La Tramoia - Tapas restaurant in Barcelona, Spain
Me and my girlfriend passed by after having been buying some grocerys. Saw the oferta bravas and cana for 4.50€. Asked the waither if he speaks english and he did a litle. We ordered 2 of these. We ate and then after a while asked to pay and now had to pay 12€. We ordered the oferta 2x4.50 as it sais on the sign. We would like the 3 € back. We did pay and sat a while to relax .. I had a bag from the grocery store in front of my feet. The waiter with a plaster in his forehead comes, grabs my bag and throws it on the table and yells to me and my girlfriend in spanish. First of all he has no right to touch our property and second he humiliates us in front of other guests third we used english and he yells in spanish four we had done nothing wrong we were thinking of maybe ordering one more beer. But this was not ok! No idea why sign sais one price and then we get charged more and why is the waiter throwing my bag on the table and telling us to leave? He has no right to touch it! We want an excuse and our 3€ back
Good food and nice staff But,....They tried to charge more money than they should. Be aware of your bill and check if everything is OK.
I know this place already 15 years and keep coming back every time I am in Bcn, one of my favorite boots so to speak
We came to La Tramoia for breakfast a few times as we were staying close by for the week. The food here is very good, though like most places in Spain the service is slow. Okay at some times, other times not so much especially when the restaurant is not busy.Their cafe con leche is very good and in good sized cups. And they got extra hot correct when a few in our party asked. They had fresh orange juice which was nice.We had a few different items for breakfast. I really liked the scrambled eggs with mushrooms which were really tasty. Other people had the croissants, eggs with bacon and avocado, and the toast with tomato spread. All were good portions. Pricing was good also. There is plenty of seating with 3 floors, and the place is clean including the bathrooms.Recommend.
Had a quite fulfilling business lunch served by a very respectful waiter.
I went to la Tramoia on frebruary 2020 and tried Suquet de rap y gambas and bolas de bacalo, both deliciuos! The service was quick and attentive, I definitely recomend this restaurant
Warming employees, great food and price. Centered location and city views right from the window.
So bad service and a little racist. Never greet me when I walked in. Stood there at the door and the waitress just pretended she didnt see me. Never givene the menu until I asked. Never came to me to take my order. Everyone was just busy cleaning up tables and never looked at me. I just stood up and walked off.
Food was ok. Had paella and tapas.Very busy spot. Kept pushing people out quickly. Service was not good. Waited about 1 hour after done eating with no more drinks left before came to ask or even acknowledge if we wanted to pay.Would not recommend this place.
Seafood paella: Not worth the price. Prawns were not easy to deshell at all... All one of them. Little seafood in the dish and not a very memorable flavour overall. Rice was cooked well. Not a place I would revisit.
We ordered 2 Paella’s on New Year’s Eve. They were subpar for 20 Euros with little seafood - also came slightly cold. Service is as to be expected in Barcelona. There are far, far better places, from our very limited time here, that are much cheaper.
Excellent selection of Tapas, with no crowd that you have to put up with in other popular places!!
Definately a great location near Desuigal, Cataluynia square with a nice ambiance, servers were courteous, there is free wifi with email address. But sadly the food hardly worth the mention. I had mussels and garlic shrimp - and felt very queasy afterwards
Lovely atmosphere. We ate here a few times for breakfast. Cannot fault the place. Food are service were great. Would recommend.
Before I begin, I do want to say our table server was extremely nice and accommodating. We very much enjoyed his service and table candor. They were the saving graces of our experience. This place looked like it was going to be excellent, but our experience was the opposite. The food was not great, and the ambiance was alright. They were pushing us out the door by the end of the night without any mention to us of when the establishment was closing. The establishments Google information showed they closed an hour later than when we stayed. As they were pushing us out, we attempted to confirm when they closed, and they said it was in 15 minutes. We were already at the end of our meal, so being pushy was unnecessary. It was just terrible service from the head staff. It is hard to stomach spending €200 at an establishment to be treated this way and also be provided with subpar food. I would certainly never recommend this place to locals or would-be travelers. Sad, because the place has so much potential.
