LandVenture Travel - Tours in Andes, Colombia
My partner and I took two tours with LandVenture Travel and both were great. The Coffee Tour to Jardin with Andres was excellent. The visit to Jaimes coffee farm was superb - the lunch, the coffee picking. The whole area around there is so beautiful. I wish we could live there! Two days later we took the Guatape Tour with Juan who is equally as amazing. We elected to see Guatape on the day of our departure from MDE airport and were to the airport with plenty of time for our departure. It helped us to make the most of our visit to Medellin so inquire with them about that! Thank you so much, guys, we had a great time. We enjoyed meeting both of you and we hope we get to meet again someday!
My husband and I had a WONDERFUL time with Andrés, the day ended up being so much more than a coffee tour. A friend, who went on a tour with Andrés 4 years ago, recommended LandVenture and Im so happy she did! We spent 8 days across Colombia and this day was definitely the highlight of our overall trip. Andrés is a wonderful guide and extremely knowledgable - we learned a lot! It felt like we were touring around with a local friend, who went out of their way to make the day memorable, authentic, and fun! The sights were unbelievable and stunning and definitely not seen by the typical tourist. I HIGHLY recommend going with Andrés for all your tours. You will NOT be disappointed and well leave the tour with a deeper understanding of coffee, native bird and plants species, culture, and so much more! Andrés is worth every penny! Thank you again Andrés!
WOW! What can I say but I would give this 10 stars if I could! This was my first horseback riding tour in Colombia and I did it with Andres. I had such an unbelievable, breathtaking experience. I called him and booked the day before and he was able to squeeze us in for a tour. Andres was super friendly and an awesome guide who also spoke English and Spanish, he’s also very knowledgeable. I ended up choosing the cattle ranch riding tour and it did not disappoint! He was accommodating to payment methods and picking us up from hotel in the morning and provided us water for the trip. The horses you get to ride are from his very own farm. I can tell they are very well taken care of and healthy and also well behaved! We had an authentic Colombian lunch before taking off to ride. He will tailor to your riding experiences but I told him I had experiences riding so we were able to gallop during the flatter part of the ride. The view through the acres was so beautiful. He explained many things to us so I felt that I learned a lot. He also has fresh eggs from his chicken and his own roasted coffee so be sure to pick some up after the ride.It was a full day of trip, about 1.5 hr to the farm, 2 hrs ish for the ride.Overall I had such a wonderful experience for my first tour in Colombia, especially being a horse lover this was a thrill and an experience I’ll never forget. I look forward to other tours with Andres and LandVenture Travel in the future.Thank you again!I HIGHLY recommend going with him for your tours, you will not be disappointed and be coming back for more.🤠🐎🇨🇴
I loved Landventure travels! Did a private tour of their coffee farm tour + horseback riding. Alejo is such a cool guy and definitely open to new experiences! He is very knowledgeable about the tours and Colombia. Highly highly recommend the tour!
Geweldig tour
Land Adventure Medellin is a wonderful Tour Company. Our tour guide, Juan Angel, was fantastic. Land Adventure created an overnight tour for us to go to Santa Fe and Jardin. Juans knowledge of the region and his coffee knowledge was so impressive. This tour was one of the highlights of our travel to Medellin, Colombia. I highly recommend this tour company.
My two friends and I had an AMAZING time on a Medellin Concordia Coffee Tour with Andrés (which ended up being about much more than just coffee!). We spent a week in Colombia across Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena and this was by far our favorite day of our trip. Andrés got in touch with us many days before the tour date to confirm the pick-up time and location. He picked us up directly from our hotel and provided a thorough explanation of what we could expect for the day. At the same time, Andrés also offered us say in what we wanted to do, what we wanted to see, and which routes we wanted to take in order for us to maximize our experience. Over the course of the day, we had a home-cooked meal at his ranch, picked and processed coffee beans at a large Concordia coffee ranch, visited the town of Concordia, and visited other ranches in the area that had the most breathtaking views of the area. Along the way, Andrés was always ready to stop so we could take photos or so he could take photos for us. Andrés was also an incredibly good-natured and interesting individual, and we enjoyed many fascinating conversations about his life journey. On top of all that, what was most impressive was Andrés deep knowledge of every facet of the trip. He pointed out and identified different birds flying around us in the Andes and which trees and flowers were blooming. He provided a thorough account of Colombias coffee history and coffee industry. And he taught us about the social and political context that set the backdrop for these details. I left Andrés tour feeling with a deeper understanding of a variety of topics, from coffee to food to culture to politics, and the personalized and full experience Andrés provides is worth every penny.
