they have long waiting list and when they call your name they dont even give you the notice they are suppose to before they give your table away. They say 5 min but it took less than that for them to say we were not there. Even after clearly showing them the message with the time stamp.

Beautiful!The food is amazing!And the prices are fair.I would definitely come here again.I highly recommend “La cafe de olla” and “chocolate abuelita.”

They didn’t take the order right, forgot our sides. Gave us salads instead of fries, the food was cold and soggy. They could’ve done better like they usually do

You already know that this place is insanely good. The food is phenomenal, service is fantastic, and the atmosphere is great. Everything Ive tried has been great - highly recommend the chilaquiles, rompoccino, and sandwiches. (I wasnt personally a huge fan of the smoothie, but my friend loved it, and you may too.WHATEVER YOU DO, make sure you reserve your spot in the line ahead of time, and be prepared to wait a long time - often an hour or more, even with being in the wait list in advance. There isnt room for people to wait inside (as theyve really maximized their space indoors for diningand there isnt seating outside either, so youll be standing or sitting on the sidewalk, which is not covered. This only works in decent weather so things can get complicated in winter. Is it worth the wait? Id say absolutely yes. But you really need to weigh whether its worth it for your whole group - when a group Im with has made this the point of an excursion, its fine, but when Ive been with a group that wanted to drop by between sightseeing locations, after church, etc., it was inevitably frustrating because of the wait time (through no fault of La Catedral!). If you have group members who are older or very young the wait might also prove challenging. This place has become a big deal because they are, quite frankly, awesome, so make special plans to fully enjoy a wonderful meal here.

This little nook is fantastic. The food is always delicious. The staff is friendly. The café de olla is a must here. A bit on the sweet side but so good! Any dish you order will be good. A must-try restaurant.

This place is great. Its welcoming clean the food was great lots to choose from, the service was great. A big variety of breakfast drinks from specialty coffees to shakes and fresh juices. If you dont want to wait for breakfast get there before 830 am. Otherwise be prepared to wait is really that good. Will be back there again.

Horrible service. I went with my family and when we ordered our food we asked our waiter if the food my cousin was ordering was spicy. He said no and we told him she cannot eat spicy because its a health issue and he reassure it wasnt. When she got her food, it was spicy and she could not eat it. When we told the waiter about it he told us, "I cant do anything about it." And we were taken by surprised. We mentioned how we asked him to make sure and he replied with, "Well for me it isnt spicy". Like EXCUSE ME ???? We asked if he can take it back and we order a new item and he said no!!! how is there nothing you can do to accommodate? So terrible. So my cousin didnt even get to eat. Next, on the MENU it says a party of SIX or MORE will have a gratuity charge. Our table of 5 was charged the tip and I mentioned to our waiter about it and he said the computer automatically inputs the charge no matter the party size.This is ridiculous service. Very rude and not accommodating to its customers.

Fantastic and delicious. The best breakfast place around the 26th st area in my opinion. I’d be a regular if I didn’t live 10 hours away.

This place is the best in town! Chilaquiles are the best here, they have the prefect crunch, i dont like them soggy and the rice beans and eggs always taste fresh! The cafe de olla is a must have. I always get the large and whatever I dont finish I ask for a to go cup, Im not wasting that coffee. Heck I heat it up the next morning! The staff is always friendly. Hard to find parking and I probably recommend getting there as soon as they open to get seated right away. I try to make a trip out here at least once a month as I drive from the south suburbs.

The chilaquiles are somehow even better than the hype would have you think. They have lovely specialty drinks, and some delicious cafe de olla. Be sure to join the waitlist online, especially on weekends!

This is definitely a spot you want to visit if you love Mexican breakfast. I had the chilaquiles, with a café de oya. Man did it hit the spot, the portions are generous and the coffee had me ready to get my day started. The service was great and the atmosphere is one of a kind with beautiful religious items throughout the restaurant, theres so much to look at that I even had to order an horchata to drink while I looked at it all. I highly recommend this place and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I havent visited, but a friend brought over coffee and treats. They were so delicious. The cookies were perfect, soft and not too sweet. Im not a coffee drinker, but this was so delicious! The coffee is special. It reminded me of Mexican fruit punch. El ponche de frutas. It was very good. I will check this place out!

Loved the place. We were in Chicago for few days. We wish we couldve eaten there more than once. Our server Jose and the rest of the crew were really nice! Service on point! I recommend this place 100%!! We will be back next time we are in town!! 🤩🤩🤩

The chilaquiles are so good! And the iced coffees and the crepes. I also love that they offer decaf for the iced coffee. Make sure you get on the waitlist before getting there to minimize your wait time. The waitstaff is always very nice and attentive. I really don’t have any complaints.

