Italian-American fare served in a formal dining room, bar, casual bistro or outside in good weather.
Attended a rehearsal dinner here. Extremely pleasant experience. Staff were friendly, professional, and quick. Food is also fantastic. See below for details:Highly recommend anything with vodka sauce! The salmon was also very flavorful.First course featured crispy, balsamic glazed Brussel sprouts, Caesar salad, and Philly egg rolls. Second course featured chicken parmesan, rigatoni with vodka sauce, and salmon. For dessert, mini-canoli.
Sampled the Ricotta Board with honey, chicken parm, and tiramisu for dessert. Came during restaurant week and enjoyed the atmosphere and drinks. Greg was fantastic, highly recommend.
The decor is beautiful. I was really drawn to the flooring of this place . It’s elegant without being pretentious. The kitchen is free flowing so that gives opportunity for conversation in between courses . The food was immaculate. All in all i recommend this place for a nice night out . The outside scenery is very nice too
Dinner was amazing! The Ricotta board is something I will be craving all the time. We had a group of 4 and everyone was very happy with their meals.
Food was hit-or-miss. Veal parmigiana was good but the chicken milanese was overcooked and drowned in too much balsamic glaze. Kudos for leaving a water bottle on the table so customers can refill their glasses; more restaurants should do that. Service was good despite how busy they were. Food comes out as it’s ready, which means you might get entrees before done with appetizers, and that some people’s entrees could be much later than others.
Me and my wife ate here on a whim after visiting the illusion museum. Nice little Italian spot. Limincello martini is delicious and our salads hit the spot. Nice little lunch on a Tuesday
Not bad 🫰 the service wes excellent.
Got fried calamari - tasteless. Caesar salad was eh; a bit too anchovy tasting for my liking. Shrimp & Crab over linguine in white wine was not up to par. Chicken San Remo was very tasty. Linguine in Vodka Sauce was good. Salmon was good but, too much spinach on top of potatoes. The best part was the servers; everyone was so nice. But, the ambiance was eh; didnt feel like a cozy restaurant to me. Tiramisu dessert was good. Bonanza Cab was good. I wont be going back. Overall, the food tasted eh to me. Very disappointing considering all of the great reviews.
This place is a gem. Stumbled upon it while looking for a local lunch spot to independence park and didnt know what to expect. My colleague and I splurged a bit here and got a bit of everything and boy were we overloaded as the portions are quite big. For appetizers we did the meatballs and arancini which were both delicious as well as a salad which I forget the name of but it was tasty. Additionally I had the chicken picatta for my main course and he had a veal milanese which was phenomenal as well. Overall experience was great and will definitely be returning during my next visit to the area.
I’m always shocked by how popular this place is. I’ve tried this place twice and am always very disappointed about the quality of food.Olive Garden has better pasta and the pizza is a joke. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Get there early for a bar top if you want happy hour. We had an amazing server and the food, equally as good. Cant go wrong if youre looking for casual Italian.
The Atmosphere Was Simply Amazing Im Allergic To Seafood But I Was Ever So Tempted To Try The Dish We Will Be Back@snapshotanderson
AMAZING! every single item was fresh and delicious, definitely was not expecting that.
food comes to table as soon as its done. Staff is nice. I cant wait to go back in September.Meals in picture are Chicken Marsala with roasted potatoes and broccoli Rabe, Margarita Pizza and Ravioli with chicken.
Perfect happy hour spot, lunch spot, or dinner spot. I highly recommend the ricotta board. Its so good. Great food. Great drinks. Great service. What more can you ask for. Solid pizza. Good pasta. Great apps! Good prices. Especially happy hour!
The food was ok, kind of bland but I can’t really complain about the food. The sever Phil was very unprofessional, he greeted us with curse words. I was very shocked and I did not think that it was appropriate at all. He was complaining because we sat outside when it was hot.. to him. Every time he came to drop off food he was complaining. I was very upset with the customer service that I received. I don’t know if he thought it was ok to speak to us that way because we are a black young couple, but it was not appropriate no mater the circumstance.
Met family for an early dinner. Our server Greg made us feel like we were annoying him. When I arrived and noted that our table outside was wobbling, I inquired about him providing a table wedge to fix it. He handed me the the wedge to fix it myself. I then called him back to fix the table, he asked what the issue was. I stated to him that I would appreciate it if he fixed it. He then went on to explain that these buildings were meant for outdoor dining (not my concern). Due to a wobbly table my drink fell over. My aunt explained what happened and requested for a refill. He abruptly stated that I would have to pay for another. Unfortunately due to bad service I can no longer support this establisment. I left feeling defeated on what was supposed to be a great day with family.