My boyfriend and I went to a tour with Alejo, I cant say enough good things about the incredible day we spend in Guatape and the Coffee farm. we had incredible conversations about Colombia and specially the growth of Medellin. it was definitely the highlight of our trip. Alejo muchas gracias por todo, un abrazo gigante. Mark & Camilo
Our guide, Juan, was passionate about showing us Medellin. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered every question we asked with deep insight. He hired a resident of Comuna 13 to tell us about her experience during the drug wars and how her group helped lead the rebuilding of her community. He spoke great English and was very skilled at navigating crazy traffic situations. My friends and I also appreciated his flexibility and great attitude even at the end of a long day of touring all over the city. This company came highly recommended and they lived up to their reputation.
If could give 6 starts to this company, I would! My friends, who had never visited Colombia and I, had the most wonderful experience. Their vehicles are comfortable and in good shape. The guides are very professional, punctual and cordial. One of the most memorable experiences was going to Comuna 13 and have a local guiding us around his neighborhood. Another highlight is the ease for payment. Unlike many other tour companies, they did not ask me to pay in advance. They also know that foreign tourists are not used to pay in cash, so they offer electronic choices
I highly recommend. It was our first time in Medellin, the prices were so reasonable compared to other agencies. The best part is how great Landventure is with communication, everything planned out! It was great for us and for anyone who is new to the city. Juan was our guide and was very knowledgeable and open to talk about anything about the culture/lifestyle in Medellin. Also helped that he was bilingual, very fluent English. 5 stars easily!
I can’t say enough about this company. Four of us in my party toured Santa Fe, Concordia, & Jardin with Juan. He started the day right on time & kept us moving for 2 days of amazing sights & experiences. His knowledge of history and enthusiasm for sharing spoke of his love of the country & it’s people. We learned all about growing & harvesting coffee, witnessing each step first hand. We had a beautiful horseback ride in the mountains, ate wonderful trout at a trout farm, saw tens of Cock of the Rock birds at a sanctuary, & learned all about the towns of Jardin and Santa Fe. I’d love to do it all again!
One of the highlights of our trip to Medellín! I booked the tour for our group of five through Andres, paid a deposit, and had it confirmed in an afternoon. Alejo picked us up promptly and we had a fantastic afternoon with him and his parents at their home, then horseback riding through the countryside, and a wonderful local lunch. There were so many little moments in between that really made it for us--Alejo picked up some local bread that was served with his mothers homemade marmalade and coffee, etc etc. Our group all agreed it was a perfect day!
We had such a nice day with our guide Juan doing the horseback riding. We had coffee before and after the activity with him and his friend Alejandro who is also a guide for Landventure. They told us about coffee and made us feel like friends, we had the feeling of sharing a day with locals rather than being on a tour. I would do another tour with this company anytime.
During our travels in Colombia, my friend Debbie and I were staying in the larger cities, so we wanted to check out coffee country and visit a smaller town. LandVentures Medellin Coffee Tour to Concordia was perfect. Alejandro, picked us up at our hotel and immediately we began learning about Colombia, Medellin and Paisa culture from him. Alejo, who is very knowledgeable about a variety of subjects, answered our questions, offered anecdotes, made recommendations and was very easy to talk to.And that was all before we even arrived at the coffee farm. Set in a stunning area of the Andes, the farm was fantastic. Debbie and I had an opportunity to see the coffee harvesting process and even pick some of the coffee cherries ourselves. I definitely have a new respect for a cup of coffee and all the people responsible for making it happen. In addition to visiting the coffee farm, we went to Concordia and had some time to wander around. It was so cool to see daily life in a smaller town. Alejo picked up some fresh food and took it back to another farm location and the hospitable caretakers prepared a very traditional Paisa meal that was delicious. We also ate unbelievably sweet Mangoes and some other tasty tropical fruits that I had never seen before.I truly felt like LandVenture provided me with that amazing cultural experience every traveler hopes to have. The tour was also so easy to arrange with Andres and the communication about when, where and how the tour would work was very efficient. We learned so much from Alejandro about Colombia that it really made the rest of our trip more meaningful. Many thanks to Alejandro and Andres.
Awesome day with Juan Angel for Concordia coffee tour. He picked us up from our hotel promptly and took us out to the coffee region in the west Andes. We had an amazing breakfast on the way. Very scenic drive. Coffee farm was beautiful. We picked coffee and learned about the process at the farm, then visited the cooperative and had coffee in the town before heading back. Delicious lunch on the way. Great way to learn about coffee and the area in general. We really enjoyed it! Wear long pants and bring closed toe shoes, bug spray, and water.
