Do not recommend I bought 2 plate both was cold told them to make fresh brought it back burnt told me I have to pay for I didn’t eat off either play or offer to pay for one even though it was cold told me I had to pay Very unprofessional IF YOU WANT HOT FOOD DO NOT RECOMMEND IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD DO NOT EAT HERE

Very spacious and inviting ,The food was delicious and they had the best refried beans ever. Mexican Shrimp is what I ordered it was the best.

I usually keep a bad review to myself…I don’t like to complain publicly if I can simply just not return to the place. However, my experience has surpassed all limits.My husband and I arrived to the La Riviera onMay 14, 2022 for dinner. We came here because their name publicly says it “marisquería” meaning we would be eating sea food… good sea food since that is all that they specialize in.We were greeted nicely and directed to our table. We asked for a “mariscada”, once we received our dish the smell was disrespectfully nasty. The meal looked as if they had boiled water and had thrown raw shrimp into it. It had NO flavor and a severe smell.The manager came over to ask if everything was ok, we kindly explained to her our concerns and she said she would exchange it. She took the plate back into the kitchen and shortly after, our waiter came back and asked if she could change anything to make it right. She was very persistent to substitute anything in our plate but to still keep the shrimp. After she wouldn’t convince us to eat them, she then said that she would be charged for our meal since we returned it. We felt very sorry for her so we just asked for our check because we didn’t want her to have to pay for something that wasn’t her fault.All I can say about this place and it’s management is that it is poorly administered and the food has a lot of improvement to do before they can say they specialize in sea food.Unfortunately this was my experience and I was very disappointed. I hope to never encounter another place like such!! I would definitely never recommend this place!

The service was good, the food was okay and the drinks were way too expensive (they werent even good). The limonade and agua fresca i got for my kids tasted just like water with sugar.

Food was delicious. Give you a good portion and it is filling

HORRIBLE! They do not care about their customers and the manager does not care their food is nasty. We came in late, understandable, but they told us the kitchen doesn’t close for another half hour and still allowed us to dine with them. If you did not want guest dining past a certain time, do not sit them. Also, food will ring up a different price than what is on the menu. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY

Me and my husband went there on a limb. We saw many cars and thought the service and food must be good ….. well, we waited 30 minutes before a waitress would even come to our table, I waited another 15-20 minutes for one drink, we started reading reviews and decided to leave. Do yourself a favor…. If you are hungry, don’t go there, you’ll be waiting a LONG time.

Would give NO stars but not an option for that truth. HORRIBLE PLACE....waitress came after a 27 minute wait...only addressed my wife didnt even look at me when I attempted to order a drink....we waited another 20 minutes drinks...and decided not to order food as we both thought wow...how long will the food take if ordering a drink was such an ordeal?!?!? Nah...wouldnt suggest this dive....very creepy and the rabbit whole just kept going deeper and deeper.

Last night was our first and last time ordering from this restaurant.We ordered our food to go. The woman who took our order either couldnt hear us or didnt want to take our order. My husband speaks Spanish but not well, the woman made it seem like she didnt know a bit of English, which is fine if it were true. My husband was stumbling over a few words. We were left wondering if this woman had our order down correctly, so we asked her to repeat. Over all it just seemed like it was difficult to place an order over the phone. The woman who took the order apparently laughed at the fact that she could speak English, that came off as rude to us since you could clearly tell my husband had a hard time saying some things in Spanish.Now lets move onto the food. We ordered 2 Carne Asada, two pastor and two carnitas with an order of bean and cheese pupusas. All the pupusas were smashed together. It tasted okay. I honestly dont know if what I ate was beef since the meat was very light in color for Carne Asada. We didnt even bother with the other tacos. I could not tell which one was pastor or carnitas, the meat looked as if it has been sitting out all day. The meat was hard and the other taco had nothing but fat. I promise Im not exaggerating nothing but fat on one of the tacos and the meat was rock hard I thought it was a bone. I wouldnt be surprised if I get Chorros from this place. Save your time and hard earned money and dont go!!!!!!

TERRIBLE SERVICE … Waitress had an attitude barely came to check up on us or bring refills. Never got my chori queso I had asked for .. Food was cold and gross. SERVICE WAA SLOW !!!

TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!The service is very very slow. All waitresses work with their hair down. When the lean into your table their hair dangles over your food which is very unsanitary.When we arrived they didnt have the Aguas frescas that we wanted. We asked for a choriqueso and they brought out regular cheese dip. Waitress didnt come back so after 15 minutes I asked another Waitress to bring the correct item.We ordered pupusas. The outside was burned/charred but the dough was still raw on the inside (how do you do that?Under side of the pupusas were soggy as if theyd been sitting for awhile. After the pupusas came we didnt receive any of our parties other dishes for about 20 minutes. My partners food which was a choripollo was brought out so cold that the cheese dip on top had solidified. The seafood in my soup was overcooked and completely destroyed my stomach.The michelada was not great. The waitress didnt come give us refills, didnt come to check on the table. My father in law asked for a beer and didnt get it so had to ask again.Terrible terrible service. The food.. well barely edible, made me sick.And to make things worse they tried including a 15% gratitude charge. I think not. Not with service like that, if we can even call it that.DO NOT COME HERE. JUST TRYING TO KEEP YOU FROM POSSIBLY THE WORSE DINNING EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE.If I could give zero stars I would.

