The Mall، Mall Rd, Anarkali Bazaar Lahore, Punjab 54000, Pakistan, Chūniān
Expansive museum showcasing Pakistan's cultural heritage, from ancient tools to contemporary art.
An amazing, beautiful and historical place with on one there to guide you. You enter the museum and you see a security guard at the gate, then as you keep exploring the museum you find one or two standing in each room. The museum closes at 4pm SHARP and the guards keep telling you to leave starting from 3:30pm which is really annoying. Normally in places like these around the world, they close the doors at closing time and let the visitors inside for atleast an hour. There arent any guides available insides and they dont give you any brochures or maps to navigate the museum. Is really sad to see how this amazing place is being run by the government. The amazing treasure inside this place needs proper advertisement and professional control.A must visit place if you are in Lahore ..
Beautiful place!!! You can found three differents cultures here, really awesome!!!
It was an amazing experience, tickets are pretty reasonable Rs160. the museum is pretty vast, though they could certainly improve the indoor lighting and description on the displayed antiquity. Better to keep a water bottle with you and wear comfy shoes. There is a tuck shop outside the museum.
Adventure Tour with studentsThe visit to the museum was thrilling as well as an enriching experience for me. The artwork, culture and civilization of many nations, history of many people are educated us their efforts. This visit to the National Museum has left a long life impression on my mind. The building of the museum also give historical look. Inshallah We will visit again in the 2nd month of 2023. I also recommend to all history lover to visit.

Very nice building with interesting information. The price difference between locals and foreign is quite abrupt (50 vs 1000), but it is still a reasonable price for the experience.

Good museum of heritage of Buddhist Hindus Sikhs and Muslims plus you can experience cultur of all Pakistans provinces and old and new art but unfortunately their is nothing about independence movement of Pakistan their is nothing about the great Iqbal, the great Qaid and other prominent revolutionary people who got Independence for Pakistan.
What a wonderful experienceMy favourite section was The Coin Gallery bcz from childhood its was my hobby to collect old and foreign coins. I also had some of these coinsILahore Museum was originally established in 1865–66 on the site of the current Tollinton Market – a hall built for the 1864 Punjab Exhibition. The present building was constructed as a memorial of Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria held in 1887, and financed through a special public fund raised on the occasion. The foundation stone of the new museum was laid on 3 February 1890 by Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Queen Victorias grandson. On its completion in 1894, the entire museum collection was transferred to present building with its new name as Jubilee Museum. The museums collection was later shifted in 1894 to its present location on The Mall, in Lahores British-era core. The present building was designed by the well-known architect from Lahore, Sir Ganga Ram.Rudyard Kipling’s father, John Lockwood Kipling, was one of the museums first curators, and was succeeded by K. N. Sitaram. In 1948, as part of the partition of Punjab, the artefacts of the museum were divided between the newly formed countries of Pakistan and India, with the museum retaining about 60% of its collection. The rest was given to India and eventually housed at the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Chandigarh, built specifically for this purpose. Over 250,000 visitors were registered at the Lahore museum in 2005.Source : Wikipedia

Not very special but a good place for those who love history. Especially when you enter and goes your side, you get to see a little bit about the Stone Age.
Lahore Museum is a famous and important place to be included in travel plan while visiting Lahore.A must visit for everyone from all thre walks of life.Museum is located at a prime location on the Mall Road. Environment inside is calm and peaceful.Museum is well managed by staff. Actually lot of hindu culture and their religious leaders statues. Ancient dress, weapons, artworks etc.

The Lahore Museum (Urdu: عجائب گھر لاہور; "Lahore Wonder House"), is a museum located in Lahore, Pakistan. Founded in 1865 at a smaller location and opened in 1894 at its current location on The Mall in Lahore during the British colonial period, Lahore Museum is Pakistans most visited and famous museums and remains one of the major museums in South Asia. The museum, along with the Zamzama Gun located directly in front of the building, were made famous in the celebrated British novel Kim, written by Rudyard Kipling – whose father was one of the museums earliest curators. The museum is now also renowned for its extensive collection of Buddhist art from the ancient Indo-Greek and Gandhara kingdoms. It also has collections from the Mughal Empire, Sikh Empire and the British Empire in India.
One of the best Attraction for domestic +International travellers. They preserve the history very well with documentary in English or Urdu.Ancient history, buddhism, gandhara, Japanese, emperors, forensic research etc.Freedom movement of Pakistan. Etc.Ticket is Rs. 50 for locals in march22.just for an idea it varies with circumstances.
Visited Lahore Museum last Sunday and it was an excellent experience ever. I see the history more clearly. I really appreciate their efforts to save the historic things..
The place is filled with the history and culture of the subcontinent and islam .. i only had time to visit one of the 5-6 gallerys and even in that i was unable to go through and grasp the history of the exibits there.. must visit in lahore
Detailed description of old South Asian culture, ironically in the Lahore museum there wasnt much information on the history of Lahore or Punjab for that matter. The space is fine and goes with the flow, I recommend going from right to the left at the end. Didnt see any space to get mineral water or some juices.
Lahore Museums majestic red-brick building blends the old tradition of Mughal architecture. It stands out among the structures built in Lahore during the British period (1849-1947). This building is home to the countrys largest and oldest collection of historical, cultural and artistic objects.

