La Mei Zi in Brookhaven

My service was 5 star, placed a to go order so cant say what the table service was like, however the service from the cashier order section was great. They paid attention to my order, and it was perfect. Had the water braised spicey, Sichuan beef, and it was delicious. A nice mix of flavors, not really a tonne of heat unless you bite into the chillies, but all the other aromatic spices came together really well, complimented with a mix of bak chocolate and bean sprouts, had it with some white rice as well as some pasta with minced pork. Dang, my mouth is still watering the pasta with minced pork was heavenly all the tiny minced pieces of sweet pork over noodle sized, pasta hmmm delicious. Price was fair, paid about $20 for my meal, but it was totally worth it. I cant wait to go back.

the food is delicious. the stewed tofu with crab meat and roe was great. some of the staff are really friendly and others not so much. i don’t personally care. my booth seat was kind of falling through, but it didn’t stop me from loving the meal. recommend!

Not bad but not Chinese~ nice choice for Asian American or Native American to try~ but for those seeking real Chinese, try others~ fried then sauce, and no Bone, this is full American style~ three cup chicken tasted like general tao’s edition chicken, real Taiwan three cup chicken is not like this~ I barely give low star to restaurants but this time, sorry, taste bad

Been here multiple times and the food is wonderful! The serving sizes are plentiful and the service is quick.One the best parts is that they package your meals afterwards if you do not finish.

Ordered pick up over the phone. The lady was very nice and verified that my order was correct. Once we got there our food was hot and ready! Usually the numbing and spicy options are very spicy but this time it was not as spicy as it usually was. But it all still tasted very good. The fish was a bit on the salty side but went well with the rice. My bf really enjoyed the sesame chicken. Each entree came with a container of white rice.

Food was up-to-par and service was excellent. The spicy chicken sichuan style was delicious and the portions were generous. Servers were very kind. Will be back!

big servings lol we didnt finished our food. we had shrimp omelet was ok sauce was very sweet. and then pork belly with scallions were savory. pork buns is def yummylicious!!

My wife and I visited La Mei Zi in Doraville for the first time for dinner. Our mutual friend told us about this place and we were super excited to try their food. The restaurant wasn’t busy since it was Monday afternoon. We ordered Three Cup Chicken and Taiwanese Salt & Pepper Chicken with Basil.Both were seasoned to perfection and very much enjoyed our dinner there. The customer service was very good too - refilled timely, to-go box, and check. We will be back soon to try some other dishes.

The food is amazing!!!! On the top of that, the customer service is spectacular!! You dont wanna miss trying this place! Love love love it!

Folks, Im not exaggerating when I say I believe this is the best food Ive ever had.The sesame chicken is a classic, hard to not enjoy. The three cup chicken was delicious and had an astounding texture. The Sichuan chicken was very good as well. It was rated 2 peppers out of 5 on the menu but I think it is fine. (A lot of times it is hard to judge how spicy something is. This was about or maybe less spicy than salsa at a Mexican restaurant for reference.)

I like this place. Good Selections of food and drinks. My friend and I tried mapo tofu, salt and pepper shrimp, and beef noodle soup. All of them were delicious. Cooked well with good quality ingredients. Definitely one person one entree place unless you are a heavy eater. Three entree for two people was nearly impossible.The vibe of the place felt cliche: Chinese restaurant. But hey sometimes the classic style is what is nice about Chinese restaurants.Its also in the heart of Doraville. This place should be in your list of places to try for international food.

A staple Taiwanese restaurant in the Doravile area with great numbing spiced plates to crave those desires!Purely food based review:Spicy chicken Sichuan style - Tastes super authentic, great level of numbing spice, huge family style portion to share. Highly recommend.Mapo Tofu - Another great addition to share family style. Comes with rice you can refill.Sliced Beef Appetizer - it comes cold, so nice for a hot summer day. A little numbing spice as well.Pork Belly with Fried Tofu - not bad if youre wanting both dishes, otherwise Id just get Mapo Tofu.

The food here is so delicious. I love the three cups chicken and Szechuan chicken. Dan Dan noodles weren’t quite my thing. Pork buns were amazing! I also love the basic spring rolls and scallion pancakes. The pea sprout leaves are also yummy.

Found my new fix. The service was OK but the food was fantastic. I will be back soon for sure.

Best Chinese food in Atlanta. Strongly recommend ‘spicy fish’. Their lunch special is awesome, too! Staffs are always welcoming.

One of the best places to get Taiwanese food. Get the spicy fish dish and you won’t regret it. Everything here is also pretty good including the Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons. The staff is friendly and attentive.

TL;DR - If you like rice and traditional Chinese dishes, you found a gem!! Beware, the food is on the salty end.I ordered an ice coffee milk tea. It is very different from the typical coffee milk tea at a boba place. There is a very slight hint of milk. It reminded me of the Hong Kong-style coffee milk tea I had in NYC.Spicy Fish Fillet - Avoid this dish if you can’t handle spicy food. If you do, it is perfect with a bowl of rice.Double cook pork - A little bit salty. For a meat lover, this is a plate of a dream. There is way more pork than vegetables. However, there are enough vegetables to make you feel not so guilty for eating all those fat bacon.Stirred Fried Chinese Okra - I’m not sure if it is called Chinese okra, but it is worth trying. The texture is similar to Okra but not as sticky.The servers are quick with our orders. Also, they gave us a complimentary dish of spicy cucumber. Not only is it free, but they are also very refreshing and crunchy.The dishes I got are great while severed on top of rice. If you are craving some rice with tasty dishes to go with, this is the place!!! The biggest complain that I have is the food is on the salty end. Beware!!