Horrible atmosphere was awful service was bad food it wasn’t great not for what I paid and it came with a fly I wasn’t trill first and last visit...I will never go there

This is NOT a family friendly restaurant it is more like a bar so if your a (maleand in need of having a good time this the proper place. The food is great and their micheladas are fantastic, DO not wait to be seated go on in and sit down on your own, and order everything you need at once.

Worst restaurant I have been too service was so bad from the start our waitress did not welcome us with a smile she look miserable, food took an hour to get to us, food was not good at all I ended up with a stomach ache food was over priced, you get charge for every drink, be ready to pay gratuity on your billed in which they choose 15% gratuity it’s included in your billed bathrooms are disgusting no soap no toilet paper the floors wear so dirty with water all over the floor, I hope it was water on the floor and not pee but definitely I will never come back here again

Second time I get uncooked wings never Again and the bathroom is a mess it looks like its all falling apart they dont take care of this place anymore

The food was ok. This was our second time here. The food was great the first time. They must have had a new cook on duty. Waitress didnt get our drink order right and customer service horrible, it was like we were bothering her.Last but not least the music is great but its too loud. I think thats why our order was messed up. We had to repeat ourselves several times.

I have been a regular here. Rather I ordered online or picked up my food or ate inside I have always appreciated the kind service, the music and singing, and most of all the food until now. I placed an order online and called the restaurant to ask if my food could be wrapped for sustainable reasons and safety. The lady who answered the phone did not seem to understand what I was asking and she told me she did not understand. I understood this so I politely asked to speak with someone may understand my request. She says Im sorry I dont understand and hangs up. I called back at least 6 times or more and she would pick up the phone and hang it up without saying anything. From there she stopped answering and I heard a beep. When I saw the guy had arrived to pick up my order; I called him and he stated he had been standing there and nobody greeted him or mentioned anything about my order. I heard him repeatedly say excuse me before he was even acknowledged. I asked him to speak with someone. I asked are you the one who hung up on me? She kept saying Im so sorry. I Told her I would report this to her manager. I then told the guy who was picking up my order i will report how I have been treated as well as him. He then tells me that the girl told him they could not find my order. Wow! I told him I am sorry his gas and time eas wasted and I will go to the restaurant to talk to the manager. I am very upset. I ordered there last week 2 days in a row. I have family that order as well because i bragged on the food so much. No longer will I order or eat or support this establishment. I am done. I was hung up on repeatedly and on top of that I did not get my food and now I have to wait 3-5 business days to be refunded. Yes! Im done. You know, now that I think about it. There is no reason to speak to a manager. My review speak volumes.The picture is of me and my husband on his bday. I brought him here because of the great vibes, and food. I guess those people who worked that night and every other night were off. Take a good look at our faces cause you will NEVER see them in your restaurant again!

Great first impression coming into Charlotte. Friendly staff, big tasty margaritas, giant guacamole bowl (excelente), and dont even get me started on the jalapeno bacon wrapped shrimp. Everything was fantastic and its so cozy and inviting inside. Check it out if youre in the area❤

This was our first time eating here with my family, they took for ever to get us seated we though maybe it was beacuse they were really busy but once we got in we saw it wasnt that busy. So they started with our drink they took maybe about 15-20 for our drinks and after that we order our food they took about 40-50 minutes, the food was good. When it was time to pay we walk up to the register, so at this point I fell like I didnt want to leave any tip beacuse of the customer service so I didnt. One of the waitresses saw I choose not to leave any tip and came up to me told if I didnt like the service I said no because of how long it took them and plus they didnt came to check out table. Know at this point I think the waitress ir really rude coming at me and telling about why I choose not to leave her any tip and how shes not making any money that she only makes $1.00 dollar. My whole thing is they need to have better customer services is they actually want to make money. I would of had left tip if they actually had a better customer service.

We’ve been here a few times now and it’s always great. We recently came here for my sister’s birthday and the staff was so kind. The manager checked on us and they brought out a cake and a shot for the birthday girl! The food is great and they have a varied selection. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

I ordered Ensalada de pollo.. Wasnt the best presentation but did the job.. Two different workers checked on me often, which was good.. Next time i will order something alittle more expensive.. They have a nice looking lady staff and that was the main highlight.. $12 for a salad is a bit steep though... Oh and there was no square peices of cheese on my salad plate..

Our 1st ever eating here. We ordered 3 things! My husband received his plate. 5 mins late my son received his cheeseburger, 5 mins after my son received his I finally received my nachos. Which was chips, cheese and some kinda meat claiming to be beef. My cup sat empty on the table until I left. My son and I went to the car where it proceeded to take an addition 30 mins to receive the check. There was maybe 3 additional tables during our visit. The food was below average and the service was beyond lacking

All of my food was great. I have pina de rellena and a taco. The portion was large so I have lunch for tomorrow. This may be my new spot.

