On the shores of Lake Winnipeg, this modern hotel and conference centre is 8.7 km from Camp Morton Provincial Park. The casual rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, TVs and minifridges. Suites add separate living rooms with pull-out sofas and wet bars. Airy extended-stay suites have full kitchens and storage space for skis or golf clubs. Kids age 17 and under stay free with adults.Amenities include both indoor and outdoor pools, plus a hot tub and a sauna. There's also a game room and an exercise room. The hotel offers 2 dining options: a relaxed restaurant and an informal cocktail lounge. Conference facilities are also available.
We had a great weekend staying in one of the one bedroom rooms. While the price of the room is a bit high for what you get in the actual room we love it as there’s a view of the lake and it’s the perfect location. We parked our car and didn’t use it again all weekend. They seem to be doing some updates on the hotel, our room had brand new living room furniture and they were updating the room key card system while we were there as well. We requested a room on the lake side and they were able to accommodate our request. We ate at seagulls twice and were happy with our food both times. My one piece of constructive criticism is they seem to be in need of new fitted sheets, our sheet has no elastic left and was constantly coming off. All in all we had a great stay and we will definitely be back.
We stayed in a spacious and clean room, the spa area was very well maintained (indoor pool, hot tub and sauna), staff extremely friendly and helpful. Although there were a. Number of weddings taking place there that weekend, other than an occasionally crowded elevator our room was very quiet. The only issue we had was that the WiFi was useless, but our phone plans covered our needs. Well be returning!
I made a review in 2019 as a DJ here dping an event......sadly after becoming a guest my rating gets flipped to a 1 for tacky outdated rooms and the pay before pleasent service atmosphere. Sad im stuck here for 2 days
Good place to go to see local manitoba artists and crafts. Recommend.
My family and I always go there , its clean , and staff is amazing. Food at the restaurant is also great.
Friendly staff. Rooms were old and in need of new carpet, tile etc. Reason for low score was the rooms being old. Maybe they have better? I will be back Sept 19 maybe I can get a better room and upgrade my review. Will see if management responds to this review.
The room was very dated. We asked for an early check in to get ready for a wedding weeks prior using their online request tool. My request stayed pending until I called on the day of and was told they were with a guest and would call me back. 2 hours later I received my callback and news of no early check in. When checking in there was no talk about the amenities, restaurant etc. Overall not a very good experience for the price paid other than the prime location of the hotel at the waterfront.
Nice place to stay in Gimli , view is amazingNeed bit more cleaning and upgrades in roomsAmazing restaurant
My family had one night ruined in the pool area by unsupervised kids throwing the chairs and stuff into the pool and bringing food. Other than that it was a great time.
We were offered accessible room after 1st room didnt have space to turn around my chair.Their accessible room is an improvement but the bathroom is marginal. Hard to turn around and toilet has raised seat instead of a proper toiletGrab bars are good. Bed is comfortable . Rooms are clean.Restaurant,Bar and front desk were overwhelmed and unable to keep up so that they had to close bar to catch up and cancel wait-list and walkins
I love to go to Gimli. Its a very beautiful town to visit. I go every year. I love it there. Everything is beautiful and the restaurants have great delicious foods. I recommend it for vacation or any time visit. 👍
We liked it. Nice and close to shops. The bed was comfy. The sheet was a little scratchy. Staff was friendly and helpful. The indoor Pool was nice. We didnt get to try the restaurant as it was closed. We will visit again.
Room was spacious we enjoyed the two nights we spent there.
First rate service from everyone from the front desk staff Trevor,Curtis and others and Michael the GM to the wait staff and housekeeping
Its a great location and was pretty clean but it needs upgrades big time. Hecla is nice for the water slides but its absolutely disgusting they never clean in that place at least the lakeview in gimli is clean but needs water slides and some new furniture but all in all it is a great location great staff and its clean we would come again and again
Enjoyed a beautiful day today in Gimli Mb Enjoyed lunch and wine in the Lakeview Resort only to realize I had left my wallet in the washroom stall 30 min earlier.Went to the front desk and it was turned in, money and all. The staff had taken the time to contact the local insurance broker to ask them to contact me.I am so grateful to everyone involved,Thank you!
Comfortable facility. Frat location…right on the water and at the center of town. Nice friendly staff.
Unfortunately expectations were not met for $220 per night. The rooms are old and outdated. There were signs of visible dust in the corners of the floors and bathroom tile grout was broken. Didnt appreciate a cleaning knock at 9am in the morning when Im on vacation for three days. The reason for my vacation was so that I could sleep in which never happened. Why are they cleaning at 9 if check outs are at 11, not to mention I was there for three nights. The door cards need to be upgraded. It you put your card anywhere your phone it gets demagnetized --- super annoying as a male who uses my phone case as my wallet. Time for some serious renos!!!
