Lady and the Shallot in Trenton

Came up here from Delaware. Was really excited for the food. Got the Brekkie Box. It was nice and wholesome, food and staff. They even treated me to some goodies when they found out it was an hour ride for me 😊 (I love people who feed me). Food was nice and fresh and they apparently use local produce, which is a plus. Loved the way they interacted with their customers as well. Highly recommend if youre in the area or just passing through.

Wonderful food and wonderful people.I ordered the Ladys Rancheros and my friend got the Breakfast Sandwich, and we were served with perfectly cooked and crafted meals. The sauces are THE BEST, and its so clear that the owners and employees care about the food they serve. Dont miss this gem or the kind team members that work here.

The food was scrumptious. They were so easy going and made all of my substitutions with a smile on their face. They made recommendations and were clearly passionate! In addition to the amazing food, the ladies there were so incredibly nice and friendly. As I said, their passion is evident in everything they do.I work 10 min away and cant believe I didnt go there before. Highly recommend to everyone especially vegans, vegetarians, celiacs, foodies, and everyone else!

So this is a vegan gluten free restaurant in the Ewing Farmer’s Market ! And the food is phenomenal! I’m not a vegan I’m not gluten free saying that if I lived closer I’d be there everyday that they are opened to grab some food! It’s delicious no matter what I’ve gotten and I’ve tried a lot of their offerings! The owners are awesome, the help outstanding and again the food is superb! They have a few tables set up where you can sit and eat! I’d give them 10 plus the food is so good!

This place is good I had the Chipotle tacos over spuds the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious lots of flavor I’ll definitely be visiting again soon

I did not eat at this restaurant, but I did buy a rainbow tostada from their food truck at a Pride festival. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients, healthy combos, and wonderful owners.I would highly recommend.

The plant-based chipotle tacos are filling, tasty, and affordable. I washed it down with their refreshing cucumber, basil, ginger-infused water.I stopped in on a Wednesday, so only a few of the shops and restaurants in the Farmers Market itself were open so it looked kind of barren. However, Lady and the Shallot had already sold out of their scones for the day which tells me they must do a booming business!Im glad I tried out Lady and the Shallot. Ill definitely return when Im back in the area.

Incredible, fresh, out of this world plant-based food. The staff at the counter and those cooking and serving the food (who I believe also may have been the owners!were incredibly helpful!I could right an essay on how incredible the truffle spuds were. We had the taco flight as well which was just as good!

Run right now to get this food. Or order on GrubHub like I did! Their food is literally SO good and explosive with flavor that I had to call them mid-bite to sing their praises. Not only is their food DELICIOUS but they are absolute sweethearts. I will be telling everyone about this place. Im just sad I only just learned about them now! Wish I knew about this gem sooner.

Creative menu, fresh ingredients, friendly and helpful staff, and great food. Worth the diversion off of the NJ Turnpike on our drive back home to Maryland.

I had the tofu scramble on a bed of greens. It was seriously delicious! The greens were raw tender kale. There was avocado and fresh tomatoes, as well as a lemon wedge that kicked the dish right over the top. This is what I want to eat every day. Thank you!

Every detail of this place is amazing. The staff is awesome and incredibly personable. They take the time to learn their customers names. The food is excellent. It is some of the best vegan food that I have ever had. The prices are incredibly reasonable as well. This place is a perfect 10 out of 10.

OMGoodness, this place was terrific. I am not particularly vegan, but/and this food was just plain thoughtful, innovative and incredibly tasty. I am excited to return to TFMkt and visit "Lady and the Shallot" again!

The first time I went, I got a cup of chili consisting of burned beans and no broth and I threw it away. Today I tried to get the diet adjustments they talk about but they didn’t have “the right lettuce.” I ended up with a salad. The produce had an unpleasant aftertaste and that got thrown away too. Sadly, it was a washout. It’s not worthwhile to give this place any more air but I will say that I called before I went, was brusquely directed to their IG page which says nothing about content and when I got there, the first thing I said was “I can’t eat another salad.” But everything I selected, “they were out of, that was last year, that was a special,” yadda yadda. They wanted to give me a salad so that’s what they did—an utterly unimaginative tasteless one with only 3/4 of a tiny lemon with which to dress it and that was nothing I couldn’t have produced at home. A big revolting zero. Tellingly, the owners didn’t even address selling me inedible food that was so awful I had to throw it away. No, they just pocketed my money snd went radio silent. I went out of my way to give this place a chance and they blew it. Twice. The owners are completely unable to think on their feet and can’t work around dietary needs. If you want something delicious made by someone who can do those things, go around the corner to The Savory Leaf and have Ed whip up something delicious for you. Now that will be worth your time and money.

The food had good flavor and I definitely see the potential for this place. But I ordered the spud chili and for the price I payed I didn’t expect to be served cold food after waiting a long time. The potatoes were a bit undercooked. Definitely willing to try again though ! The workers seemed like they didn’t care about the service they were providing either .Maybe when the owners are there it will a better experience.

OMG. First time trying the food. Went on Sunday for brunch. Customer service is amazing. Owners so friendly. Good and raw juice is soo good. I will be going back !!!!!! New favorite spot

This place is sooo good. I had chili and rainbow style over greens with an infused water. I feel full and healthy! Even their customer service is great, as I had originally ordered a few other things that they were out of so they took it off my order and gave me the water and chili for free. I will be eating here again!

First of all, the food was so so delicious!! My companion and I shared the rainbow tacos and the smothered spuds. We also got their infused waters. As someone from California, I was craving some fresh meat-less fare, and Lady delivered and then some. Every bite was packed with flavor. And second of all, the two running this business couldn’t have been friendlier or more welcoming! They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the food. Will definitely be back! If you want a break from Jersey cheesesteaks and pizza, come here for a delicious breath of fresh air!