Best day we’ve had in the Medellín area over a month. Every aspect of the day was simply outstanding. Juan Angel picked us up at our apartment at 630 and we were back at 730 PM. The tour is complete for everything about Columbian coffee from picking the beans at a farm, processing, cooperative shipping, roasting and tasting at the beautiful town of Jardin. We added in horseback riding and bird watching, and both of those were much better than what we had expected. Through the day our guide, Juan Angel, kept us going and was perfect in what we saw and providing explanations about the region. The best part of this huge day was the farm where we did most of our visit. Hosts Jaime Marin and his wife Imelda were delightful and authentic. Their farm, food, coffee and horses were the incredible. A day way beyond five stars.
We have been using them since our first trip to MDE. Any guide we have had has done a fantastic job and are extremely knowledgeable about where they take you, how they take you and the nature and culture in Colombia. All of the great reviews are well deserved
There is a reason why Land Venture gets great reviews. We had an amazing time today on the Guatape tour with Juan. HE IS AWESOME!We had considered other tour companies, but really sets apart Landventures for me is:- Andres was VERY quick to respond to my emails and whatsapp questions. We were able to book a private tour the day before we took it- Juan isn’t just a knowledgeable tour guide.. that knows every fact about everything you’re looking at. He’s genuinely fun and interesting. Knows a lot about music, architecture, fashion, culture and obviously.. Medellin. He’s AWESOME to spend the day with. I’d consider paying him just to hang out with me. I’m kidding. Maybe.- They do an amazing job of telling you exactly what to expect, what to bring, how long things will be and how much things will cost. This transparency is VERY helpful.- Communication and english are perfectTHANK YOU Juan and Andres for making our Medellin trip super special!
Alejandro, te amamos! Gracias por dos dias tan increible. - Los Otero de Puerto Rico.
We had our coffee tour trip today with Andres before going back home tomorrow and I must say, what an experience starting from getting a history of the coffee culture, eating an amazing breakfast at the Andres house and what a sight to see there.Everything is freshly made from their own garden and Abril and Leia are the most amazing dog companians ever. After that we went to the coffee farm and learned so much of their history and tasted the most amazing coffee ever.We learned to pick beans and the difference of each beans and the importance of ensuring a rich aromatic coffee. After that we visited the town and its just full of culture and an amazing view.We finished off with a tremendous lunch back at Andres house. What an awesome and beautiful way to finish my vacation and going back home with such a good and rich experience.Thank you Andres and team for all you do. See you next year!
My wife and I went to Medellin a few days ago for 3 days. After doing some research, we were certain LandVenture Travel would be the best traveling guide group for us. All I can say about them is Muy Rico J, which means they were more than perfect. They have exceeded both of our expectations and provided guidance more than we anticipated. LandVenture Travel has made us fall in love with Colombia and the people of country so much that we’re considering to hopefully retire there one day after our first visit there. For our activities we decided we wanted to explore their City Tour, Concordia Coffee Tour and Guatape Tour. Andreas, the owner of the company was extremely helpful with suggestions on what we should do for our trip based off of our interests and schedule. From the beginning of planning our trip through the end of it, he was always there for us. He created a plan on what works best for us and customized an activity itinerary with details. Being first time travelers to Colombia, Andreas made us feel confident that this trip will be successful based off of how fast and efficient he was with his communication and how informational he was for all of our questions and concerns. Our first and last day in Colombia, our guide was Alejo the City tour and Guatape tour. Alejo was a delightful person to have as our guide he made us feel comfortable where it later felt like we were exploring a country with a friend, not a guide. He knew so much about the country, the people and the culture. We discovered so much about the city and the history. He kept things fun as we learned and introduced us to the art of Colombia, the city, the metro, cable car system, making sure we experienced Guatape and much more! Once we met him he knew exactly what our interests were in exploring the country and took us places that wowed us. Not only did he show us the culture of the country but he taught us a lot about the history and how it flourished, because of Alejo our experience was more than enjoyable.Juan was our second guide for Concordia Coffee Tour, who also became our friend during our trip. Juan was vibrant individual who was also informational throughout our trip on learning how to coffee is made and the culture. He introduced us to the see how much talent and skills it takes to make coffee. Although every moment with Juan was an adventure but a few of our favorite memories with him is when he led us to eating our first traditional meal in Colombia at our favorite restaurant La Moyria. We loved trying out the plantains, chimichori, chicken, beef, traditional cornbread, lemonade made with panilla, fresh butter, cheese and much more! Not only was Juan great at choosing traditional dishes for us to try but, he also presented various type of music. He explained the meaning and art behind the songs and after being back we can’t stop listening to a song called “Me Gustas Tu”. For the Concordia tour we stayed in a beautiful and cozy farm house before we started the coffee tour. At the farmhouse we met the manager Gonzalo, who was the sweetest person you could ever meet, he made us feel right at home as if we were family. We had a wonderful experience with him where we didn’t want to leave and to top things off, he made the best lemonade we’ve ever had in our lives! If you are thinking about choosing LandVenture for your trip, please don’t hesitate. There is so much to see and so much to do, they’ll help you plan it all, go above and beyond for all your expectations and in return you’ll fall in love with Colombia!
