We loved it. We were accompanied with reel birds lovers. There was great exchange of informations between the participants. The solar boat is just what is appropriate for that type of excursion. Great for birds lovers!
One of the best experiences ever. Easy booking system, helpful and informative staff. I booked for 4 hours but then extended for rest of the day as I enjoyed it so much. Seen lots of wildlife, flamingos spoonbills and curlews to name a few. You can stop on some wild beaches and sunbathe swim and relax.
This is an excellent tour. Its lovely to get out on the water and Andre was an excellent guide, full of information.
Great sunset trip. Solar boat enhanced the visit for sure. Host was knowledgeable and fun as well.Would highly recommend.
An excellant trip in a solar boat. Chico was an expert guide for spotting birds and diving lots of information. A great way to visit the Ria Formosa!
The birdwatching boat trip was excellent. Luis was a brilliant guide, and his knowledge of the Ria Formosa and the birdlife was really helpful. Getting so close to birds such as the Osprey and the Spoonbills was tremendous.I took another trip a couple of days later, and wasnt disappointed.
Excellent bird watching tour with Louis. Laid back, but very informative and provided us with a wonderful experienceA plus was the electric boat. Apart from being environmentally "correct," it was quiet so could actually hear the birds.Although we did see a variety of birds on Rio Formosa, one wonders how much more there would be without an intrusive airport right beside it, and a completely protected designation of National Park. Thank you Louis.
The tour was nice and relaxing, however, nobody informed us in advance, that the water is very low, and we cant go into the small canals. Also, as we booked online, there was no clear, visible info anywhere in the email, that we shouldnt wait for the boat at the place, where the tickets are sold, and all ferries depart, but in the marina. You should put visible info in the email. For 5 stars, I would expect to give us some extra, like free bottled water, or some info in advance, about what kind of birds we can expect to watch. Of course, I can read about it by myself, but in times, when everybody is busy, you should provide your customers with full care. I would give you 6 stars if you offer camera gear rental: at least the telephoto lenses for cameras. Many people have cameras but cant afford to buy an expensive telephoto lens. You can rent it, make money, and your customers may be able to make some photos of birds. Win-win situation. Still, I enjoyed the trip and think it is worth the money.
We did the 1 hour eco boat trip. The skipper was brilliant, keeping us informed along the way. Obvious he has a passion for the job and the area. Beautiful hour well spent. So relaxing
Amazing trip! Booked last minute so was very pleased to find something which suited our needs so perfectly! Skipper was awesome, the views were stunning and the price was competitive! 10/10
A lovely relaxing way to spend 2 hours just kayaking around the national park.
Fabulous tour. Our guide, Luis, was very knowledgeable and personable. We loved it — saw and learned about beautiful birds and learned about local maritime culture. Highly recommended.
Great solar boat, nice and knowledgeable guide, beautiful trip. We took a 3-hours private trip with birdwatching and swimming. The quietness of the boat feels like sailing and is a sharp contrast to the crazy jet skiers. The trip is pricy (€480and you need to realize that partly you sail directly under the airport landing route, but other than that it is a great way to enjoy this unique landscape.
A fantastic one hour trip around the park with a very friendly and knowledgeable captain! We saw storks, spoonbills, fiddler crabs, egrets and lots of other sea birds.
Excellent boat trip, saw some lovely parts of the Rio Formosa along with the sunset. Guide was very interesting and pointed out several birds that the area is home too. Perfect evening
A fantastic way to spend an hour watching the sun go down , the tour guide was so friendly and obviously loves his job , very informative without being loverbearingWould love to try some of the other cruises now
Excellent private birdwatching trip on a solar boat. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky to see a wide range of birds feeding on the mudflats.
I booked a one hour tour last minute as I was trying to see as much of Faro as possible in one day. I happened to be the only person but they took me out anyway. It was one of the highlights of my entire vacation. My guide was lovely and so good at pointing out different birds for me to see. They provide binoculars and a chart of different bird species. Exactly what I was looking for. Wish I had more time for a longer tour.
We had a great time. The guys were very informative.
This tour was great. Our guide Luis was so kind with us explaining everything about the place. It was a real pleasure ☺️Thanks also to Monica who helped us very kindly !
Luis was a great guide and our whole group found it to be an interesting and worthwhile.
It was a super nice experience. Watched some birds and the beautiful sunset 🌅 the guide was super friendly
Had a great time on this boat trip. Our tour guide was friendly and kept the trip interesting. I also really appreciated the fact that he was able to communicate with my group in English, and also the other groups on our tour in multiple languages. Highly recommend.
Excellent .. Amazing !Due to the solar drive we could manage to go very near to the birds 😀.Our guide was an expert and could explain all birds 🦅.
It was a great experience. The guide was very communicative and informative about the areas fauna and flora. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset (though not perfect weather and cold wind).
Had a wonderful Paddle with Luis in April 2022. He was a great guide, thoughtful and informative with humour. Paddling on the Rio Formosa is a great experience.
The sunset boat tour was delightful. Our guide spoke English very well and knew bits of Spanish, French, and even some German! He studied marine biology so he clearly had a passion for the wildlife in the area. He had a good sense of humor and provided a great tour on the boat at sunset.