Stopped here on the way back to our hotel for dinner. The salads (Caesar & Goat Cheesewere delicious. The chicken breast was dry. Good thing I had a beer to wash it down. The paella was also delicious. The service wasnt stellar but I was offended when the server asked how much we wanted to add to the bill for the service. We havent been expected to "tip" anywhere else and the service nor the food was deserving of *added* cost.
There are much better tapas restaurants in Barcelona. I ordered chicken and dip, it tasted more like oil than chicken.2 stars because the interior is nice.
Food was alright I guess. Waiter forgot one thing I ordered. Left me waiting for awhile after asking for the check. Then pressured me into tipping. I tip well even though its not really a thing in Spain. Irked me that the place which deserved it least was so pushy.
The ambience is beautiful. It was my vegetarian night and I had stuffed pepper and mushroom risotto. I asked the waiter for feudal vegetarian as substitute. The dish came in with vegetarian paella and I was told that the feudal can only be made seafood and no vegetarian. Had a bit of argument with the waiter but luckily enough it was changed to feudal in the end. Though I can feel the waiter wasn’t happy after that. Great ambience, good food and presentation. Perhaps customer service can be improved slightly.
Beautiful and service top notch. Best ever squid, fresh salads and delicious bread. Skip the horrible tomato bread and ask for it plain, it is great with a little oil. The Catalonia obsession with that cold soggy bread defies description. Nice and efficient staff. Sit outside a people watch over a respectable glass of $4 rojo.
This is what this place calls medium. Mate I could swear this cow was about to walk of the table avoid at all cost
We went for breakfast and the food was average but service was HORRIBLE. We were ignored upon arrival and once we sat down we were not given menus. After waiting some more we ended up finding our own menus - they were the same as displayed outside. When it came to ordering the waiter was frustrated because we had the wrong menus and followed by throwing the correct menus on the table and storming off. Second attempt at ordering, I chose a drink off the given menu and was then told they didn’t have it and was given ANOTHER menu. Overall was just unhappy with the rudeness of staff. Definitely will not be going back!!
We ordered the tuna belly salad, gambas al ajillo and cod croquettes: all passable but the prices were atrocious. Nearly €13 for six measly pieces of shrimp! Heck, they were even stingy with the cod in the 4 croquettes.
Local sausage and white beans were really good according to hubby. I had a hard time finding something with out bell peppers but the tuna and arugula salad was good.Great location for people watching and no rush to turn over tables.
Went here twice for the tapas and will be going back to try there other foods. By far my most favourite restaurant to date in Barcelona. Great service, awesome tapas!!!! Loved the house wines. It’s rather a bit more expensive then other places but they serve much better quality wine and thus it’s worth the expense. Thanks to Loyd our server for making both of our visits awesome! Will be coming back again for sure before we leave BCN! ♥️😘🤗🍱🍛🍷👈🤤🥰😋
Tasted like street vendor, priced for a upscale restaurant. Sounds like a tourist trap. We ordered sautéed garlic shrimp, goat cheese salad and sangria. They served red bubbly wine/champagne with one orange slice in a lemonade glass with straw. That’s not sangria. That’s soda. The shrimp came within 2 mins of ordering, I asked if these were made fresh to which server said Yes. With half doubt in mind I tried it. It tasted like they had been soaked in oil and been mushed from Being soaked for a day or more. Not fresh at all. I had to leave it as is. The goat cheese salad (geeen leaves not as fresh but ok for a Burger King prepackaged saladsaved the meal from total rotten experience. The server was nice and always had a smile while servicing. Total bill 40 euros. Not satisfied. I would not come here again or recommend anyone either.