I’ve been fortunate enough, with work and vacations, to have traveled to over 80 countries and all 7 continents. While traveling, I’ve taken MANY tours. Today’s tour with Juan was one of the best ever! Juan is AWESOME! So knowledgeable, friendly, patient and smart. My family and I had an AMAZING day! Great tour, food, fun adventures on the zip line and ATVs and truly the best coffee we’ve ever tasted. We bought bags and bags of it. Thank you and especially Juan for a highlight of our 2 weeks in Colombia!!
This tour, and travel company, is just incredible. We went on the Concordia tour with Andrés from LandVenture. Andrés is a great guide, very funny, speaks good English and has enormous knowledge. We learned about Medellin, Colombia, nature, animals, politics, coffee and so much more. From the moment you leave Medellin everything you see is just beautiful beyond imagination. We stopped many different places, including Andrés farm, a coffee farm, a small town and some places to eat. Everywhere there was a scenery, with mountains, coffee and jungle as far as you can see. Of course you get to buy coffee and eat local food. Worth mentioning is that Landventure is the only operator from Medellin that travels to Concordia. There is only one thing left to say, and that is that you have to take this trip!
Of all the research I did online to find a half day tour to a coffee farm, this was the only tour agency I found. Andres, the owner, was very hospitable over the telephone and communicated effectively via messaging to set up a time for us to visit a local farm outside of Medellin. He arranged for us to meet our guide, Sara. She picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the farm about 30 minutes outside the city.Located in the mountains, the scenery was breathtaking. She went with us on the tour which was lead by the owner of the farm. The coffee farm has been family owned since the 1960s We learned the step by step process of how coffee is made and went into the field to pick coffee beans. We were pleasantly surprised to see banana trees growing on the farm as well. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to drink some coffee.Sara did a wonderful job by giving us a lot of interesting facts about the city, both past and present. It was a delight to spend the afternoon with her.
Our day trip to Jardin with Juan and Landventure Travel was one of the best things we did our entire time in Colombia. Communication with Andres and the rest of the team beforehand was super easy. We set up the trip via email and specified that we wanted to go to Jardin for some coffee tours but didn’t want to do the horseback riding portion of the tour. The morning of, Juan (our guidepicked us up at the hotel and drove us to Jardin. The drive is around 2.5 hours both ways but it is completely worth it. Juan was extremely kind and knowledgeable, and knew tons about the region surrounding Medellin which he told us as we were driving. The day began in the town of Jardin with some coffee tastings, and ended eating a homemade lunch on a coffee farm overlooking the most breathtaking view. I learned so much about the process of coffee, experienced the beautiful landscape and felt the warmth of people in the region. It’s absolutely worth it to book the day trip with Landventure Travel - you’ll see things in a different way than you would if you were on your own. I’ll be booking a day trip to Guatape with them next time I’m in Colombia!
We had a great horseback riding excursion (Santa Elena day tripwith LandVenture Travel! LandVenture was very easy to communicate with, and the tour was authentic, informative, beautiful and FUN! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we loved that LandVenture was able to accommodate our small group of 2.
Best experience through the Jardín Region! Pleasant car ride and lots of space. Worth every penny! Our guide Juan was amazing and very friendly. We had the best coffee in a little cafe in the plaza of Jardín.The views at the top are spectacular! Cant be beat!
If you dont have a great time on a tour with these guys, then the problem is with you!My wife & I did the horseback trip through Jardín & it was the BEST! The horses were responsive, the food was delicious, the scenery was second to none, & Andrés (our guideis the coolest guy in Columbia. If you are a tourist going through Medellín, & you pass up on this excursion, you are living your life incorrectly. In seriousness, our trip couldnt have been better. They were professional & everything was perfectly executed.
