lentil soup were amazing. Just make sure you make a reservation beforehand if going on a weekend as the line can get really long.
We ordered the octopus and ceviche. We found the octopus was ok, flavour was fine, but it was quite tough.. The ceviche was very disappointing; it lacked flavour and we ended up leaving most of it. Orange wine was nice. Margarita was average. Dont really understand the queues outside.
A trendy little spot in Condesa that offers both local specialties and global flavors, with an emphasis on a extensive bakery menu! Come early if you want a table or be prepared for a long wait during brunch hours; early bird gets the worm (or in this case, the chilaquiles!).I highly recommend the above-mentioned dish, which comes with salsa verde, burrata and nopales. The tarragon bread and the scrambled eggs in all their forms are also delicious, as well as the coffee.
Usually when a place is crowded, its good. We went here for brunch, waited about 20 minutes then had a seat outside. I ordered scrambled eggs with zucchini and a matcha drink. Relatively satisfied with the food and service.
I arrived in La Condesa, Mexico City very late due to a massive flight delay. I wasn’t able to eat at all that day so I was hungry yet doubtful that restaurants would still be open. Thankfully, Lardo was one of the few places open at late hours (kitchen closes at 10:30pm on Fridaysso I walked over and ordered whatever stood out to me on the menu.I ordered the Green Salad with pine nuts vinaigrette, Parma ham croquettes, and Lamb kebab and yoghurt. The lamb kebab comes in the form of 2 tacos, which I didn’t realize. Salad and croquettes were good, but the lamb was just okay. Reasonable prices. The vibe of the restaurant is chill, darkly lit but welcoming interior with diners who seemed like professionals in their late 20s and 30s, some were older. Overall I was happy with the experience.
Some of the best food I’ve had in Mexico, a top 10 pasta for me too. I highly recommend Lardo, this is world class restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere. The pappardelle with ragú was incredible. 🍝
Really cute spot. 10/10 service - best weve had so far. Our waiter was really attentive, funny and he helped us get some vegan options (off menu The best coffee weve had as well!We had the lavender scone, which was unreal as well as the choco, raisin and walnut bread.Known for their pastries, they have a great selection inc vegan + GF.For our main we tried the baked oatmeal and they made us a sandwich of rocket, aubergine, avo, tomato etc... Very accomodating!Would recommend. Lovely modern decor with flowers and plants everywhere 🌿💮
we only got the guava pastry for takeout and it was INCREDIBLE! One of the best bites of pastries we had on CDMX. Generous guava compote, not too sweet, and lovely creamy cheese center ¡Que riquísimo!
Lardo was one of my favorite Mediterranean places in Mexico City. It has some delicious dishes and a cool atmosphere even though we were seated outside but still surrounded by plants. The only thing that would further improve is the quality of the service. It took a while for some dishes to come and one of the waiters mistakenly said they didn’t have the bruschettas we wanted but the other waiter fixed it
Great place! The service is super quick and the food is absolutely wonderful. There was a queue, but we were lead to our seats within 5 mins. Both inside and outside is nice. We’ve had the Croque Madame, Fruit with Granola and a Roll de Guayaba.Recommend!
Amazing food and service. Was a bit hectic getting a seat without reservation but worth wait. Mezcal tonic was great, and beet salad perfect size.
The food is tasty and service is superb. We came early around 9am without a reservation and there are tables. However, it is a very loud place perhaps on the weekend. It was a little unpleasant that it was so busy and loud sitting outside.
We were hesitant to sit at the bar as that was the only place offered to us without reservation. But really, we didn’t regret a moment once we sat down there. First of all, excellent personnel. Second, great food options. We went for the kebab and the hamburger as we had too many Mexican dishes before we came and both were excellent. Main surprise is the dessert; definitely take the berry Mille Feuille. Absolutely one of the best desserts I have had in some time. Astonishing. Also, while you are there, try the Mexican red wine. It was hard to find a Mexican wine but it’s worth the wait. If we visit Mexico City again we will return to Lardo for sure. Many thanks for the enjoyable evening.
Cute restaurant with great atmosphere and service. The huitlacoche gruyere purslane pizza is the best fusion pizza I’ve ever had for a long time. Not a fan of wagyu barbacoa as it had no flavor. Grilled octopus flavoring is pretty good. Save some appetite for desserts as they will blow your mind. I’ve never had a carrot cake Mille-feuille and it turned out to be a gem. Rhubarb tart tasted like a mini pie, you can really taste the layers. In general we are very happy with our dining experience here.
Probably closer to 3-1/2 stars. Some of the food was blander than needed. I had the pulpo which was cooked quite nicely. Very tender and not rubbery. Service could use some improvement, but they were pretty good. Beautiful location and nice outdoors seating
Such a hip European style restaurant. Service was excellent including waiter recommendations. Our dishes were traditional style dishes but with a local flare. All of which were excellent full of flavor and of quality ingredients which we enjoyed sharing amongst us friends to try the variety of dishes. Top quality dishes along with the perfect European vibes paired to perfect cocktails by the bartender. Will definitely return to this fantastic restaurant. Cheers.
Phenomenal restaurant. Everything we ordered was to perfection and prices were also reasonable for such a nice place. We had a guava roll with cappuccino and hot chocolate to start. I had the Verde Chilaquiles and my partner had the tomato stew with a fried egg. We also has a Verde juice which was good but wasnt the main attraction to be honest. We will certainly be back soon!
