La Crosse Queen Cruises in La Crosse
Description
Privilege
The cruise was nice but the weather wasnt great (not their fault). The pizza was Dominos but the beer was free flowing.
MoreGreat day trip and memory making with friends! Recommend the Sight seeing tour
Drank endless beer for an hour and a half. Dosent get much better than that. My record was 9 with a mixed drink. I’m gonna try to shatter that next time. I certainly will be coming back for more.
MoreWe arrived on a brisk autumn morning for the site seeing cruise. The enclosed bottom tier was welcoming, though we maneuvered around the vessel as temps warmed. The microphone’d guide up top gave all sorts of interesting facts about the river area at Lacrosse - audible everywhere on the boat. A bar was also nice to have a drink on the water; ($10 minimum for credit card purchases). The ride was very smooth surrounded by beautiful scenery. We plan on returning to Lacrosse and scheduling either dinner or lunch; the trip was totally enjoyable. It
MoreVery fun pizza and beer cruise
We went on a dinner cruise, our waiter was terrible, he asked us to carry our drinks upstairs... They had this nerve-wracking bad singer, singing the entire time; he was so bad it made us all edgy. The best time on the boat was when he didnt sing. The boat was very overcrowded! It was not comfortable! They dont need to pack people in like sardines for the price they charge. They said they had a dress code online, but this was a hillbilly boat ride. Honestly, I wouldnt waste $50 per person on this trip. The ride was long and torturous! Also, the bar is out of EVERYTHING to make drinks! They also make drinks with half of a shot, so good luck.
MoreReally enjoyed the Captains Sunday brunch tour. Narrated tour highlighted some history of area, barges, swing bridge. Enjoyed our table mates for brunch and conversation.
MoreBeautiful evening. Pizza was pizza (dominos), soda was ice cold and it wasnt overcrowded at all though you will need to be able to tolerate other peoples children running around. This group wasnt too bad.
MoreHad a great time with girlfriends. Pizza was tasty and plentiful. Gorgeous day on the river. Definitely recommend!!
MoreA nice 90 minute cruise and the ship pilot gives nice history of the area and the Missippippi River. It was rainy but the top deck is covered so that helped keep us dry.
MoreThis was a very enjoyable and informative 1.5 hour cruise on the Mississippi river. For only $17.95 per adult, it was a great way to get out on the river and learn some of the local history.
MorePeaceful boat ride on the Mississippi, a wonderful experience.
This was a fun experience for my grandkids. We did the pizza/beer/soda cruise. Our cruise was full so crowded. Beer was lukewarm and the pizza was Dominos. We had seats on top and had good views. If you want a table, get there early and be at the front of the line boarding.
MoreIm used to the Taylors falls cruise in Minnesota which has more to see. There was no wild life and it was not very enjoyable. I did like the commentary provided, but I think a shorter one wouldve been better for me. Also have the gift shop in a different building so there isnt so much collision for coming and going.
MoreThe La Crosse Queen is the perfect private event venue. We had a wedding rehearsal pizza cruise in 2022 on the boat for 80 guests. The cruise was so easy to work with. The views were beautiful and our guests had a blast.
More2nd time on the LaCrosse Queen. This time we did the brunch cruise. Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Would like to try the dinner cruise next.
MoreWas a great time! The boat was very very clean. Would be great for parties. It tours a good portion for the price.
MoreAwesome experience....nice tour guide
The river boat alone is worth the experience. Way cool to see the paddles in motion, as well as the scenery. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Offered food and beverages in the bottom level. Recommend taking a trip. Lots of fun. A good way to learn and see the history.
MoreIf I could leave no stars I would. If you are looking for a nice relaxing boat ride this is not it. My boyfriend and I thought the ticket prices were way over priced for what you get. Our main complaint would be how crowded it was on the boat. It was too hard to enjoy yourself because you were on top of strangers yelling over one another. We did the pizza tour and got no pizza. By the time we got up there for pizza after waiting for the massive line to be done they had no plates left. How they heck do they not have enough plates?? We weren’t even upset, it looked cold and gross anyways. We got stuck with seats in the middle of the boat and with how crowded the boat was we couldn’t see the view because people were non stop standing, running back and forth. The complimentary beer was warm and gross. I don’t like beer so it would of been nice to have wine instead. The seats were hard plastic and we left with our backs hurting. $50 waisted. Would not recommend to anyone, wish we could get a refund.
