La Leda - Seafood restaurant in Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Great seafood.
This is my favorite on the road between San José and Guanacaste. This is simple food done right. Nothing fancy, but the ingredients are fresh and everything is tasty. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The clams are a real treat (pianguaand the fruit juices are delicious.
A must stop on your way to Guanacaste, go for the Camerones con arroz (not the Arroz con camerones!). The home made chillies are famous all across Costa Rica, you can buy them also as a gift.
Excellent food and fast services
Quality is not the same anymore but the food is fresh and the service is fine, the place is most of the times so full you have to wait in line to get a table. Didnt take photos of my food as it was not very inviting nor delicious.
Loved the service and food😍 nice idea with a range of seafood snacks for beer! And home made spicy sauces are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great price amazing food great staff and what a view!!
Very Expensive....be careful with delicias Lida plate..found broken shells in my plate...low quality food.
Good food and attention!
Great place for seafood, in that area with a great service and view to add on.
Great experience. Food was delicious. Price was fantastic. Staff were super kind and helpful. Definitely recommend. Other restaurants nearby not as good.
Stoped in for lunch traveling through. Great service. Fish & lobster was over cooked and dried out unfortunately. Our server was amazing though! Calamari was great!
3rd time visit under sunset. I love it. Hope to visit next vacation.
If you are a die-hard fresh fish fan this is a place for you. However for us as being vegetarian and vegan there were or should I say only one option. So it came up really short in our book. if you dont mind the noise and the street traffic youll be okay here.
This was such a treat to find. Great view, awesome food, fantastic staff!! The best birthday lunch in 58 years! The staff will come to the table with a small cake and light a candle while they sing happy birthday. I highly recommend going here!!
Great seafood, good location. The view is fine, full view of the bridge. Prices are reasonable, wait times were fine. Theres a parking lot diagonal to the restaurant, but its not part of the restaurant. Parking price was "ok" 1,000 colones for a bit more than the hour taken to lunch.
It has always been a must-stop on family trips. While food is good, i feel it has decayed a bit on last years...
Great atmosphere! Very generous portions, super friendly staff. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth the search. Free bocas with every beer. Come during high tide for the best experience.
This place is always wonderful. Service quick, efficient and they always give something extra. Good value for money relation. This is the best place to eat sea food in the area and probably the country.
I got a hair in my food and even though the waiter was amazing at handling the situation ... the fact still remained... it was gross.
I tried the ceviche and cas (drinkand it was really tasty. The coconut cajetas are a must!
The seafood soup is excellent, its a great appetizer even on hot days (you may order a small free one when buying a beer). The fried fish is unbeatable as well, the waiter brings a few of the catch of the day and you choose which one you want among the different available sizes and fish types.Been visiting Leda for decades and I never left disappointed. The view is excellent too, its a good spot to watch the sunset.
A pretty unique stop. Great place to grab s a beer and some ceviche. Our fav part were the bocas up front. Like apperetivi in Italy or tapas in Spain. Lots of fun creatures at low tide for the kids to explore.
Excellent fresh seafood and great service. Prices really good. The view is amazingI highly recommend La Leda.
It is more expensive than in the United States, which is surprising for the place and location. The quality is very mixed so be careful what you order. Dont order anything that is not alive. I chose a small alive lobster, it was 2x the price of a fresh lobster in Maine, but it was pretty good. It was in a delicious garlic butter sauce and thankfully cooked perfectly. Also the beer was cold and good too! Again, order things that are alive at time of order to ensure freshness. One of their free appetizers was a molusk that was alive and was good. They have good desserts too!
Get the fried fish its delicious. Also the view is amazing. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. If you are making the drive to anywhere on the Nicoya peninsula this is a great place to stop for a bite to eat before the long trip.
Staff was caring, they have all the protocols to enter the building, the food was very good and good portions. Price was reasonable.
Whole fried snapper should not be missed! Worth the price! Lovely view and the staff were super nice!
