8216 Grover St, Omaha, NE 68124, United States, Omaha
Offshoot of a local pizza institution serving simple Neapolitan-style pies, pasta & appetizers.
It has been almost 20 years since I have dined at the Grover street location, considering we grew up in the area it was a regular pizza stop. Went tonight because they were donating 10% to St. Joan of Arc school. Ordered our usual hamburger and onion pizza and a basket of hand cut fries. Everything was great...and hot! This is a really well run place and while it isnt exactly low cost, its worth every penny. My aunt and uncle had the LA Casa in Venice NE when we were young and we went out there quite a bit to hang out with our cousins...and eat pizza!
Tasted great! Staff was friendly!
Pizza was good and hot when we received it. Service was also very good
Lacassa pizza is good but they are getting to pricey.
Had the hamburger 4 corners lunch combo. It was good, but not as great as the hype.
Always delicious! Great service too!
Been solid since I was a kid. Love this place.
When I crave Thin Crust Pizza, La Casa is my go to. I love coming to this location they serve all their food on trays and the inside has a super retro feel. The Pizza itself is great, the crust is thin and crispy, but not too crispy where it breaks into pieces when you take a bite. This is also one of (if not the onlypizza places in town that doesn’t offer Parmesan cheese, instead they offer Romano cheese.
A bit disappointing today. Everything has shrunk in size...but whats new.
Kind of a retro style pizzeria with plastic trays and an 80s 90s feel. All the staff were super nice and friendly. The pizza was just alright. Nothing really special especially for the price.
spent 40 for a pizza served on a lunchroom tray. Didnt taste good and was pretty small. Kids took one bite and refused to eat it.
What is there to say its la casa cant say nothing bad been awesome everytime without a hickup
Best pizza in the city imo
Tuesday at 7 pm. There was a group of 11 people, no other customers, it was a slow night. Outside of the restaurant was simple, clean. We were greeted quickly by a friendly person. The bathroom was clean, well stocked.Sitting near the front of the building, we could see our food being made. The only person wearing gloves was the guy with the pizza paddle. The guy taking the cheese bread and putting it on plate was not wearing gloves, wiped his hands on his apron as he was handling the food. The salad was made by a different person, he was also not wearing gloves, wasnt using tongs and also wiping his hands on his apron. While making the salad he put a bunch of lettuce on the plate and then picked through it, pulling several pieces out before adding toppings. The person who made the salad then moved to making onion rings. At no time did I see anyone stop to wash their hands. The salad that was was not fresh tasting. The lettuce tasted as it it was old, this explains why he was picking through it when it was being made. The ravioli was bland, clearly previously frozen but the sauce was very good. The pizza came out hot, the edges were somewhat burned. The crust was very thin, had no flavor. There was little cheese or any other toppings. We had 1 or less pieces of pizza each, left most of it untouched. The best part of going to this restaurant was leaving. A couple of frozen pizzas would have been better (and more sanitary). We stopped for hamburgers on the way home.
I picked La Casa because everyone said it was good pizza. So for my birthday decided to order it. Ordered 2 pizzas. 1st one was terrific. 2nd one vrust was raw. > Extremely!!!
Love La Casa! My family and I have been making memories here for years! The Hamburger Pizza is always our go to! The staff is always friendly and the food is true authentic Italian!
Always amazing! Favorite pizza for over 35 years of my life, its our family favorite!!! Its my sister and Is tradition to eat a piece before getting home, this is a family thing from the past(dont mean much to most but to us its a tradition lol).
Love the classic hamburger...perfect crust, excellent seasoning and the best creamy Romano dressing.