I have NO idea why this place is popular. I went for the very first time to this place to celebrate someones birthday and this is where they wanted to go. Ugh!The place was crowded and the brunch/lunch menu was super limited. We were given a paper menu and about half of it was all beverages and the other half breakfast items. They had no taco or steak dinners, etc.I am not a breakfast person.If I am going to pay a premium price then I want something substantial to eat.Well I ended up ordering a simple burrito 🌯 (and I mean simpleand the cook could even get that right. All I asked for was that they fill it with beans and chopped steak.Well this must have been too much of a tall order for the cook. When the waitress brought my order the burrito had only meat in it. I asked her where the beans were and she said they were in there. Now there is nothing wrong with my vision and I can plainly see that they werent. She started to argue with me so I opened the burrito up in front of her and asked her to show me where they were. She ended up having egg on her face because they were clearly not there.So then she went back to the cook and had the same argument we had,, insisting that he include them and he made my burrito correctly. So the waitress comes back and conveyed what had transpired between the two of they and you would think that she had a brain between those God given ears of hers and just would have asked for a small scoop of beans but no this did not happen. Instead she looked at me trying to send me a subliminal message as if to say just eat it like that, as if I was the problem. The nerve!!!I was so upset because they turned this into an issue when there should not have been one. So I asked her to go back to the cook and gets some beans and if he didnt want to give her any there was going to be a BIG PROBLEM!No its a matter of principle!Needless to say I received my beans.I will NEVER voluntarily return to the establishment but if I am forced to (only if it is someone I REALLY LOVEI will make sure I ear before I go. I hope this never happens because I never want to see this place again!!!

Not many vegan options. No outside seating during pandemic. Had the enfrijoladas. And Mexican chocolate with almond milk. Would be good if they had vegan cheese for some popular entrees. Not a place I would return to now that Im vegan and plant based. Too crowded when I went before pandemic also.

Food was really good, freshly homemade. Beautiful religious paintings, statuettes, and sculptors decorating the inside, most which are for sale if one desires to purchase the artwork.

Loved the food! It was my first time getting Mexican food breakfast. Its definitely a must go restaurant if youre in Chicago. Our waiter was very informative and he let us try the cafe de olla since we werent sure what to expect. First sip and we were addicted! I ordered the al chipotle chilaquiles which were amazing!

The food was great. I had the Pechuga Rellena. Its a chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and ham topped with chipotle sauce and sour cream. The breaks was seasoned beautyfly. The chipotle sauce added the right amount of spice to the dish and the saltiness of the melted mozzarella tied everything together. I also had Cafe de Olla. That coffee is so good that you can drink it without a creamer.The place looks good. The waiter was polite, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.On a personal note; I think they really over did it with the religious figurines and statues. There are more religious statues here then at the Battican.

The server we had was rude, and disrespectful. Everything started great with the hostess. We order drinks and I order an African mocha to which he asked if I wanted it hot or cold and I said cold. When the boss boy brought the drink to the table he brought a cajeta mocha. I said we thought the drink was for another table because no one had order that. He asked what I had order and went to check with our waiter. When he came back, he informed us that the African mocha was only done hot, and he asked if I wanted to change it to which I said it was okay I would still take it. The waiter came and brought our last drink which was a can coca-cola, and never came back to take our food order. He sat two more tables took their drink order, when to check on two of his other tables , and even took the food order for the last table he has and never came to our table. We Walked to the register to pay for our drinks, and I was able to see the waiter walking behind the register with a smarck on his face after seen us get up and walked towards the register.The women at the register was really nice, and asked if she could do anything to help, but at that point we had we didn’t want to eat there anymore.

Everyone always hyping this restaurant so I decided to dine in. Parking is a struggle however later I found out you can park in the laundry mat across the street. Restaurant was super pack. Had to scan a barcode to make a reservation. Wait time was like 10min. Onces inside its a nice environment. Staff super friendly & attentive. Coffee super fresh & delicious. Chilaquiles con chile asado was a delight full of taste. Spent like $30 for people. Great experience. Definitely recommend it. Planing on coming back to dine in with my family so they can to experience one of the best restaurants in little village

The party I was with waited a long time to be seated but it was Friday.Glad we reserved a spot.The food was great.The staff was courteous and accommodating.They have a parking lot a block away which they validate.

Love it! Their French toast with rice pudding is AMAZING. That is a big compliment from me because I think I make the best French toast (LOL). Staff is super friendly! The wait time is sometimes a bit much, but the food is always always worth it!

Great atmosphere, prices are ok considering everything went up this year 2022 great variety from a regular pancake to a Alambre plate, usually gets busy since the morning, my only complaint is that they dont give you enough cutlery for your plates considering you order a plate and dessert and you only have 1 napkin for your whole meal, besides that food is really good.

Second time visiting this place and I highly recommend their sweet breakfast offerings such as the Strawberry Nutella waffles or French toast. This time I ordered the Alambre omelette which was really hearty and filling.

Obsessed with this place! The coffee is soo good. Horchata is yummy. It’s a busy place so be prepared to wait awhile but once your in the service is fast and friendly. The food is top notch.

From the service to the decor to the food and coffee, this place is BOMB! I lived in Mexico and love spicy food, but the red chilaquiles were so spicy it was hard to get them down. Id say order the green if you arent a fire breathing dragon.

Went for the first time this past Saturday morning at 9.a.m. to catch up with my friends. I ordered chilaquiles, they were ok. Not spicy at all. If you like spicy ask for salsa, they brought us salsa de arbol. Another reason why I only give it a 3 stars is because the music was SO LOUD that we were shouting to each other even though we were at the same table. If I visit again Ill probably will just pick up a cafe de Olla which was delicious.

