La Vitrola - Restaurant in Havana, Cuba
this became our regular place for a drink. Lovely atmosphere, we always got a table outside. Had lunch there once and it was really good.
The place is just amazing, the decoration and good atmosphere. Plenty of choices in the menu, not always available but that’s the country situation. The prices are higher than other touristic place from the area, but the money exchange they offer is also higher (sth to consider). The meal we chose was too focus on the tourist, and the waiters are nice but too over you.I give an extra star because the live music was awesome, great voice.
A nice place in the old town of Havana with great food and drinks at normal prices. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed the live music. The waiter was speaking English and he was very friendly even if he double charged us for the grilled chicken. Fortunately, at the end we didn’t pay anything extra and they accepted that it was a waiters mistake.
The place is nice in plaza vieja to have a coffee etc. They have no WiFi which all the other places around do and the owner who also owns the pizzaria next to it, is very well known to be the worst. Making the employees work 18 hour shifts, with a small break and terrorise them at every point. Horrible conditions for the staff plus the ridiculous uniforms they have to wear.Tourists should be aware and make sure to give their money to people who dont treat their staff like slaves.
Amazing 1950s Cuban experience with tasty affordable food and live music. A must.
We didnt eat,but for 1 mojito a s 1,5l of mineral water we paid around 1600CUP which gives 12€. A Joke.
Nice restaurant with good food and honest prices, expecially good the cocktails
I was in La Vitrola last 2 days.Very nice experience.Live Music super good. Cons they passed by "asking" which was more like a "has to " tip bucketService super proffesional.. efficient and fastI did not eat just had drinksPrice for tourist very affordableFor cubans unable to even sit for a beerBathroom as always weakest area. The owner should upgraded renovate them and make it more at the level of rhe restaurant
The breakfast and coffee were not bad at all BUT I felt cheated. When I asked the waiter Yariel (the name according to the billhow much the price of a bottle of water was, he replied 150 pesos, and I ordered it. However, in the bill (attachedit was 500 cup.I brought this to his attention, and he cross-checked with the manager and they had a conversation about that. Then he came back and tried to convince me that he said "500" but maybe he was speaking quickly etc. When I told him that the numbers 500 and 150 simply sound too different to be confused, he still refused to accept it and after a while said that it might have been his mistake with the numbers but this does not affect the final bill. Moreover, "you cant speak to the manager because he is too busy with other guests (he wasntbut he says nothing can be done about it".I actually believe it could be unintentional on his side, because he had to check the prices for the breakfast on the outdoor menu, so I assume he was new at this place. And the standard price is indeed about 150cup, not 500cup.However, I do not understand why do I have to pay for a waiters mistake? I paid what he asked, but I do not want to come back and do not recommend this place to others, because it simply shows the attitude and they can do the same on a bigger scale. In the end, it was only about paying extra 3-4 euros for me, but the feeling wasnt pleasant.
Excellent service and awesome food! The vibe is very welcoming and they always have good music.
Super place, good location, orchestra, good choice of food. More expensive than other places but one of my favorite in Habana
Great cuban comida plus the waiters are super nice
very tasty food and super friendly staff! the male waiter was more than accommodating! What a service madness, some star restaurants in Germany can wrap up 😃And one of the chefs not only looks super good, his food was terrific!we were all very enthusiastic and will come back when we are in Havana! We love it 😇
We had a great night there!! Good food for normal prices!
Amazing place to stop by try unique cocktails especially vitrola cocktail with a beer. Food is twist between Spanish tapas & Cuban food. Atmosphere is great, they have a live music and occasionally ppl start dancing salsa. This is quite a different place when competing the rest of the Cuba. This should be your stop and it’s next to Playa Vija. Enjoy & thanks 🙏
Nice outdoor area, fast service, but you can find food with better quality other places.
Excellent service! We met Radiel, such a kind guy ! We will keep his behaviour as the Cuban’s behaviour we expected to see in Havana !
Good location, delicious cocktails, vibrant atmosphere, modern music, affordable prices.
ONLY CASH PAYMENTS. They will literally escort you to a card machine to withdraw cash. The food is okay but on the more expensive side.
We didnt eat, only appetizers and drink which were great, affordable for tourist but pricey for locals. Very nicely decorated. Service was good also and they have live music which ask for a tip at the end. The only annoying thing was everyone was smoking inside and outside and we arent smokers so be aware. Also the bathroom was flimsy.
The food and drinks were excellent. Live music was just ending as we arrived, but sounded great. The service was very good as well. The only thing disappointing was the bathrooms which were not very clean or well maintained and an attendant wanted a tip.
