Lamin Lodge - Restaurant in Banjul, Gambia
Lamin Lodge in Banjul
Description
Privilege
Ens va agradar molt la sortida en barca i el poder contemplar un arbre tan espectacular.
MoreNice place to visit, just be careful, people there want to rip you off in any ocasion. Overvalued. Its a nice trip not worth this money.
MoreVery unusual timber building on the river shore. Great food and veiws from the top dining area
MoreWell I can’t say anything bad about this place. As I was alone and price was pretty high for me I decided to leave BUT they didn’t let me as I was first costumer of the day and instead of 3000 dalasis I have paid 1000 dalasis for over two hours. I have had the best guy ever who was fun and hard working as the motor stopped working after a few minutes so he needed to paddle all the time. I think his nae was “Mossis” so ask for him.
MoreGreat place and breakfast good too.
Very good bird watching experience 🙂🙂🙂
Lamin Lodge is a great place to relax and have a good meal.Talk to Mr Karim Coneh if you want a friendly guide to help you with anything.
MoreI can absolutly rekomend Lamin logde.Evryone is friendly and food is grate.Prices for boattrips are fixed.
MoreThe lodge has again reopened. The people are very friendly. Options for different boat trips available.
MoreThis place is not worth visiting - incredibly rude people - selling boat trips for 2 persons for 120€ per hour. after not even 10 minutes on the boat they say you need to walk because of low tide. It’s not because of the money but the way we we’re treated was really bad. When told the tour guide that this is not ok he started yelling at us in a very rude way.
MoreA wonderful place. The river is calm and bath friendly. Has a unique African look. The view from the bar is amazing. Definitely worth the visit if you’re interested in seeing monkeys.
MoreGreat place! Staff told us oysters and trees and everything, really nice man! River was peaceful and calming. Good prices!
MoreIts an okay place to visit considering the costs involved also depending on where you start out from. The price for boats tour is way too much and in my case the boats men failed to explain what the package includes. A one hour gets you to the Sandbank and a two hour to the village on an island. You can either take the boat from lamins lodge or the property next to it. Make sure you say exactly where you want to go before embarking on the trip. Otherwise the area where you bord the boat already provides an interesting encounter. Its an oyster farming village and there is the internet tree (see pictureand other baobab tree that lends the area the special touch.
MorePeaceful, nice atmosphere
Good food. Lovley place.
I enjoyed feeding the monkeys
Wood Lodge middle of Mangrove muds. Lots of birds around, God nature atmosphere. In here the olyster fishering make in here, very Interesting. Eutopean ships and catamarans docking the port.
MoreWonderful sea view with mangroves I had good relax
Lamin Lodge is a hidden treasure at Gambia River. It has a cool breeze, a great view and a laid-back atmosphere. You can see monkeys, fish jumping in the water and locals ‘harvesting’ oysters.Hundred meters in front of Lamin Lodge you can rent a boat for a short or longer trip over The Gambia River, which I recommend! Be aware tot negotiate about the price. The ones on the billboard aren’t fixed prices!
MoreWe came there in the morning. Nobody was there. The view was absolutely beautiful
MoreReally nice food staff great.
Great experience
Its okay the gave us a nice boatride at the mangroves. I think the whole place can use some cleaning and refreshing.
MoreCharming place
Peaceful and tranquil
The lodge is a work of art, it has a resturant inside. This place is a must See, remember to HAGGLE the price of any boat trips, they will let you on for half.
MoreExcellent spot for anchoring your boat. Edi Jammeh can provide drinking water and other supplies and he can also take care of your laundry. Modou Njie is an excellent birding guide. In Lamin Lodge the food is good. It is not a lodge with rooms for rent but rather a restaurant.
MoreIt was nice we saw a man playing drums they offered us drinks and we saw monkeys.
MoreVery Good location, traditional taste!
Didnt actually go to the lodge but to the tiny fishing place next door. We did this on a guided tour with a bird guide and went on a boat around the mangroves. We saw so many birds I lost count of how many and our guide, Baboo, who we found through and official Gambia tour guide centre, was very knowledgeable and knew all the wildlife and were to find them. We also had a breakfast here, which was better than the hotel breakfast, and came out of a tiny kitchen.
MoreLovely setting. Decent menu and good quality food.
Beautiful place to visit.well recommended
Interesting location just mind the monkeys that given the chance will steal your food
MoreThe food in the restaurant is ok and reasonably priced. Avoid the boat trips they are seriously overpriced for a 30 minute trip around the mangroves, when they return the two man crew demand a large tip on top of the overpriced fare – not pleasant.
MoreStrange looking place seemingly in the middle of.nowhere. Very interesting. Your boats will go out from here, and the mangrove swamps will be interesting, if you like that sort of thing. Good breakfast considering the location. The birds, they can be good, but it varies according to season and.time of day.
MoreQuiet treehouse get-a-way in the mangroves of the bay outside of Lamin town. Its not a lodge per say; they dont provide beds or rooms for people to stay overnight. Its a gathering place for interesting characters, both Gambian and tourist. Drinks are decently priced and usually cold, food is average and overpriced. Come for the views and a couple of drinks; maybe a boat ride if you have the money to spend.
MoreBeautifull view over the mangrove. Eating and drinken while the monkeys sit next to you. Beautifull place. The boattrips are nice, but not spectaculair. The staff of the restaurant is very nice and polite, the crew of the boattrips are too much out of your money.
MoreNote: This is a bar and does not offer rooms or beds. I cant count the number of aging tourists Ive seen dragging a prostitute or "friend" down the road to try to spend the night here only to find that it closes at 6 pm.I used to live just down the road from Lamin Lodge when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer. It gets pretty heavy tourist traffic during the season, but is abandoned during the summer months. Its a great place to go for a hot afternoon, as the upper level gets a nice breeze. The beers are pricey but the view is great. They also offer bird tours in the morning if you book through Gambia Experience. There are boats to rent here, but they are quite expensive. The food is pretty good, a little pricey though. Also there are marauding monkeys that come and try to steal any food or drink items you may have.It can be a little difficult to get here. Taxis are anywhere from 300 dalasi up to 1000, depending on where you pick one up. And the taxi drivers usually come upstairs with you and guilt you into buying them lunch and soft drinks. You can walk in from the main road if you want, although its 3km from the blacktop.
MoreGreat place to eat. Give it a try.
Unique tree house restaurant experience, if you are lucky you might be joined by a monkey or two! We had a lovely relaxing river trip to see the oysters in the mangroves. Our party did not sample food so I cannot comment on this but we were able to purchase teas, coffees and the local Julbrew beer. If you are getting a hot drink here, do ask that it be very hot if you like it that way as the hot drinks we ordered were tepid when they arrived.
MoreIts fun especially the water
Good food and service, shrimps with rice was lovely. Excellent views.
Been there back in 2015 with my class mates for a day visit. We had a canoe trip and the food was superb. Would love to visit their again