Staff is friendly and helpful, Food was fantastic.
We had a wonderful dinner at LaScala Fire. We were a party of five, & we were able to be seated right away. Our server gave great suggestions to our friends, who were visiting from out of town. There wasnt a long wait for our food, & it was served hot. LaScala Fire is a great place for a quick bite, a drink, & an impromptu night out with friends.
The entrées here are not worth it: bland, tasteless, overpriced, etc. But the pizzas are amazing and the desserts are too!! We were also happy with our drinks. And we had good service.
If you are struggling to choose a place in Philadelphia you wont get bad food here, just unremarkable. My wife had the angel hair with crab which she said had too much garlic. The burrata board appetizer had enough food for two and had a nice presentation. I had the meatball panini which the meatball was soft and mushy and not a lot of flavor. Its just okay. In a pinch.
The food we had was pretty good, the issue we had was the service. The person who greeted us at the door made it seem like we were inconveniencing them because we didnt have a reservation. It was a Sunday evening and the restaurant barely had anyone in it. When we were eventually seated we were jammed in the corner with the few other people there. The tables were so close together it felt like communal eating and one family had to ask someone at the next table to scoot in for them to get out of their seats
This is a wonderful place! It was recommended by the community officer and it did not disappoint! Carolyn our waitress was amazing! She was sweet and friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted! The food was great, yummy baked lasagna! Fun atmosphere too!Enjoy!
Convenient location in town. All glass windows along the road, great for people watching while eating. Food is high quality and portions are generous. Slightly pricey but worth it. Places to sit at the bar and booths, large dining area divided into 2 sides.
The apps were great. However, the service was not so good. They werent rude but didnt tell my table what dishes were being placed on the table. Especially this one guy who acted like he couldnt hear us and just started dropping menus on the table without saying a word. The entrees were mediocre and the tiramasu tasted strange. And the Old Fashion gave me a stomach ache.
The service was nice but the food needed more spice .the only thing I loved was the seafood fra diavolo. Everything else was missing something. The drinks was good but weak. I am kinda disappointed cause I am not picky but I just need to added a few spices to every dish for the meal to be not bland. Beautiful restaurants with nice staff tho.
Their four cheese was excellent, and very reasonably priced! Will definitely return!
While walking on historical streets, found this beautiful place. Unexpected stop.I ordered salad and panini.Food: best, freshSeating: outside and inside. Beautiful lighting.Restroom: clean, spacious.Service: very good, helpful, quick.Should try.
Been coming here for years food is always good and friendly staff.
We had gone to the new Museum of Illusions, and left feeling dizzy from the tricks played on our eyes and brains. The only solution clearly was a cold beer. We were happy with the selection here, and as an added bonus, the prices were fair, unlike so many city bars that rip you off.We shared a pizza with veggie toppings, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was cooked beautifully, with a browned crust and a delightful chewiness. You can watch the pizzas cooking in the open kitchen. The 700 degree oven cooks a pizza in 2 minutes!😊 Dont try that at home 😁😜. Great experience. Id definitely go again.
Delicious food! We got the gnocchi and chicken bacon ranch pizza. Both had fantastic flavor, I think we just expected a bit more food with the higher price. But it really is good food for being in a central tourist area. Worth a try.
The waiter was extremely rude when the hostess sat our group, he looked at us and said nope, not going to serve you. You guys have to leave I’m too busy, we have reservations in 2 hours so I can’t do it. Mind you they already poured our waters and took drink orders. Laziness at his finest. When this restaurant fails financially don’t cry. You lost a 26 top of parents willing to put into one check. Terrible.
I. Loved. This. Place. Fire margarita made with their own tequila was amazing! Food was good of course I thought it could use some salt on the pasta but that’s a me thing. Thank ambience was nice, brick oven had the place smelling amazing. And the customer service was too notch.
OMG! The Food!!😭😭It was Sooooo Goooood!!The Setting was Lovely!!The Service and Server, Phil were Fabulous! My Compliments To EVERYBODY!!
Both food and service were excellent. They serve generous portions which was great for sharing.
Increíble wood fired pizzas and desserts. Try the limoncello mascarpone cake!
It was damn good. Im always so nervous to try sauce and meatballs out bc its so hard to beat my moms. But the sauce and meatballs here were delicious!! 3 giant meatballs that you can tell arent frozen. The sauce was great. My partner got pizza which was also really really good. Drinks were delicious too! Reasonable prices. Cant go wrong!
