We went there following a recommendation for a place to get a good Fiorentina steak. It was great

Would give 5 stars, but the service needs to be better. We ordered a beef ragu pasta and bottle of wine and they ever managed to bring our food, but still haven’t got our wine. We gave several notes and when we almost finished our food, then they brought our wine. We did a reservation, so definitely recommend to call them before.

Best ravioli in the area! The gnocchi was excellent as well. Super cute setting with friendly staff. Highly recommend stopping for lunch (I’m sure dinner is great too).

Excellent restaurant a bit off the beaten track - although that didnt stop it being packed on a Thursday night. Great Tuscan food from a confidently small menu.We had pasta primi courses and shared a steak which seemed like it was about a third of a cow, it was so big. Everything was delicious. If youre in the area, its a real find.

Excellent, the wines, the food and the service was by far some of the best Tuscany has to offer.

Really good food and a very nice atmosphere. Nicely decorated and very authentic. Waiters are nice and the menu is quite versatile. We had been around different restaurants in the area - all where good but this was properly the best. Busy place so reservation is recommended.

We did not make a reservation so we couldnt have the best view but did have one of the best meals in Tuscany at this restaurant. Staff was friendly and spoke good English, service was also quite smooth and fast even during the peak of dinner time. The wild boer ragu pasta was mindblowing and also the cut (steakof the day was perfect medium rare. We asked a wine recommendation to go with the dishes we ordered and it fit very well. The price range was very fair for the quality of food and drink you have in the region. I will definitely visit again when I am in the neighborhood.

Spectacular location, food and service! A true gem we found out when passing on our way to Firenze from Montalcino. We arrived during a gorgeous sunset with moonrise, the staff was extremely kind and patient to help us choose the right sized of a fiorentina beef to suit us and not to let any go to waste, perfect recommendations of wine, side dishes and overall the environment. Kind of place that Id go out of my way to revisit and take friends 🤗 Thanks a lot dears and keep up the great work!

A wonderful Trattoria - lively, great atmosphere and excellent food.Make sure you have a reservation for the evening, otherwise it is likely you have to wait / return.They are famous for the Bistecca Florentine - though everything we had was very tasty and it would be wrong to only visit them for the Bistecca.The staff was very helpful and service oriented - many thanks!

Very cosy restaurant with excellent food

Everything was SO delicious! We tasted the pici with pesto, the pasta with wild boar ragout, and the steak with rosemary and potatoes. Fantastic wine selection too. My only regret is that I didn’t save room for dessert.

Amazing place on the side of the road, sort of a hidden gem. Make sure to book in advance, very well worth it. We were lucky enough to get a table showing up at opening time, but the place filled up within an hour. The food, the wines, the service were exceptional.

Nice ambiance, friendly staff and very nice food. Big enough portions. I had the bread dumplings with saffron and liked it a lot.

OMG. 1kg Fiorentina to die for! Soooo authentic, including 1950s juke box and Coca Cola fridge. The food is just amazing, no rush, quiet and relaxed. Must not miss on your Tuscan travels!

We came to this restaurant in order to get lunch. We werent disappointed. The menu is changed accordingly to the season. Our visit was in autumn, accordingly there were gnocchi on the menu which were prepared with pumpkin: A dish that I can definitely recommend. Everything else was also delicious. The waiter was very nice and service was fast.

So amazing we went two days in a row which we never do. The menu is traditional food of Tuscany. The menu is handwritten. Its absolutely amazing! The chef and staff are proud of what they are serving. It is packed from the moment it opens but I never needed a reservation because they have outside seating. Just fantastic.

Small place, good food, non traditional Italian menu. Nice decoration. However, most of the time fully booked. Definitely make a reservation if you want to have dinner here.

Amazing stake . We took the place spacial stake 1.6kg for 4 persons . If it is your first time do not order anything else.We sow that most of the guests ordered it too.Do not miss this place if you are close.Better to book in advance.

Not the friendliest service (unless you are a local!the food is pretty average for this part of Tuscany. Not bad but not a single stand out that would make you long to go back

Normally, I don’t write bad reviews but the food was okay, nothing spectacular. The steak was chewy:( which is terrible. The staff were so unlike most Tuscan people, the staff needs a class in customer service. Outdoor seating covered in cheap plastic next to the road. The wine here was horrible, worst wine in Tuscany, maybe they bought cheap wine and tried to pass it off as Tuscan. My husband and I recommend Ristorante San Lucchese. Service @ San Lucchese is impeccable and the T-bone steak is made to perfection. Please don’t waste your time and $$ at la Sosta di pio, be warned.

Great service, offered gluten free bread & pasta, very reasonably priced wines, and the steak was excellent. Highly recommend going here.

Great location, great food. The Fiorentina was amazing. Very good choice of wines. You feel at home in this restaurant.

This is a review by an Italian whom has visited thousands of restaurants: dont believe comments you see on restaurants on the area, they are made by tourists that they dont really understand Italian food. All that said, after a week of commercial restaurants rated 4/5 stars but that they dont deserve that rate at the end the only restaurants worth of five star is this one!

Decent food, sure. However not better than anywhere else near and given the very standard of restaurants weve experienced elsewhere in Tuscany, the service here felt very poor.The grilled sausages were served far too salty and when we mentioned this to the waitress, rather than accept the feedback and swap the plate out, she scoffed and said "thats how it is in Tuscany". No, it isnt, thank you...

Its a cute place with a handwritten menu, but the service is pretty bad. After seating they ignored us for a bit and when they did bring our dishes, they didnt stop walking to put them down. Then they came back and slammed the bucket of olive oil and salt and pepper on the table without saying a word. They never came back to check on us until we asked for the check. The food is good but so is almost every place in Tuscany so I would skip this and go somewhere else where they will welcome your business not treat you like a burden.

Very dispointed! At first we were very lucky we got a table without a reservation.Some members of the staff were friendly and obliging others were unfriendly and arrogant.Overall we waited more than 50 minutes for our meal. After this long time it wasnt even that great and pretty expensive too.We wouldnt eat here again.

The restaurant "La sosta di Pio VII" is the must visit for anyone who wants to experience the real Tuscany. The ambiance is just amazing, very unique and exclusively vintage.The best Bistecca alla Fiorentina ever! I honestly think it was the best stake I have ever tried. It was as tender as you basically do not need to chew it and so flavorful. See my pictures.We also had the sampler of the antipasti and it was very delicious. The Toscanian wine, which restaurant staff suggested was absolutely in tune with the food we have eaten and and had just amazing taste.Dolci or Desserts - I tried four different ones, all were very good. My favorite two were the Mascarpone with prunes and the Tiramisu.

What a nice atmosphere for this lovely and very good restaurant. Decoration is charming, Service is very friendful and last but not least food is tasteful. Large choice of wines. A place to go if you are lucky to be around!

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I would not dine here again. Reservation for 4--we arrived on time and were greeted. We were seated in the plastic enclosed "patio", which was very noisy with crying toddlers and babies. There were children on scooters riding around other guests, and TWO DOGS who were eating from the tables at times. Our server was very snarky to us the entire time we were there. We ordered wine (difficult because not all the wine is available in full bottles and the pricing is not clear), appetizers and entrees. We waited for almost an hour for our food. In fact, we drank an entire bottle of wine and two bottles of water. Another group of 4 was seated the same time we were, and had finished their meal of steaks and lamb... and we were still waiting for our food! When our food arrived it was disappointing. It was not fresh, the taste was less than mediocre and the presentation was simply horrendous. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I would not dine here again.
