Lansdowne Hotel in Dublin

Hotel needs a major upgrade, definitely overpriced. Floorboards are creaky, bathroom needs updating and windows definitely need to be upgraded.When we arrived we were looking for something to eat but were informed that the restaurant was closed on the weekends. Even though it was a bank holiday weekend, and local bars and restaurants were crowded for the marathon. Breakfast was not eatable, far too greasy. When offered coffee and toast we only received half a cup each and one slice of toast each. When showering, the soap/shampoo ran out, this should not happen, should be refilled after every stay.We stayed here four years ago thats why we returned. It has gone downhill. Will not be returning

Didnt stay here, but went for their "The Irish House Party Dinner and Show". Dinner was delicious, and the show was great fun for the whole family.

Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and clean hotel. Handy for the city, with a pub attached. Reception, Carmen, very pleasant and helpful.

We were having function there and decided to stay over residents bar closed at 9 told us go to two pubs up the road they messed up the food we ordered and argued over time function was to fin even they had the time in book they were adamant it was wrong . No complimentary water in bedrooms had to go to reception to buy water at €1.50 a bottle get 24 from Tesco up the road for €6 and an air con machine that looked out of the 50s

Nice place nice people nice location great beer & food

Needs TLC. Old carpets, plumbing lacked pressure. Bathrooms would benefit from updating. The place otherwise has lots of character and the staff is lovely. Nice pub on site.

I had bad sleep room no AC some machines make noise trugh whole night.

Always loved the Landstown. Super service +staff.

We went for dinner and live music. Had a great night! So much fun.

The only reason that i gave 2 stars was because the rooms dont have ac and me and my partner struggled to sleep…also during the day was impossible to stay in the room because was so hot we couldn’t breathe…the room was clean the size of the room was good enough but the tv was too small and very high to watch. The staff was friendly and helpful…i don’t think i will stay again in this hotel

We ended up only staying one night at this hotel and I’m kind of glad. The hotel is need of a major upgrade. Our room did not have AC and there is a bar right outside the window. We had an early day the next day and did not get great sleep because of all the noise. The carpet in the rooms is old and needing to be replaced. The bathtub is a nice size though. They also were kind enough to hold our bags because we arrived early in the morning. This was not a great place, but it was a bed and it was clean.

Avoid! You can find accommodation elsewhere for the same price.We had so many issues staying here, to name a few:- no drinking water in the hotel (just weird)- construction work from 8am which also cut the power to our room- the room hit 35 degrees with no air-con, when we asked to move all they offered was a cheap fan (which I had to rebuild because they put it together backwards). We couldn’t open the windows because they build scaffolding in front of it.- the food downstairs had rotting lettuce in itGenerally I’m shocked they’ve stayed in operation, if we’d stayed more than 1 night we would have checked out and gone elsewhere…The staff were generally lovely but nothing can fix the hotel.

130+ euro for a single bed in a terribly dated room is not great.Staff were all very friendly and the location is perfect with easy access to the city but nicely tucked away from the noise.

Hotel room was very basic for price we paid, small and cramped. We were denied parking on arrival for ‘tents’ that were coming, instead a man at the front desk advised us to park on the street telling us we only had to pay until 6pm that evening and we were covered until Monday morning. The following morning, after checkout we went to the car only for it to be clamped. An additional €125 we had not budgeted for. I over heard another couple in the same situation. Very poor advice from the hotel , also false advertisement as they had advertised parking on hotel grounds! The outdoor bar had extremely slow service, we left after waiting 20 minutes for drinks.. we had a great night elsewhere in dublin but will never be staying here again.

Lovely room, really enjoyed the Irish night, reception could have been more welcoming.

Great hotel in leafy Dublin 4. Hotel abit dated but will be definitely staying again.

We did not stay there we went for a dinner and a show. So I cannot comment about the rooms. Some of the service we received was exceptional. Even though the show advertised that they would "GLADLY" call transportation for us this was hardly the case. The gentleman at the reception desk was not glad about calling taxi service for everyone who attended the show. He had a very cold attitude about the whole issue as if we were a burden. He even went so to admonish us for not ordering transportation before the show ended (as if we could predict this). The show itself was marvelous! The food ok but basic. And its my personal opinion that sugar free/diet soda mixers have no business in alcoholic drinks.

