Super beautiful, you start trekking with jungles and rivers & your end point will be all mountains and skies. Went for a week and love it!Its a shame that its a nice national park park, but you can see that its not really being taken care of (some place can see trashes everywhere).

I trekked to langtang this June. It was not the suitable weather so, tourists were so few. Hence, I enjoyed it the most. I suggest all of you to book hotels in advance also, have some sea buckthorn juice, yak cheese and some local alcohol.

So much to do and see at Langtang National Park. You can hike or helicopter into Kyanjin. The hike to Kyanjin is part of the experience and highly recommended. If you have bad knees be prepared with braces/meds. As my guide said, lots of “up, up, up”. I had a guide and porter and that made a world of difference!

It was an amazing experience trekking at Langtang National Park. I was born and raised in Nepal but never hiked high Himalayas before. I was so excited and felt so proud of myself trekking on my own and as a foreigner. I loved every moment of it. Bus ride was little torturing but I still loved the ride. I got few blisters on my feet but I did not pay attention to it. The views as I go up help all the pain. Someone said "no pain no gain".

First trekking of my life😍😍 it was simply amazing. You will see 360° view of mountains.Langtang Valley is amazing. Kyanjin Gompa is the last place with hotels. Local people are so helpful. You get fresh n good Nepalese food. Blue sky, clean water of Langtang river👌👌You are going to love it. Dont carry much luggage, food is available. You may carry high calorie but low weight foods such as energy bar, dry fruits and ORS is the most needed thing. You cant compromise with the quality of shoes. Knee cap and trekking stick provide you great support

It was established in 1976 to conserve the unique flora and fauna of the region. It is the nearest national park of the capital Kathmandu in the Central Himalayan Region. The 1710 sq. km. of the park extends over parts of Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok districts in the southern mountainous terrain of the Nepal-China (Tibetborder. In 1998 an areas of 420 sq. km in and around the park declare as a buffer zone. The park represents a meeting point between indo-Malayan and Palearctic realms, and holds a rich biodiversity. Buffer zone management is a joint venture between the park office and the local communities. Local communities have a decision-making role in the management of such areas. Additionally, the local communities or the BZ receive 30 to 50 % of the park revenue for the better management of natural resources to ensure a sustainable supply of resources and community developmentClimate: September through May offers a variety of natural splendors, from lush temperate river valleys with screeching langur to spectacular old growth forest and glacial-craved cliffs rimmed by snow-covered peaks. The weather is also relatively dry except January-February when one may come across snow.Autumn is the best time to visit the Park. By April bursts of red, pink, and while rhododendrons stretch into towering canopies of fir and oak forests. Advent of warm weather makes the Yak and Chauri herds ascend to higher elevation, making occasional camps in the pasturelands, to follow years of tradition. From June to august, skies are heavy with monsoon rains. During August, a lively festival at Gosaikunda Lake attracts thousands of Hindu pilgrims and September witnesses’ spectacular display of wild flowers, while livestock herds, once again, return to lower pastures.#ontopofamountain #yoga #meditation #camp

Had a great experience. Got a chance to closely feel the untouched beauty of nature. Langtang national park is so vivid and rich that on can observe the alpine forest, rhododendrons forest, coniferous forestto temperate grassland and cold desert. On the way to our trekking to GosainKunda we got a chance to observe lots of animals and feel change in weather. It is definitely worth travelling. If you are going on trekking to this area, it is worth noting the below point.1. Sudden change in altitude, more than 1000 metre in one day can result in Altitude sickness. So be prepared,2. Some trekking routes can’t be accessible in winter, better to consult with touring guide or company. Autumn is a best time to trek, sky are clear at that time so one can have good view of flora and fauna.3. Carry dry foods, most of the trek routes are tea house trekking however, houses are at least 3 hour from one to other.4. Hot water bottle will be very handy, replace your normal water bottle with hot water bottle.5. Schezuan pepper and garlic sill be very handy to fight with altitude sickness.6. Don’t compromise on shoes, they are life saver. Go and get good trekking shoes.7. Knife and lighter is must, insects repellent cream in sunscreen can’t be avoided.8. You can’t find the public toilet and rest areas here, nature is both, so be prepared for what you will need.9. Routes are difficult at times but the view from the top is worthy enough for the extra pushes.Enjoy your time and get lost in nature, its a pure experience which you won’t get anywhere else outside Nepal, I bet.

