La Pitahaya Vegana in Emiliano Zapata
Description
Privilege
One of my absolute favorites when I’m visiting Mexico City! The mole is to die for literally and everything is fresh and made with mucho amor 🖤 I can’t wait to come back and have this experience again with some of the most delicious vegan food ever made. 11/10
MoreAmazing breakfast! Excellent service. One of the top vegan restaurants we’ve visited.
MoreI experienced great service, all of the food I ordered was delicious, and the location was perfect. Definitely a recommendation and I will be returning next time I visit Mexico City.
MoreExcellent spot to enjoy tasty vegan Mexican dishes in a hip neighborhood in Mexico City. It’s great even for non-vegans because the food is so good, no one will miss the meat. We were excited that there were so many options. Their menu comes in English if you need it. It was a somewhat chilly day, so We got the hot chocolate and a warm orange corn drink called Atole de Mandarina. They were both incredible. The Atole we have since tried to replicate at home several times but we are unable to get it to taste as good as we had it there. We also ate the trio of tacos called taco Baja. Delicious. The Enfeijoladas were also so good with that wonderful bean sauce. This place is a must-go while in Mexico City.
MoreCant recommend this place enough! Out of all the vegan tacos I had in CDMX, these were definitely the most inventive, and probably the most delicious. And the chilaquiles were incredible ❤️ I dont usually take pictures of my food, but the presentation was so beautiful I had to. Plus the staff was always so friendly and helpful! I went three times in 5 days 😅😅
MoreSuch amazing food! And the staff is very nice and attentive too, I recommend you try it if you like vegan food, this is the place to go!😍
MoreAlthough I am not a vegetarian, I had the best version of Chilequilas (with chorizo chickpeasthat I have ever had in Mexico! The staff are very friendly and seem to be having a really fun time working there. The organic coffee and the cocoa drinks were also spectacular, the former with an edible spoon!
MoreNutritious, creative and fun: perfect size plates with ample options of beverages. We got the mole and the three tacos and also de spinach soup. This is a must to go if you are nearby condesa or Roma
MoreThe best restaurant I went in Mexico. Very good. I highly recommend. Their breakfast comes with a bowl of fruits, a burrito and juice. The best burrito in town.
MoreThis place was so cute! And once you see the tortillas, you’ll realize where the restaurant gets its name. The servers were very friendly and answered our questions and the food was fun and tasty. We particularly enjoyed the potato taco (I think it was curriedand the half portion of the nachos! One of the best cheez sauces I’ve ever had!
MoreAbsolutely delicious. Enfrijoladas, trio tacos, burrito...all excellent choices..the service was superb. You can order any combination of 3 tacos!!!
MoreThe food here is unbelievable! There’s a reason why there are so many great reviews. The cauliflower tacos with coconut cheese were the best tacos I’ve ever had. The flavors and textures were incredible. I wish they had a restaurant where I lived so I could eat there everyday. Even non-vegans would love this food, but for us vegans it’s a REAL treat. I’m also gluten free and there were plenty of options to choose from. SO GOOD.
MoreEverything was had was incredible! The mole was balanced with a nice acidity, the tacos were phenomenal, pink chai was delightful. A vegan gem, I dont think there is a bad choice on the entire menu. The staff was super friendly and great atmosphere with comfy chairs and chill music. Nice to see and smell the open kitchen! Will definitely be back
MoreWent there evening on thrush and it was not crowded. Ordered tepache and milk with cinnamon and turmeric along with the mole entry and three tacos (pastor, Jamaica and crudis). I also ordered a mushroom soup. Mushroom soup was pretty tasteless but the sauce and oil on table helped it bring from meh to ok. The Tepache was pretty decent but the milk and turmeric was pretty lukewarm and turned cold pretty quickly.Mole entry arrived on time and again failed the taste test and went fromMeh to ok only because of the salsa verde on the table. The taco order was lost for a long time ( we only had 5 tables active so really not a busy day). Multiple reminders later it showed up. Decent but the problem is I went the same morning to Por siempre and the tacos there were not only outstanding but considerably cheap. I think the instagram foodie posters have unnecessarily hyped this place up. As of now Por siempre knocks this place off by miles in a true taste bake-off as well as value for money.
MoreDelicious and great service. I especially loved my hibiscus taco!
Good spot for vegan lovers! They have aesthetic pink tacos that you can take a photo! My favorite was the mushroom taco
MoreSweet servers and delicious food! I was looking for a veggie friendly version of Chile en Nogada, and decided to check this place out. The server was very sweet, and even offered a little treat for our dog who was with us. The food was very flavorful, and the presentation was lovely. A great vegan experience in CDMX!
MoreTerrific, savory & beautiful meals served in a relaxed and friendly environment. This is a place where you can confirm the veggie food is just the right directions!