I’ve ordered from here through door dash twice now. I am impressed! The orders are always hot, timely, and nothing is ever missing. The food is delicious; the tacos are juicy unlike other places that have dry or chewy, fatty meat. I’ve tried several entrees and appetizers and they’ve all been wonderful! Many different kinds of salsa and chips aren’t super salty. I hope to make it in person sometime soon. Overall, I am pleased and will be returning many more occasions.

HIGH PRICES! $18.98 for a cantarito drink that we pay $9.99 everywhere else. They also charged us 4% on our total for using our debit card. This place is a rip off. They also have young kids sitting and drinking alcohol at the bar. Not even 21. I think this place needs to be investigatedI would NEVER recommend this place.You just lost these customers forever. How does that work out for your business? I cant believe you over charge and pass fees onto your customers just because they want to pay you for their meal by using their debit card. We are from Maryland on our way to Georgia for the Thanksgiving holiday and we stopped at La Riviera for our dinner. The food was excellent and the guacamole was great. We were told the owner cooked our meal he did an excellent job. They were very attentive and asked a few times if everything was okay. Service was good we give this restaurant a 5-star rating

Food was ok not to Atlantic and plates are over priced for what you get

Missing home (CaliforniaI was ecstatic when I came across this place. It didnt let me down. It was Delicious. I had the camarones en agua Chile. My daughter had the cóctel de camarones and shel loved it. Its pricey but for the taste of home I had missed totally worth it.

The waitress didnt speak English but she had a helper they both were nice the food was pretty good they give you more than enough you can eat off of it two and three times. My alcoholic beverage was right on point!

The WORST food Ive ever had in Charlotte. My steak was burnt and Shrimp were nasty. The portions were nice. I just really hated my meal. My boyfriend additionally hated the food as well. We will not return.

Terrible experience , first time as a customer, some how we accidently received the wrong tab, without realizing that it wasn’t our tab , my husband signed it, as we were walking out our waistress mentioned to me that we had not paid our tab, I came back inside and told her that we had, and we left the tab on the table and showed her where it was signed. We didn’t know it wasn’t our tab, and the manager took it upon himself being disrespectful and started accusing me and my husband that we intentionally signed our wrong tab, because we didn’t want to pay our tab. And kept being sarcastic asking if we had not seen what time was printed on the tab! Completely unacceptable and rude. Will never be coming back here again. OVERPRICED food, wouldn’t have mind paying that if the food was good but it wasn’t. and the manager was no good, we had so many problems and he didn’t fix not even one of them, and started going off on me and sister when he could’ve talked to my mom about it.

Literally so disgusting. The manager is incredibly rude and customer service is terrible. We found hair in the food, Black,short and course, my sister and I have long colored hair, and his excuse was that “he only has men in the kitchen.” Making it better was that my steak was rarer than rare, the cow was basically still twitching. The rest of the food was still pretty bland.

Terrible service, all the workers stand around talking to each other, simple 10 mins foods took an hours an the place wasn’t even busy. Looks like the employees are drinking themselves

I have been here twice. The first time i was solo. I enjoyed everything. The music, the singing and the how welcoming the staff was and the food was like nothing I had ever experienced. I loved it! Bragged about it all night to hubby.The second time was this past Fathers Day. I took my hubby and he loved it. We both agreed we will be back. Now there was a wait but all worth it when you see how fresh the food is and when you take your first bite you get hooked instantly. Cant wait to go back!

Very nice place. Very clean and good customer service! At first when I saw the menu thought the price was a little too high, however by looking at the other guests plates while waiting I noticed that their laltes seemed big and good. When I got my plate I said it is worth it. I know when the price its fair, the sea food is fresh, tastes fresh and big plates. If you want to know the price well is is a expensive but the plates are big and the meat tastes great. It is more than worth it to eat there for the price. I totally recommend this restaurant you will espend more money if you taking kids or family members the total will be some good money but it will be worth!

My first time here and I really enjoyed myself. Nice atmosphere, good music, attentive service, food was decent. Not the best food but by far not the worst. I didnt order seafood tho and that seems to be the house special. Prices were average and whoever said the include the top in the check was wrong. Anyway , my husband and I will be back and will recommend to friends

First and last time I visit this place. The service was good but the food not all that good plus my son found a hair in his fries.

Overpriced. Non alcoholic beverages taste awful. Food was too salty and not great for price. Service was very slow even when there were very few customers are dining. We had to go to the front just to pay.

We came here as a large family. My husband has eaten here many times and wanted us to enjoy the wonderful food. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere lively.

Beautiful restaurant. Dont buy anything from the lunch special menu it taste like food from the day before. The margaritas are 8.50 tegular price.

I was nervous and afraid that I wouldnt be able to order at first because the entire menu is in Spanish however 2 servers later I was able to place my Togo order and I absolutely loved everything! Great service!