This is the trek which is very close yet so far from the capital, Kathmandu of Nepal. One of the beautiful trek it is. Amazing mountain views, deep valleys are always attracting ones attention. Hard not to take too many photos while youre walking. It is very short trek too. In 7 days you can finish the trek doing both Tserko ri 4,950m and Kyanjing To 4,770m. But if one wants to go to Godainkunda Lake at 4,400m might want to add couple more days and energy.

Amazing array of landscapes to trek through, beautiful people and less tourists than some of the more popular trails - be aware though that the ride from Kathmandu to here is approx 6 hours of extremely gruesome 4wd bounce-a-thon. Not recommended for anyone with neck or back issues shall we say...

The Langtang National Park is the oldest Himalayan national park of Nepal and lies just north of Kathmandu and stretches till the Tibetan border. Throughout the National Park there are three main trekking routes: Langtang Valley, Helambu and Gosainkunda Lake. The park is therefore often visited by trekking groups and individuals.Practical:Size: 1710 Km2Established: 1976Best Season: September - November and March - MayPark Main Entrance: DhuncheLocation: Central RegionClimateThe climate of Langtang is in someway similar to Kathmandu. September to October are the best months for trekking as the rain chance is small and the temperatures are comfortable. December to February are the coldest months of the year, which may lead to occasional snowfall along the way. March till May also provide comfortable temperatures, but the visibility is not as great as in the Autumn period. By the end of March/start of April the Rhodondendron begins to blossom. The red, white and pink rhodondendron flowers form a fantastic colour spectrum with the green firs and oaks.Flora and FaunaLangtang has a diverse landscape where a total of eighteen different eco-systems can be observed, ranging from the Sal and Pine forests in the lowland, to the rough and rocky alpine landscape at high altitude. The flora conists of 1043 species of vascular plants of which 13 species, such as the Rhododendron Cownianum, R. Lowndesii and Larix Nepalensis are endemic. A large population of these plants grows in the various large high meadows spread over the park. Tree species in the park include the Rhododendron, Laurel, Blue Pine, Sal and Castanopsis Indica.Within this rich flora, many animals have found there home. Forty-six mammals can be found in the Langtang National Park. Mammals to be found are the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Musk Deer and Himalayan Tahr. In addition 30 species of fish live within the park boundaries as well as 70 species of butterflies and 345 species of birds such as the Impeyan Pheasant, Ibis Bill, White-Winged Redstart and the Snow Patridge.Areas of InterestThroughout the Langtang National Park there are three main-trekking routes. These routes cover most different landscapes and also cover some cultural attractions. The main trekking routes are named: Langtang Valley Trek, Helambu Trek and the Gosainkunda Trek. The latter is also popular amongst local tourists as the Gosainkunda lake is religious site for Hindus. Hindus believe that the lake is an abode of lord Shiva. Lord Shiva himself has dug this like with his trident.ActivitiesLangtang is pur sang a trekking destination and is best visited as integral part of a trekking. For more details on Trekking in the Langtang area please visit our page on Langtang Trekking.AccessThere are several ways to reach Langtang National Park. The most common, and leading to the park headquarters, is through the Trishuli Highway by bus or private vehicle. You can take the bus to Dhunche or you can take the bus even further to Syabru Besi. Another way to get into the Langtang National Park is to head from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (Shivapuri National Parkand start your hike from here and walk into the National Park. Sundarijal is also the starting point of the Helambu Trek.