MoreMy bf and I had the most amazing food and experience here! The service was so friendly and welcoming and the food was some of the best vegan food I’ve had. We got the mole and Baja tacos. Soooo delicious can’t recommend enough!
MoreOne of my top favorite vegan spots to visit when I’m in CDMX. The food is exciting playful and DELICIOUS. The ambience is chic inviting and magical. The presentation of the food is SUPERB truly a work of art. The love is felt in all of their creations. If you are looking for a vegan spot in CDMX or simply some exciting Mexican food with a twist look nor further. 10/10 recommend. You won’t be disappointed.
MoreTraveling CDMX solo and I was drawn to this restaurant by the pictures, admittedly. But beyond that, the rave reviews say enough! I really enjoyed everything I ordered, which included 3 taquitos rosas (pink tortilla tacos), the breakfast combo of chilaquiles with chickpea chorizo, and sesame ice cream to finish. The breakfast combo was an amazing deal for $280 pesos, and included a choice of jugo de naranja or jugo verde, fresh fruit with housemade coconut cream (BOMB), and a choice of cafe de olla or tea. I’m just going to reemphasize one more time how amazing the fruit with coconut cream was, easily one of the best things I’ve had here in CDMX. Service was attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely recommend this spot to CDMX travelers and locals alike!
MoreBaja tacos are great. Other tacos pretty good. Little pricey. Ice cream delicious
MoreVery unique tacos for sure! Their presentation definitely catches your attention. Ordered the 3 combination tacos and they tasted fabulous. Great service!
MoreGreat vegan food. Colors I have never seen before and so delicious. I have suddenly fallen in love with this city
MoreBeen here twice and it never disappoints. Great service, wonderful meals, and all vegan too! Their house made kombucha is bomb.
MoreA perfect and bright lunch spot for vegetarians! The mole dish was memorable and the ingredients were all super fresh.
MoreI made a reservation through their website a couple weeks in advance - I’d recommend making just in case. My group of 10 went for Saturday brunch and it was amazing! All of the food was great - tasty, creative and beautiful. Definitely a fun spot even if you are not vegan!
MoreI am OBSESSED! This place is so cute and the food was amazing! Best vegan place I visited in CDMX! I ordered the Baja cauliflower tacos and they were wonderful. It was a favorite and I will be back!
MoreGreat vegan breakfast, all included with entree, coffee, juice, fruit with vegan yogurt. And the cafe de olla comes in a cute little pot with a biodegradable spoon that looks edible.
MoreOne of the best vegan spots in town, especially for breakfast and brunch.I’m happy the quality of the food has been consistent over time as compared to other places. Service has always been excellent, as has the food of course!Chilaquiles are probably my favorite.Fun fact: I have never actually tried the pink tortillas that La Pitahaya is famous for, but I’m sure they’re just as tasty as everything else!
MoreMy boyfriend and I first learned about this place through a CDMX video on a vegan YouTube channel, and I bookmarked it for a future trip. The food and service did not disappoint! We loved the playful look of the pink tortillas as well as the delicious taste of each dish. The server accidentally brought us a dish we had not ordered, and he would not let us pay for it… even though we devoured the surprise dish and insisted we would pay. Super friendly and gracious service! I definitely recommend this spot.
MoreBaja Tacos are my one true culinary love, I cannot recommend them enough, they’re crunchy and soft and buttery and tart. They are perfect
MoreA solid healthier, fresh vegan take on Mexican dishes that are a refreshing change from what you can find at other restaurants! We had the burrito breakfast that included orange juice, coffee, and the really tasty burrito that was full of veggies and tofu scramble. If you’re looking for a lighter meal to offset all the treats and eating during your vacation, this is perfect! The restaurant and outdoor seating is surrounded with plants and shade, very clean and nice place to chill for breakfast and lunch.
MoreThis is such a welcoming restaurant with an amazing menu. Their social media presence is unmatched with involvement and it’s so sweet. The food was delicious, I hope I get another chance to visit while I’m here!
Moregreat vegan food. lovely service and well worth it for the price. loved their homemade hot sauce (that you can purchase for your home!)
MoreFirst of all the server did their best. She offered alternatives and really was sweet and kind. The food just was horrible. Not her fault. Extremely over priced menu. The lemonade was 70 pesos and wasn’t good. At that price it should be the best lemonade I’ve ever had. The food she brought us was 280 pesos. At that price it has to be amazing. It was horrible smelling. Too many combinations of flavors and smells. Overly complex when it didn’t need to be. Not a large amount of food. Combining mole , with plantains with rice with coconut is a tough sell. Not traditional but we gave it a chance. It was inedible. The smell was so strong from the food we felt nauseous . Could not finish it. She offered an alternative free Al pastor taco that was decent but not amazing. But she did not make the meal that was terrible free even tho we ate about three bites of it. Would not return. Would not recommend. This place focuses too much on plating and esthetics and complexity. They should focus more on delivering a solid meal. You can not justify charging 280 pesos for an inedible meal, no matter how beautiful it is. Other items on the menu indicate this philosophy of esthetics over content is present. They offer a burger with pink buns. Stop. This is a bad idea.
