Excellent food and ambiance!

I can’t stop thinking of their tomato soup! The vegetarian pasta dish (pasta primaverawas also great and the service was wonderful.

Just wow! Make sure to let the chef choose your dish. 8 of us were all happy with his recommendations.

10 stars for this gem of a restaurant in Cartagena! Arguably the best pasta weve had anywhere, and weve traveled through Italy and live in the SF Bay area where there are many excellent Italian restaurants. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and for someone who does not like cheese in their pasta sauce, the seafood pasta was divine. We also had the salmon with herbs, and it was light, tender and perfectly seasoned. My kids devoured their food, and we had to order another pasta entree because we loved it all so much. To top it off, Chef Pietro (originally from Milancame to our table, made recommendations and ensured everything was perfect. From the comprehensive menu to the extensive wine list, you will find something that you like here. The staff and service are impeccable. The restaurant has beautiful ambiance for a special date night or celebratory dinner. We also loved the music playlist. All in all, a 10-star dining experience.

This was actually my favorite meal we had while in Cartagena. We had eaten at some great Colombian restaurants and were looking to change things up. This was a great choice. My veal Marsala was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Amazing restaurant and experience. The food is excellent and truly traditional. I’ve been here twice and the chef has always personally taken our orders and been amazing to interact with. A great experience of Italy in South America! A must stop while visiting Cartagena.

We had such a special experience at this restaurant. Not only is the restaurant itself absolutely stunning and beautiful to sit in, but the food is also delicious! The staff made the experience personable. We highly recommend and will visit again in the future.

Excellent food . I have visited them twice in the last two months and food is very consistent and well done . The first time the owner himself came to the table to give us his recommendations and cook each meal we ordered.Service was very very good also.Its a big big old house inside the walls of the old city. They have very nice and elegant inside dining and a big outdoor patio on the back .Food was well prepared and beautifully presented !!

This place was super nice. More nice that no one else was there so the service was amazing. Lol. But the food was exceptional as well. I got ravioli with shrimp my husband being a copy cat got ravioli as well but with prosciutto. I highly recommend going to this gem.

It was a great little spot in town to spend my last night with my girlfriend. Great service and food. The wine was also great. Definitely would recommend this place.

Great food and great alternative now that the Enoteca shut down. The food is amazing (must try the beef carpaccioand the wine is reasonably priced. The terrace is nice and cozy, just make sure to bring bug repellent if you come at dusk or before 8 pm.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of Dining at. This was by far the top restaurant I had the opportunity to taste in all of Cartagena. Beautiful dining area and wonderful ambiance. 10/10 will definitely be visiting again!!!

Chose this restaurant based on a personal recommendation and immediately understood why! The service and food were simply amazing, probably the best Italian menu in the City with an actual Italian chef! Each course was beautifully prepared and presented well and the wine choices were excellent! I highly recommend and know you will enjoy!

Been here about 4 times and every time the food has been amazing. Everything is made fresh and the tiramisu is AMAZING. Can’t complaint about the price either. Everyone that’s loves Italian food needs come here. You Won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful restaurant inside and outside. The owner/chef was very attentive and great on answering any and all questions. The food was delicious and the art on display in the back of the restaurant was great. The patio dining area is very romantic. Great experience overall.

If you want Italian food by excellence, you must stop here. The pasta is *perfectly* al dente, the sauce just right, and the flavour undeniably exquisite. This is the epitomy is great food, when you can make something so simple be so memorable. You wont regret it.

Nice Italian restaurant. The decor of modern touches over a very old building made us feel like we were in Italy. Burrata with prosciutto appetizer was very good. We also had the mushroom soup that was rich and savory. The pasta dish was cooked a perfect al dente. Only downer was most of the items on the wine list were not available. Service was friendly and attentive, great spot for a date.

This has been a very good experience, the owner and chef, its very envolved in taking care of his costumers. food was spectacular and the service attentive.

Maps fails to mention how fancy this place is. The food was great and the service was exceptional, also the atmosphere was really nice. Only the portion was way too big for me, but thats really nothing to complain about.

First, I want to be honest and say that Ive been working with the people at La Girolata for several weeks now, adding "see inside" tours and taking photos of their beautiful restaurants. However, Ive also had the pleasure to sample many of their dishes, and all were amazing, including Antipasti de Chef, Antipasti di Mare, Carpaccio de Manzo, Ravioli di Farmagio, and many others. Chef Pietro Piva is an amazing chef and absolutely loves his job and his restaurant staff is top notch - super attentive and friendly. All in all, if you are in Cartagena and craving authentic Italian food, and you want to experience your meal in a beautiful, historic place within the walled city, you cant go wrong with La Girolata, Cartagena.