Always good…especially when you get it to go for an impromptu lunch date…that you can eat in the car, before you get home. 😁
I was introduced to La Casa in 1990 by a guy who sat opposite from me in our work cubicle. Twice a week I would sit and drool from the aroma. Finally I gave in and started my own journey. I was told to order mozzarella otherwise pizzas came with Romano cheese.Ever since then its been a pizza love affair. Ive tried most pizzas around Omaha, and none really compare. If I had to rate, La Casa would be #1 above Johnny Sortinos and Big Freds.I started out going to the original restaurant with the great atmosphere on Leavenworth, then choosing the Grover street restaurant so I could pickup orders on the drive home. Ive not been to the new West location, Im happy with Grover street. The staff is always friendly even though they work their butts off all day long in a hot kitchen. The food is always great, especially the fried ravioli. They dont take credit/debit cards, use cash or a check.I always buy a 2nd large hamburger pizza for the freezer. It reheats easily and I can have it any time. Now Im hungry for a pizza!
I ordered a gluten free meat special pizza for lunch today and it is amazing! the crust is cooked perfectly (most places burn itand it is loaded with toppings. I highly recommend, especially for diets that require gluten free.
worst pizza ever - threw it out - it was like they used only parmesan - way too salty and greasy - inedible.
All of a sudden the La Casa meatballs are smaller!!! Seem to be about 2/3 of the normal size. I have been getting spaghetti and meatballs here for over 10 years. I am disappointed to say the least. I thought LA Casa had integrity.
Best pizza in Omaha. Great balance of cheeses, the tomato sauce is very good. Always hot and fresh. Workers have a great attitude and friendly toward the people coming in and out, makes you want to come back.
Absolutely delicious veggie pizza, yummy! This was my first time to eat here but it wont be my last!
First time over there. The people are very nice and the food good. Only con: they are a little pricey
Just picture-perfect thin crust unlike any other, and the customer service isnt lacking either.Ive had a majority of the pizzas this town has to offer over the years. La Casa is still the best. I was raised on the one on Leavenworth but had to order from here because the other one was closed for maintenance. Just as good if not better. They made the wrong pizza so I had to wait extra, so they knocked some of my bill off as well.
Love this pizza! One of my favorites! The classic hamburger is the best!Only reason Im not giving a 5 star is because the grover street location NEEDS online ordering!! Whats the holdup?! I need my LA casa fix!! Haha!
I’m not sure if our pizza was suppose to be cardboard thin but it was. The pepperoni and sausage were tasteless. My 17 year old son said it was the worst pizza he has had and would have rather had Jacks frozen pizza. Why the pizza dripped of pure grease I’m not sure. I think ours was a tad over cooked. I would never eat here again. Overpriced also. Gross.
This will be a go-to place every time I come to Omaha. Our pizza was loaded with flavor. Perfectly cooked. Awesome customer service! Coming from a very "choosy" person, I have not had a better pizza.
This is one of the best places for pizza in my opinion. Great quality food and stellar service from employees that have been there forever. If you like a thin crust pizza this is the best place to go!!
La Casa has been a family favorite for decades.
Very tasty Omaha only pizza shop.
Honestly i think people just say they like this place because of how long theyve been around. Pizza is completely out dated, sauce needs salt, sugar just seasoning all around. The crust has a dark thin cardboard look to it, seriously the pizza doesnt even look appealing. It is extremely greasy for how little was on it and im really trying to understand how they charge what they do. Being as chef of 10 years, i imagine their pizza cost roughly $3 to make and they charge over 20. They are ripping people off and the pizza is served on an elementary school lunch tray. If you really truly 100% like this pizza then im sorry you have the palate that you do.
Food hot, fresh and the lasagna awesome full of flavor and not over doing the seasoning. Wait time was fast about 15 min from order to served.
Whats not to love about La Casas! From their oh so yummy garlic bread, to their toasted Ravioli, salad, and of course their pizza pie! Be sure to ask for both Chelseas on your pizza! And they have premade pizza, take home and bake!
My favorite pizza in omaha but ridiculously priced especially if you want hamburger on it. For some reason they charge 3x the price of any other going addition. Ill still go back but not very often. It hurts paying over $20 for a "large" pizza thats about the size of a small Mammas pizza. Can only afford to go there once every 3 or 5 months.
