La Viña Manchester in Manchester
Description
Privilege
A lunch time catch up with a friend. The food was very good. We had a selection of tapas and the house red wine was very moreish.
MoreBeen in this place many times before and Enjoyed the food, but this time very disappointed with the food and its not Value for your money, staff very good, will not be back😥
MoreLoud party music, lights up too high, no atmosphere. One good server but as soon as she finished her shift we seemed to be forgotten about even though there were three members of staff on the floor and only 5 tables seated. Food was pretty awful, came out worryingly quickly and was all only luke warm, clearly frozen and microwaved, pretty bland, octopus was £18 and was just one over cooked piece in a very bland sauce and mash, extremely over priced for what it is. The cannelloni tasted literally like dog food.
MoreDefinitely overrated. Way to expensive compared to the quality and quantity of the food.
MoreOur server Deo was lovely. Food was good. Nice atmosphere.
Average most dishes lacked flavour none of the dishes were hot . Service was good
MoreEnjoyed our tapas meal, we were looked after very well.
I would definitely go back to the restaurant for one torrezons con mojo dulce, it is amazing.
MoreAbsolutely my favourite tapas restaurant in Manchester hands down. Beautiful venue, amazing food. Took my girlfriend in for a date and the staff were fantastic. Made our night that bit more special.
MoreWe dined early, our table was booked for 4:30pm so it was quite quiet when we arrived. There were 4 of us, so we picked a few dishes to have between us as well as some wine and sangria. Drinks wise, I dont think the jug of sangria really provides 1 litre. Its about 4 glasses, similar to a bottle of wine hence we had that next for the same price. The food itself tasted nice, Im not local so my friends said other tapas restaurants do provide slightly larger portions. The main let down was the service. I believe they were having issues with a new till system, so a few staff members were stood at the back. A couple of times items wed requested had been forgotten about and I dont like having to ask for my empty plates/glasses to be removed. We also had to ask for the bill twice and then get their attention to actually pay. Generally a good experience, the place itself is nice and the staff seem friendly. I just cant imagine what the service would be like if the restaurant was actually full.
MoreReally underwhelming and overpriced for what you receive. The calamari was poor as was the sharing bread board (4 slices of supermarket baguette). On the plus size the Jambon croquetas and patatas bravas were tasty. Wont be going back there in a hurry though.
MoreThis is still my go to place for tapas when in town. Never disappoints always excellent
MoreDo not eat here, the food was cold, service was okay! Ended up on and over the toilet after the meal. If you like microwave meals This still a isn’t the place because they can’t do that right let alone cook a fresh meal, had to give 1 star because there’s nothing less
MoreThe pan con tomate was literally just that - no garlic or olive oil to add flavour, the chickpeas and meatballs effectively came in gravy, the butternut squash wasn’t cooked properly so was hard in places, the patatas bravas were under cooked, and the sparkling wine sangria was just a white wine spritz. I can accept that sparkling wine sangria is a poor order choice, but all of the others are fairly standard and were executed terribly. I will not be returning or recommending anyone else does.
MoreI asked to make sure the food was hot - cannelloni and patas bravas were luke warm and the calamari was chewy! Actually the rest of the food wasnt hot enough either! Returned to heat up and calamari came back just the same and cannelloni had been in the microwave! Not happy, we wont return in the future!
MoreGorgeous tapas and wine, staff so friendly n great atmosphere 🍷👌🏻
When Manchesters other tapas restaurants are booked, you can always find a table here - which should be a warning. The choice of ambient music is more suitable for a bar a Magaluf and the food is overcooked and vastly overpriced.
MoreReally lovely ambiance- food was gorgeous & Sangria lovely. Fantastic.
We had a lovely evening here after a show at the Opera House. Fantastic bottle of white Rioja, one of the waiters favourites apparently as well! Lovely service from staff who were very attentive .We left our umbrella so we will have to go back!!
MoreWe went around tea time and the service was excellent. Great atmosphere, the food was top notch and the price very reasonable considering it is in the city centre. I would highly recommend 👍
MoreAte here Monday. Due to being coeliac I must eat gluten free. Ordered and asked the waiter to mark the order coeliac so that the kitchen were aware and asked him to ensure with the chefs checked that everything ordered was gluten free. Unfortunately later I had all the symptoms of being given gluten. E mailed Tuesday to advise and see what had gone wrong with the food. As of Sunday still no reply from them. This was the only place I ate so I know it happened here.UPDATE - the company have e mailed this week and are going to speak to me to look into this further 14.06.22
MoreA really lovely restaurant. Staff was very lovely and helpful. Very tasty food, aesthetically pleasing ;)
MoreDelicious food, gorgeous place, and the house white was so good!
Really enjoyed the evening here. The food is great - and we washed it down with a lovely jug of sangria.
MoreWonderfully vibrant eatery with a fantastic selection of tapas. Highly recommended.
MoreNice staff and patatas bravas but unfortunately the rest of the food tasted frozen and low quality. Had a massive chunk of clear fat that I found in a croquette and couldnt eat anymore. Dont recommend
MoreWe loved this place ; the food was delicious, great tapas selection. Great value for money. Good wine. Highly recommend.