Room not cleaned thoroughly. One bed was not changed, staff were great in resolving this and offered room change, decreased rate and breakfast vouchers. Great view by lake Winnipeg. Seagull restaurant in hotel hade excellent food. Rooms need a little maintenance ( bathroom floor grout missing in placesand paint repair
Any time we are in Gimli we stay here. Beautiful, clean hotel with friendly staff.
Absolutely terrible experience here. So disappointed and will never set foot in the place again. I have so much to say but I am so upset I simply can’t put it into words yet.
There is a coffee but there is no cream and sugar, so i decided to go Robins donuts. The room was so comftable. Wash room is not bad.
Horrible, when there are conferences or groups there is no way to sleep here. Very noisy and rooms are not well sound proof.
Stayed in a 1brm suite, what a suuuper run down room; nothing but the carpet has been updated since it was built in 1991.Tile in the bathroom is all cracked, the couch is worn and uncomfortable, the TV remote doesnt work over half the time, no channel guide, the HVAC unit is super loud, the 30 year old white Citizen alarm clock has yellowed with age, the bed mattress wasnt very comfortable, the sheets and duvet are cheap and dont breathe at all, there wasnt even a duvet cover, they just put a flat sheet on top of the duvet. The room should be $70, not $130.I hear they have a well run event centre, but the hotel rooms are horrible.
OVERPRICED for the quality of room! We stayed for 1 night and paid 190 plus tax for a double queen room facing the town.Upon entering the room all we can notice is the MUSTY smell and BORING interior of the room. Hate the curtains! There were lots of insects so we couldnt get out of the balcony. The free coffee they provided tasted like a cardboard, was really bad.Not a single complimentary bottled water.Reception should be more welcoming.I expected more for the price we paid.So disappointed! Will not go back!
Arrived by snowmobile. Great service, snoman discount. Clean and well laid out room. Breakfast was great and fantastic to see a manager helping out in the restaurant. Definitely a must go to place if staying in Gimli.
Room was clean and bed was comfortable. But seriously over priced for what we got. The room was extremely outdated, the bathroom was even worse. Thought I was going to fall through the tub when I had a shower. Very disappointed. At a price of over $160 youd expect better than that.
The resort was clean, and the staff at the front desk were very accommodating but there was no microwave in the room and The pool was a really long way from the rooms. Our cleaning lady knocked on our door without a mask, and seemed annoyed at our request for a late check out.
Was supposed to book at Lakeview at Hecla but ended up here instead. I thought it would not be as good but I was wrong! Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and spacious! Got the 2 bedroom suite with a balcony facing the marina. Kids had a great time and enjoyed the pool. Location of the hotel is perfect too. Would definitely be back!
The hotel is excellent. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH RESEVATIONS.COM They are the first that pop up on google and I thought it was the hotel site. It turned out to be in US funds and they have a 20.00 Non-refundable. Not only that is was a higher rate. I had to cancel reservation due to illness and am out 36.39. I called and give them a chance a they blew me off.
Havent stayed here in years but from what I remember, rooms are very nice the hotel is very peaceful and clean. Great place to stay and best in Gimli by far. Also good restaurant and bar and there is a good Robins there as well.
The restaurant was very good and offered good evening dinner specials. The rooms on the second floor were not acceptable. The rooms are getting very tired and were not clean. They had a very musty smell as well. The bottom of the toilet looked it had urine stains around the floor and also long hair on the floor. I asked to change rooms and the reception person was not happy saying it was not their policy to do this during covid. After some insisting he agreed to another room which was not much better still the musty smell and toilet was not clean and around the toilet their looked to be black mould in the grout on the tile. They did put in a room deodorizer which helped a bit but did not remove the smell entirely. Would not stay here again.
The hotel room is a little outdated Definitely not a luxury suite. It was clean and had Everything you needed, e.g. wifi, cable, microwave, hairdryer, coffee station and fridge, for the price of 200 per night and the time of year I wouldnt stay it upholds the higher standards, the restaurant attached to the resort is quite good, and the staff were friendly overall. The location was excellent. Right on the beach. I would return if it was cheaper.
Absolutely gross. So so dirty, you would think because of covid, cleaning would be amped up. NOPE. Floor dirty, walls, dirty. bathroom, dirty. chair dirty. In room binder of amenities, dirty. Pool area, dirty. The shower didnt drain. The lobby looked decent. The pool had so much chlorine that my eyes were burning watching my kids.1 star cause they free dvds you can borrow from the front desk and the Robins donuts is conveniently located off the lobby.I didnt enter the exercise room so no idea and the restaurant was dirty but the food and service were good.Gimli is definitely a beautiful place, outside the hotel.
