Lakeside Palace Chinese Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand
Delicious and scrumptious! We were a bit wary because of the ratings but no regrets! Both dishes we had, plum sauce pork ribs and beef stir fry with ginger and spring onion, were on point and very good.
Very good Chinese food! We walked in with no booking on a Saturday night and got a table straight away. Food was delicious, very authentic, and the service was great. We ordered chicken and corn soup, fried chicken wings, spring rolls, Singapore noodles, sweet and sour pork, stir fried chicken and vegetables. Our family, including two young kids, totally enjoyed everything. The portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. Hands down the best Chinese food in Queenstown. Will definitely come back again 👍
We were a family of 8 visitors from Singapore and came to this restaurant just before we leave for home after 10 days in the snow.We were greeted with home cooked goodness and very generous portions. Flavour was on point on everything we ordered and we were so satisfied compared to the very expensive and average fare we had at other restaurants in wanaka.Super friendly manager made us feel very welcome too!Highly recommended!
Excellent food! We got the banquet for 2 and it was perfect. We are so full. Everything was tasty and cooked spot on. Staff really lovely too!
Delicious corn and chicken soup, lemon chicken and crispy beef!
Excellent food and service :Definitely recommend the sizzling lamb and Sichuan boiled fish
Excellent Chinese spot, feels just like home. Staff are very kind and lobster was awesome. Definitely would come back again to try more!
Great restaurant for dinner or a quick bite. No lines, food came out quickly, great service and reasonable prices. Would recommend when other places are full of lines
best place to enjoy a quiet relaxing dinner impressed every time !
Hands down the best Chinese food in town. Service is great and fast. Must try items:- crispy pork ribs (spicy)- sweet & sour pork- crispy garlic prawn- black pepper beef- chicken fried noodle- tofu & mushroom
We had not booked anywhere and stumbled upon LPC. We were slightly hesitant but a group exiting the restaurant could not stop raving about everything. They were packed but kindly seated us and despite how busy they were our orders were taken and wine arrived. These guys work hard..not stop..efficient, brilliant service and every meal coming out was piping hot and so tasty we were drooling. We will be coming back before we leave..Excellent guys..Thank you.
Very delicious food and very friendly service. All their dishes are well cooked and well-seasoned. My favourite dish is spicy deep-fried pork ribs, its so savoury and tasty. My kids favourite is sweet & sour pork. Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in town 👍
2 hour wait, very chewy and oily food, not much flavour.
Worst Chinese restuarent Ive ever tried. Very bad quality, taste foods with high price. 4 Boiled dumplings 13 $. No dipping sauce, just served soy sauce bottle. Poor service. Unsatisfied.
Lovely staff, fastest service, overall just amazing :))
The best dinner I’ve had in Queenstown! Went to lone star the night before and was highly disappointed so we tried this cute wee place tonight and did not regret it. The place itself was so homely and welcome. The staff were very polite, the food even better. We ordered takeaway and it was with us not long after. Another plus is that it’s super cheap and affordable!
It was amazing. Great atmosphere amazing food and fast staff I would recommend it to anyone in Queenstown
Friendly staff, potions all right, food served fast but not worth for the value. My fried rice looks sad ,king scrampie prawns with crushed garlic doesnt looks like as it described
This is the best Chinese restaurant in town I would say. The price is reasonable with a big portion of food even just medium size. The fried beef noodle is amazing, very local Cantonese flavour, the boss is very welcome and friendly. The numb spicy fish slice is AMAZING! I would highly recommend people go there especially those who are after a local Cantonese restaurant with yummy spicy food as second choice.
Had food delivered, delivery was perfect, but the food was dry, tasteless an the wontons way over cooked, sorry to say, but first time food has not been good, definitely not worth the $80.00 it cost
We had many menus and the each single food is amazing. Reasonable price and friendly staffs. Recommended this place whoever visit in Queenstown!! We will visit again definitely 👍
Great food, great location and great service!Tried two seafood dishes with my partner and the size was so huge we had to take some home!Would recommend and definitely worth every dollar.Thank you very much!
Food taste was good but the quantity for the price charged was very poor $28 for 8 small prawns was exorbitant and for the same price10 thin small slices of beef was not expected. We left and had to go to another restaurant for dinner.
Authentic chinese cuisine and excellent service. Food is great and generous serving. The owner will even serve your order and makes sure you have what you need and happy with your food.
Ordered a 3lbs-ish crayfish which could make into two dishes. The taste and texture could tell that it was freshly wild caught. Price could be a little more reasonable.