Not much interesting. Old fashioned museum with no interactive options. No secure place to deposit bags and coats. Skip it.
It was good visit. Though Im not a history lover but it was a great time pass visit for me. Souvenir shop was also there. They need to take more attention on cleaning.
I must say this the most well managed museum in Pakistan. Visited here after 2 and half decades. Had to drive and wait before finding the actual parking of museum. History of all eras of subcontinent is well displayed. Very informative and must visit place in Lahore.

Amazing experience - Building of Lahore museum is also old and of Mughal empire. There are too many items from islamic to hinduism to sikhism. You can find all the arrifacts / handcrafred items here.💓
There were very less people which shows that there are very few who actually care about history but to be honest I would have loved if there were more historic items from Mughal empire. But apart from all the atmosphere was quite and clean. A must visit if you like to see history.
Great place to visit to get to know about the history of sub-continent and religious values that were practiced back then. It also familiarises you with different cultures of various cities of Pakistan.Ticket is Rs. 50 only!
One of the stunning place to visit in Lahore. The Lahore museum is one of the large museum in the Pakistan. You will witnessed the old history of the Indus Civilization.Stone age, Ashoka Time Slit, Buddha , Muslim Rulers, Sikhs, British Empire and Pakistan Movement. It will have two floors. The ground floor is for the stone age to British empire and the second floor is reserved for the Pakistan Moment, stamps, coins etc. You need to read the written things with the articles and understand 😀.
An amazing museum showcasing the history of Pakistan/Indus civilisation. Divided into 5 sections, which were Indus, Islamic, Jain/Hindu, Pakistan liberation, Pakistan in wars, and the traditional wearings of each state. There was a gallery of pictures ranging from 1700s to the most recent one, and also there is an interesting part of the museum which displays all the coins/notes during British India times until now, and also postcards/ stamps of Pakistan from 1947 upto 2020.Do visit here if you’re in Lahore, as it gives you a deep insight of what we have overcome to a new Pakistan.
It is a great place indeed with lots of valuable and historic items. Though I believe more things should be added and more sections could be added to develop more interest for the visitors. The building of the museum is itself a masterpiece of architecture. Parking area needs a lot of improvement as early as possible. Overall a great experience.
I visited it first time in October 2021 and that was good experience. Youve to biy ticket of 50 rupees to enter inside of building. There are many idols of Hindu Gods & Goddess plus lot of instruments (which were used by people of 19th & 20th centuriesgrabs attention of every visitor. There are portions according to civilizations and departments, i wish i could captures that beautiful things in my phone in best way, anyhow i captured some things. Watch them and decide whether you should visit there or not??
Greatest Tourist Point in Lahore. Must go there if you visit Lahore. One of the best Tourist point. It is located in very beautifuletiful area.
Visited this place recently and it was an amazing experience, entry tickets are affordable and for students, it only costs Rs-/20 (you have to show student ID as proof), the museum is well maintained and every gallery is worth watching and observing. Pictures and videos are allowed in the museum to take. Lahore Museum has different galleries which are dedicated to Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, musical instruments, old currencies, historical personalities of Pakistan, art and paintings, Quran calligraphy, and even more (I cant remember now). There is only one problem in the museum and that is its hot inside, only fans are operating but no proper air conditioning or airflow system. (Youll see two ACs in the coins gallery only).Visit this museum with friends or family or you can even go alone and find out about our history.
Very beautiful and entertaining heritage site/Museum. Most of it part is open for public but about 10-20% portion is reserved for vips and foreigners. This museum includes and cover very old history as well as Sub continent of Asia Hindustan.Everyone must visit this beautiful site. But Administration should focus on the betterment of the behaviour of staff .
Lahore meuseum is a great place to visit, where you can find an Ind o Pak olden days cultural collection.

Lahore Museum building is very attractive. Museum has a large Collection of antique things and remainings of old civilizations. My experienced was average.
Amazing experience. A must go place for kids to learn about history, culture and religion of historic times. The building itself is a true representation of architects marvels of that era. On the way back please buy souvenirs to support the organisation. I bought fridge magnets and look amazing.
This old colonial era building used to be a market. However, today its Lahore heritage museum. Its generally closed. It opens for special events such as NCA exhibitions, talks and Lahore Biennale. Its to your left on the Lower Mall Road right next to the Lahore Museum and across from Punjab University art department. Parking is at the back of the building. Rs. 30 rupees for parking. Check out its great architecture and woodwork inside!