Its a Saturday in March at 6pm. We had a lot of hope for a great experience, but that vanished halfway through. Our waiter never gave us his name, but he was nice. He recommended the sweet and spicy wings so we ordered them and brussel sprouts WITHOUT pancetta as our appetizer. The wings came out piping hot and they were delicious. Not long after, the brussel sprouts came out WITH pancetta. The waiter came to apologize and to let us know a new one would be coming out. They were delicious and hot too. Meanwhile, he never came to ask for our entree order. We had been done our appetizers for some time. We kept looking for him. He eventually came back. We ordered chicken parmigiano and veal parmigiano. It didnt take long to come out. A lady brought our food out and went to the wrong table. We noticed she had done that earlier with another group when she was serving outside. Two tables of guest shook their heads no and she came back in. She went back and our waiter brought it out. The presentation of all the food was nice. I was annoyed to discover that the linguini with my chicken parmigiano was so dry and I felt the noodles were not al dente. They were truly under cooked. I had to ask for additional sauce twice. The veal parmigiano came out with plenty of sauce. I was disappointed by then and ready to go. Also, the table behind us asked about the pizza and the same waiter told them its a 40 min wait on pizza because they have a small oven and one person. That was surprising because a family came in after us and they received a pizza. It was busier when we came in than when those other two tables came in. We did get the free parking. I would recommend for quick eats, but not for authentic entrees.
Had the best lunch!! Susi was the bartender, but also my server, away from the bar. She was awesome! Gave great recommendations for wine and food. I had the caprese to start. The Truffle mushroom pizza, and the tiramisu. Can I just say wow. Not only were the portions so worth the price, the food was amazing to eat. This was the best tiramisu Ive ever had. Susi was also awesome and told me of some great places to visit on my trip. Truly enjoyed the Mütter museum, thank you! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would have. Thank you! (This is only half the pizza).
First time here was for dinner on Friday night, had such a great experience we came back for lunch on Sunday! This time our server was Paige and she was such a delight. Very attentive and timely, really appreciated her service. LaScala’s Fire is a new family favorite!
This is place so great. More space for dine in, there is bar inside, so many delicious food on their menu. Food was amazingly delicious, best place to recommend for a good dinner in the middle of Philly.
Our server Nick was awesome! pleasent our first time, the food was delicious, the dessert was so good, it was the bread pudding. the service and food was so good we went back again and the service was still excellent I definitely recommend this resturant
We went here for dinner and loved it. The food is so good. The service was great. I dont think I could say anything bad.
Tasty food. Host was accommodating and sat us without reservation. Our server was knowledgeable and helped us choose some pies. Would like to come here again to try some more food. Worth a try !
Solid place for a good meal- lunch or dinner. Cheesesteak egg rolls in wiz was a neat touch.Cheese tortellini stole the show and tiramisu desert were our favorite today.
Amazing food!! The wait was long but very worthwhile. My family thought it was the best food we have had in Philly and it wasnt super pricey! Would love to go back! We had pepperoni Stromboli, chicken parm, grilled salmon, and baked lasagna
This meatball salad is absolutely delicious! Everything exceeded expectations. The sauce was amazing, the meatball totally tender and delicious. And the ricotta! The ricotta!!! So creamy, so tastey, so crazy, crazy delicious. Better than any ice cream or cheesecake I have ever tasted. Spread some of that on a bite of your meatball. I challenge you to try to find a tastier Italian lower carb dish. I seriously dont think it can be done.
Two visits already. That says a lot.First visit on New years Eve. Didn’t have the the entrees but the appetizers were really good. The sweet spicy chicken wings and the Brussels in balsamic. So had to give a second visit for the wood fire pizza.Second visit with the above mentioned app and the truffle fries (were ok). The pizza was much much better than I imagined .
My fiance and I had dinner here last night and will definitely be returning! Our server, Olivia, was polite and attentive. Thanks girl! We had the Tuscan wings which were delicious & HUGE. We each ordered our own pie. I had the veggie which is shown below & my husband had the cheese steak. We both really enjoyed them. The sauce was very fresh tasting and the mozzarella they use is great! The only (very smalldisappointment was the pizza could have been left in a little longer but thats just my personal preference. Cocktails were great too! I regret not ordering dessert.
Came here for Valentines day and it was easy to make a reservation. The environment is warm and the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere that also offers its history. The food menu is slim however the dishes are delicious and they have a vast drink menu with great options as well. The service was nice and friendly.