My group had a great meal and saw a great show “The Irish House Party” here. Would recommend to anyone visiting Dublin from abroad.

It was a bit of a last minute booking and I was so lucky the staff were so helpful.Most of the hotels in Dublin were fully booked and my online reservation didnt get through to the hotel but they were so helpful and were able to sort out a room for the night.Friendly and helpful staff and the hotel is in an outstanding location thats close to Ballsbridge, Aviva stadium and the city centre.I will defo stay here again ☺️

Basic accomodation in a really good central location. Rooms are small but have everything you need. There isn’t really an area you can sit and chill out in.

A good stay for the affordable price. Rooms were clean enough although the surrounds such as the window frames and water damage could be looked at. Decent value for money in an area where accommodation can get extremely expensive. Good for budget travellers

Lovely time at the landsdown hotel on the 3/4/22. I was attending a family fuction. Food was really good. I asked for chicken without sauce and the waitress called natalia had no problem asking the chef. Very nice girl. Actually all the staff were really nice and hotel was very clean. Thankyou.

I didnt like the hotel so much.. Rooms were small and no extra facility was given to guests as they didnt gave the water because they said its 3 star so we dont give any facility. TV was also very small. But may be in this budget in Dublin you will this type of hotel. Best part was its at walking distance from AVIVA STADIUM 🤓 and yeah rooms were clean.so I am giving 4 star.

Just had dinner at The Lansdowne Kenmare, excellent service from Kevin and Kasha in the newly refurbished restaurant/bar. Good variety on the menu, great value but most of all the food was fantastic.

Sat outside in the front/car park area, nice friendly waitress came and took our order, only draw back was there seemed to be a lot of bee/wasps in this area near the catering cabin buzzing around, not wanting to be stung in an epic battle over a pint of cider with these angry two winged little mofos > we decided to move on.Otherwise all was great and will be back on match days

Rooms were clean and comfortable, loved the large rainfall showers. Entertainment, food and drinks were excellent. It is the unbelievable staff that make this place though, very attentive, welcoming and just good craic. Mairead in particular was fantastic but the staff in general here are excellent.

When we were checking in the receptionist asked was there just two of us as she had a double room ready (we had booked a triple room as it looked more spacious). She had assured us the double room was the same size just without an extra bed. We were confused as to why the room we booked wasnt ready/available as this was after check-in time, but we hesitantly agreed. When we got to the room it was tiny, with dated décor and a very creaky floorboard under the carpet. We had paid a lot for a single night and this room was just not good enough. We headed straight back down to reception to ask about the triple room (the room we paid for). The receptionist snapped at us saying "Thats what I ask ye, ye said there was only two of ye and the room is the exact same". She eventually agreed to get a triple room ready (again the room we paid for!and after a twenty-minute wait, we arrived at our new room. It was easily double the size of the first one, although it still didnt justify the hiked-up prices.When we came back to the hotel that night (not that late, maybe around 9pmwe inquired about the possibility of food in the bar, to which we were told the kitchen was closed. We ordered two drinks to take away to the room. I ordered an Islands Edge as it was advertised on literally every table in the bar. But the waiter looked at me as if I had just ordered some exotic, rare cocktail from another world.That night was one of the worst nights sleep weve ever had. There was roaring and shouting from outside all night and early morning and at points it sounded like people were roaring right outside our door. The room, while really clean and tidy, had a really cheap feel to it.We paid a lot of money for a single night and it really wasnt worth it. We couldnt recommend to anyone

I booked the Lansdowne Hotel for one night, however I would not describe it as a hotel but rather a motel. The stay was very disappointing and the staff were quite unhelpful. I asked could my large luggage be kept at reception whilst I was out for the day and they refused to accommodate this at all. The room I stayed in was dated and did not feel clean. Breakfast was left outside the door in a brown paper bag consisting of out of date yoghurt (10 days old), an apple, OJ, a small bag of muesli and milk pods all to be served in a brown paper container and finally a cold, stale pastry at a cost of €8.

Reminds me of spending the night at Grandmas house. Its cozy and warm, but dated and broken in. Nothing about it is modern, but its very conveniently located, affordable, and it gets the job done. If youre looking for lots of amenities, really nice beds, or anything fancy, this isnt the ideal spot for you. Its a good place for singles or couples, but if you have kids or a family or a group, you should certainly look elsewhere.