Room was nice, spacious and clean. Service at the restaurant and lounge was great. Steaks were cut a bit thin for their menu size. Flavour was great though.
Not the greatest experience. Seems like they jacked up the prices, maybe due to Covid or the Mb Trip rebate program being offered, I feel they may have raised the price by the amount of the rebate, which is $100 on a qualifying one night stay. I paid $257 after tax for a King suite with an overly loud A/C unit and dated furnishings, a small pool area with an indoor & outdoor pool and one small hot tub, which IMO was too small for a large resort. On a positive note, the food in the restaurant was very tasty and reasonably priced. When I complained about the loud A/C unit which kept me up at night, I was offered 2 free breakfast vouchers...which was better than nothing I suppose.
Arrived August 22, stayed 3 nights as part of a staycation deal that provides a reduced rate if staying during the week as opposed to a weekday. We stayed in a suite that included a bedroom and an adjoining living area. What was good:Great location, close to restaurants, the beach and various shops.Staff provided suggestions on where to eat that were helpful. What was not so good:There are signs saying that it is newly renovated however I am not sure which parts have received this treatment. We were visiting with two other families and all 3 rooms were dated and definitely nowhere near the luxury seen in some of the pictures you see online. Dont be fooled by pictures posted in the blog linked on their webpage. The fridge was definitely old and hadnt been defrosted in awhile making it so that the freezer was barely usable. The tiles in the bathroom around the toilet were cracked and would move every time they were walked on or the toilet was sat on. The plug in the bathtub was broken making it hard to both plug and unplug the drain in the bath. The room had musty smell and those in our family with allergies noticed having difficulty breathing. They advertise free in room coffee, there is a reason it is free. Save your time and just get coffee at Robins Donuts which is accessable via the lobby. Even better, get coffee from Flatland Roasters and some muffins from Sugar Me Cookie only a short walk away from the hotel. They advertise free movies. These are DVDs not Blu-Ray, which would not be the worst thing except that the DVD players are hooked up to the tv via RCA cables instead of HDMI so the picture quality is terrible. They have a pool (both indoor and outdoorand hot tub. The pools and the hot tub were closed for an entire day, and just the hot tub was closed for an additional day. I realize that sometimes these things are out of their hands, but having it happen twice in the 4 days we were there point to either poor pool maintenance or the need for a new pool. Also what is in their hands, is to make the guest happy by offering something else. No effort was made to provide us with any type of compensation for this other than during checkout we were offered a 15% off voucher for the hotel restaurant. We politely declined.Yes they have views of the lake, however based on the layout I would say most rooms either face the main or side streets with only one side directly facing the lake. From this side you are also treated to a view of the parking lot, and loading dock area where you also get a good view of the staff on their smoke breaks. All of the above would be overlooked, but the website makes it seem like you are getting all the amenities. The use of the word "resort" is also suspect. In the end, it is a hotel like any other (though it didnt even have a continental breakfast), with a good location. Not worth the price.
Giving two stars for location and view! The whole place was outdated , not worth the money spent on run down room . Checked out the pools which I was learning on using as the facilities looked dirty! The window and doors were gross as well as the bathrooms .Beds were soft but air conditioner was loud and hallways and elevator was stifling hot!A maze of hallways to get you out to the street or beach .Would not recommend staying here .
Staff was nice and helpful. Hotel is dated, old furniture with peeling paint, just weak upkeep in general. Bedding was very clean and well made, but old. The overall feeling is that of a roadside motel. But the most unsightly aspect is the hall carpets. Full of old stains, is doesnt seem like it gets steam cleaned at any point, just vacuumed.Overall it doesnt do justice to the $220/night price tag. You can get cleaner, better kept, not-falling-apart hotels for less than that. All they have in their favor is the location, and they take that for granted.
Our family of three loved our stay in our suite. The balcony view was of the town and we loved watching the hustle and bustle. Thank-you to all the staff, especially the GM Michael Lazer for taking care of all of our needs. We appreciated the COVID protocols in place. Our stay will be a yearly stop.
I think the overall condition of the hotel is well below average. Our room felt quite dated and run down. We got a 1 bedroom suite and had old banged-up furniture and appliances in the room, cracks in the walls, a bit of a musty smell, and an old and loud air conditioner. In addition, the indoor pool was rather small and the pool area was shabby and uninviting. The outdoor pool seemed to be unheated, as it was ice cold and practically unusable.Overall, it was definitely not the quality I would expect after spending $210/night on a weekday. I wasnt expecting 5-star, but Ive had much nicer, more modern, and better kept-up hotel stays at discount brands like Days Inn and Comfort Inn, at much lower prices. On the plus side, the location is excellent - right on the beach. The food at the Seagull restaurant was great with good service. Our room has a balcony with partial view of the lake, which was also nice.