Uhhh…I’m Taiwanese and my wife is Korean. We’ve tried Boiled beef (or fish or lambin Szechuan sauce EVERYWHERE. This place has THE BEST FLAVOR for ma la Szechuan pepper corn and it’s numbing, spicy, comes scalding hot w veggies underneath. Sorry we are most of it before taking photos. The beef noodle soup is delicious too but the boiled beef was excellent for spicy ma La lovers. We’ve had several other items which were yummy too 3cup chicken, fried meats etc. Enjoy!

Absolutely love this restaurant - been here since before the pandemic and if we didnt live so far away wed come here a lot more often. Their Hakka Stir-Fry was one of our favorite! I usually only eat 1 bowl of rice each meal but whenever I come here Id have to prepare myself in advance (usually skipping a mealand then chow down 2-3 bowls of rice because their food is so appetizing.Very friendly and considerate staff too - refilled our water and gave us more napkins without us asking and also helped us pack our leftover food carefully.

Another great find in the Buford Highway! We ordered the Spici chicken sichuan style, wonton in hot sichuan sauce and Taiwanese Stir fried noodles. We loved the Noodles the most and will go back only for that. Overall great experience

Stopped by this place two years ago due to friends recommendation, and again today. AMAZING food! Had dined in for lunch and liked it so much we did take out for dinner! Their restaurant’s bathroom could use some improvement, however would definitely stop by again in near future

As per usual with restaurants on Buford highway, servers were efficient and kind with their service. This place was a mixed bag when it came to quality of food, though. The mapo tofu we ordered tasted overwhelmingly of Sichuan peppercorns, to the point of not being spicy at all, and almost taking on a sweet flavor on top of the numbing sensation of the peppercorns. The salt and pepper chicken we ordered had a chinese five spice seasoning, but it was seasoned with too much cinnamon, and thus also took on a sweet profile. The quality of meat and protein across our orders was amazing, though. Our chicken, pork, and shrimp all tasted very fresh and seasoned, but the balance of seasoning may not have been the best. I could tell this place was serving authentic food with love cooked into the meals, but I do think some of the flavors need to be balanced with more care.

My friend and I came in for the first time today. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were friendly, but the food was absolutely life changing.I usually dont eat shrimp, but the Honey Walnut Shrimp was probably my favorite thing we ordered. The shrimp were gigantic, juicy, and crispy even with the sauce on them. The sauce was amazing. Not too sweet. I think I could have taken an order of the shrimp on the hour ride home with me and had seconds when I got there.The 3 cups chicken had incredible flavor. Perfectly cooked. This is another dish I will definitely order again.We also tried the Dan Dan noodles which had a unique spiciness to them that was actually pleasing.I wish I didnt live an hour away; Id eat here every week. Then again, maybe its best for my waistline and my wallet that I dont live nearby. I will be back soon though. Save some Honey Walnut Shrimp for me.

Great Taiwanese food in the Asian square shopping center. Everything here is great and the food comes out very fast. The service is great and the staff are all wearing masks. Large restaurant with lots of seating. The salt and pepper tofu is probably the best I have had in Atlanta.

Finally found a place that offers a truly tasty braised pork bun! Its a favorite of mine and Im so happy to have found La Mei Zi. The man who assisted us was friendly and helpful and the food was piping hot and ready in minutes. Ive only ordered takeout, but the restaurant appears clean and has a good atmosphere. I would definitely return to try more dishes. At the time of writing: 2 braised pork buns for $6.

A bit sour, a bit sweet, with haw and a hint of herbal to cool off in the hot summer days.The passion fruit juice was also amazing. One of the best Taiwanese place in Atlanta. Ordered numbing spicy lamb and schezwan style fried chicken along with some chrysanthemum tea. The food was awesome 😎. I will keep coming back

DELICIOUS!!☆☆☆☆☆Upon being seated we asked for hot tea, which they kept full and hot for us. We also tried the kumquat lime juice and Thai tea. Both were good.Immediately, they brought out a tasty and refreshing cucumber salad for free, and we really appreciated that, because we were hungry.To start, we had the Szechuan dumplings. They were so tender. The green inside and red sauce outside were just so beautiful! Perfect amount of numbing and spice. I think you should try them even if you only like a little bit spicy. The sauce was more about the Szechuan effect and not burning spicy.ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃWe ordered 3 Cups chicken, which was rich and had great ginger flavor that wasnt too much. It was served in a sizzling pot and just so yummy. The chicken was very moist and the outside was crunchy. I hope you can hear the sizzle pot in my video.We also ordered General Tso tofu. Its not something we usually order because some restaurants make it too sweet, but thought we would give it a try. It was GREAT! The tofu really was cooked perfectly with minimal batter and juicy inside. The Broccoli included on the dish was so fresh! Bright green and only lightly cooked, with good crunch and nice to dip in the sauces. It looked whole, but it was cut into florets and just had nice presentation on the plate.Lastly, Ill say that we travel a lot and have tried plenty of Chinese meals, authentic style as well as "American style." I rank La Mei Zi as my top choice for Chinese food. Youll never go wrong with 3 cup chicken and mamo tofu, and pork rice.

