Excellent museum with everything very well presented and explained in multiple languages. Very nice restaurant on site but quite pricey although lovely surroundings.

Impressive museumLarco is an impressive archeological museum. They tell you the story of Peru, starting with pre-inca civilizations. Its impressive the collection they have. And its also impressive to think that was in private hands.You can take your time to read all the explanations and admire the pieces. At least when we went, it wasnt packed with tourists.When we were there, there was a temporal exhibition about erotic pre-inca art. Very curious :)

Beautiful museum! The information was presented in about 6 different languages, which made it easy to explore the whole thing without a guide. Definitely have lunch in the cafe, it’s fantastic. And make sure you don’t miss the erotic pottery section, super interesting!

I loved it. Such an excellent understanding of Peruvian cultural history can be learned so deeply here through seeing the incredibly crafted artifacts on display spanning 5000 years.

One of the best museums of Lima! Should be the first in the MUST SEE list for all tourists visiting this city. It is a small private museum with absolutely unique collection of archeological artefacts of the preincaic Peruvian culture.

Incredible collection of pre-columbian art and artifacts. Just as impressive and informative as more well known exhibits of Egyptian antiquity. (Erotic exhibit is not kid friendly, so avoid that section or plan accordingly).

Good Museum and allow about 40 minutes to enjoy the visit. There is also a restrauant on site which we had a lunch time meal which was enjoyable. The staff were friendly and all spoke English.

What an exceptional experience. First step into the entrance was overflowing with beautiful flowers, but there were more gorgeous flowers throughout. The musuem was a nice size and well thought out collection. A glimpse into the Peruvian culture and arts was more understandable with this presentation. Dining at the restaurant is a must, the stunning atmosphere and good food. Overall a very memorable time. Worth the cab ride just to see this museum.

Interesting facts about the history of Peru, well displayed in different thematic rooms. Included with the ticket you can visit the storage of the museum, something I never had the chance to do in any other location. There you can see thousands of artifacts.

A great collection of precolombina art. Just the building itself, a colonial mansion, is worth the visit, this is a beautiful oasis in the city. Do not miss the erotic gallery in the bottom.There is a gorgeous restaurant in the museum, we heard the food was very good.

I have two teenage boys who are much more into outdoor adventure than visiting museums. However, we felt like we should visit at least one museum during our trip to Peru and picked the Larco Museum. It was a great choice and we all really enjoyed it. The collection is very impressive and displayed in an easy to appreciate manner. Signs are provided in 6 languages including English for each display. In addition to the collections, the grounds themselves are quite nice. We spent about 2 hours there in total. We took Uber from our hotel both directions, which was very easy. There were a decent number of people there, but it was not crowded at all.

Very interesting and with many old artifacts. I wanted to know not just the history of the artifact, but also the story of how it was found. There MANY old pottery pieces.The gardens were beautiful.

Loved this museum! We visited with a private tour guide and I would definitely recommended doing so! She was so extremely knowledgeable and we learned so much! Also loved their beautiful restaurant. Would definitely recommended this museum to anyone visiting the area and wanting to know more about the history of Peru.

Fantastic museum! I could spend hours in here. There is so much to learn about Pre-Columbian cultures in Peru and this is a great place to get started. I would recommend a guided tour if you can get it, if not there is so a lot of information provided to you about every section and artefact that it will be worth it either way.

Wonderful experience, there is so much to learn. I recommend blocking off 2-3 hours so that you can take it all in. I love how there were multiple languages available to read at each exhibit. The gift shop is great too.

Great way to initiate your knowledge on the different historic cultures rooted in Peru. Beautiful building and gardens as well. We were lucky with some sunshine and blue skies for once

What a Great surprise!! This is the first time we visited. Spectacular and magical place. Beautiful setting at night. It needs just a little bit work on the food but because of the setting we are giving 5 starts

A wonderful trek though a breathtaking collection of more than 45,000 pieces of South American history spanning millennia and civilizations. Everything from ceramics to textiles to weapons to funerary bundles containing real mummies to ceremonial assignments: theres really too much to cover in one day.Pro tip: try to set up a guide to walk you through the museum and fill in the gaps and make your trip doable in an hour or two. For a guide try Lima Tours (they offer tours in English and Spanish and transportation to and from your hotel)!

A very comprehensive showcase of all the cultures that come before Spanish invasion. Not all of the descriptions has English translations but it should not be a problem for none Spanish speakers to understand most of the background. The most interesting of course is the erotic section of the wing. Fascinating stuff. 😉

Beautiful pieces of Peruvian and Inca history and how the Spanish conquistadores affected the traditional art. Gold and silver ornaments and jewelery, ancient ceramic pottery. Very nice flowers.

Please go here. Really informative about pre-Columbian history and the museum has really beautiful gardens. The explanation for each exhibit is provided in multiple languages so non-Spanish speakers can still learn a lot visiting this museum.

Best museum I visited in Peru. Its a must go when in Lima. Entrance is more expensive, 35 soles, but its worth it. The museum cafe is excellent! Take your time to have lunch or a coffee there.