We had to pay$100 canadian Dollars for 2 mojitos and 5 pops. outrageous!!Extremely expensive. A rip off. (mojitos were good but way to expensive)
Excellent music, great daquiris
Best Coffee in Cuba!!!Great service, very friendly and welcoming. Good prices and speak many languages including English. Will visit again 🙂
It used to be a good place... my pizza came without cheese almosti made a complain and they send me another one on the house without cheese... seriously waste of time and money
We were there in February 2018. Its a good location, the food was delicious. The service was good and friendly.Greets from Germany
Good location. it is so close to old town square and the bus station. Friendly staff and excellent service. When i visit there i hava just 20 minutes. I said them that i have 20 minutes. They serve the meal immediately. The meal was delicious. The prices are normal for Havana, neither too much nor cheap. I strongly advice this location.
Good food and drinks, very nice service.
The best restaurant I went in Havana. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special bar drinks, (even took photos so we could try to replicate at home). the price was great, the environment and the vibe was absolutely wonderful.
Great atmosphere, amazing 1950s memorabilia with fantastic food & drink.
Excellent in every aspect. Great service, tasty food, very well made cocktails, beautiful decoration, and nice location.
Had the best looking foods here. It took a while for us to get our food but once we saw it, it was well worth the wait. The food was great and considering how busy it usually was, the service was also great. Id suggest to go see the square before sunset and grab a table here, right in the corner of the square, order some food and drinks and listen to the wonderful music. Some other places in the square dont have as good food or good music. This place has the best combination of both. If you like seafood, try the fried red snapper. When I visit Cuba, I always make a point to come here and order this dish.
Cute little bar and restaurant with great drinks for about $3.50 cuc! They have live entertainment and the staff was very courteous and attentive. I loved the decor as well! They had old vinyl records for use as coasters and also placemats. Ther fresh fruit topping the drinks was a nice touch! We even managed to get some etecsa wifi signal there so we could check our messages as we sipped (we were seated outside that time).
Good music and drinks at this busy cafe corner. A buzzing place with friendly service.
Great music and drinks, the food was good but nothing special, definitely a touristy type place to visit since they put your home flag in your food.
Got my favourite!Super food,super Mojito Special,Good Live Music and waiters...love it,Viva Cuba🇨🇺✊🇨🇺
A unique place in right old town of Havana with great food and drinks. The presentation for drinks is amazing. Interior and exterior of the restaurant is antique with lots of antique things. Really enjoyed this place every time we visited la Havana.
Great food, delicious drinks and perfect atmosphere. Choosing this place for your cuban evening will not dissapoint you.
Lively restaurant with excellent Cuban food here. there seems to be a queue every time I passed by. Good service and nice ambiance dining inside or outside. Perhaps a bit touristy but we really enjoyed the food here.
Nice place, food is good, price is decent (we paid around 70 CUCs for 3 people - food and drinks). The waitress must have had a bad day, because she was not in the mood to serve us.
The staff was excellent & nice. English speaking. The English breakfast was good and priced correctly. Drop in for a drink or quick bite to eat.
Small, touristy cafe great for grabbing a quick drink or a bite of food.Prices are reasonable and all the drinks are served cold which is great for a hot day. Theres plenty of shade and outdoor seating available. The staff is pretty friendly and speak good English, though they do sit and watch while you eat and drink, which gets a little uncomfortable after awhile.Would recommend if you need a quick place to rest and get a quick drink.
Good food, very friendly and accommodating. We just stumbled across this place looking for dinner, and was one of many in Old Havana.
Typical place in Havanna. Mainly visited by tourists.Best item from the menu is a beer filled mojito (see pictures). Never saw those before. They are quite tasty. The lobster with shrimps and cheese ist good as well.More or less expensive but still one of the better place to be on the Plaza Vjeia
The food and drink was delicious! I enjoyed fried eggs, ham, cheese, pork and toast (a Cuban breakfast.Their freshly squeezed fruit juice was refreshing! As an added bonus, someone drew a caricature of one of our party while he was eating. It was a street artist, but it was so amusing we just had to buy it!
One of the best mojito, and daiquiri should tasted, ingredients are outstanding. Staff is helpfull , but they are try t8 force you to buy the most expensive choice where you are lookimg, this is not feelimg comfortable. Decoration is nice. Good place for relaxing.
Way overpriced. The staff is really nice, but the food is meh.
Lovely food, an interesting signature drink (a beer bottle upside down in a mojito), friendly staff, excellent live music, all in a great location on one of the main squares of Old Havana.
This is a nice place for lunch. Food, service and prices were good. They also have Cuban music going on. I am posting the menu for reference. We tried a few things but the chicken croquetas were maybe the favourite.
We ate twice here: a lunch and a breakfast. Both were good, prices are fair. And the food quality is good. Also there is a band that plays good music (classical Cuban son, salsa).Good cocktails and conveniently located. The terrace is overwatch ed by a hired guard to prevent security issues.Pleasant place overlooking plaza Havana Vieja.Breakfast prices between 4.25-5.50 CUC ( eggs, fruit, fresh juice, bread and few veggies)