Yummy, Authentic, flavoursome and wholesome food and well presented dishes. Friendly, welcoming staff and efficient service. Just what we needed for a chilly evening out. Highly recommended. Will definitely go here again.
Nice, authentic Chinese food...the dumplings and fried Garlic King Prawns are a must try..the service is also quite fast!!!
Wonderful service and amazing food. Big portion sizes. Loved the hot garlic chilli lobster and ginger spring onion abalone. Will definitely come again next time i am in queenstown
Excellent and very very satisfying food! Loved the deep fried squid and the dimsums. Fried rice with the sizzling spice chicken gravy. Definitely recommend.
If you are looking for amazing Chinese food this is the place to go!! Staff was very friendly and the food was really tasty too. Quite a bargain as well compared to all the other restaurants. Highly recommend!
Really affordable Kai, delicious and fast. Great service from the friendly staff with a wide variety of food. The ratings should be a lot higher than it is. I will highly recommend to other fellow travellers. Well done 😁🙌👍
A good night at this restaurant with delicious Chinese food. My partner was also very happy. The staff was nice and friendly. Definitely come back, so if youre looking for great Chinese food, go there...
Ordered the pork belly 回锅肉 dish and fried rice 操饭, pork tasted weird, veges were okay but the rice was yuck. Dont recommend at all, especially when youre a fan of Sichuan cuisines.. very disappointing and extremely overpriced :(
Solid Cantonese cooking. Came for dinner with some friends and ordered scallops, prawns, spinach with garlic, braised tofu and steamed chicken with ginger. Great food, excellent service. Highly recommend.
Delicious fish😋 and friendly staff! highly recommended!
The google rating for this place doesn’t represent how good the food is. We came expecting average food but to our surprise, the dishes we ordered were full of flavor, smokey, balanced and not oily or salty. This is queenstown hidden gem and we definitely will come back to eat again.
Over cooked and over priced Crayfish. Peking Duck very expensive for poorly prepared. Duck skin not crisp. No leg or breast meat only dry meatless ribs and neck. Crispy beef floury and not crispy and Szechuan chicken soggy with the size of meat pieces grossly inconsistent. Very poor service and dishes served on cold plates with rice arriving 10mins after meat dishes. Two couples left without ordering through lack of attention.
Very authentic Chinese food in Queenstown. The service was good but can a little slow when they have large Chinese tour groups. The portion can be a little small but it’s Queenstown. Highly recommended for your Chinese food cravings!
We like the taste of Blue Cod fish with steam chili style cook
Our meals had very little flavor. The chicken was dry in all meals. The wontons has no flavor. The spring rolls were the best thing but a little greasy.
Located on the second floor, this restaurant suitable for big tour group.
Renovations look amazing! Food is still pretty good! M portions are perfect for sharing. And the tanks at the entrance with blue cod, crayfish & Paua are super exciting to look at.
Food quality is ok, but portion is small with its price. We ordered bu-er tea but if came with weird flavour (old cupboard smell), not pleased with that.
Ordered hot and sour tofu costing $32nz. This was without doubt the worst dish I have eaten from a restaurant. I couldn’t even eat half the meal as It tasted like I was swishing a glass of salt water around my mouth. Disgusting - extremely overpriced for the poor quality and low quantity received, stay away.
Been to many Chinese restaurants around New Zealand and overseas. I suggest you save the money and dine somewhere else, Food was over price for the amount of portion size you get. The dishes I had was below average. Overall it wont be on my list when I visit Queenstown again.
Reasonable authentic CHINESE cooking. Dishes r offered in medium or large servings. Dishes r a bit on the Cantonese side but they do offer spicy Szechuan. I didn’t get a chance to order the spicy ones. Food is out in good time. This is located by the harbor front and they do try to seat by the windows. Clean and simple place.
This place is a joke. The food was Overpriced. Ordered the Mongolian beef at $32 & had 4 pieces of beef each between my partner and I the rest was all vegetables. Also ordered the duck, on the upside the duck was very nice. Then we went back the next night for the duck it was not very good at all! I wouldnt come back to this place as the food is not great & its over priced.
Agree. Dont listen to other bad posts. Just got home from having the best meal. Had a wide variety of dishes as we were in a group. All very high standard and just delicious. As fir the service. Exceptional. Waitress was so friendly and went out of her way to accommodate our requests. AAA. Definitely go again.
Good food, the waitress serve us with smile... reasonable price.
Service was incredibly fast, even though we entered just after a tour group of about 30 people (they all got their food very quickly too). Staff were friendly.Street frontage was a bit underwhelming, we werent really sure what we were getting into when going up the stairs. Glad we did though.Food wasnt amazing, but it was solid.
