La Otra - Parrilla - Restaurant in Montevideo, Uruguay
Great bbq spot. We had a mix of grilled meats and veggies. Friendly staff and they have menus in English.Update: Went again and they were equally as awesome. Cant wait to go again.
Just an excellent experience!I sat at the bar was watches them work their magic. The chinchulines were high quality, with a great bite and flavor. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and nicely lean.
I came here 3 years ago the last time that I came to Uruguay and it will be one of the first restaurants that I go to when I return.
Food greatvsteak was soft.Priced good. We had a salad with shrimp. Filet Mignon sweet potatoes caramelized. 4 caipirinha. Very good or made is drunk. Then expresso with cooked pears abs ice creamAll for $114 US
If youre looking for an authentic, no frills, good service, solid parrilla options and some seriously buttery boniato (sweet potato), then this is where I would go. Ive been here about 4 times with friends and for work dinners. Definitely great parrilla options and while the bread is simple, it is so darn good. Ill keep coming back.
Walked in without a booking. They offered me a seat at the bar right in front of the grill. Awesome to see the asador tend to the meat and fire. The food was delicious, the service quick and with a smile and the beer was ice cold.
Loved this place. Treated incredibly well and had one of the best steaks of my life. It seemed like it might be a neighborhood spot since there seemed to be a number of locals eating as well
Good food and attention!
Same o same o and definitely not cheap.Standard fare parrilla with no special flair and average quality.Service from the main waiter was helpful and personable but the other servers seem to have no idea.
The meat was good but this restaurant is not part of my top ones in the town.It took them almost 3 hours between taking our order (for 2 peopleand carry the food to our tables.I wouldnt recommend that place since I dont like the service.
Among lots of Parrillas all over Montevideo, this one was the best I went
Excellent Parrilla close to several hotels, amazing fresh lemonade, great steak and even vegan options
Two weeks in Argentina and Uruguay and this was the best steak I had the whole trip. Great pieces of meat perfectly cooked and the smoke flavor was incredible. Definitely go here!
Great dinner here. Great steak, low-key ambiance and service, good prices. Best dinner we had in MVD.
Delicious! Get the skirt steak jugoso. Yummy.
Best place for meat a la parrilla. After eating at many different restaurants we decided to try this one and it was the best choice. We tried all the different meats and they were all delicious. Sergio is one of the owners and is a great guy!
This is a very nice parrilla. High quality meats and other components means excellent results. It was very good. Price was reasonable, ambiance was stylish. Not easy to find but worth the effort. Come hungry.
Reasonable meals, expensive, and lack of professionalism to take care of this pigsty place, what makes it a "save yourself who can" place. Lucky them there is no good "parrilla" restaurant around so far.
Optimum place. Well serving people . Very nice typical Parrilla Restaurant at affordable prices although its high quality food.
Great ambiance and dining! The ‘quest provologne de la casa’ is a great appetizer accompanied with local beer or wine. Service was outstanding and best to arrive mid afternoon 3PM.
Very nice parrilla spot with delicious steaks. Dont ask for entrecot because they dont have and dont like when you ask. Service a little bit slow but tolerable. Not particularly cheap but certainly worth its price. I would see definitely recommend it.
Underwhelmingly good, i.e. good taste but too small a portion
Delicious steaks and sausages, cooked to perfection. Great service
Very good grilled chicken and sausage. Wine was good as well as mashed potatoes and grilled squash. I would like to come back and try some other dishes as well.
Lovely place. Good food and service. Recommend. If you are there for dinner get a table outside if able. Quiet neighbourhood. Very nice on a warm summer night.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. No matter how good the food, no need to put up with extreme rudeness of a waiter. Too many alternatives in Montevideo
Go here! GREAT food! Awesome service! A relaxed night out with the best meal!
A bit too touristy for my taste. Prices were high for portion sizes on the meat. Wine was too expensive for the quality. Service was good.
4 days in Montevideo and 2 nights at La Otra wasn’t enough! Relaxed friendly atmosphere, phenomenal food, great value. Morcilla, chorizo, y entraña.
The meat was great, but the personal was terrible. One of the waiters was unpolite and the other one lied to us (I asked what Chinchulin was, and he said a cut around the neck of the cow, when we in another restaurant later learned it was actually the beef small intestin).
Great bbq
Its all about the meat! Bread and sweet potato where delicious too.
So good! Everything cooked well and rated fresh. The best Parilla in Montevideo
Very nice place to eat. It is a bit expensive but it is worth it. I strongly recommend "brochet de lomo".
We ate Entraña. It was delicious. If you want to eat the best meet in Montevideo, go to La Otra... you will not be disappointed
Good food and excellent place for a diner with friends. Little expensive though.
Great steak house. Some English is understood, staff went above and beyond to help us order
If you want to try meat, this is the place to go. Service is good and meat is perfect. You have to reserve because is almost always crowded. Prices are very good.
A standard parrilla. The food was done to a benchmark level and nothing more. The service was slow despite it not being busy when we wentWiFi: No
Generally a very chaotic place -- made worse by the untrained and very confused wait staff. The meat, and ONLY the meat is very good (if they get your order right), but the service is completely unprofessional and unpredictable.
Good food. Good service. Not excellent, not bad. A bit too expensive for the given experience. But good enough for every once in a while.
The bife ancho was delicious and so was the ensalada completa.Good attentive service and large portion done to your liking.
The food is good.. but they too crowded and under staff to be giving a good service..
The full bar that over looks the open fire grill is the best seat in the house imo. Straight forward cocktails/wine and incredible parilla. Able to pay with VISA and seats were open around 10:30pm without reservation but this was during their winter. Located in a walking friendly neighborhood as well.
Slow service, took 20 mins just to get our order. Great meat quality. Slightly expensive.
The food and service are excellent. Just go for anything in the menu, you wont get disappointed.
Came for dinner. Nothing great but not bad at the same time. You can get other steaks for the same price with much better flavor here in Montevideo.
First day out of hospitalwe came here to celebrate.Fantastic parilla and great athmosphere.Restaurant full with locals.
The food looked great but the service was horrible. They just let us wait and nobody appears to be in charge.
The entraña is outstanding! Very tender, almost melts in your mouth. Nice atmosphere. One of the best parillas in town.