MoreI went on the pizza cruise and enjoyed it, nice view of the river. it was a bit crowded on the lower deck, as it Id the only accessible part of the boat. The upper deck was a great place to enjoy the weather. However, the one star review is specifically for the crew members serving pizza and manhandling it with their bare hands! Seriously?!? Get a pizza cutter and a serving utensil, great investment.... I would really like to see a local pizza option in the future.
MoreMy husband and I enjoyed this Pizza/Beer Cruise with our adult children and their significant others (ages 22-37on Saturday. We had a blast. The boat is absolutely beautiful and the views are gorgeous. Love that music plays during the cruise. The crew was attentive and nice, the pizza (Dominoeswas good, the tap beer was also good. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!
MoreWhat a great way to spend an afternoon all the people I sat next to were very friendly and it is a very nice enjoyable Slow Ride up the Mississippi River I would definitely recommend it I give it a five out of five especially because it only cost $20. It has a full bar and you can also purchase candy and popcorn.
MoreIt was a nice way to get out on the water....but.....They let people line up through the handicap access gate. The line you were supposed to wait in through the gift shop was stifling hot. Then the people who lined up where you werent supposed to skipped the others when boarding. One location for warm beer (30 minute linewith people skipping. And one location to pick up pizza (Dominos). Spent more time waiting in line than enjoying the ride. Why cant the have a food/beverage station on each level?
MoreWe really enjoyed the ride, very informative. The bar had drinks, popcorn. Beautiful boat ride
MoreCool views but a bit crowded. Did pizza tour and pizza was general delivery but should have been a local business for promoting. Try sunset ride instead. Surf & Turf on the river is great!
MoreAs a La Crosse resident I’ve done the Queen twice this summer. Both times were great! This is an excellent activity if you are coming from out of town or if you have family coming to visit. I have done the sightseeing cruise because it’s informative and interesting to learn about La Crosse and the Mississippi. The sightseeing cruise is also very family friendly. The staff is friendly, accommodating and willing to answer all your questions.
MoreThis was a really special experience as I had never been on a true paddle boat before. The guide who narrated our trip did a great job and was very informative. We got to see a bald eagle that was about 30 to 40 ft away as it was perched along a branch. Disappointed we didnt make it quite down to the locks but the trip was still enjoyable
MoreLots of loud, rude children and adults which made it difficult to hear captain give tour details. Very disrespectful to the captain and others trying to enjoy the trip. Captain did a great job and was funny.
More4 stars Nice boat ride but paid for the supper ride. Half star for Beer and pizza.end up getting 2 cold pieces of pizza and foam beer. That wasnt very cold. We had party of eight. Will probably never do that again.
MoreI will start off by saying that the staff are super friendly, but after that ...Over cooked might be a good place to start. Or is it the lack of planning by the River Queen Staff. I had to shared a piece of chicken with my husband as other took 2 or 3 servings for themselves. There was shrimp and additional was placed on to my plate since there literally very small pieces (perhaps that of a sparrowof wings left in the serving dish I was told that an extra carrot cake would be sent to the table in place of my meal ha ha ha. The carrot cake was cut into small squares and we asked them for coffee, I am pretty sure the the waters of the Mighty Mississippi were darker and had more flavor . Shame on this company for doing such a lack luster job. Save your money.
MoreThree of us chose the simple sightseeing cruise on the upper deck. The speaker was interesting, the weather was perfect, and the beer was good and cheap. Its definitely a great thing to do in La Crosse. Highly recommended.
MoreFun, great experience with lovely views of the Mississippi River and informative tour guides.
MoreThis is a great cruise, we did the pizza cruise. It should be called the beer cruise, with some pizza. . . They literally have ladys running around with pitchers making sure your glass stays topped off. I would offer 1 suggestion, they should sell a larger souvenir cup prior to boarding that you can take with you. Great trip up and down the Mississippi.
MoreLa Crosse Queen Cruise. Sunset dinner cruise is awesome, then the midnight cruise cant see anything but still very cool.
MoreBeautiful and interesting cruise, we had a great time
We booked the Saturday dinner cruise on May 14th 2022. It was supposed to be a 2 1/2 hour cruise. It ended 25 min. early. There was also supposed to be live music, but that never happened. We didnt get to go through lock number 7. Maybe thats why it ended so early. It took so long to get through dinner we didnt have much time to sit on the upper deck to enjoy the sights. If it went full time we could have had some time up there. It was not at all what I expected. Not worth the money we paid. I wont be back and I wouldnt recommend it. I gave 1 star only because the food was good.