MoreWe got here at 10 and they didnt close til 10:30, but they wouldnt seat us. Take out only. I was a little bummed, but the food was so good that I dont really want to take a star off for it. If I could do 4.5 I would 😂 Ended up plating the food at home. The tacos were very unique and all the flavors came together to make some pretty memorable vegan food. As a non vegan, when I come across some bomb vegan food, I really appreciate it.
MoreFun concept, beautiful tortillas, absolutely delicious food. Great and friendly service. My non-vegan husband enjoyed as much as I did. What more could you need?!
MoreAmazing vegan food. So tasty, and very well executed. Incredible salsa for sale.Loved the tacos and mole.
MoreExcellent vegan restaurant and food is super delicious. I had been to this restaurant twice and it was great both the times. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the service was quick to my standards as I prefer to take my time and enjoy the delicious plant based food they serve at this restaurant.
MoreAmazing Mexican restaurant with delicious vegan food, cute decor and excellent service. All of the tacos were delicious (my favorite was the pastor de setas), as were the nachos and the tamale. The hot chocolate was also heavenly and had a beautiful design. Would definitely go back!
MoreThis was the first place I ate when I landed in CDMX and I Loved it so much I went back twice within my short stay in this city! The tacos are deliciously pink, the waffles divine, and the breakfast burrito combo a steal! Not only that, but I was told that almost everything is made from scratch in-house. Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike 👌🏼
MoreMy favorite vegan restaurant in CDMX. Delicious food ! Their cauliflower tacos are the yummiest thing I’ve had during my Mexican trip ( and I’ve visited a few cities :). Very friendly and attentive service . Highly recommend!
MoreThis is the best vegan restaurant I have ever been to! I’m not even done with the meal and wanted to write this review. I’m just completely blown away by the food and service here. Extremely flavorful and creative food! Highlights for me were the enfrijoladas with vegan chorizo added and the cauliflower taco! This place is amazing!
MoreThe Nachos are in my top 5 vegan nachos I have tried! I would go back for the nachos all over again! They use a really creamy cheese, with pico de Gallo and soy chorizo that adds even more depth to the nachos. I highly recommend the pink chai latte for Chai lovers. The drink used actual cardamom and herbs, which is very similar to the actual beverage that is originally from the country of India! It even had pieces of herbs in it. As for the tacos I recommend to try a variety 3 special, so you can gauge which one you like. I personally liked the Machaca and Crudi. I tried the Jamaica pibil and was not a fan of it. It was plain, but my partner liked it. As for dessert, I recommend the brownie and ice cream. The ice cream was very creamy and the right amount of sweet! The brownie was thick and fudgy, just how I love it. In the end, I recommend this place for vegan food lovers!
MoreThis was my favorite place when I first came to Mexico City, so I knew I had to take my family here when we come to visit CDMX together. We absolutely loved the food, and it was just as good as I remembered. We ordered 12 tacos, the guacamole and chips, and also tried their Jamaica (Hibiscuswater, and Kombucha. This is really some of the best tacos I have ever tried. I would not say they are like traditional tacos at all, but they are so light and refreshing yet filling. The chips for the guacamole are also baked not fried, so it is a relatively healthy meal. We LOVED all the food, but what makes this experience are the people who work here. So incredibly kind and welcoming, full of smiles, and patience. Its one of our favorite meals, and more then made up for the stress of getting from the airport into the city. Its also in a beautiful neighborhood, so its the perfect place to take a walk after the meal.
MoreWe had our first meal in Mexico City here. I had already heard and read a lot about this restaurant and came here with super high expectations and this place met all my expectations and then some more. My partner and I ordered a ginger hibiscus drink, kombucha . Nachos with chickpea chorizo and three tacos. The drinks were refreshing and everything tasted and looked delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive and the service was quick. Highly recommend both vegans and non-vegans to check this place out.
MoreAmazing vegan food! Presentation is a plus! Great place to hang out with friends, and for dessert try the mini lemon pie!
MoreLovely vegan restaurant in Roma Norte. Healthy food and friendly staff. Tried the nachos, tacos and enfrijoladas. Their nachos were super, everything else was very tasty. Highly recommended
MoreIts the best way to be introduced to a new version of mexican cuisine. The place is all pink and cute, the service 100% attentive and welcoming. Buttt, the food! Oh the food was delicious and Im sure Ill be back to taste some other special dishes. Ive tried tacos and a dessert, but Ive seen some main plates that looked also tasty! I recommend as well walking around the area, its colorful and good vibe