This was our 1st time ordering from La Mei Zi, got chicken dumplings, spicy chicken in sichuan sauce and veg fried rice. Food was hot, made with lots of fresh veggies and very delicious. Loved the dumplings they were properly stuffed and pan fried to perfection. Slightly disappointed with the spicy chicken in sichuan sauce because there was no sauce at all, it was just sichuan flavored dry crispy fried chicken pieces. Is it suppose to be dry or we received the wrong item? Not sure. Our order got mixed up and we received veggie lo mein instead of veggie fried rice but when we called and spoke about it to the manager/owner he was very polite and helpful and gave us a quick solution of refund or fresh order of fried rice with no additional cost. 10/10 for customer service and politeness. Overall loved the food and the service. will definitely go back to try some more items from the menu and would recommend this place to others.

We werent aware of the weekend lunch buffet until recently and gave it try. The family approved. The selection is small but the quality is good. Tasty eats.

Omg Im so in love with this place! We discovered this restaurant over the summer and have been coming at least 3-4 times a month ever since. We come so much now that the staff recognizes us as regulars. I love this place because the food is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. My favorite dish right now is the Sesame Chicken and I love their Bbq Pork Bao. Also theres a dish that they dont make that Ive requested and theyve stated that if I call in advance, they will make this special dish for me, so Im really excited about that prospect and very appreciative. This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants, so make sure you try it! Its in the back of the strip mall and even though its crowded, we never have a problem finding parking.

We had a wonderful lunch there: atmosphere was not rushed or loud at all - both are common at Buhi establishments in the immediate area. From the menu: three cups chicken was incredibly flavorful, honey walnut shrimp was delish (made with giant high quality shrimp versus other places that serve tiny shrimp with lots of breading), pork bun app was tasty, but the scallion pancake was our least favorite (maybe it was supposed to be served with a sauce as it was rather plain/dry without one?We will definitely go back!

Salt and pepper tofu: nicely fried pieces of tofu with a little bit of spice and crunchy bits that go great mixed in rice3 cups chicken: strong with the ginger but don’t let the smell deter you or you’ll miss out on the amazing taste. It’s a little sweet and salty from the soy sauce but earthy from ginger (idk I’m trying my best to describe it but I’m not a food critic)Loved the two dishes I tried. Super friendly and fast service. I don’t have a single bad comment to write down but I have been warned to stick with the Taiwanese food rather than the mainland Chinese dishes since they are a mainly Taiwanese restaurant.

One of the best Taiwanese restaurants I’ve ever been to! This place is a little hidden gem, owned and operated by two sisters from Taiwan, from what I understand. Great food and service. My favorite dishes are their Hot n’ Sour soup, three cups chicken, and Singapore noodle! Tonight we tried their Double sliced pork, it was good just not our favorite in comparison to the others. Good spot for reasonably priced authentic food. The "hot and numbing" spicy lamb was definitely spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The pork belly and leeks is absolutely amazing. Plus one for having properly prepared beef tendon appetizer. The place seemed very clean but is inviting and spacious.

The staff here was so welcoming and friendly. The food was fast, tasty, and plentiful! Recommend the pork and dumplings. The pickled cabbage was a perfect add-on.

I went today for the weekend buffet,also ordered a menu dish. I love the variety of different things that you would never see on any other buffet. I wish there was a bit more variety of main dishes. But it was good. I plan on coming back because the menu dish was amazing and so much better than the buffet food.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant Chef Liu closed so we gave this a shot. Not bad at all, just could’ve ordered better. The best thing was the sesame chicken and the Young chow fried rice. Cucumber for free was great. Springs rolls next and then the salt and pepper pork chop that was a little dry and needed seasoning. The scallion pancake wasn’t what I was expecting in the fried and delicious sense. It was more like a scallion toasted tortilla.We’ll give it another go with different items. Really want to try the lunch buffet next time we’re in town as it’s only on the weekends and is from 11-2 I believe.Owner was extremely kind and generous. Loved speaking with them and learning about the restaurants history and where they’re from including the staff which is Taiwan!!

We went here for lunch with a group and had the best meal!! Our waitress was super helpful. We had hot tea to start and the Szechuan numbing dumplings. They were so delicious!!Then we shared Kung Pao Chicken, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Singapore Rice Noodles, Dan Dan Noodles and Lamb Szechuan Dish. Everything was outstanding. Such amazing flavor! Big portions! I could eat here every day!!

In the same shopping center as Mamek, opposite side In the back. Great staff, and wonderful soups. But, the big winner here is the Salt and Pepper Fish. Light, flavorful, slight spice. Amazing dish.