Amazing museum in a beautiful building with an amazing restaurant. You can find some incan and pre incan artifacts here that are carefully curated. The museum is not big but I felt like i saw more than enough.Theres an entire room filled to the brim with incredible pottery. Theres also an entire building dedicated to erotic art. Its probably the biggest collection of erotic art that Ive ever seen. If youre in Lima and you want to visit a museum, this is a must visit.

One of the best tourist places both for foreigners and those of us who live here. It has things that show how broad our Peruvian culture is. The infrastructure, the content of the museum and even the restaurant are very well done.In my opinion, you should go once to get to know and live the experience that the museum service can offer you.

Very educationally rich museum for those interested in the history and culture of Peru. Guided tours ( including ones in Englishare promoted and available, but even exploring it yourself is easy as every display has explanations in English, French, German, Japanese. Museum is surrounded by lush tropical gardens with the museum cafe that serves amazing Peruvian food at moderate prices, the setting is beautiful, enjoy the food and cocktails there. Staff is very friendly and speak English. Highly recommend spanking few hours there

What a great treasure of Peru, rich in pottery from many past societies on Peru soil. We paid for the 1 hour guided tour in English, which was thorough, then dined at the good restaurant on premise. Note the primary museum is above in the main building; the erotic artifacts are separate, down below off the courtyard. The tour and museum ticket covers both.

An amazing collection of artifacts. Over 3000 years of Perus history and heritage on display for visitors to appreciate! The experience of going through this museum was enlightening and humbling. I am so glad I visited here!

This is a mind numbing treasure trove..... literally. The amount of fascinating well preserved antiquities here is jaw dropping. And thats even before you get to the shelved collection stacked to the ceiling...or the sexy art rooms downstairs.

Itd be nice to have guided visit for context and better understanding of preuvian pre Hispanic history. The artefacts are well displayed but lacks the human commentary.

Small but very nice museum. They have a wonderful collection of Peruvian artifacts and good descriptions of all. The erotic section was very unique and interesting. Admission was very reasonably priced, the grounds are beautiful and its a great place to get out of the intense mid-day sun!

An interesting museum with a beautiful garden and an AMAZING restaurant. The restaurant is of a higher price but the food is incredible. I am already planning on coming back again! Best food I have had during my 3 months in Latin America.

I like it but I wish they would offer the guides at the entrance. By the time we figured they had guides we had wasted 30 mins and the front desk lady said it was over an hour wait for a guide.

Must see museum, my favorite in Lima. The grounds are beautiful, located in an 18th century casona, with a gorgeous garden and wonderful bouganvillas all around. The main collection is comprised mainly of pottery and some metal work organized by different precolombian periods. It is well explained and offers a good introduction to precolombian history and cultures for the visitor. I would recommend 2 - 3 hours for this small but wonderfully curated museum. The erotic huacos are great fun as well.

Amazing museum! It should be in the top of your list when visiting Lima and you should definitely hire a tour guide given that every bit of information is fascinating! Our tour guide Andrea was so knowledgeable and very friendly.We then went to the restaurant in the museum and the food was amazing!They were able to cater to me given my dietary restrictions (vegan).Melissa, our server was the highlight of the night! She was so nice and professional. She really made the experience that much better.In summary:- Dont leave Lima without getting a guided tour of the museum- The staff is fantastic- Would be a romantic thing to do with a partners- Cater to dietary restrictions, including veganism

Amazing place to spend a great time learning about the Inca culture and relaxing time at the restaurant/cafe. Special attention to Israel, the waiter who not only does his job amazingly but his carisma and friendliness made us to feel welcome and relaxed. Great historical museum of indigenous populations. I learned a lot of great context before my visit to Cusco. Make a reservation at the beautiful cafe for a refreshment before or after your visit.

The Larco Museum was great. Its not a big muse but its very well curated with a lot of information to go through. It takes approx 3 hours for a detailed view of the museum (reading everything).There is also a special room with special pieces thats a bit separated from the main area that you should not miss but not sure if smaller children are supposed to go there.There is also a small cafe inside with good drinks but food is just ok.

For me, this is one the most impressive, informative museums in the world. So much to learn about not only Incas but the pre-Incan civilizations who were established a thousand plus years before the Spanish conquest. Allow time to appreciate all that is here and explained in multiple languages. The beautiful grounds are a welcomed respite in the center of the bustling Lima metro. Enjoy a meal or drink in the lovely Cafe. 😍 Chill. Dont forget the erotic gallery which gives some insight to life in pre-Columbian times. Enjoy!

Amazing museum, building and cafe. One of the best museus Ive ever been. It has a variety of Incas artefact and pieces. The building is very charming, full of flowers and the cafe is very unique.

Museo Larco is located on a beautiful property which is a beauty by itself. It has a large collection of pottery, jewelry and ornaments. Check out the storage area too which is open to public. The erotic galery is really interesting and unique. Do try the restaurant which serves really great food.

It is a very nice museum. Here you can admire a beautiful collection of ceramics that date back before the so called discovery by Columbus. Additionally, the museum is located inside a beautiful colonial mansion. The garden with all its plants is worthy in itself. Definitely, a good way to explota part of the rich history encountered on the Peruvian territory. They also have a restaurant. As always in this type of locations it is overpriced but never the less the atmosphere is beautiful. If you can afford it just do it.