Horseback Riding Tour:Had an excellent tour through the mountains with Ignacio! The horseback riding tour was so much fun, very safe, had the most incredible views of Medellin, and informative of the region and culture :We were very well taken care of the entire time, picked up, dropped off, got delicious snacks and drinks at the ranch, and stopped by a great restaurant with traditional Colombian food!
My wife and I spent 3 days traveling through Guatape, Medellin and Jardin with Alejandro as our guide. I cant imagine how the trip could have been better. Alejo was amazing - the friendliest person weve ever met and with an encyclopedic knowledge of the region. There is simply no way we could have done the things we did, seen the sights we saw and experienced these areas the way we experienced them without him. We cant recommend LandVenture Travel - and Alejo, in particular - strongly enough. Thanks again, Alejo...you made our trip!
Awesome tour of coffee farm in Concordia. Our tour guide, Juan, was very knowledgeable and fun. He definitely knew his stuff and made it a good time. Would definitely do another tour with this group!
My family of 8 and I had an incredible time on the Concordia Coffee Tour with Juan. The entire experience was flawless, from the first communication with Andrės, who seemed to go the extra mile to make a tour happen for us at the last minute, to the very end when Juan took more time to show us some cool spots around Poblado. His passion and love for Colombia is inspiring - we learned so much - and were captivated by the scenery. This tour is much more than visiting a coffee farm. It includes some of the best Colombian food weve tasted, great music along the way, a unique visit to a town off the tourist track, stops to take in the mountainous landscape, and a fun ride through the farm to actually pick coffee beans. The farm itself is very interesting and full of animals, friendly people who make the best coffee, and Juan gives an excellent presentation around different parts of the farm, showing the complex coffee-making process. We appreciated his patience answering all of our questions, and we have a new-found respect for coffee. Such a unique experience well not forget - these guys are more like ambassadors for Colombia rather than tour guides! Gracias!
We did the Concordia Coffee Tour last January. The tour was amazing, highly recommend it and definitely worth every penny. We had some amazing experiences and saw fascinating things, even if you are not a coffee drinker! Andres was knowledgeable and the tour was perfect. We are looking forward to doing more tours with him when we return this coming January.
As a solo traveler, I wrote to inquire about joining an existing tour. They didnt have anything booked when I originally emailed, but Andres later reached out to ask if I was still interested, as they now had a group going. Andres was very informative throughout the process, confirming times, what to bring, etc... I dont consider myself a "tour type" (e.g. this was the third group tour in 15+ years of travel), but this was great. Our guide, Alejandro, was very knowledgeable about culture, politics, and history, and I learned way more than I expected to. Our horses were perfectly suited for beginner riders, and the landscape we passed through was a good example of the local countryside. It was interesting to see the contrast between Medellin and the immediate outskirts. Our actual riding time was cut a bit short because of rain, but overall, the day exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!
We did a tour with Andres. We had a great time and saw some remarkable countryside. Andres was very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend his company.
I had considered doing a tour of Guatape on my own, without a guide, via bus, or Uber...to save a little money. After taking a tour for the day with Andres, the owner of LandVenture, I can tell you FLAT OUT, WITHOUT QUESTION, I will never again do a day tour without a local guide.Andres picked us up right at our condo in Medellin and brought us on a fun, scenic drive to Guatape, with stops anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go. He brought me to photo opportunities that I would have never known about, he brought me to buy coffee at wholesale from a vendor I most certainly wouldnt have known about, and he brought me to literally everything that I wanted to explore. Without Andres, our day would have been 90% less interesting, and wed have learned 90% less than we did.Andres even took us on our tour ON HIS BIRTHDAY no less!We got to explore El Penol, and climb it, we got to wander around Guatapé and have a fantastic lunch, we got to do a zipline, we got to go out onto the water on a fun boat ride, we got to enjoy a cup of fantastic coffee, and we got to learn a lot about everything.Do not hesitate to ask Andres to take you anywhere you want to explore around Medellin, its priceless.
This is by far the best tour company in Colombia! We did the Concordia Coffee tour with Juan and he was the perfect guide. He spoke about Colombia with excitement and pride! The coffee tour was perfect, seeing every step along the way. Even took us into town to purchase some of the coffee. Juan told us about the other tours offered by LandVenture-wish we had more time to do them all! And I also want to add that Andrės, the owner, was incredibly knowledgable in everything and very professional. When we come back going to book again with this company!