First of all, Francesca and Kate are so friendly and welcoming! It was our first time at their little eatery and as soon as we walked in, it felt like we were going to our hometown to see our old friends. And the (veganfood was so delicious! We got two kinds of spuds and two taco dishes. The sauces were particularly amazing, I couldn’t get enough. Portions were hefty but you can tell you’re eating good food because you don’t feel weighed down or groggy afterwards. We will definitely be back ... frequently!

A little gem in the mercer area!! They have such fresh and delicious food that leaves you feeling satisfied and energized after! I am looking forward to trying everything on the menu as I have loved all the items I have tried thus far! I actually was at the king amish cooked goods take out spot in the trenton farmers market...it was packed a little longer wait then normal...But the food is worth it...The southern part of me loves there turkey tails and gizzards...

Im shocked this place doesnt have more reviews! Yes, they have a limited menu but its a delicious for a healthy vegan snack and two of their rainbow tacos is a real meal!! If your vegan, eat ketogenic or Atkins, are watching your weight or looking for flavor, this is the stop to make. Try them today! I have to try their chocolate pizza next time!!

Definitely my favorite vegan, and gluten free-based restaurant in the area. I actually just got their Thanksgiving catering box for the upcoming holiday and it looked so good when picked it up I had to eat it tonight. Inside the box there was a cabbage steak some really really yummy roasted carrots and some amazing mashed potatoes. Its nice to have such comfort food for such a traditional holiday so easily available and healthy in vegan form! Highly recommend this place and its even better that they are inside the Trenton Farmers market with some of the areas amazing farmers! Great spot!

Ordered on Door Dash,. I was relieved to find a place that has a wealth or veggie/vegan options that does not price gouge for healthy options! i ordered The Rainbow tacos. order was correct, but a bit bland. the food was fresh, but i think personally, this dish didnt wow me. What won me over was that as "compensation" (which didnt have to ask them for!for my order being delayed , they threw in a free order of their Chili Spuds WHICH WERE PHENOMENAL. Very well seasoned and tasty! Super fresh and i didnt go into a food coma after- a rarity for many chili themed foods! Will def order from them again and try some more of their food! Seems like a cool place!

Mannn listen, Ive had to change my diet COMPLETELY and have almost become a vegetarian again due to my autoimmune disease. So today we ventured out to the Farmers Market to get our watches sized & repaired and it was recommended that I try the Lady and the Shallot restaurant because they are a gluten free restaurant!Let me tell you how good this mushroom panini with arugula & avocado was! It was grilled on a gluten free panini and to me the mushrooms tasted like steak!It was really... really good!The owners Francesca & Kate were soooo professional, friendly and helpful!!I told them what all I couldnt eat and they made something for me that I could eat and it was sooo good!!

This place is Just okay. Kinda bland flavors. Had some really hard avocados on the avocado toast. Greek salad was mostly just a bowl of leaves with a little bit of toppings. The shallot flatbread is redeeming.

Hubby and I decided to go to Lady and the Shallot after we concluded our trip at Grounds for Sculpture. We were looking forward to this place because they are a plant-based eatery. We decided on two different types of avocado toast. One being California at $6.95 and the other is the curry avocado toast which is $7.95. Upon receiving our avocado toast, it was served on a round flat bread that closely resembles a sada. A sada, by the way, is a rustic type of flatbread similar to a pita bread but hardier.We were both surprised because we were expecting toast. Their "toast" would have been better had it been toasted more. Both were tasty but the winner for us was the curry avocado toast. It had more ingredients thus making it more complex whereas the California Avocado toast was creamier. If youd like water, its reserved in a huge beverage dispenser with a spigot. It has bit pieces of oranges in it. They serve it in a 16 oz plastic cup with a plastic straw and charge $2.25, just to let you know. We did get refills.You can sit either at the counter (4 stools onlyand chat with the two owners, Francesca and Kate or procure a table. They only have four tables. Two chairs per table.The owners pride their establishment to be a nut free and gluten free. They purchase their produce from Pineland farm, Cedarville farm, and Russos farm. They are located in the Trenton Farmers market.

Im not vegan, my son is. But the portabello panini was the best lunch Ive had in a long time. Bursting with flavor, perfect texture. I think Im developing an addiction ! Great service, great prices, just an all around pleasure. Come on non vegans, forget labels, go for good food !

Was my first time trying vegan food so was a little hesitant but was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. I ordered the panini and pizza desert. The carmalized mushrooms brought so Mich flavor to the panoni and the pizza desert was super delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by here. Owners are super nice too.

What a hidden little gem! Being both vegan and gluten-free can be challenging. I like when I come to Lady and the Shallot I dont have to worry about those restrictions. The entire menu is vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free! The food is great tasting and clean. The mushroom cap panini is the best thing on the menu (gluten-free bread used, of course). The rainbow tacos are tasty, well. The owners are super friendly and diligently answer any questions people may have. Very down-to-earth, cool people. They are ready to address any concerns for those worried about allergens. Stop by and give these ladies a try!

Ordered the Italian flatbread with a white bean spread, roasted garlic and roasted tomatoes. It’s simple, filling, and flavorful! The ladies were so pleasant and nice to talk to. I am looking forward to coming back.

I have been working in the Hamilton area for about 3 years now and have not found any Vegan lunch spots. When I saw Lady and the Shallot was within my driving distance I ordered to go. Located inside a Farmer Market gives it a nice vibe and they were extremely kind and fast to prepare my lunch! I ordered The Rainbow, The Italian and The Mushroom Cap. They were all extremely good with a good balance of ingredients and flavor and reasonably priced. I have definitely found my new lunch spot!
