La Spezia - Pizza restaurant in Puerto Escondido, Mexico
La Spezia in Puerto Escondido
Description
Privilege
Specializes in pizza but I was in the mood for pasta, so had Bolognese. Very, very good. Ordered agua del dia, great-tasting but despite two attempts at asking, couldnt quite figure out how it was made (language barrierbut I ordered twice that day because it was different and good. Pleasant, breezy outdoor setting for a relaxed dinner. Service was a little slow because very crowded (probably a good sign!but once you got their notice, waiters were attentive. Pizza smelled so good that I will go back again to try it. Place is highly rated for good reason.
MoreThe best frutti di mare pizza I ever had!Having a lot of good pizzas in Europe we were skeptical about trying pizza in Mexico. But we were positively surprised! A bit pricy but the pizzas were really delicious! Recommend going there!
MoreGreat pizza joint in the Rinconada. Definitely coming back! The owners are awesome.
MoreThis restaurant is excellent, I cant recommend it enough! I had the frutti de mare, and I absolutely mean it when I say it was the best one I ever had. The pasta tasted homemade and fresh, and the staff and service were great. The owner is also Italian, so between him and the excellent chef, I highly recommend!
MoreWe stayed in La Rinconada for 3 weeks and visited La Spezia twice a week. The dough was perfect, just like in Italy. We enjoyed the Caprese salad, spaghetti pasticciati and the peperita pizza. The Italian red wine was also good, so that was a nice surprise.
MoreYou can’t go wrong with La Spezia. It’s one of my goto restaurants in puerto. Great food and great service. I personally love their pizzas and salads. I’m getting hungry just looking at the picture I took 😋
MoreDelicious aubergine pasta and also pizza margarita with buffalo mozzarella. Friendly service and a very good price-quality ratio!
MoreDefinitely the best pizza in Puerto, authentic Italian style pizza with great and fresh ingredients. The dishes in general are awesome, La Spezia is a must in Rinconada!
MoreBest pizza in town without a doubtA1 staff too, super chill and cool crew here. I am a regular. Affordable too.
MoreOur favorite pizza so far on the Rinconada. 16oz cerveza’s for 30 peso’s as well. Highly recommended!
MoreThe pizza dough was on point and the pasta we had was nice, I was surprised by the quality of the Bolognese. I make my own pasta too, Id like to see a higher gluten flour used or mix in some semolina. Rest assured though it is fresh pasta. For a tourist area this a good restaurant and Id be happy to eat their food in the UK.
MoreThere have been very few moments in my life were I have been as grateful for food as when pizza came to my table at La Spezia. I had been feeling very depressed the entire, worried about my recently ex-girlfriend, stressing about the future, and googling to see if I had bipolar disorder. Then, they brought me pizza, and I was happy. As I sit here eating this each slicy of gooey cheese falls into my mouth and makes me happier as I eat. I must learn to not associate food with happiness lest I become a pig, but this pizza makes me so happy. Reasonably priced, wonderful staff, five stars.
MoreScammers. They charged my card twice for one order. Ive contacted them and they tried to solve the problem first, but havent in the end. After I claim it to my bank, they have lied with fake proofs. Never coming back again.
Morenot the prettiest place from outside but dont miss it! the food is super delicious, pizzas are very good, pastas as well and Nutella cheese cake yummy 😋
MorePizzas are thin crust pizza, it was delicious. Get two if youre more than two people. Its family run and they take their time to make delicious pizza so be patient (15min). We didnt try the wine but local beer was great.
MoreWe really enjoyed our food here. We were welcomed promptly after arriving and received great service. We had pasta but the pizzas looked good.
MoreIm writing this surprised at just how good this place was. Pizza in Mexico? I will be honest, I wasnt expecting much but the pizzas were superb: excellent dough and toppings. Id happily recommend this to anyone who likes good pizza.
MoreSurprisingly tasty house made Gnocchi with Pesto, didnt expect to find that in Puerto Escondido. The Pizza was good, too. A good choice if youre up for Italian food during your stay at PE.
Morevery nice authentic pizza, a good lovely service, the prices are totally fine. I have high standards in italian food and i would recomend this place to 100%!
MoreWe liked everything we had there - bruschetta, Caesar salad, and several pastas. Shout out to our server (his name is Noel if I remember correctlywho is a literal ANGEL
MoreProbably the best pizza in Puerto (having eaten at 3 or 4 pizza places whilst here)All pizzas are cooked fresh in a proper pizza oven with homemade dough bases. Great quality sauce, cheese and toppingsPastas are also very good with a range of options and pasta types availableBetween 150-200 pesos for a pizza is great value with friendly service and a nice atmosphere
MoreWe tried out La Spezia and were absolutely thrilled with both the service and food. We have spent lots of time in Italy and their bruschetta, caprese salad, and carbonara were fantastic and prepared correctly. Nahuel was an amazingly good server and made our experience so enjoyable. As a young man of Italian descent, he was friendly, attentive and did an great job of making the evening perfect. There was live music that was fantastic and we have already reserved for another dinner!
MoreExcellent food. We had a pizza and gluten free pasta (which is impossible to find in Puerto Escondido -for celiacs). A meal most welcome for our family of four. The service was outstanding- friendly, quick and competent. Nahuel our server was efficient, attentive and so nice. Thanks- we will be back.
MoreAmazing food! Service was impeccable. We had pizza and gluten free pasta which is near impossible to find in Puerto Escondido. It was amazing and I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. Our waiter Nahuel was super polite kind and great to talk too. anyone who says the food or service is not good clearly had they pants in a knot before going. I would rate is 6 stars if that was possible.
MoreThe wine wasn’t good - at all. Had some trouble with the service. It was very busy to be fair. The pasta was top shelf- handmade. Hit the spot.
