We were warmly welcomed by the front of house staff and taken to our table. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we got there at 7.30pm on a Saturday night but got busier as the night went on. Service was excellent, water was topped up regularly, specials were explained and wait staff were polite and efficient. Wine list is extensive and interesting. The food was outstanding, particularly the amazing desserts. Overall we had a fantastic night here and we were very impressed by everytyhing about Lalla Rookh. Highly recommended!

First visit here for me. We had the il Capo/Chefs tasting menu which was 6 shared courses; influenced by seasonality, local produce& signature dishes. It was divine! So fresh and the flavours and textures were outstanding. The staff were friendly and attentive and the wine list was incredible. Ill definitely be back.

Very expensive for unremarkable food. Arancini, $18, was four tiny morsels of bland food served without sauce or garnish. Far better places to eat in the CBD—go elsewhere.

Good food and service, can be busy and noisy after work, but otherwise a great place to meet up in the city. The wine room on the side is great!

Liked the atmosphere here, had a dining area and a separate bar area. Enjoyed the food particularly the pizza. Was a bit disappointed with the service, had to wait awhile to get served. Once seated offered still or sparking water, asked for still and found out when getting the bill the still water was 5$ each! Cost not mentioned when the water was offered and it was poured out of a refillable container - what am I paying for?

Umm well this wasn’t great! We were really excited after finding them recommended on Perths List of Italian restaurants and it was… well it tasted like I’d ordered Italian from a street cart in S.E.Asia.The Tuscan Chicken was tasteless, arancini just tasted like table salt. Then for our mains we had the rigatoni which was actually Cannelloni pasta (any one else mind blown they used the wrong pasta in an Italian restaurant?!which tasted just like tinned spaghetti although the sauce was much more watery. The Ghnocci was inedible after a few mouthfuls it was wayyy too salty (and I love salty, bold flavoursagain watery sauce. There was no pepper in their Cacio e pepe?! But that doesn’t matter because we couldn’t even finish the dish. We left super unsatisfied and feeling off due to the obvious way overuse of salt in an attempt to give the dishes some flavour.The only good part was the wine and that wasn’t made in-house. Although we did get entertained when the waiter spilt it all over the table when pouring it and walked off.All in all a poor attempt at Italian Cuisine and super disappointing. Ambience in the space is inauthentic and cold.Would NOT recommend as it was a very expensive, super disappointing dining experience.The last waiter who offered us dessert and then gave us the bill was lovely though shout out to you as your co workers that were taking care of us before hand could barely crack a smile or an ounce of warmth.

The atmosphere was bland. We were a table of four with a booking and we were seated at the side of the restaurant at a high top table near the entrance. Then we were left for 20 minutes before someone took a drinks order. We had the chefs tasting menu. The first course the chef chose for us was pig’s head - large slices and not even flavoursome. Not a good start. The pasta was oily, ordinary, over garlicked and under seasoned. Another course was a large slice of pig’s belly. Why serve a large piece of pork twice? Then, hoping for a dolce dessert, both the apple and the sorbet were bitter and unappetising. Overall a very underwhelming experience.

Had a lovely birthday dinner, kitchen were super accommodating to allergies. Service was great, my glass was never empty!

Lovely staff. I always smile when ordering there as the bar crew always are so friendly and ready for a chat. Seems like a good place to work. Great location off the street in Perth, good food in the restaurant too. Happy to recommend.

Extremely rude staff with poor communication skills. Made us feel very unwelcome. Disappointing experience.

Absolutely disgusting service by the manager and wait staff last night. Very rude towards our table of 7, took their time to ask for our drinks + food order. Told one of our friends off for blocking the isle when she was made to stand up. More than 5 spare tables in view and none of the tables had been filled by the time we ate and left. No communication by the staff with our table. Only exception was the amazing food and drinks, disappointing service. Only recommend this place for good food, beware of the poor service and lack of communication.

Went here for a function, loved that they have stonewood pacific ale on tap. The canapes were delicious, I particularly liked the battered prawns, cheese board, and mini pizzas.

From the bouncer to the beers, it was an experience. Bartenders were smug and unimpressed, bouncer was unnecessarily mysterious.

Great food with an Italian influence. Superb wines on offer. Not the cheapest but good value.

