Homey, family-run Mexican choice for typical fare plus unusual dishes (moles, chiles) & margaritas.
Love this place! 90 minute drive from home. Best mole enchiladas 😋
service is hit or miss, homemade chips are amazing, but everything else was EXTREMELY BLAND. just some kind of seasoning in the food would make a massive difference. rice and beans are decent. it’s also pretty cramped inside.
Cant get enough of this place. Nothing on the menu disappoints 🥰🥰🥰
Always a great place excellent food. Great friendly serviceSalsa great. Chile relleno love it
I like this place. The service is great and the food is even better. Typical Mexican dishes and cuisine. All well done and authentic. Very good drinks and beer. Nice cozy atmosphere. Easy parking.
Truly authentic Mexican food. Great service. Love the chiles en nogada: sweet, a bit spicy and creamy. They taste like Christmas. I want to eat there every weekend. Definately my favorite mexican restaurant in LA.
Great service and sweet men. Food was good and tasty.
Excellent Mexican food in a colourful restaurant. A full menu with prices reasonable and staff efficient.
Cabanita is a little slice of authentic cuisine here in glendale. The staff are all welcoming and great and whether you dine in or take out we have never been disappointed. Some of our favorites.- caldo de polloChuletasMicheladas preparadasPepino MargaritaEnchiladas de moleCarnitasTacos de pastorWe probably eat here at least twice a month and keep coming back for more.
This is the best Mexican restaurant!!
Ive been going to La Cabanita on and off for 20 years. (I live far from them)The food is great! Ive always ordered the Chiles En Nogada. Meat, nuts and fruit stuffed Chile with a pecan cream sauce, Served with rice, smashed black beans topped eith cotija cheese and handmade corn tortillas on the side. No other Mexican restaurant has this dish! Best chips with 2 home made salsas served from the start. Can gonwrong here! Its a must try!
I go here every time I’m visiting my parents. It’s such good food, great vibes, and amazing margaritas.
This is our go to local restaurant for an authentic Mexican breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a varied menu so theres something for everyones palate. Ive always experienced great service and the ability to make reservations or join the wait-list on Yelp makes it easy to keep coming back to try different items on the menu.
Service was excellent. Ambience was not bad. The food was very mediocre, though. Their cucumber jalapeño margarita was not so refreshing—just spicy! And, their quesadilla with chicken was salty. But, their street tacos were decent.
Hadnt been in some time. Use to love it. Everything was very salty. Couldnt eat it. Same for my friends. She took some home. I left mine. They had no comment.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight! The servers were friendly, attentive, and remembered the little details of our orders. Wide selection of items on their menu, including classic items and dishes that are not found on most menus, like mole. The kids and parents were all happy with their meals. Adults enjoyed their margaritas. It seems that they have yummy options for breakfast and lunch, too.You can hop on the waitlist via Yelp. There is seating for small and large parties. Be sure to visit this neighborhood gem!
Great food. Best Salsa Verde Ive ever had.
I loved everything about this place!! The service was great and they were extremely friendly, they made me feel extremely welcome. Their tacos were next level! The tortillas were on point and so was the meat. Oh and their salsa verde was dreamy. Definitely going back!
Not living in the area, I really miss La Cabanita. It used to be my go to Mexican restaurant every couple of weeks. So good and so fresh. I was in the area last Saturday and didnt hesitate to stop by and have a late lunch. Did not disappoint the one bit. So good!
The service was absolutely amazing! Minutes after we ordered drinks and appetizers the servers were bringing them to our table. The Nachos were so yummy. They put beans, cheese and jalapeños on each chip individually! Love that they offer both red and green sauce with the bowl of chips when you arrive. Our entrees were hot, fresh and very tasty. I highly recommend this hidden gem.
Ive been eating here since I was little and it has always been one of my favorite restaurants! The service is always great, the food is delicious, and it has pleasant decor. It is definitely worth checking out! Great lunch specials too!
Never again, the place has nice decorations thats the only positive thing I can say about this place, now for the negative side, a group of my co-workers and I decided to visit this place for lunch, now I dont know what the waiters problem was but he had a bad attitude when he sat us down took our order serve us our food and after that he never came back to check up on us to see if we need refills or anything else to drink, we had to flag down a waitress just to order beers and waters and when it arrived all the waters had floaters inside, the food has no taste and the salsa is not spicy at all taste more like salt.
Super delicious! I ordered the black bean dipped chicken enchiladas and they were oh so yummy. It’s VERY cold in there, so bring a jacket.
Food is so damn good i almost cried hahaComing from a latina herself the food is legit fire!Real Mexicans running the place too i love it❤️
ordered an asada plate to go 25 dollars pretty big bag opened it got a big chip bag 2 hotsauce got a 2 small sided styrofoam plate got a big steak everything was delicious worth the money but i opened the tortilla pack there was only 2 of them made 2 fat tacos and struggled to eat the rest with chipss it was horribleee
Wonderful variety of flavors. Interesting mixture of ingredients. Great service. Return customer.
Great food and nice waitstaff, but they never answer their phone for some reason. Ive tried calling to order food and had nobody pick up at least 5 times. Just makes me take my business elsewhere each time they ignore their phone.
Great experience. All the food was delicious; cute setting and ambience; service was great. I had the albondigas which were fantastic especially if you like a little spiciness and the portions were fairly generous as well. Very pleased and hope to go back again.
A neighborhood gem. The margaritas are strong and tasty; chili rellenos are good and the red sauce has a hint of cinnamon. The two table salsas are excellent. Consistently very good.