Writing this for my mother.Paid for an expected vacation suite. When I arrived, the room was much smaller than advertised - there was no balcony, it was very small and absolutely not worth the money. After talking with the front desk, I learned that you must be extremely specific when booking. If you dont specify the room you want, to the latter, then youll get put in a room thats the bare minimum. No one told me this when I was booking.Normally we stay 2 to 3 times per year, and thus were surprised at the state of the room. My daughter left early, because four people in that room felt like sardines in a can. However, I did receive some of my money back, which was good.
The location was great! The town and the food was also great. The worse thing about our stay was the cleanliness of our “deluxe suite”. For the money we paid just about $300 dollars for one night you would at least expect the basic cleaning to be done. The light over the table was so dusty it came falling down when we touched it. The baseboards corners had caked on dust. The grout around the tub was black. The windows were filthy! The hallway carpets were stained and looked liked they hadn’t been shampooed since they were new. The place is showing it’s age and that is understandable, it is not a new “resort”. The walls looked dirty , the furniture was all scratched up and dated. All it needs is a nice paint job. The same with the carpet. Believe me I have stayed in older places than this but were clean and they weren’t charging that kind of money. I have no problem paying the price if you get at least a clean place. When we mentioned it to the front desk when we were checking out they felt like we didn’t give them a chance to correct it.We were there just one night. We were not going to spent our time having housekeeping dusting the place and washing the windows. I realize they have the location and they are always booked but doesn’t mean that people don’t take notice of the neglect of this beautiful location. We were there 20 years ago it was beautiful! This time not so much! We are not picky guests just the basics like a pen and paper, water would of been nice! I known other guest have mentioned all of this in their reviews but if enough people review this place even if they are the only place in town maybe they will clean it.
Loved our weekend away in Gimli at your resort. Eve at the front desk is a great first impression and she was so friendly, helpful and pleasant to deal with. Thank you for the great time! I have been highly recommending your resort since we checked out.😊
Very disappointing for the price of the hotel, we paid nearly $300 for one night ( which did include a $30 charge for 2 dogs. But, this place shouldnt be charging nowhere near that much for their extremely outdated/ cheap rooms. Not only were the rooms sad looking, but the cleanliness was bad & hygiene products were SUPER LIMITED. We got an 8pm pool time & the pool itself looks like a community waiting pool. This place is run down & wayyyyy to expensive. If the room was $100 + $30 dog fee then that would seem more reasonable... regardless if you stay there, stay on the new side unless you want to feel like you traveled back to the grungy 90s.
Overall I had a good vacation. View nice room nice. Disappointed kitchen had small fridge. We were on second floor. We could hear every footstep. They stomped everytime they walked. Woken up middle of night.
Weve been at this Lakeview several times, going back some 16 years ago. This time we got a suite room, with kitchenette, microwave and dishwasher. An update for the hotel is long due. Understood, under COVID it is not a good moment for renovation or remodeling , although you can tell it was required before the pandemic.Other than that, the service was excellent. There was no room service at all (pandemic), but the ladies at the front desk provided anything required to make our stay better.
After staying a week and half. We had asked about receiving a discount they had posted, Buy 2 nights get one free. They declined to give any discount even though we still had another 2 nights to stay. Said had to book the deal when we made reservation. One of the gentleman staff days, was pretty friendly, but evening front desk young lady was never friendly. You had to clean your own rooms due to covid which did not know. But understandable. So asked after a week if we could switch rooms. That was a no, even though they werent booked up. honestly we just decided to end our trip early.
The employees are nice and very helpful, the bathrooms for the less expensive option were terrible. They didnt have any hand soap, only face moisturiser and body wash. The showers are like a slip and slide of death, I had to skip cause I was afraid I was gunna slip. The shower, at least the one we had, made weird noise if you moved the tiniest bit so it wasnt the least bit comforting. The overall room was okay, the beds were slightly stained with something red and the room smelled strongly of cigarettes. If you want to go to this hotel, splurge a bit and get the more expensive room. It has a small kitchen along with a large bed and higher quality bathroom with a bath matt! The indoor pool was nice and warm but the kids were loud and very annoying (Thats to be expected thoughthey had towels and lounges chairs if you dont like getting wet in the water.Overall, this place was okay but it was like a maze.
Good service.Food looked amazing, they however put pan fried pickerel over steaming rice which makes the fish soggy and disgusting to eat.If I wanted steamed fish I would order steam fish.Destroyed two of our meals.Overall pleasant experience. The burger was terrific. Ruben was great. The drinks and dessert fantastic. The bathroom and tables were clean.Great view of the marina and harbour.