Worst dining experience in a while. Tasteless arancini. The seafood pasta was just bits of dried fish cut up in bite size pieces in very ordinary sauce - totally bland. Only good dish was the octopus. Would not recommend.

Very disappointed. Had read about this place on a few Perth lists, and liked the expansive ambience when we walked in. However all three of our dishes were underwhelming. The gnochhi was super oily, the mushroom and ox cheek ragu was heavy on the pasta and the lacked the richness of slow cooked ragu, the smoked risotto was bland, perhaps a bit undercooked. Noone came to check up on the dishes, and we ended up leaving without having the dessert we initially ordered. Only saving grace? Delicious coffees.

Weve been here a number of times and returned on the 24th March for the first time since the start of covid. To be honest, its simply not quite as good. Service was a bit hit and miss, I would think you should get served bread at the beginning of the il Capo and the overall serving quantity of the il Capo was quite disappointing. We will give it another go some day but was disappointed in general.

The service was very good and the food tasted good when we ate it. But I think my friend and I got food poisoning as we were both up through the night and still suffering the next day with dodgy stomachs and frequent dashes to the bathroom.

We had the pizza special which was a perfect balance of flavour and simple choice of ingredients, unusually tasty and a perfect crust. We Added to our lunch a serve of arancini and a serve of fried chicken also delicious we couldnt finish it all so took some home in a box. I can also I say the service was notably good, the waiter could comfortably describe everything on the menu, thank you for a great break in our day. If you go there remember to try the warm fresh bread served just before the meal with a drizzle of the olive oil from the bottles on the table. An added surprise.

Just awful. Waitress was miserable. I ordered a glass of wine that tasted like the bottle had been opened weeks ago. I told her and she said nothing. Just took the near full glass away. Didnt ask if i wanted anything else. Arancini extremely salty. Fish was overcooked. How hard is it to make an affogato? Three of us ordered it and it tasted of curry. No idea what the liqueur was but it tasted just dreadful. Will never go there again.

AverageWe ordered the the chargrilled quail which was seasoned nicely.Then I ordered the seafood pasta which was lacking in oomph. The table next to me asked for chilli flakes and salt for the same dish.My friend ordered the pork and fennel pasta which was not badDessert was tiramisu semifreddo. The espresso caramel was too sweet. I rather have tiramisu/espresso ice cream.

Great wine selection, great service, great food. The smaller Wine Room is a particularly lovely space if youre looking to sit and catch up with old friends enjoying a particularly good drop.

Food was nice but be careful the portion wasnt big enough to make you feel full especially for guys. Had a cocktail. Price is the market price, but the glass was small even for the person who doesnt drink often.

Pretty standard after-work drinks spot. Tap beers could be more adventurous. Reasonable prices and a happy hour between 5-6pm so overall not bad.

Nice atmosphere, great wine list and the wines we tried were all really nice, food was quite tasty. The service was mostly quite good, but we were forgotten about for a while even though it was still early and relatively quiet. Our mains also came out shortly after we ordered food and a few minutes after our bread arrived, it was a bit too quick and felt like they wanted us in and out the door. Other than that it was a great dinner.

Exceptional pizza. Thin base, but edges puffy and full of air. Not overloaded with toppings but balanced so well and amazing flavour.Service was exceptional also.We will be back.

With all the hype surrounding this place, I must say, I was slightly underwhelmed. They are very good, but just not as great as they’re made out to be. I’ve been here several times over the years and I do like their renovations. I find their entrees and desserts to be very nice and full of flavour more so than their mains. Their beef carpaccio is however, excellent. This is a good place to have work functions or after work drinks.

I really love this place. It has 3 different ambiences, courtyard for causal eating, sit in restaurant and wine store. You essential a have buy 1 get 3 vibes free!The service for me was impeccable. This felt like Melbourne, New York, Asia hybrid service. The barkeep give me an education with the fine wines, the waiters introduced the dishes we ordered and the fit out felt truly on point.Kudos to the owners and the managers and training for the staff.In photos Vongole, Crab Spaghettini, gluten free fried chicken all fantastic!

