Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort in Nyachera

A wonderful lodge right on the shore of Lake Bunyonyi. The staff was exceptionally nice and the food was great. The rooms overlooked the lake and were also great.

Nice event excellent from all of points of views.Accommodations, services, gladness, food, evenings in the lounge, breakfasts on the terrass with splendid views... A real paradise. Many thanks to Titus and his team.

I always want to leave positive reviews for businesses but I cant for Rock Resort; a staff member stole $240 cash out of our two rooms. We had a lovely weekend until checkout when I realized my money was missing from my wallet inside my purse that had been in our room. The lodge owner didnt respond to my WhatsApp message informing him of the theft and made no attempt to learn about what happened or try to fix it. A very disappointing outcome to the weekend.

Very beautiful hotel next to the lake. The rooms all face the lake and have lake sunset views, which are gorgeous. Room has a lot of light.Very slow check in with unnecessary briefing. Just wanted to go to the room but they kept me waiting. Nights maybe a little cold and no blankets are offered.

Awesome resort on the lake! We really enjoyed our stay. Amazing views from the room, wonderful swimming dock, plus it’s really the perfect place watch the sunset. The lake itself is beautiful, would recommend taking a walk along the small paths around the lake (doable by yourself without a guide). Just know that it seems to be a bit more on the expensive side for the lake.

Very nice location, but the road to get there is in bad shape and needs work.

Very good lodge with excellent people very friendly and welcoming at all times, every time I get a chance to visit Bunyonyi, I cant miss this place, the food is supper nice 😀 just the access road to the hotel is not that nice, it needs some works and it will make the place a paradise at Lake Bunyonyi

An incredible paradise in the remotest part of Lake Bunyonyi. I have to visit every year or as often as possible. I have only seen such big beds in the Kings Palace. Great staff and a wonderful host. Thanks Robert Basiima for having us always!

I stayed there with my girlfriends for a weekend and we had the best fun ever. Rooms are very specious with big beds, food is nice and lovely staff who made our stay memorable. The sun downer cruise was epic. I would love to go back.

Actually I enjoyed each and every thing there, even now i miss everything there for sure. Swimming, view, sunset, beautiful decorations, local language, crayfish pizza, etc... even the business was very very okay. I thank Mr.Robert and his family cause *ni ABANA BEZA* GOD Bless them, with the works of their hands.

Such an awesome experience at this hotel. The rooms are so well kept and high quality, the staff is beyond helpful and all go out of their way to make your stay as great as possible. Located right on the water with access to swim and docks for boats.

Located right on the water and has great views from all around. Very welcoming staff and good food. The shop inside the main area has a nice selection of local art and crafts. The room was spacious and had a nice porch. There’s a nice dock connected to the hotel to either relax or swim from.

Very beautiful place, mornings are foggy and lake view is awesome....... bonfire by the lake shore is really enjoyable...Rooms are extra spacious....staffs are friendly and cooperative... the road to reach the place is a bit tricky during rainy weather so better go with a 4 wheel drive to avoid any issues....its a place you can escape to.... the feel of being surround by nature, nature and nature.....you can do Kayaking , speed boat drive etc...

Reception and restaurant just at the water edge, very nice welcoming and excellent staff.The room had a large panoramic window and was beautifully decorated. Nothing fancy, but with lots of attention to detail. The balcony in front of nice just the right place to wind down

Nice accomodation, beautiful views.Be careful with the charges for activities. If you pay directly at the activity center, it is roughly 1/4 times than what offered by hotel.If you are travelling with the group, I suggest to choose buffet and agree on the pricing in advanced otherwise you will definitely be surprised with the bill amount at the time of checkout.

Absolutely wonderful resort! If Im lucky enough to have return visit to Kabale Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort will definitely be my first choice place! We enjoyed the breakfast, boat cruise, The manager was so helpful together with the restaurant attendants. What a nice memory and experience!

Been to Bunyonyi Rock Resort several time and find it even more stunning. Its serene, very peaceful, with amazing sunsets, great food and very friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

A last shangri la for those who seek solace and tranquility. Almost like a dream place.. Best location on banks of Lake Bunyonyi with a bay exclusive to the resort.Best views in the area. Good food and very hospitable staff. Resort offers complimentary kayaking with brand new equipment and well trained staff. Fishing from their jetty was a bonus with little tilapias to catch. The resort organises trips to islands and lake excursion at very nominal prices while a dedicated guide keeps giving interesting information.We travelled with small kids and found the place very accomodating for food etc.Dining area overlooks the lake and a breakfast under the sun is not to be missed.Rooms arevery clean, spacious with good washrooms, crisp white linen and full view of lake.The resort will soon open water villas, another unique feature.Overall a great place to stay and value for money.

I enjoyed my very short stay and I really liked that the manager Lawrence is very accommodative. the only issue was with the food prices in dollars which is not fair for us local tourists.

Very beautiful place with rooms with good standard, great food and service. I really recommend this place before a lot of others. It is a little longer drive (4km extraon the bumpy road but well worth it.

