La Cucina in Luzern

English speaking patrons beware. We had a overall horrible experience. Over 2 hours total time for a dinner that 6 other tables turned twice while we sat for our meal. One other English speaking couple next to us demanded there check and left half way through.Food was ok not great. Best part was the wine. Not worth the $200 spent

The food was very good but the time of preperation was very long so that is why I gave it 4 stars. Overall good experience and I would really reccomend it.

It is a feast of confusion for English speakers. The staffs are friendly, but cant speak English well which causes multiple problems for us. Waiting time for anything is quite long too btw.Firstly, wrong foods ordered despite we pointed through the menu (we usually do this to avoid confusion). Although the manager was good enough to give us free starter to compensate.Second confusion: When we asked for the bill, the manager stopped us from getting the bill, and mentioned something about free ice cream. So, we thought... compensation? But when the bill is here, the ice cream is chargeable. Maybe we didnt understand the culture there...Despite all that, the foods were quite good. Other staffs were OK, so we we gave 10 CHF tips (because the manager said we should tip the staff brcause this restaurant is different?). Anyway, whatever. We all left the restaurant in confusion discussion what went wrong instead of discussing about the foods.

This is a wonderful restaurant located in Astoria Hotel in downtown Lucerne. We had a great time and the dinner here was simply perfect. Our waiter, Emiliano, was friendly and well informed. We had an excellent Barolo wine with the meals of spaghetti with clams and sea bass. Highly recommend.

Food is 6/10They have this beautiful open kitchen and the cooks are all facing outwards. Which are prbly just heating things up.The food should rlly be at least an eight for charging top prices.Service 9/10

Excellent food and European wines; Italian-speaking server who also spoke some English; nice table outside; excellent service except server stated to « dumb American tourists » that gratuities are not already included in the bill.

The service was amazing and the food was delicious. We had the truffle pizza which we would highly recommend.

What an experience it was- not!Food was ok, but the service was terrible. For the start, the waiter literally throwed a plate with olive oil and bread on the table. Then handed out the menues and asked about 5 mins after if we were ready to order. We were. But after everyone ordered their food he disappeared. Without handing out a drinks or wine menu, or even asking for drinks. So our food arrived and we were left without drinks. Something i have never ever experienced before.

Me and my family had dinner in La Cucina and I really need to say that Mr.Pietro made an amazing impressions. Very friendly and always looking that everything is going well! Thank you!

Delicious food. Service was good, but they messed up our order. They were quick to remedy the mistake and gave us a free starter while we waited. A little pricey but a lovely experience all in all.

The food was nice and the tiramisu was the best of all the restaurants we have ever gone. The guy who served us was very nice until we asked for the bill. He sighed and then showed a rude attitude to us.

Best Italian restaurant of Switzerland. Food is really good and atmosphere amazing with opera sounding….Mateo is the best, his service makes you feel like in the best place of Italy. If you like good food and best restaurants and you visit Luzern, don’t miss La Cucina!!!

The food is really good and the vibe is also great. La cucina made me feel energised and at home at the same time. I especially liked the soufflé and the calamari rocket salad. Had the veal but it was too thinly cooked, perhaps just not my test but it was good nonetheless. Some one had a celebration and the music the restaurant chose was really cute. We had a lot of fun!

1 star for the food and 0 star for the service, which is absolutely terrible. I usually only write positive reviews for restaurants to encourage and share great experiences. La Cucina has been an utter disappointment. Let me list out what went wrong with their service.1. We were told we had about 75 mins before the table needs to be cleared. From the moment we sat down, everything felt very rushed, our waiter asked us if we were ready to order every other minute.2. After finishing our meal in 35 mins, we asked for dessert menu but instead were given the bill. Upon re-asking for the menu the waiter looked at his watch and said no time.3. At the point of payment, the waiter asked for a tip. Even after the terrible experience so far, we were nice enough to offer a tip. The waiter ignored our number and entered a higher amount and basically forced it on us.Overall, our waiter had a highly arrogant attitude all along (to be fair n not criticize all wait staff, we are identifying our waiter - he was a tall & bald man). Reading other reviews, it seems like a lot other customers have similar experiences. Never going back there and do not recommend to anyone.

