Excellent aquarium that remains educational but fun for kids. My five year old absolutely loved it. Clean, well maintained, and enjoyable. Tip: Dont queue for tickets, just buy them online from the web site. I saw the queue of 100+ people so got my phone out, bought tickets for that exact time and walked straight in.

Beautiful aquarium, can get very popular so may be a good idea to come in the evening when it’s a little less busy.

This Aquarium has a lot more than I thought it would, although the reviews say it’s small. It still has a lot of different creatures in it. The tanks are small and a lot of the fish swim in the same routine. Me and my partner decided to not support Aquariums any further

Dont go there! Its so outrageously crowded. 200 tickets are sold every quarter of an hour. You dont see any of the animals as everything is full of people. Its a really bad experience and not enjoyable.

Spent over an hour queuing only to be told they’re sold out of tickets for the day. Long queue of families with small children left in the queue unknowing of this small fact. None of the staff bothers to inform proactively.

Expo is great but it’s really HOT inside. They need to turn on AC!!!!!

Impressive experience with kid!

Had a great visit. Kids loved it and we enjoyed the huge variety to see. Very well laid out inside. Wasn’t the cheapest and you need to go early, early as you can! We went at 0930 and by the time we left two hours later it was mobbed out and getting stuffy inside.

The aquarium is fantastic and informative, and is very enjoyable for everyone. It’s much busier in the day, so the evening/night session is probably best.

Horrendous. Over crowded. To much traffic throughout could not see anything. Just a big money spinner. Very disappointed. 😒

We as a small, young family of four had the most incredible time in la Rochelle Aquarium. I wont share all the details and photos to spoil the experience, JUST GO!Were semi-regular tourists to la Rochelle and the surrounding area and have never visited the aquarium, what a mistake. The kids are now pestering us to go back.Its so incredibly well designed, spacious and really good value for money at less than a trip to a seaside funfair to be honest. Im embarrassed by Brighton aquarium as a comparison which is more expensive and pales in comparison.If youre within an hours drive, make the effort then spend an hour walking around the beautiful harbour.

Overvalued. Small tank for big fishes. Overcrowded and no as big as they sell it. Malta aquarium is not as "famous" but thousand times better

Nice, but to many people. You cannot see anything. They let people in in timeslots, but nobody gets out in time...

Lots to see about the ocean and its inhabitants takes about 3 hours to see it all

Catastrophe! It was extremely crowded and thus not possible to enjoy the visit. Definitely not worth the entrance fee. In addition it was really noisy and no COVID protections are in place.

I love this place. Fun for the whole family. Interactive, educational, easy to follow, well constructed and thought out. The way marine life is displayed and explained is great.

Great experience , takes about 2hours to visit . Cost 18.50 euros , with audio guide 20 euros . Restaurant and shop is available.

Great place for adults and kids.A great place to spend a few hours with many different exhibits, and of course the amazing shark tank.The restaurant is the cherry on top with good food and a great view.Convenient parking lot just nearby.

The aquarium is nice. Several interesting expositions. Definitely worth to see. The only challenge was buying tickets online. It is impossible to complete transaction in English, the French version worked fine for us.

Great aquarium with a calm ambiance and lighting. Wonderful diversity of fish with very clear signs for the fish names in French and English with pictures. The best time to go is during the week off-season — we had the aquarium nearly to ourselves! Our kids love coming here.Don’t miss the panoramic restaurant on the top floor. They have a great kids’ menu as well as beautifully prepared adult dishes.

They have many different species of sea creatures. It’s ideal for kids or for a rainy day in La Rochelle

Poor aquarium been to alot better when for a drink afterwards in the cafe/restaurant service was terrible wouldnt bother going back

Tiny place, but I still was able to enjoy my visit on November 2019. I was well impressed especially with their jellyfish tanks, various, stunning and impressive. 4 stars only because with the same price or less I visited bigger Aquarium in Europe.

Poor aquarium, to many people, to crowded, to hot. Not very impressing. Seen much better in France and over the world. If you go buy tickets at local tourismpoint next to aquarium. same price but fast lane.

A very nice, large and clean aquarium. The focus is very clearly the educational aspect and they very much succeed to pass their knowledge to the visitors. The audioguides are available in different languages and are worth the small fee.A good place to spend an afternoon to marvel and be impressed by the sealife around the world.

Best aquarium that I have been to.

What an excellent aquarium. Its really well laid out with great exhibits and there is loads to look at and there is so much more in there than I thought there would be. The sharks and turtles were amazing to see and my 2 year old nephew loved it, well worth a visit especially for young kids. It wasnt too expensive either at €16 each (not sure about kids). You can pay €19 and get an audio guide but there is no need because there are signs in English and French explaining what the exhibits are.

Very beautiful aquarium. Compared to Sealife or other aquariums this a much better one when it comes to variety and style. You can easily spend half a day with family and kids here. The collection is huge and there is a auditorium for kids. Beautifully decorated and designed. Absolutely recommended

This is one of best aquariums Ive visited, much better than the Deep in Hull or any Sealife centre. The aquarium is split into different ocean habits with large tanks in each zone. I highly recommend that you go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Hideously long queues, insufficient air conditioning in hot weather, masses of people, children appearing from all crevices and coming at you in the dark, while you sweat profusely, stifled by the lack of breathable air, but still trying to ‘enjoy’ what is, essentially a pretty limited and unimpressive range of marine life, always framed by a row of heads.

100% worth it! Go during July/August for the night tour when the fish are more active. Im still amazed at how big and beautiful it is. They fully immerse you in ocean life and you can spend hours watching the sharks! Perfect for kids too with fun anecdotes and stories (in Frenchand tunnels for them to go "deep sea diving"

One of the best aquariums visited in my life so far. Very modern and contemporary building with restaurant situated on the top floor which has a wonderful view over the port. Very promising lobby, grand entry via lift, well thought layout, installations and displays, descriptions both in French and English, audio guides available as an option with several languages to choose, clean toilet facilities throughout (which is important for families with small children). Worth booking tickets online at least day before planned visit for extra discount. Had a great time. Definitely will come back with my children.

Absolutely fascistic. A huge range of fish species, all looking in good condition and in ample sized habitats. Impressive coral in many tanks. Well laid out, nicely presented rout around. Didnt take the audio tour, most tanks have sufficient written info in English. Well worth the visit.

Have been to a number of similar attractions before, but this was just amazing. Such an original take on showing the various exhibits. Loved it!

Nice place, good range of aquaria, even mangrove! Nice landscaping of tanks and pools, and nice use of fluorescence and bioluminescence. Recommended

Lots of species from different regions in the world. Definitely a lovely visit for children.

Awesome place to visit. Best to visit outside of weekend if you can. If you want to visit multiple times buy a year pass for great value.

A really good selection of fish and not too crowded

I loved the entrance to this aquarium and the initial area where it concentrated on the Atlantic Coast. Some nice extras Ive not seen before like simulated waves in some of the tanks.Its a pretty small aquarium and very expensive for a family to visit.The only food served is on the top floor restaurant which looks fantastic and has amazing views of La Rochelle. It doesnt serve food outside of lunch hours though, which seems ridiculous so all we could get was a drink. Its quite fancy too not the kind of place youd expect for an aquarium
