Spanish small plates, paella & sangria served in a vibrant space with murals & live music.
A very unique place. Lots of shareables that were quite flavorful and really tasty. You can find something on the menu for just about any taste or preference. Same can be said for the drinks. Definitely worth a trip!
We hosted a 50th Birthday party here last weekend in their Semi-Private room and it was lovely! I worked with Danny on the party in advance and he was very prompt and attentive to our needs. Our Servers were Fran and Pedro who did such an amazing job! On top of the excellent customer service, they have an extensive menu with delicious dishes! I would highly recommend La Tasca for dinners and parties and we will definitely be going back!
I will like to start off saying that I’m from Spain 🇪🇸. I was quite excited to hear that there was a Spanish Tapas restaurant, but was very disappointed by the environment and food. The food is VERY EXPENSIVE and not AUTHENTIC. It made my stomach hurt. For some reason it is spicy, when Spanish food isn’t! If you are looking for authentic Spanish food, then don’t go here. It also seems that they make most of their food with butter, when it in Spain you only use Olive Oil. I would give this place 0 stars!
Me and my boyfriend had such a wonderful experience here. Fantastic food, drinks, service, and just a really good vibe. We will defiantly be coming back here!
This restaurant is an amazing experience! The food is delicious, and the servers are so considerate. I highly recommend
Love this restaurant. Always worth the drive we make each time to join as a family & enjoy amazing food.
Definitely love the place will definitely go back again Istill want to try some other interesting food I saw on the menu
This place is great! We recently celebrated a birthday party in the large private room and the whole party was impressed. There were tons of food and drinks going around we all enjoyed ourselves, and the service was awesome too!! I highly recommend La Tasca...Great place to host a party!
Service was great, music...nightclub? and food, very good. The smaller tapas we tried were delicious - the bacon wrapped dates, stuffed mushrooms, and empanadas. The seafood paella was decent, but really wished the rice was a bit crisped at the bottom of the pan. I would definitely recommend this upscale tapas though for trying out a variety of smaller dishes.
The waitress charged us $2 over what was signed on the receipt with the tip. Found out after reviewing the credit card statement. Could have been an honest mistake but wanted to bring it up in case its a regular thing by this waitress.
A well established and worthwhile fine dining experience! You will not be disappointed by the service or food here.
Me and my friends came here to eat dinner. Tapas were good, although cheesecake had a texture of a candle and wasn’t tasty. Service was a big minus. Our waitress gave my friend different dish than what she ordered, a lot more silverware than we needed, she wasn’t listening to what we were saying. Gave us one check and didn’t even ask if we wanted to split it. She threw it and immediately left, so we couldn’t even ask for it. We had to wait for her to appear again. After she gave us three checks, she again left immediately, so I couldn’t ask for payment through apple pay.
We got 1 bottle of wine, it was great because it wasnt made here. That being said, the lamb chops with shishito peppers were great, most places overcook lollipops- these were good, but under seasoned. Im getting ahead of myself... Cheap white bread and butter dont scream tapas to me. It doesnt take much (effort or $to put olive oil out. That set me off. We had the spinach pastry with cheese, how do you char the corners and bottom when the center folds are raw? Your oven is too hot, its that simple. I say this because I believe this place could REALLY improve and rather easily. We also had the mussels, I was a bit disappointed that is was a mix of fresh and salt water you can tell by the color and because fresh water is fishier. Our waitress warned us it was spicy, we were looking for the spice and heat.Overall, disappointed, but I can see the progress. If this review is read Id like to hear what the restaurant has to say.Ive worked in a lot of restaurants and have a culinary degree, I feel like they just need a touch for help.If you could give half stars, Id add a half, totaling 2.5 stars, they are incredibley average with a decent wine list
Great food and a unique dining experience. Weve been coming for years and always satisfied. Highly recommend the tapas especially the bacon wrapped dates, potatas bravas, and tomato goat cheese bread. I have not had the paella but hear its good. Dont forget the flan!
Second-time dining at this restaurant and sadly itll probably be the last time! We came here to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy delicious food. The service was terrible, we didnt get our wine in a wine glass, or the bread until the end of our meal. We had to ask three different people for a high chair to sit our baby. So, you can imagine how uncomfortable the situation was trying to enjoy our dinner, feed our baby, and NOT cry because OUR DAY WAS RUINED! It was supposed to be a very special dinner and great time! Thank you kindly for the terrible time! The restaurant manager named Peter was dining with his family or friends across our table and did nothing to improve our services! P.S The restaurant is not KID friendly
Gosh, our server Emma was fabulous. Helped us pick great wine, delicious tapas, and was generally delightful. Highly recommended.
A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Everything weve tried has been good. The Paella portion is huge, you can easily get 5-6 portions out of one order.