Im a regular here, have been coming since it opened. The wine shop/bar to the side of the restaurant is a treasure trove. They have secured deals on wine here that you will struggle to find anywhere in Australia, My favourites are the small French/Italian wines that are so obscure they dont even have websites, but they make the most amazing wine you never heard of!! The food menu is always getting updated and fresh, so I never get bored. The fish of the day is a staple for me, locally caught, usually pink snapper or similar - perfectly cooked and complemented with amazing salads - High end food that is made with love!

Always a great night to be had at Lalla Rookh, brilliantly cooked food, Italian at heart but with lots of modern twists and quirks.Fantastic wine selection and a dedicated wine room off the main restaurant.Large bar area up front with regularly changing tap beers, all Australian to boot.Good for after work drinks or a catch up as well as a nice meal.Il capo menu is always good, 6 courses chosen by the chef to share.Pizzas are proper and authentic.

The food at Lalla Rockh was delicious. We had the arancini, beef, squid ink spaghetti and the fish of the day which was the snapper - really fresh. Service was great despite it being busy!

Came in for a quick drink while we waited for a booking at a restaurant nearby, unfortunately the bar lady gave my friends a death glare because I ordered a drink and they didnt order anything. Typical behaviour for bar staff but given such a nice place I was expecting something more friendly since they accompanied a paying guest when the bar was completely empty🤷.Would have given 1 star but the bar lady I returned my glass too at least smiled back.

Very attentive service, we had the chefs selection of 6 courses 4 out of 6 were great. The pork crust was too salty and the past course presentation was pretty slack for a place that is supposed to be high end. The wine list was very great and I was pleased with all four wines we tried.

A reliable work favourite - service isnt the fastest but the food is well worth the wait.

I’ve dined at Lalla Rookh twice in the past two weeks. Once for a birthday function and the second for a family dinner – and both visits were uniformly excellent. Even amidst restrictions pertaining to the current Covid world we find ourselves in, the service was warm, friendly, and efficient – and the kitchen consistently produced excellent plates of food. They catered extremely well for dietary requirements including a seafood allergy and a coeliac even in the ‘il capo’ tasting menu option. Wine list excellent including some really great and rare European varieties. So satisfied with both meals that I only ever took photos of the first course in either case!

Lalla Rookh (and Googledidnt disappoint :)A causal, cozy yet sophisticated bar / restaurant tucked away downstairs in St Georges Terrace.Offers both alfresco (cut away roof open to street and indoor seating options.Great menu choices (Italian themedand a very broad drinks list.Staff are super friendly and attentive.Food is very well presented and manages to retain Italian authenticity and reach out to other cuisines.Not at all noisy and a very comfortable environment... well be back :)

This place was great! The wine list is extensive and fantastic, a little on the expensive side but great wine. What blew me away was the pizza! We ordered the pork and fennel sausage with pesto, but wow that pizza was to die for, everything about it was so fresh and gourmet! Not only that, but our night was made more enjoyable by our waiter Bianca being so cheery, helpful and attentive! Cant wait to come back 😊

Delicious squid ink spaghettini (aud34with generous crab and fish, unfortunately risotto (aud34 toowas undercooked and grainy (one simply would not expect restaurant of this calibre to undercook risotto).Mozzarella cheese with golden beets (aud17was quite a good entree, went well with the complimentary soft bread. Affogato (aud14- Intense flavours of rum and raisin ice cream, espresso and cocoa liquor.Extensive wine list which is good.

Nice menu with a great variety to choose from. For entree had the grilled octopus. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended. Main was the veal which was cooked perfectly. And dessert was the zabaglione semifreddo. Delicious.

The cuisine packs a punch with flavours that excite the palate and leave you wanting more. No dish is bland or boring, with each dish having its own unique style and flavour. The food should not dissatisfy, the only let down is the seating being very close so you lose the intamacy of a private dinner.

Large venue which is nicely decorated. Staff are friendly. Servings tasty dishes and good drink options. There are a few different sections to the venue. Recommend a visit.

Excellent service, very friendly staff! We got the 6 course meal (chefs selectionand had to leave early so we couldnt get dessert. We came back a few hours later and even though the kitchen was closing they still served us dessert. That was very nice.Food was really good too, the chefs selection had some really interesting dishes such as watermelon and bocconcini chesse. Also, they make their own pasta which is great! I would definitely recommend coming here. Its a good place to come for drinks too.
