High quality ingredients. From all reliable sources, this is the most authentic PR food available in the SJ area. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the food is generally tasteless here and very expensive. It’s high quality and I see why people like it, I’m just looking for more flavor and don’t think PR food is my favorite.

This place was great! Everything we had was fantastic. The soup at the beginning was very nice. I had the corned beef dish and my wife had the cod stew. Both were fantastic. The rice, beans, and avocado were all very nice as well. We really enjoyed the cinnamon on top of the piña colada.

Food is generally ok. The service is terrible. The servants were passing by many times without taking the order. While they were attentive to Spanish speaking customers even who were arrived later than us and other Asian customers. Long wait on the table for ordering and for the check. Not feeling good eating here.

La Casita Blanca - (The White House located in Villa Palmeras Puerto Rico - Santurce PR is a beautifully open space ( house with various rooms adorned with cultural and articles defining the success that this place is. The food is delicious and well portioned for the price point. The overall atmosphere is very laid back. You will enjoy this place. Solid 4⭐️. Would have been solid 5⭐️if they didn’t messed my order up and throw half of the avocado that I was eating out because the manager decided to clear half the table. Good overall service besides the 2 hiccups great place to visit. Closes early.

I was determined to make it here and it did not disappoint. The fish was delicious and the complimentary rum shot with licorice beans was tasty even for a person who hates anything licorice flavored. Definitely a must when in San Juan.

This was our second visit to this restaurant after a couple of years. We had an excellent time during the first visit but today, it was an entirely opposite experience. The food was good but the male waiters were rude and full of attitude and in a terrible rush. I felt it not a restaurant but a canteen. We felt rushed throughout our time at the restaurant. They did not do or say anything to relax their patrons. They spoke loudly to us and instead of helping us understand the menu, they quickly listed the menu items. Did not care at all to help us understand the dishes. It was an entirely different experience today. We had invited our friends for dinner at the restaurant and the brash, rude, male waiters will zero etiquette and manners made the experience extremely embarrassing for us. We will not return to this restaurant again.

This place is a GEM! If you want a local and authentic meal, look no further. The ambiance of the restaurant is fun and vibrant and the service is friendly and quick too. The food was delicious and before our meals the offered a soup and the most incredible fish fritters. (YUM). My friend and I both got the shrimp mofongo and the coconut/fish arepa and ended the meal with the the tres leches cake. You certainly get your moneys worth with the amount of food they give you!

Great service in a super cute converted house - it reminds me of my Nanas place! They dont have a vegetarian option on the menu, but they offered Mofongo or avocado stuffed with vegetables, with a side (the beans have meat, which would normally be my go-to option). The reason for 4 stars is that we had to wait in a line for around 20-30 minutes outside and noone came to check in with us. A simple hello and little update on the wait would have made it a perfect experience.

Just left here maybe it was an off day but review reflects the experience. We came because of the reviews but wish we didn’t after eating here. Mofongo was below average and rice was saggy/ mushy. Service was slow would have loved to have not waited 20 minutes to receive the check. Overall this was not the authentic food experience I was looking for and not worth going out of the way to try.

Ive been going to la Casita Blanca for many years and nursed reviewing them before. VISIT THIS RESTAURANT NOW. All food taste as if your grandma were the one cooking in the back. You get complementary cod fritters and soup upon sitting down and both are delicious. You cant go wrong with any of the selections here. Menu changes often as they cook with seasonal ingredients. Service was fast and friendly, always with a smile. Sometimes the proteins are a tad salty but it balances out with the rest of the meal.

Went to four restaurants back to back. Searching for the flavor of Puerto Rico that I grew up with, fancy restaurants, tourist traps, yet no luck. Came to La Casita Blanca and from the second we stepped in, I can sense I’ve found the place. OMG was I right. Right away we sit and they bring us bacalaitos and soup. Asked for a beer, it was cold. I know, the little things matter to me. The menu was perfect, it had everything I was craving. Specially Carne Guisada. It was instant nirvana. Back to my childhood, in a second. The food was great? Everything, even the rice was great. The service was excellent. Will be back, for sure.

