On a main thoroughfare 1.9 km north of the Trans-Labrador Highway, this straightforward hotel is within 4.7 km of the town centre and Goose Bay Canadian Forces Base.Relaxed, air-conditioned rooms come with Internet access, cable TV and climate control.Along with free parking, amenities include laundry facilities and meeting rooms. A casual restaurant and sports bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Seems to be drunks and vagrants loitering nearly every time I go by here! Since when was this the new shelter?I personally wouldnt want to stay here IMO. Police prescence daily. Had the displeasure if staying for 2 months and HATED my stay, but its better than freezing ti death - ahem...
This is a dodgy, dirty, dismal place that is used primarily to house the homeless. I didnt get a good sleep: noises down the corridor throughout the night, fear that my motorcycle would be vandalised, dirty pillow-slips, bug crawled over my hand that woke me, filthy carpet, etc. The money I saved by not staying at a more upper-scale alternative WAS NOT WORTH IT. Pay a few extra bucks and stay elsewhere!
Older hotel rooms are large Staff seemed quite pleasant Dont understand those complaints about the staff Food is okay Typical pub type food Much cheaper than the other hotels Wifi works well
Is the worst. Plain and simple.
We stayed here on November 17th, November 18th and the morning of November 19th. I can easily say it was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. It was me, my mother, my grandmother and my younger sister. We were told that my sister and I could not stay because my mother’s medical insurance only covered a room for 2 people, and if it was covered for 2 people only 2 people can go in the room. We asked if it is any more expensive for 4 people. The lady said that it’s not, meaning this made no sense. What if a couple had a child? Would they kick the child out? We asked the lady at the front desk that exact question and she answered yes. After about an hour with trying to get a room, we just ended up paying for it. My mother came to Goose Bay concerning her medical condition. She has multiple sclerosis, meaning her immune system is low and the first time we stayed here we found used cigarettes and beer cans, which is obviously not a good sign for someone with a low immune system. The staff must not have cleaned the rooms because it was so dirty. The room was also freezing. There were things written on the inside of the drawers, in fact one of the writings said, “I don’t know who you are, but I will find you and I will kill you”, which is shown in this photo. It sure is a great way to scare a child. There are carvings in the leather chairs, there are no bathtub plugs and there are barely any towels. We paid for our bill on November 18th and wanted our receipt. We were told we would receive our receipt tomorrow, and when we asked why, we were told it’s the inn’s policy. This is a terrible place to stay. Don’t recommend at all!
There is no security in the hotel or parking lot area.
You have to share the hotel with people who stay there for free because theyre on disabilities for mental health issues.
There is no security in the building
This place looks great
Id have zero stars if that was available. Staff was not at all professional about a customer leaving/picking up belongings and luggage. Would not recommend this place. Completely rude. Customer service is not a priority. Staff had zero reason to be unprofessional.
Food is decent, pizza isnt the best choice. Service is fairly slow, but the daily specials seem to be the best bet. Any hot sandwich meals are the best bang for the buck.
The right place to avoid
Staff is amazing hotel could use a lot of TLC. This is the room I stayed in, room 112. Carpets still carry smoky smell.
This is one old hotel. Noisy tenants transfer through the thin walls, floors are crooked, I wouldnt go back.
Best Kind
Lorry (truckdriver stuck in town? The place offers shower facilities for a reasonable rate. Without truck stop, this is your only option.Didnt stay in the room, but very satisfied with what I got.
Doors dont close fully. Smell of smoke in rooms.
Its old, people make noise and the wall are not well insulated. When I arrive at my room the thermostat was set at 5°C go the the hotel north if you have the choice
Rooms are ok. The restaurant is basic the food is good not fancy. Try there grilled cod
Better than sleeping on a street. 10/10 would stay again. It has Wi-Fi if you are lucky and no-one use it.
A dive.....this hotel was left in the 70s. Smelly and unclean. Yuck!
Very hot inside. Breakfast not included
Ok room there a bit small but it was clean for the most part
The hotel is decent. Rooms are dated. No fridge, microwave, AC or fan in the room (fridges are available, but only for medical reasons). There is a restaurant in the hotel with great food at good prices. The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk of a grocery store, gas station, retail store, and A&W restaurant.
Its great the room are nice
Overpriced
Quiet place with vlt machines. Only place people are. Not sure if its a sports bar? No sports on the television. Weather network and old movies playing. Lounge area is a couple of families eating dinner.
Dingy, dirty smelly rooms. Our linnen was filthy when we got to our room. They did give us a new room that was not as dirty. Spend the extra 20 bux to stay elsewhere.
Even though it was the cheapest motel in the area, I would avoid if possible. The first room we were given had bugs on the sheets so we were given another. In the second room, I found a bible under my bed sheets. Im not sure how that happens.Further, we were woken up at 3am by some sort of alarm which went silent after a few minutes. The lady behind the counter assured us that it was caused by a leak in the basement and not a fire.Do yourself a favor and book a local B&B instead.
Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
Chambre normale resto à même lhôtel
It smells
Good
Attended a training seminar. All good
Pretty dismal hotel. Filthy carpets, very old worn rooms. The food in the restaurant is OK.
Service is alright. Food is a bit better at "Don Cherrys" now that theyve hired a cook for the people working across the river.
Amazing hospitality, very helpful and professional hotel manager!