Very nice, clean and great food.
Great food and great service. Not a cheap Eat but you get what you pay for. We paid $40 for two drinks, a large plate of fish shrimp and two lobster tails, a large side of fried yucca. We also got two small free plates and a small dessert for free.
The coconut calamari, the garlic mariscos, and the little clam bocas that came with each drink were excellent. The view is nice. Nice place to spend a slow weekend brunch/lunch.
They give a free snack when you get there and also they give you a sweet treat when you live... They have fair prices, good quality products and a nice amount of food... Oh and the customer service is amazing!
Always a place to stop when driving by the area. Awesome food and as fresh seafood as you can get. Is not cheap at all, consider that you will spend around 10.000 costarrican colones per person ($20but for us is worth it.
Fantastic - deserves its great reputation. The staff are really friendly and most of them speak a bit of English, and the food is excellent. Casados are HUGE!
Great place to eat with the locals. They can accommodate large groups in their large dinning area. They have a beautiful view of the bay.
This was an excellent presentation of fresh seafood and well executed Costa Rica style cuisine. We tried many dishes and nothing disappointed. Plenty of options for the kids as well.
Fresh Fresh Fresh seafood..Did I say Fresh seafood? Local hidden Gem in Costa Rica..the oqner and Staff are very friendly..The plates are huge and seasoned perfectly..My Tastebuds went to heaven and I can not wait for my next trip so I can stop there to eat..absolutely delicious
Good food, good service
Great food and views! I had the seafood plate with lobster, shrimp and the snapper.
Wow!! If you like seafood you cant go wrong at La Leda, one of my favorite restaurants in Costa Rica. You get a boca (small platewith every drink (an old Costa Rica tradition not followed by many places anymore), its a great way to try some of their dishes. You have to try the clams!! And the mixed seafood platter is to die for. You can even pick your own fresh lobster from one of their tanks. Too many great dishes to list... oh, and their prices are modest.
They have a nice selection of beer. The place has a unique view that cant be beaten. They are super honest about what you get, is very fresh (see the fish pic, plus lobster tank). They give free 1 sample of food per drink ordered. They really care, I was on a table of 5 people and they even sweet cajeta with the check.Highly recommend it. Good seafood, great staff.
Great fresh seafood! When we sat down they gave us appetizers with shrimp, and a few types of clams. Had the grilled shrimp entree which was great. Finished with a sweet calamari dish (complementarywhich was unexpectedly good.Waterfront seating, the kids went and dipped their toes while we waited for the food. They threw scraps to the fish in the nearby bay and it was fun to watch the feeding frenzy.
Best clams and whole fried fish in town
Amazing food for an unbeatable price. 5 minute drive from the Double Tree puntarenas. Service is great staff is really attentive bilingual in both English and Spanish. Definitely will be going back on our next trip. Entire meal was under $120 US which included Red Snapper 4 lobster tails 4 coronas 2 bottles of hot sauce a order of tostones and a large seafood rice.
Seafood is fresh, as a waterfront restaurant should serve. The quality of the food has been decreasing though, theyve lost consistency and last time I went the garlic shrimp was swimming in cheap margarine. Beers are NEVER truly cold.
Best seafood restaurant in the area. English speaking waiters who helped me, the vegetarian, select an equally delicious meal. They even educated us with Costa Rican fruit varieties!
A bit of a local legend. Place is known around Costa Rica for its seafood.Place is nothing fancy. However you will always find a crowd during lunch hours. Popular place to stop on your road trip to Guanacaste or for Sunday trip from San Jose.I had the octopus sauteed with garlic. Tasty & Fresh. Well prepared.Others in our party had rice with squid and rice with shrimp. Both were very good.
Great food near the beach.
Best seafood in Costa Rica.
Its appearance is not of a fancy restaurant, but this place is known in all the country due to its great selection, freshness and taste of the seafood. This is a landmark and completely recommended if you want t a good Whole fish or a good Ceviche