Ive eaten at many a pub.This was the best bar food Ive ever eaten. Soup of the day, vegetable, delicious and a bargain at 4 euro. Special of the day lamb shank, huge feed, great meat, tasty tasty sides and plenty of those too. Absolutely cracking service all evening and lovely pints. Ideal.Hotel wise great value and location. Some noise from proximity to the stairs but again for the money in this location its decent. Great stay all in all.

This adventure was very good. We did the Traditional Dublin Irish House Party dinner and show. Meal was all the wonderful flavors I would expect in a typical Irish meal and the servers were excellent. I would give it 5 stars but we got very board waiting for the entertainment to start. Dinner was not that complex or detailed and should not have taken 90 minutes.The entertainment was awesome. If you like to get involved and participate no need to sit up front for that(but maybe a little more funthis musician team gets everyone singing and clapping. There is even a dace floor for those who wish to break out a few Irish dance moves!Overall a very fun night!!!

Great location and proximity to various embassies, the arena and several business, which are all within an easy 15min walk. Room has all the basics one needs. I would have liked an elevator for getting my heavy bag.to my room, but it is a charming older building and they do not have an elevator (lift).

We found it a very comfortable place to stay during our holidays. The staff was very helpful and made sure we had a pleasant stay. A special thanks to Simone for being so caring and adding more joy to our visit in Dublin.

A great hotel in a great location with lots of transport options, rooms are good, the building itself is very beautiful and traditional, and the service was really good. Staff was very helpful and friendly, Simone hosted us and was always caring and available at any time! The bar and restaurant downstairs were also lovely, really beautiful places to be! Will definitely come back to the Lansdowne Hotel next time Im in Dublin!

The old hotel doesnt look like munch when you enter the corridors, but the rooms are very well appointed, their bathroom as well with heated towel rack and good showed with pressure and hot water. The bed is comfortable, though Ive had better, and the shampoo is not the best for your hair, but the quality of the room mixed with the comfortable "Homely" feel of the rest of the hotel (pub, food, etcis all very nice. Very good place to stay as long as you arent looking for extreme posh.

Have only beer here for pre/post match drinks. The atmosphere is great. BBQ and bars outside in the car park with the main bar open too if you prefer to stand inside. Staff are always friendly. A good meeting spot before heading to the Aviva or off to town.

Rooms were small, but clean. Front desk was very accommodating throughout the stay and friendly. Shower pressure and temperature is great, and love that it isnt a curtain. Parking isnt included and is pretty expensive for not that primo of a spot, so factor in an extra $13 /day. About a 30 min walk to Dublin center, but there are lots of pubs and cafes closer as well. TV is super small and really only there for show, but who cares to watch TV when on vacation.

Great place to stay. Reminiscent of the Georgian era in which it was built but with most modern conveniences, however there is no lift so upper rooms require stair climbing. Friendly, helpful staff to make your stay enjoyable. I would stay there again. The "Irish House Party" in the same building is one thing I would recommend you do while staying at the Lansdowne Hotel.

At the cheaper end of the scale for Dublin. Clean warm and tidy. Comfortable room. Quiet, no noise in my room from pub below and set back from street. TV very small but thats picking holes. Fine if you want a cheap clean room for a night or two.

I wouldnt stay here again. Location is good and the rooms are mostly clean but the beds were pretty horrible and lopsided. They need to be changed out. We had two twins and they both sloped downward on one side each. It made for a very uncomfortable sleep, which, in my opinion, is the most important aspect of a hotel. We were up 5 flights, so if you have an issue climbing stairs, request lower level.Management was just OK, not even 2 star service. We paid over $500 for two nights and we really would have done better with a hotel outside of the city a bit.Restaurant staff and bartenders were amazing! Thats about all.

We attended the Irish House Party with three course meal for my sisters 21st. The staff were all lovely. Big thank you to Brendan, and the lady with short hair who managed the meal (and made delicious bread and of course the band who were fantastic. We had a brilliant time and would recommend the experience

Nice, Clean room. A little bit on the small side for the two of us, but we didnt mind. Good location close to downtown, but far enough to be relatively quiet at night. The only downfall is that you have to pay for your breakfast in the morning. Concierge was friendly and helpful.
