La Tabernilla del Darro - Bar & grill in Granada, Spain
Loved this place and the guy serving at the bar was awesome. He went out of his way to give a great customer experience. Even carving Jamon fir us when the kitchen was closed. Great wine, Great Jamon Great Vibes
Beautiful place, nice food and drinks, polite service. Would go again.
Lovely drinks, tapas, service and ambiance.
Lovely wine - great recommendation from the waiter. Delicious food. beautiful setting
Our favorite meal in Granada. Also the best service and ambiance we encountered in the city. Olives, artichokes, octopus, and pork cheeks were all fantastic. And the homemade vermouth- so so good!
Such a cool and special place. You must go there at least once when you’re in Granada!
Cool cave shaped tavern provides a great relief from the 40 degree heat outside. The food is also good.
Nice location, unfriendly service. Didnt serve anything with wine (not even some olives).
Good food in a delightful atmosphere. Excellent service.
Loved this place!! First, you are inside a cave! Its pretty cool. Theyve maintained it well. Nice decor. Good music in the background. We sat by a window overlooking the river Darro the 1st time. Our server was very nice. We had a few beers and tapas, which were excellent and took dessert home.We went back the next day and had wine. Service was good as well. Definitely recommend!!
The taberna is inside of a cave.. the ambience is superb and food good
Delicious tapas for lunch, good wine selection, service and atmosphere!
Sadly, horrible service. Servers were rude, took forever to come to our table, brought the wrong food, forgot parts of our order, never checked in, and we basically had to chase down service to get the things we asked for. Would not return and would not recommend.
Terrible service - not worth it. Had lunch with a party of 4. Ordered 4 dishes to share along with drinks. The host verbally repeated and confirmed the 4 dishes back to me. 2 dishes came out of quick but then the staff totally forgot about us. 25 minutes went by as we just patiently waited for our food. Only after I went to the bar did I find out that 2 of my dishes were never placed with the kitchen. The worst part is that no members of the staff apologized for the mistake (I speak Spanish). Its okay to make mistakes but at the very least acknowledge them and apologize for the poor experience as it definitely leaves a bad taste on guests mouths. Highly disappointing.
We stopped there for a glass of wine because of its picturesque location. Would definitely recommend, but Id rather sit outside given a chance.
This is an incredible little venue, in the shadow of the Alhambra. Worth going out of your way to visit.
Very cosy place to have a drink and tapas. High quality drinks and food. Beautiful location
First day in Granada, we were walking up the street when we see this little bar. We stopped there with no expectations. Well, lets say it was a perfect place, quiet and the tapas were really really good. Nice to go !
Pleasant location sitting outside by the river Darro. Inside has barrel vaulted ceilings and is very cosy.
Delicious vermouth and fantastic location by the river. Slightly pricier than other places.
Simply sublime. So much food in Granada is fried, but this was all super fresh, local meat truly delicious. 10/10 would come again. Best food we’ve had in the region.
Atmospheric, little Tapas Bar close to the Albaicin district. Excellent, friendly service. Visiting on a January Monday night, at least a couple of the menu dishes were unavailable but the Octopus was superb, as were the house wines we tried.
It was a cold and rainy night - literally. It was freezing and we didnt want to go far, and this place was right across the street from our hotel. The ambience is great and the food is delicious. Attached a photo of just the appetizer - mango and goat cheese covered in honey. THe rest of the food was just as inventive and delicious.
Such a great find .. sat outside having a drink and free tapas and it felt like being in a fairytale
Went there for some drinks before our dinner reservation. Very lively place, located just on the bank of Rio Darro overseeing the busy street of Carrera del Darro.Inside the place was nicely decorated with a rusty feel. We were party of 7 so had to stay outside as there weren’t many big tables inside. The drink menu was decent. We ordered a selection of white, red and beers. There is a mandatory 10% gratitude added to the bill perhaps for large groups.Overall pretty descent place with great location.
Cool atmosphere but very slow service and the food wasn’t that great. Kind of confused by all the other rave reviews. Maybe we caught them on an off night.
Best place to spend late evening - a glass of Cava or local red and tapas will warm you even during cold Granadas evening. Place to return over and over again.
Really cute and cozy underground place next to the river. Fantastic selection of wines, good tapas, and superb service from our waiter Roberto who is a lovely host. Would recommend to anyone looking for a glass of wine and tapas in the afternoon/evening.
Weird place to find but great people and a very hard working creative chef in a very small kitchen. Well organised. Very limited menu and few fresh ingredients or cooking due to the space constraints. Worth a visit for a quirky meal in an interesting space.
My boyfriend and I happened to be walking by la Tabernilla on our last evening in Sevilla and were so excited to realize that this was one of the top locations for really good wine and tapas! The space was beautiful and the staff were so generous and kind - seating us with the full menu despite it being the final hour. The food was absolutely delicious and it was a PERFECT night cap to my friends birthday evening. Thank you La Tabernilla for making our evening special!
Incredible dinner experience thanks to Jero!I suggest to reserve a table inside the "Tabernilla" if you want to have dinner there and get a memorable moment.Queso, atun, salmon and beef are simply incredible, and the service extremely gentle and amazing. Here you can have a taste of some typical dishes and wines, especially if you wish to try different ones.Standing ovation for Jero, who suggested us each dish and combination with wine.Simply a great night!