Excellent food. Excellent service.
I went in for a burrito for take out before lunch and it was delicious, next time Ill be dining in because the restaurant is beautiful it is decorated very nice. Cant wait to go in for dinner and drink some margaritas
Great food!! Great service. Highly recommend.
The best chicken mole! Ive tried both the green and brown sauce and theyre both delicious! Great service!!! Very friendly and accommodating!
Excellent and unique Mexican Restaurant with delectable offerings Hommade tortillas
Food is outstanding. Absolutely excellent. Service is decent. Definitely not doting, but not totally absent either. To be honest, I would have rated this overall as a 4.5 if that was possible as the service could be better to match the quality of the food. Speaking of which, back to the food. The homemade chips are crisp and light and are usually accompanied by a salsa verde that is floral with cilantro and with a light tinge of heat. Another salsa seems to be Chipotle based and has that characteristic smokey flavor. Might be poblano instead of Chipotle. I dunno. All I can say for sure, is that it is really very good. For main courses, we have had the Carnitas La Cabanita, the tamales with mole and with salsa verde, the flautas, the Carne asada wet burrito, the pasole, the chicken enchiladas with salsa verde and various combinations. All have been excellent. The rice is light and fluffy. The black beans are rich and have a unique heat and subtle sweetness. The charro beans are smokey and cilantroey and subtle sweet and speckled with chunks of bacon. The handmade corn tortillas make us feel like we were eating at my kids Abuelas house. We prefer take out, but the ambience of the restaraunt is nice with tile covered tables and bright colors throughout. All in all it is a fantastic place that we hope to enjoy for years to come.
Have not decided whether or not to come back yet, but I will say this; If youre Mexican and looking for authentic Mexican food, it might be a better idea to cook at home. For this visit we had the enchiladas rancheras and the Enchiladas Poblanas. The rancheras (with cheese insidewere very bland, the sauce was ridiculously mild and tasted like it might have come from a can. Same for the Poblanas, the chicken inside was bland except for the sauce, that was actually alright.I was starving so I managed to finish off most of the rice and some of the beans that came with the enchiladas but that was it.Like I said, might come back to give this place another shot, maybe they have better plates.Very over priced for the quality.
This place is good for drinks and your mexican food fix for the quiet and quaint area. Food is good, not huge portions but enough to fill you up with the house chips and salsa. My wife orders the pork posole, i tend to order the combo plate. Overall decent spot to try.
I took my friend here for lunch for her birthday on a Sunday. She had the vegan tacos and I had the chicken enchiladas verdes. The food and margaritas are great. The staff was friendly and provided good customer service.
Absolutely delicious Mexican cuisine! We are born and raised in Puebla, Mexico and we approve of La Cabanita seasoning and flavor and flair! LOVED THIS FOOD! 💝
Loved it here so much! The food was so lovely and the portions were very good. Really cozy atmosphere and all servers we had a chance to interact with were really nice and helpful. Highly recommend this place!
I literally never write reviews but this place is great. The black beans are great, Spanish rice is wicked and the tamales... Dont even get me started. They are like little pork filled corn cakes with tomato sauce icing. So good. I will be back, cant wait to try something else delish.
Very good food, curbside pick-up and seating inside.miss good Mexican food living in Virginia so when I am back visiting I try different places and this one was great.Everything made/cooked on-site, and the staff was very helpful but not intrusive. If I am back this way, I am stopping in, if for nothing more than the hand-made tortillas.
Delicious food and nice service... Dont miss the murals inside.
I always come here after a hike for dinner. Always good.
this place is awesome its more on the Cuban food side more so than Mexican food but the quality of food is fantastic and the service is good it tends to be crowded so there will be a short wait but trust me the food makes it worth it
I believe it is the personnel what makes the world go around anywhere. At La Cabanita fellow servers , bar tenders and cooks are key pieces of the great ambiance and very good food. Definetely going back. Anyone who knows anything about Mexico City will be amused with the murals. We wondered who painted them. Good memory lane job :)
A friend who had grown up eating at La Cabanita invited us to come and try it, as it’s one of her favorites. It definitely did not disappoint. Their margaritas are delicious and their food is even better. The chips and salsa are fresh and appetizing. I ordered the green enchiladas and they were extremely flavorful and did not disappoint. The price was high for the food, but the taste and portions are great!
Nice family restraunt.....food was great.... service was a bit strange as our waitress left mid meal without any explanation. We had to fend for ourselves with asking other staff for chips, drinks and the check.
This place knows what they are doing. Do they have a little old grandma back there making the food? Im glad they arent closer because I would be here all of the time. They have ruined Mexican food at other places.Food was fresh, well seasoned, and they used the right kind of cheese on their dishes. I am in love with their salsas. They bring chips and two different salsas to your table while you wait and they were amazing. They have vegetarian and vegan options that are tasty, like a black bean taco on a made from-scratch tortilla. I had the chilaquiles at breakfast time with a fried egg on top. Their sauce is definitely homemade and was delicious. The portions were generous and I left completely satisfied. The servers were great and attentive, my husband said one of the servers is the owners son. I think our other server was the daughter. They have family pride of ownership and it shows. I highly recommend coming here. Now whenever I get a craving for Authentic Mexican food, I think of this place first. The prices were right too, you get what you pay for, quality, freshness, and great service.
Great little spot in la Canada for a little more well executed Mexican fare.. Ive also got a good buzz most of the times Ive been from the strong drinks