MoreGood quality food. Smallish tapas menu but does also have plenty of main dishes too. Great beer and wine selection, prices are reasonable for the city centre.
MoreWent for lunch one Sunday. It was very quiet - only our table and one other was occupied. A member of our party has a shellfish allergy. The waiter requested allergies and endeavoured to ensure we were aware of what we could order. Unfortunately, they inforned us that they had a second fryer out of order which decreased the menu choice, as they used the working one for frying shellfish. I know it cannot be helped if equipment breaks, but as the menu choice was already small, that person had limited choice. The menu was also limited for the vegetarian among us. However, the food we did choose was nice. The downstairs toilet was absolutely freezing cold and was in need of a deep clean. The service was fine.
MoreWe were very disappointed we havent been here for over 3 years used to love it. Taken upstairs part of the restaurant left for 15 minutes nobody came to ask if we wanted a drink my husband had ti go back down stairs to ask . When waiter came was ok but miserable apologised but didnt seem that bothered. Limited tapas more main meals wasnt impressed. A couple on another table Walked out wished we had done the same.
MoreThe tables are barrels so really hard to sit underneath especially if youre tall like me, I couldnt reach food. The food itself was good especially the octopus but my partner had a steak that wasnt cooked to how he asked and also very fatty so Id stick to the seafood.
MoreFirst thing that it was very cold and only a tiny fan heater and we were cold including the food after a short period of time. Food was nice but had to wait ages for staff to get payment done although they were friendly. Surprisingly no paella on the menu anymore.
MoreThis used to be one of our Manchester favourites. Sadly not any more. The staff are lovely and very friendly, but to sit in a cold restaurant with no heating in January with your coat on is unacceptable. Menu is different , we much preferred a good variety of smaller dishes.
MoreVery disappointed- nothing special. Chicken wings pretty tasteless, selection of breads was basically 6 hard slices of bread, cheese board was tiny. Calamari and king prawns were nice. Pork belly was delicious. Overpriced, descriptions didn’t match the food and small portions. £6 added to bill for service charge for just 2 of us eating. I wouldn’t recommend and I wouldn’t go back.
MoreWasnt impressed with the starter it was made out as though the main Ingredient was goats cheese which in fact it was just a little crumble over , other than that the food was tasty
MoreSimply divine! The service is good and they catered for non drinkers by mixing a mocktail of our choosing. Love the music and the atmosphere here. Oh and the food.....WOW! I had the garlic prawns and they were fresh and tasty!
MoreThe food is great and the atmosphere is perfect. I personally recommend tapas and sangria. Main dish tastes good but the portion of it is a bit small. In general, I really love this restaurant.
MoreGood choices on set lunchtime menu, food was really tasty. Price wise very reasonable.
MoreIts the first time we gave eaten here, and will be definitely going back. The food was lovely
MoreGreat place, great food, great service, what more could you want?! Lots of different vegetarian options and theyre always happy to accommodate any changes needed. Definitely worth visiting if craving tapas!
MoreExcellent service, bread was burnt originally however the waitress changed it quickly. Big range of dishes to choose from, prices on the higher side but quality of food was good.
MoreAbsolutely amazing food. We went for a bottomless brunch on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were very attentive however as it was a bottomless brunch the staff werent very forthcoming filling up your glass when it was empty. Id definitely go back to have lunch or dinner with friends.
MoreService was exceptional from the young spanish waiver from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Food was cooked well but a little bland. Definitely worth trying, the chef may have been having an off day when we went in. Dont think wed go back though.
MoreGreat place for tapas. Not too many choices but what we ordered was ok. Nice design and good service
MoreTasty food. A bit on the expensive side like all tapas places. Could improve on quality but its good.
MoreSunday evening we were the only customers! The octopus leg was amazing. Pork chops... personally i prefer fully cooked ones——leave the rareness to beef steak pls! The Sangria was disappointing—-fruity but too thick and sticky
MoreA perfectly serviceable tapas offering. Has a sister restaurant in Liverpool the restaurant looks the part, has a good ambience and the food is well presented. Its a good menu choice with a generous alcohol selection from wine to cocktails. Food wise, dishes ranged from really tasty chorizo to overcooked steak and pork cheek. Manchester does have a good selection of tapas places and this would be mid-table in terms of choice. Service was good and helpful and its pretty good value for dinner.
MoreThis is possibly my favourite place to be in Manchester. It is a little piece of Spain, right in the middle of Deansgate. The tapas is not cheap, but IS delicious. The wine choice is exactly what youd expect in a small bar in Seville. La Vina is small, but has several floors, so unless you turn up on a Friday night without a booking, you should be accommodated. They used to have live music nights, but not sure if this is still the case, and if they do, then these really are a treat. Cant recommend highly enough.
MoreService was okay. The food was very bland and treated much better with some extra salt. Decor was a bit chainy. Cocktails were okay. Enjoyed the bread and oil starter. Hard to pick a highlight or lowlight.
MoreIt was raining, and we were craving for Spanish food. All of the sudden we saw right in the corner this restaurant that made us feel in a real Spanish tasca. Nice service and delicious food. You cannot miss the amazing Cheesecake!!!