Very quirky place good tapas (as with every bar!)free with drinks. Didnt order from menu but looked great, had we just not eaten we would have done . Very low ceiling but this adds to the ambience .
This place is simply amazing. It serves traditional Spanish food with the cooks personal touch. And the cook has the Midas touch. It is also located in a beautiful part of Granada, along the Darro. Try it, you will love it.
Honestly it would be a 3.5The service is quite friendly but sometimes you feel left out, the waiting times between asking for something else are disappointing. The food is not bad but its quite expensive for the serving sizes. The space is good looking but there are not many spaces for more than 2 people, the music is not bad at all and its not too loud
Fantastic place! We went here several times whilst visiting Granada, and had great experiences. The first time we were here, José did a great job as our server, giving spot-on recommendations and very attentive service. One of our subsequent visits was not so great, but José and Carolina treated us very well the next.Ive already recommended this place to multiple friends/family.
Hi,Although a very good position in the city, a nice ambience with really good music and a lovely view, we found price a bit too high compare with the food quality which is just ok. We were expecting the same efforts to be putted on our plates, because at the end of the day nice a restaurant aim should be a great meal. For example with a small effort the tapas can be improved without a big investment and for my personal taste the jam on top of your carpaccio just kill what could be a great dish, sometimes easy is great.Seeing the young friendly staff Im sure you gonna nail it!Good luck, Federico ✌️
This is one of my favourite places I Granada. We have been back for the last 4 years but this year has by far been the best. The service was amazing. The food and wine recommendations were superb. Got both mine and my husbands wine tastes exactly and introduced us to wines we had never had before. I would recommend and will continue to visit year on year! :)
La Tabernilla del Darro is a little place in Granada town center that me and friend choose for the location and the good rate on google maps.We had tapas and sangria, what a classic, we have to say that the tapas were very good, not the classic that the turistic place normally offers.Location is very romantic.Negative things: the service is extremaly slow, we waited 45 mins for 3 tapas that didn t even need to be cooked. We found the staff quite stressed, as the place was busy. After have complained for the long waiting, a staff member said that the tapas with the ham was free to apologize for the long waiting. When we asked the check, there was no discount. As you can imagine we were disappointed, we didn t said anything,we paid and we left.
Love this spot! Great cozy atmosphere in a cave! The food was amazing! We got great recommendation from the wait staff and some dishes that we didnt even order to try....so yummy. They were very patient with us as we were trying to speak in Spanish, they also spent the time teaching us new words and phrases.
This place is absolutely beautiful. Very cozy and the Vermouth is fantastic and fairly priced.$9 for three glass seems the standard around Spain beside a few exceptions. We also got free tapas. I will be going back in a few hours for sure.
I chose this place over another one less expensive, because the reviews for the food are good. When I went in for lunch, I was the only customer there. The waitress was very nice and brought me a glass of red wine and a tapa. I told her I would look at the menu and order lunch. A couple came in and was seated and served. After that, the three staff people never bothered with me again. I was seated in a small alcove near the reception stand. They looked my way a couple of times as they quickly passed, but never long enough for me to get their attention. I kept expecting the first waitress to come back to take my order. I had an empty glass and an empty tapas plate, if anyone had paid attention. There is no excuse for this kind of negligence when the staff outnumbers the customers!!!
Lovely staff. Cosy with a true Granada vibe. Excellent wine and food. A good place to go after visiting Alhambra.
Great service, decent tapas (red peppers), good drinks (house red wine was nice, Alhambra beer on tap, cavaand the cheese, surtido and tortilla dishes were great. Full of locals and despite being spitting distance from the tourist traps, felt a bit off the beaten track
You see this place from across the street and you think there cannot be a more romantic bar to go to. The vibe is busy and the staff are friendly. The drinks collection is impressive and the tapas served there is the best of what can be out there! I would go back every time I am in Granada. Perfect for a couple, a group of friends, or even the solo traveler!
Great place to go with your SO. Wine is expensive, bring some cash. We paid 21 euros for that bottle. Which in another restaurant only can cost 12 euros (now this is a specific wine place). Young personnel is a bit annoying, but the older one is better. Let them tell you which wine to take, but be quick when you decide on it.There are 3 seats and 2 in particular which are super romantic, want to impress or just have an amazing evening. Go there and have fun walking afterwards in the amazing streets of Granada.Food is also expensive af.
I had a business meeting here with a colleague from Barcelona, what was a casual meal that should have only last 60 minutes, turned into 3 hours of enjoying the atmosphere, the company and the excellent food and wine served. If you are in Granada and in the Albayzin, this place is a MUST. The wine selection and the food to pair it with are incredible. Also, the location is too perfect and charming.
Nice small bar with outside seating, overlooking a small stream.
Nice venue, tasty foods and good service
NOT a tapas bar despite various scribes on the net stating it is. Great little bar, wonderful location and extra points if you can get a seat outside. Smallish list, maybe 6 bottles, but all carefully picked. Service can get stretched. Serve of olives with each drink purchased.
Really nice restaurant with friendly staff. Good tapas style food. Broad beans were delicious.
