Lapin - French restaurant in Luzern, Switzerland
Lapin in Luzern
Description
Privilege
my chicken dish was very salty. Normal prices. good atmosphere, traditional decoration, slow service.
MoreNice restaurant, ok food but expensive and the staff is not reachable. We were waiting a lot to get finally notice.
MoreWas overall pretty good until the end. Our waiter was busy so another waitress brought us the bill. I paid with a card and there was a problem doing the NFC. The waitress snatched the card reader, tossed it back to me, and when I was gonna try the NFC again, she smacked my card away, took it, and slid it into the chip ready pretty angrily. She had given no instruction to avoid the NFC the second time. I know there are cultural differences, but that seemed extremely rude regardless. I was as courteous as possible to her and my waiter the whole night so it really seemed to come out of nowhere and with no explanation whatsoever. Completely soured the experience. There are plenty of other nice restaurants in Luzern so no reason to spend your money here.
MoreFood was so good! Excellent service! Steak was amazing! Cooked to perfection!
The service was great and there was great care to attention. The interior was perhaps a bit dark to my taste - but it is not of concern as nothing felt out of place.Rabbit ragu was well cooked and served with a delicious deglazed sauce (which never felt bland/greasy!). There were a few bones here and there and it affected my enjoyment of the dish to an extent. The lime risotto however, was a bit of a shock as I had expected it to function as a main course - however it was served with roasted cantaloupe and pineapples, while the lime was overpowering which turned the dish into some sort of a weird dessert. In general, Lapin is a wonderful place to have a nice and quiet French cuisine in Lucerne.
MoreGreat food. Great service!
Exclusive menu and service
We enjoyed the food however we were really disappointed with the service here. After rejecting the water (bcus we were heading to a drinks place afterthe service became alittle more unfriendly and we noticed that on every table there were complimentary sourdough bread however we did not receive any at all. Was really disappointing bcus we were really excited for this meal :(
MoreLovely traditional meal, big portions. The only downturn was they were a bit busy and forgot our order, for which they rectify and offer us salads and starters until they sort the order. Staff was very friendly and good service. Would recommend to try the traditional menu
MoreThe food was very delicious! Our waitress was so lovely, kind, and welcoming. Very worth the price point.
MoreGot the course meal today. Everything was good except the mains. The mains:1. My Veal had 2 medallions, the first piece was pretty good but the second piece was really tough and dry. I raised this to the service staff. The manager later came to explain that the pieces came from the hip of the animal, but the 2 pieces to me were like night and day.2. My wifes chicken was wrapped with cream cheese and ham. The ham was very salty and really made it unpalatable. From the first bite, we knew this was salt laden and not appetising. We did not raise this to the staff as we thought it could be just us not used to the palate here. What could be improved is really the service recovery. After sending back my main with the dry veal, it seemed like the staff became less friendly, almost passive aggressive. All we gave was feedback and things seemed semi-hositle. I dare not think what it would have become had I reported my wifes overly salty dish as well.We did not need any replacement of our dish and only raised feedback, but the service after that left a sour taste.
MoreSuperb food and excellent service.
High quality food and service. We will be back. Merci
Went in blind not knowing much about the restaurant and was overjoyed by the food, atmosphere, and experience. Liene was exceptional with her courteousness and recommendations and would happily come back. The fig gratin is an absolute highlight.
MoreFabulous food in a lovely atmosphere with a great range of wines, the staff were friendly and efficient, I would highly recommend!
MoreA very nice cozy place! The food is good quality and delicious, both meat and fish were excellent, best traditional Luzerner Chügelipastete we ever tried. The service was super fast, friendly and funny. Only a pleasure to come back once again.
MoreEnjoyed this lunch, relatively fair prices, recommended!
Besides excellent disches and service, the care for wine by the glass offers great wines with a system, that does not open the bottle and have the full taste. Often in restaurants, open vine is of poor quality because bottles remain open for a longer time and loose all but the alcohol. This is one of the rare restaurants that offers great vine with great taste.
MoreWe had hay soup for the first time. Very Swiss yet innovative to help revive an old tradition. Great food and service.
MoreExcellent foodMore than amazing staffPerfect service!
Really nice meal here. Comfortable and beautiful space. A nice children’s menu and classic foods served with some interesting twists. Everyone working was attentive and friendly.
MoreExcellent mix of traditional and international food
Delicious food, great service and super friendly people! Highly recommended!
The setting is quite nice. Its a mostly wooden and old fashioned place with a lot of attention to detail. The tablecloths, napkins, and plates all have the restaurants rabbit logo printed on them which is a nice touch. The beef tartare was very nice. It was well flavoured and slightly spicy. The toast and flavoured butter that went with it was also delicious.Unfortunately the main course wasnt as good. The Luzern small chicken was flavoured nicely, but was slightly dry. The duck breast was even more dry and very tough. The white wine risotto was quite salty.(Also note that tap water is CHF 3 per person here)
MoreGreat restaurant with quality meals, in a nice place, with a nice service. Great to eat Swiss meals going a bit beyond the usual cheese stuff.
MoreWe really enjoyed the food, wine and service. A great choice for dinner.
Nice restaurant. We were not allowed into the main hall, because of some "community",as waiter said, and we were seated in some inner hall which was very simple and had no windows. The food, however , was delicious. They have a day menu in addition to the regular one which is much cheaper. We had a pork stake with French fries, Liver with kinda pressed french fries and some swiss national dish made from same pressed french fries and covered by cheese and tomatoes. I know it sounds boring, but all dishes were really tasty.