Pizza was delicious but I would have preferred a traditional tiramisù. A bit on the expensive side.

Good service - very friendly staff. Arrived without a reservation but it was a quiet Sunday night so no problem. Our waiter seemed to speak multiple languages very well so great for foreign visitors. Service felt a little rushed considering not too many guests, but we were not neglected and all service in good time.Atmosphere and setting classy and elegant.We both ordered pizzas and a mixed salad to share. All were excellent and pizzas were very large so we could have shared one.A bit expensive (£££but in keeping with the area, setting and food quality- overall lovely meal and evening.Smart/casual dress appropriate.

Pizza was average and the service was not good. Less staffs for the nr of guests on a Saturday evening is not a good idea. I had to wave a couple of times until someone came by.Taste & quality wise: I definitely give pizza from Luigia a 10 stars! La cucina pizza maybe 6 stars.

The service was 10/10 I ordered the Truffle pasta it’s so so delicious! One of the best Italian restaurants highly recommended.My cousin ordered the Arrabiata pasta she said it’s her first time to complete the whole pasta!!The best to be honest!!! 😍😍😍😍😍

Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. We tried the pizza and ravioli filled with mushrooms which tasted phenomenal! We had a wonderful evening thanks to the staff and the superb service provided by the manager, Roberto, who was very attentive and kind. I would highly recommend going.

Fantastic food and service in a wonderful atmosphere. Booked for lunch with our 3 children and all the staff, the restaurant Manager particuarly couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. He was brilliant with the kids while my 5 year old daughter proclaimed it the best pasta she’d ever eaten.We’ll certainly return and I would very much recommend.

Tasty and well prepared dishes. However, we were disappointed with the limited menu - we were not informed that there will be a limited offering due to the pandemic. I believe this should be clearly stated before one can make a reservation. Classic dishes, but unfortunately nothing that would make La Cucina stand out and merit a second visit.

This is a Michelin star Italian restaurant at center of Luzern. I have tasted many of menu. I ate one of the best and most delicious meals i have ever tasted. Ambiance is amazing. Price are high but worth it. Absolutely recommended.

I would like to say thank you to the whole staff as our appointment was for 19:00 but we got stuck in traffic and arrived 50 minutes later. Needless to explain how wonderful the food is over here. It is our #1 restaurant when we visit Luzern. A special kudos to Luigi for the great service.

Had a very nice lunch, having a very delicious cheese souffle and Calamary and of course the famous Tiramisu. Always love to go back to this warm and cosy atmosphere in La Cucina. And the charming manager as well the waiters. I’ve been coming to La Cucina since I came to Switzerland, almost 20 years ago.

The best Italian restaurant in Luzern so far I found. Food is very good. Service is excellent. We all love it.

We really liked this place. Ravioli is amazing, it is a must try. The service is also great. It is qucik and careful.The waiters noticed our personal condition without requiring us telling them. The heat of food is nicely balanced. Finally the atmosphere is lovely.

The place is quite typical. The waiters and the manager are really nice and welcoming. We started out with a bruschetta with a tasty burrata (highly recommended), followed by Pasta Frutti di mare (a house specialty). The. Cheese platter wasnt as good as expected but the tiramisu is a must. Try it out when stopping in town for a good Italian restaurant.

A swiss friend brought us here and it was one of the better Italian restaurants we had on our trip, including the one in Basel. What was great were the freshness of the ingredients! Pizzas were fantastic, the risotto was lovely and I had my best ever grilled calamari that was just oozing a wonderful taste in my mouth with each bite! Another big plus point would be the excellent service here which made it all the more pleasant! Anyone in Lucerne should make a dining stopover here!