What a GEM 💎 to find in the heart ❤️ of San Juan. The service was fantastic. We were not sitted for more that a few minute and we already had complementary plantain soup 🥣 and bacalaitos brought to the table. The waiter was so kind and helpful. Gave us good recommendations. But honest to God everything was delicious. And I mean everything. We are locals and the place was in fact full of locals. And we know good Puertorrican food. The house’s architecture resembles that of olden times Puertorrican city living, so quaint. We shared a Sangria Pitcher, delicious. The base is Mavi, known as Puertorrican champagne. Not too sweet yet delicious. Everyone on our table went for the Bistec encebollado and it was on point. Very tender and flavorful. You can taste the delicious vinager marinade. I had the aguacate 🥑 with sarmorejo de jueyes with tostones de Panapen and cannot complain. Desserts 🍮 were just as good. Highly recommend the tres leches. All in all great place to get local food for a decent price.

Pro: Love the idea of food in an old little house, chicken soup and bacalaito on the house (both goodalso a zip of rum at the end - nice touchService not quite as expected, I found myrself asking for everything water, utensils, extra plate (asked twice), juice (twiceetc.Food: not impressed, skirt steak was not very tender, and fried potatoes (old fashionedwere not cooked all the way through - $27fish at picture was good however in my opinion overpriced at $45,and pork chunks with mofongo (traditional dishwas just ok not enough to make an statement.

Absolutely amazing! Super charming and chill vibe. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed an incredible lunch! This place was recommended to us from someone we met at dinner one night and we are sooo happy we made it for lunch. Everything is delicious and you MUST get an iced cold glass of Sangria it was so refreshing and packed the perfect punch! 🤣

The food in this place is always excellent. I would say it is one of the best places to eat in Santurce. Parking is in the street and not always easy to find one very close to the location. Service is great and fast. It gets packed in here but you wont have to wait long time before you are seated and welcomed with a bacalaito and/or soup of the day. You cant go wrong with any of their plates; they are all delicious. Also, skip the soda and try the local home made natural fruit juices like Acerola, Guanabana or Jobo.Buen Provecho!

A small local restaurant that I must give a 5 star rating. From the complimentary house soup to the main course, their classic Puerto Rican cuisine is outstanding! It is served by friendly and the most caring servers. I had the chicken fricassee...WOW! My wife had the "Christmas Plate". Delicious! This restaurant is located in Santurce...so get over there and treat yourself and your family to some of the best that Puerto Rico has to offer.

This place is amazing! You much check it our when visiting San Juan! The food is so flavorful, the staff was great! Super informative, great suggestion, friendly and attentive! The mofongo was one of the best I have tried in Puerto Rico, so full of flavor and not too dry or over cooked! The presentation is great and the margaritas are on point! Everything we ordered was amazing! At the end of our meal the waiter brought us complementary shots with coffee beans symbolizing money, health and love! Really makes you feel welcomed ☺

A charming place but the food didn’t impress us and it is pricey. My boyfriend ordered mofongo with shrimp, the shrimps were nicely done but mofongo was a bit dry. I ordered fish fillet which tasted bland and not very fresh. Sangaria was delicious. We also ordered guava flan for desert, which is yummy. We found other restaurants in Puerto Rico which we like much more. So there might be no turning back for us.

Just like Mama’s! Omg - so freeking good! The best meal we had while in PR! So glad we stopped to eat here. It is a bit off the beaten path and for suburban NJ folks the neighborhood felt a bit out of our realm BUT it is the real PR experience not some fake hotel meal! The staff was so friendly and gracious! The little extras such as the after dinner drink with coffee beans - a wonderful touch! We had an early dinner so as to avoid crowds. So worth the trip! I want to try everything on the menu! Thank you for making our trip taste like mamas kitchen!