MoreOriginal restaurant with a homely interior and friendly staff. I really like their salad buffet. The flambéed skewers that they prepare at your table are amazing!
MoreA genuine piece of Switzerland in an area that is changing swiftly. Good food, great service, reasonable prices (for Switzerland).
MoreVery good restaurant and definitely worth the price. Enjoy something flambé directly on your table or on of the awesome Lucerne specialities they offer. If you are in Lucerne this of definitely one of the culinary places you should check out.
MoreAwesome swiss traditional food. Also decently priced considering the location in the center of town!
MoreI was just there for lunch on a Sunday during which most shops in the city are closed. Despite what the name of the restaurant suggests, they serve Swiss fare/a mix of German/Swiss/French. I was greeted and served by Sandra and she recommended the sirloin steak with white asparagus and spring potatoes since I indicated I have had a lot of veal and did not feel like having that, or fish. The food was outstanding and the steak was cooked to perfection and very well-seasoned. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and beautifully furnished. The servers were attentive, courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend this place for those who want a comfortable dining experience!!!
MoreThis was a wonderful and friendly restaurant with Swiss style dishes done in a simple but elegant way. On addition to a nice beer and liqueur list, they have a good selection of wines. The asparagus soup was creamy and springy, the Fritschipastete or meat pie had a light flaky crust and hearty meat filling, the pan fried veal liver was tender and savoury and only a little of an iron taste. The trout was well cooked and flavourful. The theme of the restaurant will also put a smile on your face, and I highly recommend.
MoreNice ambience, food not bad but great service. Location just across from Lindt chocolate shop so ideal to get some. Within easy distance to shopping mall so very convenient location.
MoreThe food is delicious...very high quality and the staff is lovely..very friendly..We had an amazing time..We absolutely recommend this place to everyone
MoreGreat we had the best food and beers!!! Service amazing
Great atmosphere and the decoration is lovely. Polite and helpful service. The food is very delicious and also plentiful!I love the Geschnetzeltes with veal and the cordon bleu oozed a lot of cheese after the first cut.Lapin, keep up staying great!
MorePoor service and the food served wasnt upto the mark. The lady serving us was too boastful.
MoreSuper nice restaurant with fantastic food and warm service. Would definitely recommend it to others.
MoreThis was probably my all-time most favorite restaurant ever! If it were in America I would have an addiction problem! Everything about this experience was nothing short of phenomenal. We did make reservations, based on other Yelper reviews and were told upon our arrival that they were completely booked for the evening. The wine list was extensive and contained so many top notch choices you couldnt go wrong. We opted to have the Valpolicella Ripasso, DOC, Capitel della Crosara, Montresor Valpolicella which was superb. I enjoyed the Potatocreamsoup with salmon chunks is the middle, topped with a cream swirl. Their butter served with their bread was a savory slightly sweet and herbal soft blend. For dinner I had the Pan fried char-filet, fabulous fish plate...it was a crusted filet with a soft lemon flavor over perfectly seasoned kale with basmati rice. I was so full but the food was so delicious I had to eat it all! If take away were an option I would have taken the rest back to my hotel but I wasnt going to leave it on my plate!Small Chicken from Luzcerne roasted on their grill was what my daughter enjoyed and her white wine risotto was delicious. My husband had the Traditional Cordon-Bleu which was also quite tasty and his vegetables may have been the best Ive ever had with brussel sprouts that seem to almost melt in your mouth.I reiterate we were full BUT if dinner were this good we HAD to try the dessert, so we did. My husband had the Homemade speculatius Tiramisu which was the best of them all. I had the Créme Brulée from White chocolate which had a thicker consistency more like a pudding and was ok. The Homemade vanilla croissant parfait glacé is what our daughter had and it was a little different than expected.Service was great, they were attentive and took great care of us.All in all the amazing meal & great service. Well done Lapin! Whenever come back we will be coming again.
MoreWe had a very nice meal at the restaurant. The staff was friendly and always there.
MoreGreat ambience and very good service. Food is good.
Lapin was one of our best food experiences in Lucerne. Deer medallions were perfect cooked and with great flavor and the Fritschipastete from Lucerne was excellent. Great service. Definitely recommend this place.
MoreBest Restaurant in Luzern....... no doubt!!!!!Please come..... service was great and friendly.... food was fantastic... the fish was amazing fresh and nicely cooked...
MoreSmall, cozy restaurant with very good staff. Limited vegetarian options but food is tasty.
MoreThis place was just phenomenal. The food was really good. I think unique dishes bursting with flavor. I was excited to eat every bite of my food.Waitress was excellent, too. Really friendly and out of her way to explain the dishes to us in English.
MoreGreat place for traditional and local food. The Cordon Bleu was excellent and really worth the money. The staff was very attentive and polite.
MoreHad dinner at this restaurant on 27th July 2016 with a tour group. The service was horrible. Never ever have I been treated so coldly. They put the group in a conference room away from the main restaurant and served us a meal that does not appear on the menu. It was horrible and not close to 4 star at all. The whole group left and rather had Mc Donalds.Do not do this for extra money. If this is not your standard do not give it to a paying group of customers from all over the world.Worse restaurant I visited on my whole tour of Europe.
MoreAmazing food, great service, excellent historical ambience, and reasonably priced (for Switzerland). Highly recommended.
MoreBest meal of our entire honeymoon - and we visited 5 countries. Appetizers, meal, desert and wine were phenomenal and service was lovely - super nice bartender, server, and manager.