This Restaurant is Far very Different..located in the Heart of little Village,, Food is EXCELLENT they offer a variety of Food not your typical Mexican like Waffles, Panini, Crepes they offer a little bit of everything,my waiter mention that everyone orders their Chilaquiles,,and their cafe de la olla VERY GOOD...❤️⭐Stars..but come early they have long lines..😃

We have been waiting to come have breakfast here since the city opened back up and well the Cafe de olla is still the best! They chilaquiles with Chile guajillo were delicious my sons pancakes were great but the pico de gallo chilaquiles were kinda not what I expected all in all a great place to have breakfast with the family..

This place is small but the food is good! Do yourself a favor and order crepes de arroz con leche with a cafe de la olla for dessert!!!! I am not a dessert person but these crepes are delicious!

Went in at 8 am on a Saturday and there was already only one table or two available. The chilaquiles are a must! You can ask to leave them a bit crunchy, if you are not a big fan of soggy tortilla. Family and I ordered al guajillo and a la diabla. Both were delicious!! It’s a big portion, so the price is definitely reasonable. A lot of people also go for their homemade coffee, which is also a must for all the coffee lovers. There is a free parking lot on the corner of 26th street and Christiana.

The service is amazing. The decor is fitting for the name. They have been in business for a while. They are famous for the cafe de Holla which was incredibly delicious. The food was traditional Mexican and loved it!! I had an incredible time with my dear friend. I do recommend them. I will return. They get busy try to get in early. The only issue is finding parking but a busy place is always worth it!!

The food is delicious and the decor is beautiful! We were seated upstairs and even the ceiling is painted. If youre going on a weekend make sure to get there early or be ready to wait.

Ehhhhh...ok, so parking maybe a bit hard.. you will need to park east or west on 25th street. The restauranta decor is nice,, but the walls need to be cleaned they are dirty. OK now for the food,, menu is overwhelming. There is alot on the menu,, i had the huevos rancheros not bad, but definitely over priced, for what you get.. Tortillas were cold, service was bland. Your menu is so big, waiter should recommend. They need to work on the service they provide not inviting.

Our 2nd trip back and the food is consistent!! Chilaquiles were once again amazing. My picky daughter wound up eating my leftovers and loved it! We sat under the tent and we were warm. The staff does a great job and they are very attentive. We will be back!!

The staff was very friendly. They have the best spicy chilaquiles. Even though the wait is long, its well worth it. If I could, I would eat there every morning for breakfast. Cant wait to go back.

The decor was nice, atmosphere as well. Coffee was great, the kind that needs no sugar and is black, cafe de olla. The service was not so good they forgot one of my drinks and my order of French toast. Never got the french toast. We also never got the check from the waiter after he served the food, he never checked back with us again. We were seated upstairs so not sure if that may have contributed to the lack of service. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday. I ordered the chilaquiles en tomatados. The taste was not really that good. I would still try this place again they may have had a bad day or a bad server for my first visit.Update from last visit. Last time I gave it 2 stars do to the bad service. 2nd time returning to this Cafe with the bestie. It was great this time around service and all. The food was excellent and the banana shake was tastee!!

Scrumptious natural flavors that are absolutely right. Visited couple if times and Ive never got disappointed on both dishes and treatment. Plates well served, fresh beverages, delicious coffee drinks, fantastic service, and great ambiance with softly-toned music.Flavorful green chicken enchiladas, mole chilaquiles, peach crepes, fried-plantain French toast, Hawaiian panini, and several other beverages can be described as outstanding, way above average restaurants.Only finding a good parking spot would be a down-side but certainly not a negative parameter on this restaurant.

The restaurant is so unique and has such a nice calm vibe. The coffee drinks are AMAZING. They come in giant cups and have fantastic flavor.The food portions are good and taste really good too.

This has got to be one of the better experiences Ive ever had in a restaurant! The food! the ambiance! the service! Absolutely enjoyed every bite! I had the Pollo en salsa de Mango, my cousin had the Enchiladas en Mole, and an Avacado dip for appetizer. For beverages we enjoyed Cafe de Holla and Mexican style Hot Chocolate, absolutely devine! At late morning hours on a Sunday we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Parking is up for grabs (the only downside). Yes, I will definitely be back regularly!

Waited 55 minutes, saw droves of people and families with parties of 6+ go ahead of my friend and I. I have been here many times live down the street. When I asked why the wait was so long I was told that the waitress never properly took my name. We were escorted to the top level there was so much room and empty tables. Extremely bad service! Extremely long wait time. Food is always fresh and good but disappointed with the treatment of customers. Please hire more people!

Great service and friendly place to visit. The decoration is as the name is, with lots of crosses and church statues. Came in Sunday at 1pm and there was plenty of people there and we were 7 in line but it didnt take long before we got seated. Alfredo was our server and got our drinks right away but maybe he is new because it took several times for us to get most of our food. But the food itself was very good so that made up on the whole experience. Will come back. The dishes were not salty like last time.
