La Perdiz - Restaurant in Montevideo, Uruguay
La Perdiz in Montevideo
Description
Privilege
We have not eaten here, so we can not say anything about this. However, we felt very badly treated here. We were first "put off" to wait for a table and no longer noticed. When I wanted to ask a waitress if somebody will come to us or if we should better get the drinks at the counter ourselves, she cut me off and said "no me molestes" (dont bother me). That was the moment we decided its better to go.We went to eat in different restaurants in montevideo and were treated very nice and respectful everywhere. In general, the people from montevideo are very polite and friendly. Unfortunately, this is not reflected in this restaurant.
MoreAlways a nice place with very good dishes. It is a very visited restaurant-bar.
Great restaurant, especially barbecue dishes. Highly recommended: "asado de tira" "vacío" "molleja" "riñón (kidney)". Of course, the more expensive meat cuts are also great. Expensive restaurant. Need to book, always crowded.
MoreOne of the best places to eat in Montevideo
Good service, great food and drinks. Will definitely come back.
Very good place to eat the world famous steak. Tried lot of stuff and fully satisfied with the taste of food and desserts. Very good atmosphere inside and out.
MoreBloody marvelous place to eat ! I highly recommend la perdiz for pasta home made lovers as well as the best meat you can possibly get in Montevideo , so far one of the bests, the attention is great and cordial with very friendly staff , I would not have doubts in recommend and come back , little expensive tho but worth it
MoreGreat steaks! The atmosphere is upscale and the clientele skew older. If you want to go on a Friday or Saturday make a reservation as it gets crowded.
MorePlease be careful what you get after ordering, it could be a surprise
Spent around 10 days on a business trip in Montevideo and half of the days the choice for dinner was La Perdiz. Amazing food and nice owners as well as staff. You should try the Asado as well as the flan for dessert!
MoreGreat service with taste. Meat is also good
Excellent food and service - be sure to make a reservation because after 8pm it really fills up fast!
MoreDear tourists visiting Montevideo: Avoid this place at all costs. You’ll have plenty of better options just around the corner. Take care of yourself and don’t make any queue. You know you don’t have to wait for anyone or anything there. Last but not least, avoid the booking reserve system either online or telephone: the attention is awful and the responses incredibly unprofessional. To the owner of La Perdiz: I know you don’t care about your public or your brand, at least, respect the legacy.
MoreI visit this restaurant at my first day in Montevideo. Gave me good mood
With all the wonderful restaurants in Montevideo and the high number of 5 star reviews on Google I was shocked at the mediocrity of the lunch here. It was just basic food that didn’t taste bad but was certainly nothing special at all. There are far better places in the area.
MoreAbsolutely amazing! The best steak we found during our tour of a few of South American cities. RUN here and ENJOY a wonderful with great service. We finished a bottle of wine and got another to go because of awesome promotion they were running during Christmas. I was sad to come to Buenos Aires after and couldnt find the same quality tasty meat there.
MoreNice atmosphere after 9pm...tables outside are nice. Parilla very good and ok wine choice. Service could be slightly better. On the price side but close enough to the Rambla to go for a after dinner stroll.
MoreService and the ribeye steak are excellent! Our waiter Martín was especially great.
MoreThe food was amazing, the staff treated us like we were family and the wine selection was great. We sat in front of the Parilla and the cook and our server Rolando were very friendly and helpful. The portions are pretty big so no problem on sharing!
MoreTry the bife ancho (bloody), preferably with a salad as a side. Service was great and very attentive (in Spanish; cannot judge in English). When paying with a foreign card, you get a discount of around 18% of the price posted in the menu.
MorePopped in for drinks only. Looks like a nice upscale place with plenty of people and a wait (if we wanted food).
MoreExcellent service.Good atmosphere.I had an issue with something in the menu, and the waitress was very kind and solve it to.Buena atmósfera y excelente atención al cliente. Muy buen vino.
MoreWhat a great local place for grilled meats and wines! Staff is so helpful and friendly.Big menu featuring beef, lamb, sausages that come with sides like salads, potatoes, vegetables.Best cut of beef is the ribeye. Big enough for two.Don’t miss the house dessert of dolce de Leche mousse with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and nuts.Good selection of tannat the Uruguayan red grape.
MoreExcellent restaurant to try the traditional “parrilla” or other tasty local dishes. Food is great and service is kind and helpful. You will need to book in advance because it is usually full with tourists and local patrons due to being very close to hotels and the commercial area of “Pocitos”. Still try it as you will not regret it!
MoreExcellent food, atmosphere. Great prices and the sweet potato with roquefort cheese was incredible! 😋😛🤤
MoreExcellent food at pretty decent prices. Good wine list. Waitstaff was alright but seemed distracted. Area is hard to park in if you are driving so opt for the shopping mall parking structure across the street.