I had dinner at the place and the dishes were very tasty, we tried paella, lomo de salmon, mejillones and a Rioja. All well prepared and tasty. The price very reasonable.
It’s a lovely place. Unique setting- industrial yet artsy. We waited too long to order however. The food was good. We only had appetizers. We will return and hope for faster service and eat a full course. Our waiter was very kind.
TOURIST TRAP! I ate here and I sincerely regret it. We were fresh off the plane and I made a mistake of not checking the local customs before visiting a restaurant. My stupid mistake, but La Tramoia fully aided and abetted this crime. The waiter badgered me for a tip at the end of the meal. Stupidly, I had not realized this was not normal. At the start of the meal, they asked if we wanted water & bread, which I assumed would be complimentary, but I was naive and stupid again. They charged for all of it. The meal was actually OK, but the awful service by the waiter taking advantage of an unprepared diner made it a bad meal. It was my fault for being unprepared, but this is a tourist trap.
Definitely an overrated tourist trap. Notice all the good ratings below are given by "local guides" who likely get a discount for bringing in patrons....no joke! Garlic in minimal portion garlic shrimp was burned, although snails were cooked fine, were covered with a thick layer of table salt, waiter missed two appetizers, small beer brought instead of large, and were charged for $8 worth of bread when as in most restaurants would have been free. Waiter (skinny guy with the beardonly cared only about getting you out asap.....Final bill for both of us (along with 2 beerwas $65 Euros.... save your money and go elsewhere.
Started my first day in Barcelona here. The pulpo was as delicious as it was beautifully presented. The fideua was a little dry, but was my first experience with that dish, so maybe thats how it was supposed to be...
This restaurant has a wide variety of paella with fresh ingredients which is great but prices are above average and the time you spend waiting exceeds the acceptable. I understand that cooking paella takes some time to do but it shouldnt take as long as we had to wait. Waiters were moderatly kind which was a little unpleasant.
Where to start... The pinchos were definitely not fresh and I strongly recommend avoiding them. Then onto the main course: ordered a steak hamburger and was served a simple steak with reheated fries because of a translation error in the menu but I mean who eats a grinded meat steak.. all in all, lovely place for a drink but stay away from the menu..
Mediocre service but asking tips for several minutes. Food was also mediocre, sangria can be skipped, imbalance recipe making me thirsty whole night. My wife feels itch after taking a sip of sangria. She doesn’t feel better one hour past. Worst sangria I had in this price. I would recommend a simple bite of snack instead of tapas parade. The owner of this restaurant may ruin every moment. Waiter is looking for tips and wines are cheap. Not a option if you are seeking a fine tapas(dinner).
This place doesnt worth visiting. Weve ordered business lunch and waited... 2 hours! :instead of sightseeing, were waiting for our meals. I wouldt say they were delicious. Main course was overdone, chicken breast was firm. Even stupid vegetables were awful (immature tomato, almost raw zucchini). The only good thing was ice-cream... but without blackberry souse from menu. And menu... for Spanish business lunch costs 13.90, for English-speaking 15.90 :D
Food is good and service is oke. When youve got the bill and want to pay. Double check the money you gave in cash and get returned. They want to create their own tip, by giving you less money back (by us it was €9,00be carefull!!
Ordered the Steak for two for 65€ and it was well worth the price!! Great service
Good cozy place with good meditarian food. Unfortunately the food did not have any flavouring other that a few herbs on the top (I would have liked some salt or pepperthe staff was friendly and smiled all the way through a 3 way course (starter, main and desserttough our waiter forgot some of our drinks and who ordered what food, but it was understandable because we were a group of 24 people.
It was ok, nothing special and in the beginning the service was quick. Then after we have finished our food we waited 25 minutes (!!! Also staring at the waiter didnt help at all)for our bill , with a third reminder we finally got it. I wouldnt recommend going there. There are plenty other and nicer places for Tapas near by.
