Lake Proctor Wilderness Area - Hiking area in Sanford, United States
Fun hiking trails for humans and horses.
Muddy, nice lake views
Quiet little hiking are surrounding a marshy lake.
Lake Proctor is beautiful. Shaded hike on pine straw covered paths.
Lots of wildlife and a convenient parking area. Birds were everywhere. Great place for photos as well.
Went Saturday about 3pm gate was locked.
Enjoyed riding bikes on these trails
So picturesque. Bald eagle nest right by the lake
Its a nice place to take a nice hike. You could walk multiple trails.
Cool place to hike
Amazing variety of communities: scrub, flatwoods, oak hammock, forest, wetlands... Dogs permitted, please leash your pet, and leave no trace.
Rough trails very natural. Trump2020
Nice trails, both long and short. A little swampy during the rainy season but nothing you cant get around. Wildlife is nice. Eagles, deer, owls, snakes, Pileated Woodpeckers & other birds etc..
Lake Proctor is my favorite local trail- its very secluded and quiet. There are four marked trails- red, orange, blue and yellow. A portion of the red trail has been under construction for a couple of years with no signs of new developments- it looks like the project may have been abandoned. The trails are beautiful but it seems like there has been very little maintenance this year (which is understandable). We may bring out some small trimmers next time were out to clear some of the more bothersome blockages.
This is just a trail. The trail is nice but at one point it isnt clearly labeled and it makes it tough to navigate. Because we were with 2 small children it became unsettling and we turned back.
Nice hike with the family this morning. We enjoyed the trails at Lake Proctor. We will be back!
Loved it. Great trails.
Beautiful, uncrowded, well maintained
Great hike .flat terrain.
Yellow trail was muddy at the beginning so we didnt go on it. Some of the trail was sand and some was pine straw.
Nice, easy hike. Some of the markets arent clear so ensure you have a map. Covered 60% ... some nice views around the lake.
Great Trail!
Nice hiking with pretty trails around lakes. Be careful of ticks, the last couple times Ive come here I ended up with one on me.
Best to stay on the forested trails. In the summer, it can be rather boring and hot in the open.
Beautiful, quiet, well maintained trails along a a lake. I had to cut my hike short due to inclement weather. I cant wait to return and hike the rest of this trail.
Nice park to launch a boat. Get there early on the weekend, fills up fast.
Nice little nature spot between Titusville and Sanford
There are 3 color trails: orange, red and blue. The red trail has a sandy straight portion which eventually you make that right turn which you can either merge right into the blue trail or continue on the red trail. Really enjoyed all trails for running.
Great hike, beautiful wetlands!
Love this place!!
At the end of the red trail is a beautiful majestic live oak. One of the oldest, most sprawling one Ive ever seen!
Good hiking, well maintained. Impassable by bike due to the small branches on the trail.
Nice trail to walk. Just remember to wear sunblock. Some places are out in the sun
Nice area to hike with a variety of trails ranging in length. Only half of the hiking trails are covered. It can get pretty hot when not in the covered region.
Great place to take a hike but end of Red Trail kind of rough.
Wonderful place for a quick hike or an all day exploration. In the last week I have hiked several times there and I have yet to see any other people. The sugar sand can get deep so consider hiking barefoot.