The food was mediocre. The rapas specials, sea bass and calamari steak, were pretty good. Everything else was nicely described on the menu but just didnt taste like anything special. The vibe in the restaurant was casual but not too vibrant, like at other Spanish restaurants that we went to in the past. This wine was actually very good (see attached)
Incredible, delicious food! Great variety and lots of vegetarian options as well! Great wine! Our server Emma was attentive and very kind!
Food and service was outstanding! I went on a Friday night and both of the hosts were very kind. Would definitely recommend and for sure coming again!
Fantastic tapas, great atmosphere. Server had the perfect suggestions and timing on the plates. Waters filled and dirties all pick up. We had three deserts and all were fantastic but the flan was out of this world. Definitely try the octopus, dates, and the lamb chops. Nice drinks!
Emma provided us excellent service for our girls night out. She marked menu items she thought we would enjoy most and brought our food so quickly! Everything was delicious. Our favorite was the herbed goat cheese dip, bacon wrapped dates, and stuffed mushrooms. The lime coconut cheesecake was a delightful end to our meal! Will definitely be back.
La Tasca is the perfect place for a date. Emma was our server, she was fantastic. Emma had great recommendations, was knowledgeable about the menu, had great communication about what tapas were coming out and she was able to help set the pace of our meal. She was attentive to our needs and kept our table clean and ready for the next tapas! We also had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Peter, who gave us a tour and walk thru about packages that are offered too bigger groups (My fiancé and I are looking for venues for our rehearsal dinner, so this was a nice option to look at).Overall, this place is wonderful. The food and service are amazing.
Weve been coming here for years and for good reasons. The food is excellent and service is spot on. We literally ordered everything the server suggested and were beyond pleased with the selections. Highly recommend!
First time I had Spanish cuisine - Tapas (small Spanish dishes)All dishes are small and shareable. We ordered too many I think, but we finished all of them since everything is so tasty.I was never fan of dates but bacon wrapped dates in sauce are super delicious. Potatoes with cayenne sauce are must have with other dishes, it just goes perfectly. Dishes dont come together to the table, it comes as soon as it ready, which I dont usually like but I was patient enough to wait for all of it to come. Probably the best dish is the Goat cheese in tomato sauce, so thick, rich and complex, goes great with toasted bread. Octopus is also very fresh and spiced well. Only dish we didnt like was the fried eggplant, it was very sweet from honey, so we didnt finish that one. Beef tenderloin was tender and fries were like chips from Europe.. Very interesting place and great menu! Only disappointment was cheesecake, its not even close to any other cheesecake I tried, it could be different style, but it just wasnt prepared good. Service is friendly and easy going. Huge recommendation for this restaurant!
Awesome place, food was delicious and the service was excellent. The server got us drinks right away and didnt pressure us on ordering while looking over the menu. The server was very patient explaining the most popular tapas and gave really good suggestions. Definitely coming back and would recommend 100%
Good food, comes out in a timely fashion. Our first sangria was really dry, we asked for it sweeter and the next pitchers were perfect. There is outdoor seating.
Service ok. Food portions tapas, very small. Ordered 4 tapas Scallops, 14.95, 2 tiny scallops in it.Main dish cold, definitle not worth prices. We were all still hungry still. Super loud dance music piping out speakers which would be fine but it was bit much constant.Emilio knocks this place out in a heartbeat. Will not be back
Amazing service and very flavorful Spanish tapas.
Absolutely love La Tasca! We have been regulars since they opened over 20 years ago. Mic drop.UPDATE: Three years later, LA Tasca is still my favorite restaurant in the world. Tonight I started with a delicious gazpacho ("Spanish penicillin"), followed by the Cordero - superb lamb chops with roasted shishito peppers. What an amazing dish! Just remember, these are tapas. Dont expect a quarter pounder! I finished with a caramel flan and Licor 43, a delightful vanilla liqueur. Just extraordinary!
Right next to the tracks, this beautifully decorated Tapas restaurant offers a variety of fresh seafood options on small shareable plates. The main event was the seafood paella, which typically takes 30-40 minutes to prepare. When it came out, our server carefully divided it into potions for all members of our party. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. Definitely will be back next time I’m in town.
Food was great, we got the bacon covered dates, lamb shanks, and passionfruit cheesecake. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the paella was not super flavorful, Ive had so many better ones.
Go Hungry!!!!!! This place has so many options and every item is amazing. Must try rack of lambs, seafood Paella and every Tapas in the menu.Nice variety of cocktails and deserts.
This restaurant is by far the worst place we’ve ever eaten. Literally, only 2 bites of the lamb chop. The rice was cold and tasted refrigerated/frozen like.My chicken was horrid. Chicken Gordon blue tastes 1,000% better. $60 down the drain.Driving to gene and Jude’s for a real dinner
After having gone here for years, La Tasca remains an excellent place to come for dinner. The food is superb and the drinks are wonderful. Dont worry if you cant pronounce the name of the dishes - the staff is friendly and helpful. Its a bit of a party atmosphere, so if you are looking for a quiet night out, this is probably not the place.
