La Fontana - Italian restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Good Italien food. Perfect Pizza and friendly staff. All good.
Lovely food, it’s the real Italian deal.
Service was friendly and efficient, pizza was decent, could’ve done with a bit more flavour but all in all was good
Drink are bad.Food is ok standard but not let you go back again type.Service...... 😐
I feel like I’ve died and gone to food heaven. Everything from the food to the service exceeded expectations .Yummm Excellent bruschetta / a very nice salad with basalmic and olive oil / home made pasta in cream sauce with eggplant and mushrooms / capped off with a very chocolate mousse .Really outstanding a full cut above !I’ve been to two other Italian restaurants in the old city ( one was much more expensive and “upscale” )They are not even in the same league LaFontana .6 stars highly recommended! You should go and get you some of this : - )
the Owner is friendly and the staff too, pizza margherita was very good,I enjoyed dinner
Although many ingredients were missing and and the staff didnt speak English at all, the food was very tasty. We had the green pizza, greek salad, caprese salad and some pasta dish
If you desire a fine italian food..All fresh and tasty.. great service!
I ordered Genovese pizza, what I see on the photo is completely different, even if the photos comes from the restaurant they are not willing to use ingredients, they reduced it..What a shame!I feel bad for all the names of Italian restaurants. The pizza dough is difficult to chew and swallow, which make the whole main part of pizza completely messed..I also ordered Lasagna and it doesnt really have any tomato sauce, so it doesnt really have much taste of again main ingredient.I hope you all can look for a better restaurant because this one failed my expectations for Italian cuisine.
If youre looking for an Italian fix in Chiang Mai, La Fontana is a great spot for a pizza or pasta
Visa did not work here because they need cash. and they told me my visa is not working.. when I went to 7-Eleven grocery it work fine.I told them I have a cash $100 and they ask me to go to money exchange. When iam about to go there they ask me you have to put some thing a deposit like your mobile phone or watch or anything..why they do that, they do not trust me !
La Fontana was delicious. My only complaint was that it took one hour to get a Margherita pizza. It was delicious though!
The pollo marsala was a disappointment. It was more like a cream sauce. Also, this chicken is clearly breaded and fried in the picture on the menu but came out cooked in the sauce like boiled chicken. Edible yet clearly not chicken marsala
The bruschetta was of the simple sort, yesterday’s bread with a slice of tomato and cheese. The red wine tasted old, but not in a good way. Probably opened before Covid, by the taste of it. We asked if it was possible to have the lasagna without meat, which was possible according to the waitress but apparently not according to the chef as it was served with minced meat. The only thing saving this place is the decent cheese. Unfortunate that we didn’t have the same experience as other guests.
Tasty Italian food. Often busy in the evenings. Nice staff.
Great place. Friendly, attentive, tasty food. We went back
Excellent Italian food! My son (10 y.o.ate a full sized pizza for the first time of his life. Best pizza he ever had he said! The other dishes were excellent as well! Tired of having Thai food every single day? This is the place for some real good, authentic fresh made Italian food!
Very good restaurant, very good food. The gnocchi is very authentic(and also home made), the pizza is great!
Had an authentic Italian Caprese made by hand. Light and fresh. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
All around great service, great food, great price. Recommended.
Authentic, tasteful and good service. The pasta was really good, italian style running by an italian man (super nice). I highly recommend this place if you miss the good pasta
very good food. reasonably priced. nice and relaxed environment.
Excellent Italian restaurant in The Old City. Moderately priced, very popular and quite busy. Even the House Red Wine is good. Veg friendly too.Returned again for veg pizza and it was delizioso. Very busy again too.
Found this gem of a restaurant totally by chance and discovered one of the best pizzas Ive had in Thailand. And I speak after searching for nearly 2 decades. Give it a try.
Brilliant and legit pasta/risotto. An immense relief from too much Thai food 🤣The offer of wines in glasses/carafes/bottle was appreciated for couples who cannot finish the full bottle. White wine served in optimum temperature.
I ordered a Calzoni pizza to take away and it was the best Calzoni I have ever tasted! Ive been to Italy many times and eaten plenty of Calzoni pizzas but never tasted one so good, absolutely Amazing, I would highly recommend this restaurant, a true taste of Italy! 10/10
This restaurant was the good surprise of Chiang Mai. Food is delicious, price is affordable, staff are welcoming and the place is well maintained. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a lovely place with fantastic dishes and at affordable prices. We tried the Gnocchi pesto and loved its moreish sauce, Marinara pizza and mixed greens.
