Grest display of the way past pioneer lived and worked
Found this place by accident, initially want to kill some time, ended up spent almost two hours in there. Lovely place lots to see. Hosts are so good and knowledgable, learnt a lot of history.
Entry was $10, very good for value. Staff were very kind and exhibits were very interesting. There were free drinks and food. The lamingtons were the best

A step back in time to view real Australian History. There are often special events that take place. When I visited it was part of the Laidley Heritage weekend. You can walk around the grounds and view historical buildings, such a church school post office and even a jail cell. Also on display are many different horse and buggy drays, carts and carriages. One of the features of The Pioneer Village are the live blacksmith and woodcarving displays.Well worth a visit, and Laidley has some lovely parks, and Lake Dyer.
Driven past a thousand times.Well worth the stop. Excellent.
Truly Fabulous Displays of Pioneer Homes, Tools & Day to Day Memorabilia. The Volunteers Are Super Friendly, Knowledgeable & Helpful.I Love That Places Like This Exist. Bringing History Alive, Through The Hard Work & Dedication of Volunteers.Thoroughly Recommend You Visit Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum, When Next In The Area.
Fantastic place ..so much history...had a great day ...
Great collective range of early Australian live in a village.
It has something for everybody. A Pioneer Museum with over 10000 items from ladies wedding dresses clothing from bygone eras baby christening gowns a general store which doubles as a telephone exchange post office and despatch facility tractors and farm machinery kids toys from the 1950s kitchen and homewares. Easy to spend 4 hours there.
What a fantastic place to visit if your ever in Laidley Queensland and want to head back in time well this is the place to be its really well kept and your free to roam around which makes this experience very satisfying thanks for a great day. Craig
Lots of interesting old stuff and volunteers who will talk to you about local history.
Very informative great experience , friendly workers
Ive been to a lot of these old historical museums and this was the best. It has a bit of everything. Old buildings, slab hut, tools, machinery, furniture, electrical gear, history, diffent old professions, school, etc, etc. Even a horse skeleton. All very well presented with lots of labels explaining what everything is. As you enter most buildings you trigger a recording that fills the room with old world chatter. Highly recommended.
Not to be missed, fantastic
Great place to visit. Volunteers very helpful
Had a great couple of hours exploring the many buildings and displays. Volunteers were great, very friendly and informative. A very reasonable $10 per adult entry fee. Would definetly visit again.
Lovely informative historical museumWorth the entry feeGreat insights by Volunteer Barry , enjoyable couple of hours
This is an amazing place to visit, full of history and on the day we went Ron was so helpful and fully of information. We had a cuppa in the old school eating area and shared quite a few stories with 2 other gentlemen who work there.Overall, brilliant be sure to call in and say hello if you enjoy nostalgia. We spent around 2 hours there, so much to see.
Amazing and very interesting. The staff on site were extremely knowledgeable and helpful
Fantastic group of volunteers with a very interesting pioneer village. Dont miss the tractor museum either.
An amazing range of pioneer memorabilia from old tools and wagons to a hospital set up- glad I didnt live back then! Really enjoyed it well worth the consession rate of $8 ea. Plenty of free parking under shade trees as well.
Nice reconstruction of items of common life from the late 19th to mid 20th century. Farriers workshop, medical equipment, General stores, tractors and transport, and a lot of farming equipment. Staff are helpful and the displays intelligently laid out.
Iβm bit disappointed they didnβt particularly all walks of life I got my questionmarks from the advertising to tour operators Promoting Laidley pioneer village and museum We take Technology for granted a Internet. back old days use chalkboards books old days Laidley city grow heβs gonna start doing advertising to get people in Laidley City council on Internet to move it forward start promoting get the tours operators of the backs start doing Something out of ordinary
The Village is open until 3pm. It is run by volunteers. Admission includes a free cuppa. Several of the exhibits include recordings to provide additional information and details. Wheel chair accessibility is limited in some exhibits. Theres a blacksmiths barn with a working forge. The exhibits are all separate so theres walking involved from displays. If you enjoyed the experience you should make a donation in the refreshment/rest area.
Had a great night at this incredible location with Pariah Paranormal. The volunteers were lovely and the village is quite quaint and relaxing. On a side note we had lots of paranormal activity which was awesome!
Attended the Village of the Doomed. Was a fantastic night!
A very unique look back in time with lots of community spirit from the volunteers and I would highly recommend a visit to the Laidley Pioneer Village.
The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. But a bit small and once you have seen it once it doesnt change that much between the years.
Lots of history here. Lots cool old stuff. Very interesting display of old historic goodies. Massive array of articles. Takes awhile to take it all in. Allow more than a few hours
Wonderful place to look back at our heritage of what we used in years gone by. Information on items is a great advantage as some are very unusual. Definetly worth coming out to have a look.
A great place to visit. The folks running the place are to be commended for doing a spectacular job in preserving that which otherwise would be lost. For me it was wonderful to be reminded off smells and sounds from my childhood. The smell of the pioneers church , the creak of the floor boards and the smell of oil and engines in the old tractor display. To see how people lived only 3 or 4 generations ago, the feel of the hand sawn timber and the breeze through the floor boards is a just a slight indication of how hard the people that forged our young country lived. It was also great to see many items with "made in Australia" or similar on them. We should learn from our past.Well done.
A step back in time. A fairly broad range of historical items on display.
Very nice, presented well, unfortunately Ickes bit small but very worth while visit
Presentation was good, displays were detailed, food was good, competition was enjoyable. More kids activities would have been good. The entertainment was good for the elder audience but not so for the kids
Very friendly, and knowledgeable volunteer staff, awesome artworks for sale by Rusticated-art
We have been a few times - we love it. Theres always something the kids notice each time that maybe they didnt see last time. Wonderful place! The volunteers are all fantastic and friendly, very welcoming.
Wow!! What a great place to find out all about the history and lifestyle of the early settlers in the surrounding Lockyer Valley! Lots of artifacts to see and great volunteers to help answer any questions! Allow atleast 2 hours to explore all the different antique artefacts.
Love the hostory and infomation provided for all the buildings and displays. The live display of blacksmiths and corn shucking were very informative and the volunteers are very knowledgeable on so many of the historical items and buildings as well as etiquette of times of old. A great day out.