I went to this Resort with 5 friends of mine. The staff is amazing and the chef cooks really good food. Nevertheless, the manager was nonexistent. They wanted to charge us doubled price of the entire bill. For 2 hours we checked all the messy bill with one super kind person of the staff. The manager never showed up.Also, they are different kinds of rooms. Rooms on the pictures are the most luxury ones but you can get also less recent room without a great view and nice commodities. Even though you get the luxury rooms, you are never sure to get hot shower or a little bit of pressure.All the rooms are charged the same.If you go by car, be sure that it did not rain the day before because its a dirt road. Otherwise take a boat.Overall, I wont go back. Byoona Amagara is a much better deal.

Poor value-for-money and might ruin your vacationWe were supposed to stay here 3 nights but instead had to cancel after two nights due to poor experience. Below a list of reasons why you should not spend 162 USD / Night here:1. You wont get peace - there is a construction work on-going to make the resort bigger that starts ~7am and lasts until late afternoon. Also, in the night time either the guards or some other random nearby residents made a lot of noise right next to the our room. Also, nearby island plays loud music from speakers the whole day2. Showers not working - the shower seems to have pumping issues and so water just isnt properly coming out (much worse than in cheaper resorts / lodges). Takes roughly 7minutes to get hot water.3. Poor accessibility - its really hard (and dangerous during rains due to muddy road, hence possibility for land slidesto get to the location as its the furthest hotel on the lake from the single muddy road that takes you there (5km from the first hotels - but takes roughly 20-30mins by car depending if you arrive during day or night). Much closer resorts / hotels with similar or clearly cheaper price points exist that just are just much better (i.e. BirdNest resort)4. Bad wifi - it took ~2mins to load Google front page5. Bad service - They were in general nice but the way they handled the above issues was just not how it should be when you pay 162 USD / night. Firstly, they promised to fix the shower after we complained but never ended up doing so. Secondly they promised to fix the wifi but never ended up doing so - this we understand as there were some network issues not dependent on them but they should have not promised to fix it. Thirdly, we used their laundry services and asked that they would return the clothes as dry as possible next morning. Instead the clothes were completely wet implying that they started to wash the clothes not only next morning (when they had to return them to us).6. Payment / refund issues - when we asked to cancel our third night and asked for a discount for above points, they ended making us pay for the full two days, and for the service charges for the third day. So in the end, we ended up paying 177 USD / night. Furthermore, they dont take credit cards (due to internet connection issuesbut offer to pay through a link where you will end up paying additional 4% service fee. Also, it took us ~5 hours of our time to cancel address the above points and get to a solution where we pay for a night more than initially agreed.All in all, the hotel seems to be under construction and some of the processes are just not clear for them, hence would highly advise not to stay here. Especially as there are just so much better / cheaper options available.

It was a lovely spot down on the lake. Good views, quite relaxing, and worth taking a boat trip around the lake from the hotel.The staff were great. Very friendly & helpful.Food was good, with enough variety to keep us happy for the few days we were there.Our only complaint, although by no means a deal breaker, was that our room was quite noisy - both from surrounding rooms & hotel guest foot traffic.We had a great stay here.

Beautiful layout and location. Rooms are clean and open with large windows and amazing view. Staff was so welcoming and caring to us. Service is excellent. We arrived by boat in pouring rain and staff greeted us with umbrellas, towels and prepared a chiminea for us at dinner. Dinner and bar have good selection.

This hotel is located on the quiet shores of Lake Buyonyi, surrounded by mountains and fields. The sunset was one of the most beautiful I have seen in Uganda so far, same goes for the morning mist over the lake. We even spotted a beaver in the waters. The hotel offers several decks for relaxing in the sun or tacking a dip in the lake. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we only got a room in the new side house, which turned out to be really cold at night. All ammenities were clean though. For our next stay, we would choose the rooms with a view over the lake. The food was good, the dining hall beautifully decorated with wooden furniture and a view over the lake. Come prepared though, the lake lies high up in the mountains and it gets quite cold at night.

Loved this little resort. Perfect get away on lake Bunyoni. Enjoy the food, swimming, and cutest beds.

Only had a chance to get a quick lunch: the crayfish masala was excellent -- slightly spicy (and I love it that way), but in any case, absolutely delicious with rice. The location is great, in fact, do try to take a walk around the hill. The design and layout of the resort is well thought through and the manager will have a great, informed chat with you if you get a chance.

Such an amazing place. Definitely our favorite place to stay in this region.Staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is relatively good. Make sure you try the juices, which are made from freshly pressed fruit.The rooms are nice and spacious, and they all share the same fantastic view of the lake. In the late afternoon, you can sit by the lake and watch the kingfishers dive for fish

Great view and amazing staff. The location is on the edge of the lake and they offer nice boat tours around the lake.We arrived late at night and the staff took care of all the accommodation and was extremely helpful.

The ambience, the setting is very beautiful. It is private. The rooms are clean , the staff is very friendly. I would go back any day. The only improvement I would suggest is wi fi. I like the no TV.