MoreI went with my family on Wednesday around 21:30 and the place was crowded, which seemed reasonable as the food looked good. Since there was no space to wait to sit we went to another place with intention of returning the day after. On Friday 05/june/19 we passed in the restaurant at 18:00 to try to make a reservation and, however the reason for not taking reservationa anymore was ok, the cashier was extremely rude and unpatient. The only place in Montevideo where we were hosted in an unpleasent way. I do not recommend!
MoreOne of the best places to eat outside in Punta Carretas, Montevideo. The staff attention was excellent, super friendly, and when they recommended dishes and beverages they nailed it. Whether you choose to sit in a table or in the bar the level of service is outstanding. Though I recommend to sit in the bar to close to everything and if you enjoy a good conversation with the wait staff this is definitely the place to sit.Keep up with the good work!
MoreThis was one of the best places I have been to!! The food was excellent, among the bet meat dishes I have had!!! Fully recommended
MoreEveryone told me about this restaurant so we took our son and family on a Friday. Although service was impecable, we had to return the picaña as it was not tender. I had better experiences on nearby parrilladas. I might give it one more chance.
MoreThis is a very nice restaurant near the Montevideo shopping mall in Pocitos, a residential area of Montevideo that has attracted numerous boutiques and restaurants. The menu has a good selection and the service is excellent. It also offers a good selection of wines and refreshments.Parking in Pocitos is Generally difficult, however being next to the shopping center there is ample parking in the parking garage.
MoreI’ve been traveling trough South America and definitely this is the best steak I had . Great service nice wine and good dining. bad internet
MoreBest meat I had in all of Uruguay. The bife ancho was a flavor rollercoaster, surprising me at every bite. Also had the opportunity to try the mollejas (sweetbread), vacío (flank steakand filet mignon, which were all sublime. Keep in mind Uruguayans don’t salt their meat before it gets to the plate. Not the cheapest place, but good value for money - especially when compared to other restaurants in MVD and Punta.
MoreAmazing. The grilled provolone was so good. The Merluza negra was delicious! Would definitely come back - a must when in Montevideo.
MoreBest place to eat meat in Montevideo. Strongly recommend.
Best meat in Montevideo, amazing service from everyone as well
Without a doubt, one of the best steak houses in Montevideo (and Uruguay). It is always full so you better reserve in advance. Beef options are superb, chorizos and provolones are a must. They have several wine options and prices are reaonable for the quality. Do not forget to ask for the complimentary limoncello at the end of your meal!
MoreBest meat I ever had in my life... I have been to Argentina many times (bife de Chorizo), I have been to countless Churrascaria in Sao Paulo, been to Texas, Western Canada and no matter where, La Perdiz serves amazing Uruguayan meat... best I had anywhere in the world, bar none, not even close.
MoreVery good typical uruguayan stakes. It may be a little noisy if you would like to have a business conversation over lunch/dinner...
MoreFood was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Delicious wine and beer.
Came in for a late lunch, got a house craft beer, the berluza negra with baked potato and a blank turttle. The beer was a nice surprise, pretty hoppy. The fish quality and preparation were very good, sides kept simple and well prepared. Just as i like it. Dessert was good. Other pleasant surprise, wait was not long at all, as opposed to what other comments suggest (note i came in alone).
MoreOverrated overall but much loved and good quality food, professional service. The location is a favorite with locals and an upscale menu which mirrors many others.
MoreFood was good, even if it took a while to arrive and everyone was very well served - the plates were huge! The prices were not that great but the ambience and service was awesome.
MoreHuge waiting time, meat was served not as asked, had to wait almost an hour (and ask at the bar, twicefor our bill and pay it. The waiter was having fun with friends instead of serving, the waitress aided us but by then it was already a ruined experience. We planned to eat dinner and have a wine, but gave up on getting any drink after so much wasted time (the place wasnt even full by then)
MoreWow what an experience here in Uraguay . Open grill with the vibrant flow of various meats cooked right before us. Decent local wine selection. Must visit, but get there early to avoid the wait.
MoreThe quality of the meat it is not very good for the price. I use to go to restaurants in Argentina and I can say for the same price you can get a much better quality... Maybe for other kind of meal is a good place...but for meat ... dont go there ... Try to find a better place ...
MoreGreat parrilla, I had the picana steak, I also tried the filet lomo which was so succulent. The pancakes for desert were great if you love dolce de leche. They have and English menu and English speakers if you need it.
MoreGreat place, very good service & steaks! The wine 🍷 list is good! Go for the cabernet, you will LOVE it! They open at 7:30pm be there or make a reservation or no dinner...
MoreExcellent food! Highly recommended!!! You need to call and make a reservation or show up early when they open.
MoreWe had dinner there and loved it. The grilled provolone cheese with tomato and basil was delicious and the beef was excellent. Great choices of wine. The place is quite full, so either make a reservation, or get there early so that you can get a table.