Its ok way too much Parmesan cheese on there pizza there are other pizza places i like better but the Spaghetti my kid loves it
Ive been eating La Casa pizza since I was a child. It isnt your usual pizza. But its so good. I order it with just mozzarella cheese (not mozzarella & Romano& I like it "a little extra crispy." I get take out, especially during Covid. When placing my order on the phone, I asked if they bring it out to the car ( I recently had surgery)The staff are very nice. He said "sure, they could do that." I believe the "dine in" at this 84th street restaurant is open as well. The main restaurant is up on Leavenworth east of Saddle Creek. This restaurant has a larger menu. Both are great. Just look for the little capped Italian playing the mandolin.
For several years all I had to do is cross the street to get La Casa pizza. I moved back to Denver and they advised my best friend on the best way to send me their pizza. Yup, its that good! Its so good to be back to Omaha and access to La Casa pizza.
This is the best pizza in Omaha. A staple of the area for years because of the quality of their food and caring staff. Their classic hamburger pizza is a must but also try the mostaccioli with meatballs as well as the toasted ravioli which are equally amazing. There are a couple of locations but West is the best.
The pizza was good but they are kind of expensive. For a small veggie pizza and 1 glass of pop it was almost $20. And that was without the tip. I probably wouldnt go back. Ive heard that the one on Leavenworth is the best one. Maybe Ill try that one sometime. Im sure the prices are the same, tho.
We have a yummy pizza and cheese bread here. Always always consistent which keeps us making the 20 minute drive to pick it up even though we have a location closer (pacific springs-steer clearBeen ordering the same pizza for two years....LA PIZZA ROSSA 😋 and it’s heavenly. I understand reviews that say it’s pricey because it does cost more than your favorite local Dominos 🙄🙄but it’s a homemade pizza. Fresh cheese. Fresh ingredients. Homemade dough. Simple authentic Neapolitan sauce. And then they go and make that pizza with LOVE K? They don’t go and take your pizza out of the freezer and toss it in the oven. It’s not overpriced. It is priced what it’s worth. Ahhhh. Think I want another La Casa run.
Amazing as always!! First dinner of my birthday month!
Tony was wonderful to work with for a catering order for 60 people. So pleasant to work with and incredibly helpful! Brought cooler for salads and warmers for pizza which made feeding 60 people pizzas and salads so easy. Tastes amazing and was a huge hit.
Slow for having no one there, over priced for the lunch special, and tasted like it was cooked on a cracker rather the dough. Sad. Everyone I have talked to loves the place. So many better places for get pizza. Sorry La Casa for the harsh review, but that was plain not good.
Great environment, not great pizza! We ordered two different pizzas and spaghetti w/meatballs. After waiting around 30 minutes both the pizzas were burnt with little to no sauce. Lucky the spaghetti and meatballs were great so the kids had something to eat. There are better places to drop $60 for dinner.
Not sure what all the hype is about this pizza! Ordered 2 pizzas and a side salad. First order was wrong (after waiting 45 minutes). Waited 55 minutes more. One of the next 2 pizzas was not what I ordered (they said they didnt have the one I ordered but this one was similar. WRONG! not even close. The salad is wilted lettuce with brown spots and one pepper. Wrong salad dressing. Very pricey for what you get. Wont be going back there again!!
Pizza wasnt anything amazing. Heard a lot of hype and was pretty disappointed by the actual thing. The "ambiance" of the restaurant itself was also super lacking and disappointing. I wouldnt call it dirty, but definitely not clean and pretty. There are definitely better places in Omaha to get a slice of pizza with a better atmosphere.
Went on a Friday, the place was packed and the smells coming from this place were amazing. Service was quick and extremely friendly. However the pizza and ravioli bites we ordered were all around just bland and not at all what I expected. I’m wondering if this is more of a “I grew up on it” nostalgic place. Because I can say that I just didn’t get the appeal. Again perhaps it was what we ordered but the complete lack of flavor was a shock. Again the place smelled phenomenal and it was hopping.
