I’m so excited for a cafe nearby that serves the best French dip & Spanish lattes in town. The birds nest was also a family favorite. The sweetest couple that have opened up this bistro who go out their way to greet everyone that walks through the door.10/10 recommend this spot.

My partner and i live in the area so we decided to have our date day here. We had a wonderful cozy brunch here today. Atmosphere is set with nice plants and books. The food along with the coffee was well presented and delicious. We will definitely be back.

This little cafe is welcoming, cozy and nostalgic. The cappuccino that I ordered was perfect and delicious as we sat watching the rain quietly sprinkle over the historic neighborhood while listening to relaxing music in the background.Paired with a good book, Lair Hill Bistro is a whole vibe.

Looked great until I opened it up to see what was causing the strange taste...Well, that would explain it. The avocado was very overripe brown, which gave the sandwich an off taste. Enough so, that I wound up throwing most of it away.

Cute little bistro in the middle of a pretty residential area. The food choices are not vast but what they do offer is prepared well. I had a soup and salad combo and everything tasted nice. It was served with some bread and butter as well. The pricing is also fine, for the quantity provided. Its a nice cosy spot to visit with a friend for a meal. The decor inside is eclectic with antiques and curios, a kind of vibe that I like. My server was very friendly.

We stopped by for breakfast this morning and this neighborhood bistro is just adorable. We sat outside on the quiet street and enjoyed friendly and prompt service. Our omelets were good and reasonably priced. The potatoes, bread and jellies were excellent. I cant believe Ive been walking by this place for a year and havent stopped before now! Well be back soon.

Found this lovely little bistro using Google Maps just down the hill from OHSUs Casey Eye Institute. Fun stuff on the walls brought in by customers and neighbors. Food was wonderful and it was nice to be surprised by a great place to eat just by chance.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It has good coffee and good snacks. However the service is slow and the atmosphere seems very dated and gives mixed messages. They sell some wine and it hints they might have some antiques. I feel like the place needs to choose an identity and stick with it. That wouldnt stop me from getting coffee there if someone else choose the place but I wouldnt pick it unless I was right next door or something.

Cool place. A bit old. But some cool charm and sweet place to hang out. Cross between an old style coffee shop and an old style wine bar held inside an antique store. I dont know. Its funky but cool people. Sometimes live music but just local talent.

The food is really good. A lot of gluten free options. My one complaint is that it takes FOREVER to get your food. My table of 3 yesterday waited over 40 minutes to get our lunch. If a meal is going to take that long to prepare, the table should be offered bread, or chips on the house... Something to hold them over. If you want the "business" lunch crowd, you need to find a way to speed up the weekday lunch hour because waiting in the restaurant for 40 minutes on a meal is far too long for those that need to get back to the office.

I ate and hung out at this place often when I was a student in the area. It has a cozy atmosphere and consistently good service. The coffee is good by Portland standards which are high, the sandwiches are terrific, and they have a strong assortment of alcoholic beverages if its that time of day. Its usually easy to find street parking in the area, and in the summertime they move a few tables outside.

Gone there about 10 times in the last three months and there is a few of the staff who need a customer service wake up call. Never had a problem with the food but after waiting 25 minutes today in a seat right next to the counter where all three of the employees passed our table constantly during that time while never once acknowledge us in any way nor greeted us. I get that there were four other customers there but after 25 minutes of being ignored we left and wont return.

Lair Hill Bistro has wonderful friendly faces and yummy food. The vibe is pretty chill and sometimes a little different depending on the music they have on - like the time they played French cafe music while I ate lunch. Breakfast, lunch, happy hour, or dinner... its all great.

The Lair Hill Bistro is a wonderful slice of old Portland charm. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, you can count on the Lair Hill to provide delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether youre just looking for a real sandwich and salad for lunch or want a nice dinner or just some happy hour snacks between, theyve got you covered. Personal favorites include the Genoa sandwich on como, the turkey peach chutney on sourdough, and their fabulous meatloaf.

Super friendly, cozy place with great home cooked food and a full bar and wine bottle selection. I love coming in for their down-to-earth happy hour. Usually the bartender asks me what I want to drink for the happy hour "martini" special, which hasnt been limited to a traditional martini. They seem to have low-key music inside most weeknight evenings. Saddest part is they arent open on the weekends whatsoever.

This is quickly becoming my favorite Bistro in Portland Metro Area. Perfectly located near OHSU. Shout out to Alana, she has subpar customer service as well as professionalism. I will definitly be coming here for lunch and beverages before each business appointment - I strongly advice you to try this Bistro over any restaurants in this particular area!

The decor is fun, but the food is deeply bland and unimaginative. There is one friendly server and everyone else is aloof and only barely civil much of the time, which frankly makes me uncomfortable. Its not a very welcoming atmosphere.

Ecletic atmosphere is right! The decor is spot on, the service was above par, and the caesar I ordered came on a very large plate, it was sized properly for the $8 price tag. Will be visiting again.

I love the swiss cheese bagel. Prices are good and coffee drinks are pleasant. The chai is also good. I also love that they offer a pretty good selection of food and the full bar doesnt gurt either. The atmosphere is quaint and the staff is friendly. Great place!

Very nice cafe. Old timey. I love the food. Although, it can be a bit pricey for what you get here. Maybe I am used to huge amounts of food with ok flavors. Here it is surely quality over quantity. I love the beer selection and the potatoes. Very nice people too.

I eat here on a nearly weekly basis for lunch.Employees are helpful and friendly. Food is usually pretty tasty. Beer selection isnt bad for a lunch-type spot.My only gripe is the portion size can sometimes leave a little to be desired. I get the chicken caesar salad a lot which is around $10, and sometimes its a pretty pathetic amount of lettuce with a few croutons and slices of chicken.

The food here is so-so. Theyve revamped their menu with more offerings which is cool, but the food quality is still pretty low especially for a quaint little bistro. Also the rice crispy treats are always stale and tasteless.

Very "chill" and relaxing as my wife says. This is an absolutely lovely place for a beer and some food. It has has a very European neighborhood cafe vibe, but an expansive menu. Not a huge beer selection for Portland though. The place is charming enough, and they have IPA on draft so not a huge issue with the beer selection. My wife and I just visited for happy hour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Love this place. I am a regular, they have wonderful food, baked goods, beer, wine and drinks. I go for lunch, regularly after work as well, and have taken a bunch of friends and family members. They all love it. My favorite is the broiled chicken with a raspberry glaze. Yum. They have gluten free food and drinks as well!