Here Italian food was super good. I love it. And very nice service. ❤️❤️ I cant wait to come back again here
Ive ordered many times from them and the food has always been excellent but today the pizzas I ordered were easily the worst Ive ever had and thats including pizzas Ive had at pizza company. The dough was undercooked and had a strange after taste. I hate to leave a bad review but maybe if they can explain here on their site I will remove this review. The other dishes I ordered today were all excellent but those pizzas..?!?!?!? (I would have done this with an private email to them. It they have no listed email).
Really good Italian food, great desserts, Ian highly recommended!
I loved this restaurant which was recommended to me by a friend. There is a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes and I enjoyed every dish that I ordered. The pizza especially was so good.I also met the friendly Italian co-owner and had a nice quick chat.Try this place if youre craving great Italian food.
You may be thinking why a 3 rating?! The food was excellent, but, it took literally Forever to get your food! We ordered 1 salad 2 bowls of pasta ... yes they were busy but not an acknowledgement that they were busy?! Sorry you are waiting would have helped! So if you want to take the chance of being neglected without acknowledgment, Be my guest! We will never go back! Too many good Italian restaurants in Chiang Mai
Delicious Italian restaurant with a real authentic feel from the Italian chef/ owner. Service was fantastic and we cant wait to go back!
Always an enjoyable evening the staff is friendly welcoming and inviting the food is delicious a fantastic menu we highly recommend you eat La Fontana
Very good pizza and serviceHighly recommend
Whoah! Look no further - this place is IT for Italian food in Chiang Mai!All food here is hand made by Owner, Sebastian, and his team - made from family recipes. ABSOLUTELY ASTOUNDING!! Wish I could give it 7 or 8 stars - only because people would question a “10”!
Delicious food, polite staff, very nice owner. Pizza and Calzone sensational in taste, drinks and a nice atmosphere. A good Italian place in the city
Our first evening in Chiang Mai and we found this charming Italian restaurant. A full menu was available, though we stayed simple with soup (French Onion, Pumpkinalong with a pizza. Delicious meal and very courteous proprietor. Recommended. Will return. (Oct 2021)
Good place and good food.Large selection of wine
Second time eating here, by accident. I was searching for a good Italian place for dinner before joining the Makha Bucha Day celebrations in the Old Citys temple and I did not realise I had been here a year ago.Still good value. Pizza was decent with generous toppings, and I enjoyed the antipasti. The Italian owner was warm and friendly too.
We had a perfect lunch. Delicious fresh ingredients. Excellent pizza. A fantastic selection of cured meats. Generous portions. The wine was amazing value(we brought a bottle back to the hotel for later). Were looking forward to eating here again.
The restaurant owner is Italian and a nice cyclist.I come here with friends many times . Chilli sauce on table are very good smell and special than other pizza restaurants I have come. Pizza is also good always.Enjoy the foods at the restaurant for better tastes.👍Cant find other delicious pictures on cell phones to uploading ( spaghetti, bread, other pizza good 😀. )
Very disappointed by my experience here. I ordered a veggie pizza and a glass of wine to go with my meal. The pizza arrived and it was a thing crust pizza, but horribly oily and undercooked. Whenever you tried to take a bite, the cheese would slide off the pizza. I tried calling over a waiter to get my wine but they never brought it. Left disappointed and feeling like I had a pit of oil in. Shame because the owner seems nice.
The weirdest carbonara spaghetti ever 😓 test like eggs spaghetti instead. The pumpkin soup was lovely. 👍🏻
A quiet and pleasant place. The food is good but not spectacular. The size of the dishes is really good as is the taste. The service is good.Prices are slightly higher than the average in the area.Good option to eat something different from Asian food.
Ordered lasagna, taste was good but lasagna was not warm being served. Had a banana split for desert but the icecream was not good quality, was more water then icecream.
Ok Pizza for Thailand. We liked the carbonara and fresh salad delicious price is reasonable beautiful garden very relaxing restaurant
Although the restaurant is simple and not fancy. However they have good pizza,Very tasty. The rossetto wasnt so good.
The best pizza Ive eaten in Chiang Mai. Ive been here three times and the food was always delicious and quickly served. I can recommend the Pizza Deliziosa (picture belowfor 220 Baht. Pizza Margerita costs 150 Baht. Excellent prices for fantastic food.