This cafe/ Restaurant is ok. It is in a good location. The service is a bit erratic as the waiter keep forgetting part of our order. We tried some tapas and they were so so. But if a tourist focused place.
The waiter was very impolite and unprofessional. We asked if there was fish in a salat, he said in his best English "no fish" and eventually there was tuna in it. This kind of actions are not only unqualified but also very dangerous. Food is heated in microwave and price is not worth it.
Reasonable prices for a quick bite
It isnt the most original or authentic place you can find in Barcelona, but its definitely fine, specially considering it is in a really touristic area, so at first it looks like a tourist trap. For my surprise, however, they actually serve decent food and have an efficient service (often, but sometimes it can be a bit slow). The menu is quite nice and inexpensive and the Crema Catalana is incredibly good.Lastly, they have a proper charcoal grill on the second floor, so their steaks and burgers are 100% recommended, completely worth the extra money on the menu without doubt. Also, that second floor is quieter than the ground one, has better views and makes this place ideal for (biggroups.
Really good food, nice restaurant, nice staff. They were really fast bringing the food; they had the barbecue inside on the 1st floor, looked great.Prices: they seemed good, we had the "Daily menu" and it was really cheap (15 euros for a full menu but we did not take the starter and paid half of that for main course, drink, desert). So 2 "half" menus cost us 15 euros and we had one extra water for 2 euros (the bottle looked nice); so really good for us (we had salmon, coffee, glass of wine and ice cream).Oh, the paper tissues at the bathroom were really nice and thick, they were folded as if they were towels.
From the time we walked in, no one greeted us at the door, we had to go in a little and tell someone next to the bar that we wanted a seat for two. So they tell us to sit anywhere, no big deal, so my girl pick a seat near the back with a bench with pillows and flower pots. As I was sitting, I felt something taping my shoulders and I look up and it was water dripping from the pipes above. This is during the time when the waiter is bringing us our food, which my girl ordered a sirloin steak burger. It came without bread or anything else. This was not specified on the menu that it was fillet. The waiter delivered my food and it was eggs over easy, with ham on top and French fries beneath. The menu indicated that it was scrambled eggs, not eggs over easy. BTW, no apology was given to us for the water dripping on us, nor did they even offer to relocate us to another section. To add insult to injury top I had to go to the bar to request another lemon drink because the waiter never return not even for the bill.
Nothing to do with honest spanish kitchen. Had to send back samgria. Had to send back paella. They bake it before Serving so it gets dry as f. ;)
We asked our hotel concierge for recommendations for dinner. One of the restaurants recommended was Tramoia, which provided free wine for each customer. We ordered one of the special dishes, Tuna with avocado and sesame, and we also ordered stewed monkfish with other seafood. The tuna was excellent – cooked medium rare, and the avocado and sesame sauce was a great accompaniment. Considering that the wine was free, the restaurant was generous with the amount. The monkfish had an interesting texture, though the gravy was slightly on the salty side. The main grouse we had was that the two dishes came without any carbohydrate – no fries, no bread, no potato. Considering that each dish cost at least 17 Euro, we had expected some form of carbohydrate. No wonder the waiter asked if we wanted to order bread. Besides the two dishes, we ordered two tapas – iberico ham with brie, and mushroom stuffed with cheese. The iberico ham, at $2.90, was not really worth it as it was really a very small piece. The mushroom tapas served two portions, and was very delicious, though still not quite value for money.
Very nice live cooking. Friendly waiter. Price is ok. Look at the photos!
Food was good but the staff was very rushed which resulted in a rather formal place to eat. If youre looking for something to eat but dont care about the staff, this is a great place for you.
the food was great the wine was cheap service is very friendly, the only reason Im giving it a four-star instead of a fly its because he did something they do in the US that is a pet peeve of mine, they brought the check before I asked for it.I had the mille-feuille dessert, it was awesome. Also, they are open very late so its great for people jet lagging.