MoreMy wife and I took a Friday evening pizza cruise. Staff were super friendly and it was a nice relaxing ride on the river. You’re served Dominos pizza and a pretty weak tasting local beer (and that’s coming from a dude who drinks Busch Light). The price you’re charged is very fair, though, because I had three slices of pizza and like six beers in 90 minutes. Pizza is not all-you-can-eat but I got my fill and I’m a big hungry dude. Beer is all-you-can-drink, so there’s that! Overall, a good deal and a great time. I’d recommend it.
MoreWent on the pizza cruise, it was a nice little trip though we didnt go very far down the river. Pizza was from dominos and the beer was from a local brewery.
MoreThis tour was really awesome!!! Nolan, our server, was great, and attentive! The live performance was awesome! Captain Bob was a great steamboat captain and made for a very nice cruise! I loved the experience, and highly recommend! Oh, and the food was really really good, not 5 star, but pretty damned good!
MoreTook the sightseeing tour, very fun experience....if you havent gone yet, you should! Also enjoyed the park while waiting to board the boat and afterwards The steak buffet! Must try this place, all you can eat fresh cooked steak 🥩
MoreExcellent. Well informed about history. Nice seeing the wildlife. Loved seeing the revolving bridge. Very nice tour
MoreI decided to book a last minute 4th of July Dinner Cruise with a view of the fireworks for my husband and I. The dinner was served about 20 minutes after being on the Queen: shrimp and chicken with mashed potatoes, carrots and a dinner roll. You can choose to drink from their bar for extra. Coffee is included in your ticket price. There was only half of a table for my husband and I. Our plates didnt even fit alongside everyone else. They fit one couple too many at our table and one other. Im guessing they wanted to maximize profit on July 4th. We didnt mind much, because we were really there for the fireworks view. After dinner, we rushed up to the top to save our seats for the cruise/fireworks. We picked the back of the boat where theres no canopy. We went to U.S. Lock and Damn #7 and turned around. We then docked around 9:45 p.m. and were allowed to stay up top and have the ULTIMATE view of the fireworks from Pettibone Beach since we were the closest boat allowed. This was fun to tryout, but I cant see us going more than once every few years. The waiters, waitresses, and the musician were all great though. It was a really fun experience.
MoreI am so glad I took my son on one of their site seeing tours. If you are like me, you have seen the La Crosse Queen docked at Riverside many times but never gave a tour much thought. Having lived in the La Crosse area for years, I thought tours were geared more for tourists or older folks. I was wrong. They are for all ages. We had such a great experience. Even tho we we ran out of time to see the lock and dam due to a very long train we were stuck waiting for at the bridge it was still a very fun and relaxing experience. Definitely will be going again in the future.
MoreIt has to be very unique for me to give 5 stars and it really was above unique. First, the staff & crew was top notch and professional. We had the brunch cruise and that was cool but the ships captain was the star. The history heve provides is far from boring. He is so informative with sharp eyes pointing out the wildlife in a seconds notice. The second star of the cruise was the eagles gliding from shore to shore. So worth it just to see those majestic birds. Definately not a boring trip.
MoreWe had a private curse. It was nice. The catered food was good. The boat was clean and the scenery was nice. The only drawback was the boat was a bit loud making conversation difficult.
MoreThe sightseeing cruise made our Lacrosse stay so enjoyable. We took the 11 am morning cruise and the tour host was so knowledgeable providing historic information about the river and area. Our entire family loved staying on the upper level through most of the cruise for the scenery, but you can freely go to the lower level for snacks, restrooms or to get out of the sun for A/C comfort. The paddle wheel was fun to watch. We were pleased to find out they are very safety conscious regarding COVID. They clean and sanitize the entire boat well. We were on a boat that holds many people, but they now keep the capacity to around 65-people. Its a tour you feel safe, fun and informed.
MoreTook the sightseeing cruise today. Was a perfect day to be out on the water. We were able to see a barge go through the swing bridge behind us. Gal that narrated the tour was great, answered everyones questions and then some.
MoreWe had a good time on the 3:30 afternoon pizza cruise. All the beer and soft drinks you wanted, along with some pizza; all on a Mississippi River Paddleboat tour. Beautiful Sandy riverbank scenery with old scenic Bridges and barge traffic.Check-in, boarding and deboarding could be improved.LaCross is a beautiful city with a mix of new and old downtown buildings. The park along the river was just great.
MoreFriday night dinner cruise was perfect! Definitely will bring the family for 2NDs. As long as the weather is decent outside even a bit warmer its worth being upstairs under the canopy vs down below. You sit @ six top table with random folks so we managed to get cool neighbors & we all had a blast. The food was buffet style that you go downstairs & get, totally easy. Food was delicious, chicken and shrimp. Thanks for the great time & memories. See you again!