Luis was a perfect guide for our birdwatching tour. He was very knowledgeable about the Ria and ready to answer any other question. A very nice person! Traveling with the quiet solar boat was an additional benefit. We absolutely recommend the tour.
The solar boats are excellent for touring the Formosa and my guide had expertise and great communication skills. Communication worked well. Great value for money
Luis was a superb and entertaining guide, he brought the Ria Formosa alive and shared not only his knowledge of ornithology with us but his wider knowledge of the region. Thanks Luis!!!
Barbara took us with her to a very nice Birding Trip. She has a great knowledge and can show you the birds you are looking for.We spent a fantastic morning.
Superb experience, and our guide Francisco was excellent and incredibly knowledgeable. Well be most certainly back!
I had a great 1 hour tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide on the solar boat, on which we discovered Ria Formosa. The boat even had binoculars on board, which helped to see all the different birds well.
The bird board used by the guide should exist with the bird names in different languages and perhaps one chart per participant.Being danish I knew only about half of bird names in english.
Had a wonderful time kayaking with Luis in Ria Formosa. He was very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the lagoon and we could tell his love for nature and the sea. We had a picture-perfect morning despite the recent rains in the Algarve, saw a great variety of birds, and did not want our kayaking tour to end.
I was due to leave Portugal that afternoon so took a last short boat tour, which was lovely. I loved the silent boat and the birds and the view of the Ria Formosa. Our guide was very friendly and helpful, giving useful information. It was a shame it had to end!
We did the 2,5 hour eco tour with Francisco. The guide has great knowledge and is a very pleasant person to have a conversation. The boot is equipped with binoculars and together this would rate a five star. However I was a little disappointed about the area and the trip. It looked that we just followed the mean channel to the sea and the number of birds was not special.
Very nice and friendly place to observe and enjoy "the other Algarve".We will return for sure to another quiet boat trip in Ria Formosa!!!!
Our guide was knowledge, patient, spoke amazing English and generally a great laugh. We had a great time and would highly recommend !
I rent a kayak for 2 and half hour. Everything is optional. Rental is 35€ and you have to add 10 euros for waterproof case and 8 euros for backseat. I never seen an higher price before.I didnt put one star because this thing are written on their website. It is not hide.Anyway, it remains extremely expensive.I would highly recomand to rent at least for half Day long or you will only see dirt and planes. Finally, If you rent for 2 and half hour, I would highly recomand to not follow their suggestion one their half plan because you will just lose some time. Its Still possible to reach the beach and be back in time if you go straight to the point.
Lovely trip on the beautiful Ria Formosa. Our guide paced it perfectly and it was great to get some of the history of the Ria Formosa and its islands and to have the fiddled crabs, heron, oyster catchers and other birds pointed out and their habits described.
A very pleasant day with a good open kayak. Many birds to see, like stork, aigrette, ducks, ...And Lands is the professional renting gears thatfor !!Nice explanations with a good plastified map... What else!
We had a great time kayaking at Ria Formosa. They recommend a tour you can follow with a map. We ended up with a bigger tour, because we had much time left.
We rented a kayak last week (first week of May), it is a great way to explore the Rio Formosa! And a good work-out too. I recommend at least half a day so you have the time to paddle through the salt marshes, and chill out at a beautiful beach on one of the barrier islands. The staff was friendly, and provided a map for the kayaking as well.
What a fantastic experience for us all, from booking to reception and the tour itself. Chico our tour guide was very informative and great fun! I highly recommend booking with Lands, super friendly, helpful and very professional.
The website proposes 4 places kayaks rental but at the office they refuse to rent it for 1 adult and 2 kids. The price is doubled with 2 kayaks. In addition, bad advice about the tide effects : we were always against the current: too hard for the kids. They should have proposed to delay the departure. Not so happy, then!
Read about "Lands" in Algarve tourist guide book - a little hidden in a shop offering other trips etc but clear on Google maps for location. Helped out straight away on request for kayak hire, just had to wait 5 or 10 mins whilst other trips departed but we hadnt booked - just turned up on spec. Kayak / paddles in great condition - felt quite stable whilst on water. Were given guidance on safe routes to take and a map to help us navigate. Fully enjoyed 2 1/2 hours out on the water. Thank you!
Good value kayak rental for the wetlands of Faro. Its a really interesting route from Faro town through the twisting marshes on the way to Faro beach. You have a low vantage point from the water so its tricky to maintain a sense of distance and scale, but since the only place you can end up is your destination youre at no real risk of getting lost. The agency are very good and provide a map and basic route advice. It was €35 for a four hour rental, which was enough time for a return trip, stopping for a picnic on a private beach about two thirds of the way.A great day out for those wanting to see something a bit different and who arent afraid to row for it.
Amazing tour, I strongly recommend this one over the more touristic ones.-The boat was quite small (max 6-8 peopleso we could go in small canals with a boat not being overcrowded.-~45 min tour with electric boat (very silent)-Amazing guide: biological student, passionate about the area and fluent in English & Portuguese.
Did kayaking to the deserted beach and back. Easy to use sit on canoes, girlfriend and i rented a 2 man kayak and it was great fun. 2 hours wasnt enough time to get to the actual beach and back so give it longer (recommend whole day if you can. We had to catch a flight in the afternoon unfortunately.