Went there for Sunday lunch solo and it was busy. Good vibe. Nice music and employees. My food came out within 10 minutes and it was delicious. Enough food to fill the belly. Service was fast (sometimes too fast because they wanted to take away food I hadnt even touched yet). At the end, I got a treat on the house! Be prepared, its a bit pricey - $5 for an extra small side salad and $9 for tres leches which is the same price as a main plate somewhere else.

Based on Google reviews, we knew the food here would be good — but this is EASILY the best Puerto Rican food I’ve had while on the island! We got the corned beef mamposteado and the shrimp mofongo, both with a side of avocado. The food came out quick, everything was super fresh and flavorful, and the service was top notch. Take the Uber and grab lunch on the balcony here - you won’t regret it!

I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant back in 2014. I remember enjoying the experience, so I made this place my first stop as soon as I landed in Puerto Rico. Im glad that is as good as I remember, and doesnt disappoint. The place is located in a barrio with one way streets and limited parking. I wish I wouldve taken more pictures, but I was so hungry after landing, that it slipped my mind. It didnt take long to be seated. The restaurant doesnt have AC, but it is well ventilated. Theres a bell that if you ring it, they give you a free shot of chichaito (rum infused with anisette liqueur). They also start you out with a soup before they bring the menu. Im not a soup person, but that was good.I believe the menu changes either on a weekly or daily basis. They bring a white board with the menu written with markers. I got the mamposteao de cornedbeef al caballo, which the best way I can describe it is as moist yellow rice with beans, stewed corned beef with yellow plantain bits, and an egg on top. That was amazingly delicious and flavorful. So much so that I kept trying to save it because I didnt want to get too full, but I was unable to help myself and ended up eating the whole thing. I did get a side of avocado on the side, which I ended up mixing with my dish, and it made even better. My aunt had mofongo (green plantain mashstuffed with shrimp. She said it was really good too. My uncle had arroz guisado (yellow rice with beanscon pernil al cardero (pork on a cauldron?), and he too ate the whole thing, so we were all very satisfied.I highly recommend this place if youre looking to taste some traditional dishes from the island. Im so glad the place is as good as I remember, and cant wait to come back on my next visit to Puerto Rico. This place is a hidden gem.

Home cooked Puerto Rican dishes. It is delicious and reasonable price. It is a bit out of the way but Uber ride is convenient. Friskase de pollo was very good as well as crab.Tres leches is also good but too rich fir me. They provide complimentary little cup of soup and crispy fried bacalao.

The little white house on the corner has the look and feel of your grandmas place with the artifacts from the 40s to boot. The tables are covered in plastic tablecloths, the rough hewn chairs let you know youre in for some classic, youre gonna need a nap, oh so good Puerto Rican meals. The place is popular which is to its credit and detriment. Parking is unpleasant. Theres sometimes a wait for larger parties and solo diners. The service is good. COVID precautions are observed by all staff and patrons are encouraged to remain masked until actively dining. Its difficult to tell if the tables are fewer for social distancing but the place remains busy until closing. The daily updated menu boards are brought to the table instead of paper menus or high touch surfaces like tablets. All the foods on the homestyle Puerto Rican menu are delicious. Take out is available. Credit cards are accepted and the sanitized remote device brought to your table for a secure transaction.

The service is fast and nice. The menu is in Spanish but the staff there are good at English and it was just fine. I got the bifecta ensallado I think, or something close and it was nice and huge. Portion sizes are unreal and the flavor is fantastic. In the other picture that is flan. Which is different here because I have never had flan served with oranges until this place. Then to wrap up my meal they gave me a free shot. FREE SHOT OF ALCOHOL. I dont know anything else that would sell em more than the food and free shot. Give it a try if you can.

LA Casita Blanca is a wonderful place inside a home in Santurce Puerto Rico. The food is amazing and you are served their platain soup for an appetizer. There is actually a tree in the middle of the dining room. Who knew? Service was great and the waiter spoke English. Absolutely awesome when trying to navigate the menu.