MoreAbsolutely love this restaurant. Staying in Rinconada for a month and have already been to The Spezia 5 times. The pasta is homemade daily. Our favourites are Fettuccine Alfredo (al dente), Pesto Gnocchi and Spinach Ravioli with Mushroom sauce. Delicious. Friendly owners and staff 👍
MorePasta was disgusting… we haven’t finished even 1/4th of the meal.Salmon cream pasta was too creamy, it did have that milk smell. My tomato seafood pasta was too sour. It felt like that the sand from seafood was grinding on my teeth. I have tried seafood pasta before at multiple places and I have never had that sand taste.
MoreBest pizza Ive had in a long long long time. We have gone twice now, once we tried the pastas which were also good, but the pizza was simply the best. Many good choices to pick from too.
MoreA bit off the beaten path but worth it. Great food, great service. Stop by to satisfy your pizza craving and have a chat with the owner. Highly recommend this local spot.
MoreHand-made pasta, amazing flavours, good service. The best Italian food on the Rinconada. And the pesto pizza was deeelish as well.
MoreDo not walk. RUN. I’m from NYC so I find it to be a gamble to try pizza in a new city let alone another country. It can be quite hit or miss. This one is a HIT! So good and the perfect size for one person. Cozy outdoor seating with a nice breeze and friendly service. Thank you 🙏🙏
MoreWorst service Ive ever experienced... Saw my pizza there waiting for the waiter to pick it up and bring it to me for 10 minutes (it was about 2 meters from me). As an Italian I expected more from a fellow Italian preparing the pizza, burnt crust and poor ingredients quality. Do better.
MoreI used to love this place! Food was great and the servers were very friendly. But last night we waited an hour for an order of pasta and then it was cold. Seems that they are short staffed.
MoreI really recommend this place. Both Pizza and Pasta were very tasty. Especially the self made Pasta was just delicious. The staff was also very friendly :)
MoreGreat food. Me and my partner both got a pasta dish. The Bognese was one the best I have ever had. As a bonus the prices are great. Will definitely be returning.
MoreGood food and service. The ravioli with walnut sauce is incredible. We split it as an appetizer.
MoreBest pizza in Puerto. Seriously have to eat. Great service too
Wow! Everything was perfect about the pizza. The crust and base were amazing, the tomato sauce was very tasty and generously applied and the cheese and meat toppings were also spot on. Literally not one negative. Very affordable price for one of the best pizzas Ive ever eaten.
MoreExcellent pizza and pasta! fresh tasty good staff Recommend
Food is great and they have quality italian wine options like DOCG branded Chianti Classico 👌🤌Service is good and the atmosphere is totally what I want after a long day!One of my favorites in Puerto for sure!
MoreAbsolutely delicious! We shared the bruschetta, a caesar salad and a small pizza.
MoreCracking pizzas, pasta and accompanying wines at very reasonable prices. Other menu options available too. Very helpful and polite team. Clean, fresh and airy eating place. Weve become regular customers. Gracias chicos!
MoreLarge portions. Ravioli was tasty and creamy, healthy filling spinach and cottage cheese. Service was okay. Good italian spot if youre looking for somewhere nice and quiet.
MorePastas were alright. The pizza cream and mushrooms has really no taste and they didnt have chill sauce.DisappointedThe service were fast very fast
MoreBest pizza in Puerto Escondido. Run by an Italian guy, ingredient quality is fantastic, best crust, great service. We eat here every week.
MoreBest pizza in puerto hands down! We had pasta dishes with homemade fettuccini that wss pure heaven. super clean, has nice bathrooms and outdoor seating. The service is wonderful... i highly recommend this italian restaurant.
MoreWe had the pleasure of discovering this cozy Italian spot in playa Carrizalillo. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic! It was a joy to meet Monica and Franco, the owners of La Spezia, they are a lovely Italian couple who brought with them many years of experience in the restaurant business. You must absolutely try Francos pizza, made with a secret mix of different flours, it gives you all the richness of a perfect Italian pizza without leaving you feeling full and bloated like all the other pizzas in Puerto Escondido. The hand made pasta is also a must have, beautifully light but so satisfying, they use only all fresh and local ingredients from the god blessed land of Oaxaca. This place is so amazing that they even make their own house made mozzarella, you heard that right...they make their own mozzarella right there in the restaurant, just this alone is worth the visit. My partner and I went back three times in the one week we were there. My Partner and I both live in Canada, but he is Italian and said that eating at La Spezia has been like being back in his beloved Italia. Thank you La Spezia family, we wish you all the best, and we cant wait to eat at your table again!
MoreJust left there tonight truly a bad experience we did Not get our ceaser salad with our spaghetti and meat balls I ask the girl to bring over the bill clearly written But on a separate Bill a couple we were with ordered 2 ceasers with chicken she forgot to write 2 down and gave our ceaser to them....still waiting for their brus hetta. However gave up on my ceaser we left. In the next moment we see a ceaser salad come to a table be side us huge my friends was so small four bite GONE.no bread served with pasta soooooo do not recommend no compensation
MoreSeriously AMAZING Italian food! At first we were sceptical because why would you want Italian food in Mexico? But when our friends took us here we were so happy! The pasta, pizza and bruschetta we had was fantastic. We were here for 2 weeks and came her several times because we kept craving it! They’re alsoPretty fast getting the food out to you which is a nice change from the usual Mexican timeline. To have 2 glasses of wine, with appetizer and 2 pasta dishes it came to around $30 for us as a couple and the portions were huge, we were stuffed! This is unheard of in Canada and honestly the quality of the food beats a lot of Italian places in Canada too. I’d absolutely recommend this place, it’s completely worth trying.
MoreIt was ok but nothing special. The place doesnt have WiFi and A/C. Service and prices were ok.