Overall food are very delicious. Especially the calamari, so tender and tasty. Seafood patella has various big mount seafood in it. The portion for two is quite big and enough for sharing with 4 peoples. But the taste can be better.
Keeps on getting better. At least once a year we make a special trip just for La Tasca. Went last night for my friends birthday and continue to be impressed. The cold and warm tapas are amazing-- and they keep on tasting better year after year! We got the lobster special, beef, pork, chicken, veggie plates, calamari, and dessert; nothing disappointed. Service was unbelievable too, just really great. Safe mitigation protocols are in place. Highly recommended.
An amazing experience! Been going there since they opened their doors. Still the best restaurant in Arlington Heights - or NW Burbs, in my opinion. Recently, held a baby shower there. The staff were extremely accommodating, with over and above service in every aspect. Everyone had great things to say about the ambiance, service and dining experience. Highly recommend!!!
We came here for our Anniversary. We were very disappointed with the seafood paella. It had NO flavor at all. Food does not taste the same as it did a few years ago. I used to really enjoy the food here. It was not worth $140. Server failed to ask if paella was for 1 or 2 people. My husband had ordered a burger for him and I asked for a seafood paella. We also ordered 3 hot tapas which were delicious. 45 mins later I received a paella that was for 2 instead of for 1 person. I recommend this place for hot tapas but not for paella. Very sad I probably won’t be coming back.
Super delicious food and prices are reasonable. Definitely my new favorite place in the area to eat
Authentic Spain restaurant. Good taste and good location but portion is too small for the price.
An upscale Spanish place in downtown Arlington Heights. Delicious food with a very wide spread of options for vegetarians. We tried a few hot tapas and then feasted on the veggie Paella which was fantastic. Definitely big on the proportions for a party of two but it was absolutely worth the wait. Would definitely come back again and recommend this place to anyone looking to try out Spanish cuisine.
Exquisite! We had chorizos a la Española, crab cakes and the mixed paella. The chorizo sauce was a bit salty, but we loved everything. We will be back next time.
The best paella I have had in many years, fresh and with tons of seafood and flavor. Awesome service too :D
We’ve been going to La Tasca Tapas for years! They always have the freshest food and best service! This year we went to celebrate my 30th birthday. I was nervous to dine out because of COVID, however when we saw how La Tasca Tapas spaced out their outdoor seating, and had the precautions taken to make sure we would be dining safely, I felt better.Additionally, the food did not disappoint! We ordered 8 tapas and they were perfectly timed out and came out of the kitchen piping hot! It was perfect.Rob, our server, was also FANTASTIC. He was attentive, quick with service, and refilled our waters constantly. Also, Rob gave me the best advice for my 30th birthday and that is, “You are exactly where you’re suppose to be.” We enjoyed his conversation and his service.La Tasca Tapas is the BEST. Check out their carry out menu, too!!
Nice tapas place in downtown Arlington heights. Service was amazing. Food was good, and many plates to choose from. For dessert their flan was the best part of the meal.
The bread was dry and almost stale, wouldn’t take much to warm it up I guess... the pork tenderloins super dry and tasteless, potatoes bravas were from a plastic bag in frozen foods department. Only one great dish we’ve had was the octopus and shrimp! For the prices I expected much better food.
I have heard about this place through friends and family, finally got a chance to check it out and it was delicious! The Seafood Paella was fresh! Friendly staff, definitely will be back.
Stepping in to La Tasca (Spanish for bar/pub), youll notice the arched doorways any brick walls that make you feel like youre in a bodega. The menu offers a variety of classic Spanish tapas, which are small-plate appetizers originating from pieces of bread placed over wine glasses to keep out flies. As time went on, cheese, olives, and meat were placed on top of the bread creating the tapas we know today. Select from favorites such as tortilla española, queso de cabra, empanadas and more. La Tascas variations on these small plates are spot on and very tasty. They come out as they are ready, which may create a cluttered table, so pace your orders accordingly. Everything from the sangría, to the tapas, to the desert was excellent. My only complaint is that they serve butter with the break instead of olive oil.
Dined around 9pm on a Wednesday. Very quiet. A few tables and bar guests. Waiter, Mike, was quick to greet me and get a drink order. He had excellent menu knowledge and gave us some great suggestions. We opted for the special. Five tapas of your choice, cold or hot and dessert for $45pp. The grilled octopus with red potatoes was excellent as well as the assorted aged Spanish cheeses. The stuffed mushrooms with golden raisins, chorizo and sage were excellent. The Sangria was average nothing special. The baked banana and pistachio ice cream was good. Overall it was a good experience. Good food and excellent service. I would definitely try this restaurant again and explore the many tapas choices they have or paella.
