This is a must when visiting Old Havana. You should at least stand in the door and look. That is what I did. It is usually crowded and I dont like drinking in a crowded place. The bar space is very limited. The mojitos are said to be the best in Cuba.

The most famous bar in Havana. This is the place where the Mojito was invented and is definitely a must for tourists. The bar has live cuban music so you can enjoy a drink or smoke a cigar. However, I truly believe this bar has more fame than anything else; I ordered about 4 mojitos but found all of them to be tasteless or poorly made. I had much better ones in El Floridita. Besides, just like anywhere else in Cuba, the singer from the bar would harass us for tips every 5m which was kind of annoying. With that said, you should still stop by and have at least one drink to get to know this bar.

The location is Mexico is so much better, live music here is great don’t get me wrong. But the restaurant side of the place is awful. Our pushy waiter kept rushing us to order and came back every 3 minutes to ask what we want. He even grabbed my phone and zoomed in the menu for me to read it. The food itself was not bad an prices were okay for a touristy place, however the waiter added a “necessary tip” onto the meal. He had not written it on the receipt and said the money we owe him wasn’t enough bc they charge a mandatory tip. Sad to know that this place is not free of scammers either.

Great place to meet new people, dance and take a mojito or to. Good food. Cuban music live.

Famous place because Hemingway usually go there to have refreshing mojito. Very simple but in the same time you can feel spirit of old Cuba. Often they have live music and atmosphere whit them is unbelievable. Barmen is super nice and professional.

Bodeguita! Music live and fine mojito. In and out, prob you spend no more than 30min there.

The Bodeguita is the Bodeguita and the mojitos remain the best in the world. There was a time when a mojito was almost unknown outside Cuba but the competition from bars worldwide has not dimmed the brilliance of the barmen here.It was surprisingly empty (post-Covid tourists havent come back yetand we got a table with no trouble. The pork and black beans were delicious, but unfortunately there was nothing else to drink except mojito or water.Service was great and friendly and no doubt with the return of the normal numbers of tourists it will be restored to the happy, bustling place we know and love.

The so called famous mojito is pure soda and it costs 5 euros. Its historical but it doesnt really worth it

What a place!!! The ambience is just the best. Mojitos are super good and you have live music every day. In my opinion is one of the best bars in Havana. You can also eat and it has a 2nd floor where you can also Have a good mojito or another drink. If you pay a little extra you can choose different rums for your mojitos. The bar area is a bit small but its great if you want to meet interesting people.

A lovely little bar in Havana, Cuba. Enjoy cocktails and hang out with locals though it’s mostly frequented by tourists. It’s said the mojito was invented here. I love that you can write your piece of history on the walls.

Visited in November 2019 while all of the Americas, it seemed, were in town to celebrate Havanas 500th anniversary. Consequently, the place was packed. No problemo; we partied in the street out front! Great band, and the bartenders somehow kept up with the neverending mojito orders.

Tourist trap as expected... Nothing special.If you after awesome mojito/ drinks, go toJesús María, La Habana, Cubaor even better El de Enfrente, OReilly, La Habana - get Bloody Mary with octopus garnish :)

Very trendy place, to my eyes little bit ovepriced. But one of Havana must see places. I would consider what day time to visit bar, in my case bar as full(late lunch 15.30), but almost empty at 16.30. I guess that quality of service would be different, based on occupancy.

Got there with a guided tour. The atmosphere and staff are really authentic and amazingly nice. It is a time travel back to the 60s. The food was also good, while not extraordinary.

A must do whilst in Havana. The bar has a great atmosphere with plenty of mojitos going around and live music. A great place to stop by and have a few drinks. We also ate here for dinner but didnt enjoy that so much.

Nice place to stop by and have a few drinks. Wide food menu. Prices are slightly high because it is a pretty touristic place. Service and ambiance are good, and the decor features a lot of Cuban memorabilia. There is often live music going on.

I want and I must make tourist aware about two biggest mistakes or wrong doing from this place. The biggest one is that the ice that they put on the drinks are from tap water, which it leads get some parasites in your stomach since the water in Cuba is not as process as ours. Two they should use angostura bitters. My brother and I spent few days with diarrhea after been here. Plus everybody gets crazy on the first floor when you have a nice bar on the second floor.

A must visit when in Havana. One of the most historical places in the city. Obviously, the buzz around the venue is used by the owners to increase a bit the prices but it is still worth the experience. 6€ for a mojito. Permanently packed with tourists and local people playing guitar and singing. Good place as well to buy some souvenirs, cigars and memorabilia on the store of the bar. Good prices when compared to official stores of the government.

The Mojito first created here. I asked for another cocktail and they laughed! The bar was full, so I stayed outside, on the street and hang out with many tourists who were there and with locals, pulling tricks for a tip.

Seems everything is done for tourists.But!Noce cosy plase with its own aura.Mojito at his place is not the best one but it is OK to make a short break and to taste this coctail.

La Bodeguita del Medio, the famous venue in Havana, Cuba.The place where Ernest Hemingway used to have dinner, as per the locals, as this was one of his favourite barsThe venue is located on a busy pedestrian road in the heart of Havanas old town.The places is cleaner than the average Cuban restaurants, but do not expect 5 stars :)They call it "The birthplace of the Mojito" as the legend says this cocktail was invented in this very bar.Beverage selection is the same as all over Havana, but the main focus is, of course, on the Mojito.There is a framed quote which is supposed to be Hemmingways and it says: "My mojito in la Bodeguita, my daiquiri in El Floridita".Dining wise, you can get the same dishes around the city, maybe the spices are a little bit different or in a different quantity, but for myself, the food tasted the same all over the place.El Floridita takes reservation as it is a tourist attraction, but you can force your luck and try a walk-in approach, at least you will be able to get yourself a drink if cannot be seated for dinner/lunch.If you will be going in as part of an organised tour, you will not have to worry about making a reservation as this will be made for you.Usually there is a nice live band singing (at the top floor when we were thereand of course, like in any other Cuban place, you are expected to give tips to everybody and you can buy CDs with a couple of songs form the live band.Unlike other places, there was no need to pay to go to the toilet as there was nobody by the door...or maybe we were just in luck :).All in all, it is a nice place with writings all over the place...and I mean all over the place; it feels like going back in time and it is a nice feeling.

It is worth a look simply if you want to see a bit of history as evident by the graffiti and memorabilia. While it is typically packed with camera toting tourists they do serve a good mojito and can have a good atmosphere. The live bands are wonderful. Most people just stay outside and listen to the music, its electrifying.

This is one of the most touristic spot in Havana. Yes it is a tourist trap, yes it is expensive, of course it is always crowded but still it is a must go place in Havana! One of the best mojito in town. It is Hemingway’s favourite location on this end of the town. Walls are full of autographs from Salvador Allende, Fidel Castro, Harry Belafonte, Nat King Cole. Atmosphere is cool. Try to get a seat on the bar and enjoy your moment.

Probably one of the most atmospheric bars in Havana. Tasty food and cocktails, good music. Its definitely worth a visit.

Great Havana experience! Band was awesome. Even serving a large excursion group food was delicious and the "drink" Mojito was of course wonderful!

A Havana Classic. Even though its no secret and you can tell how popular this place is, it did not disappoint. Went multiple times during my stay in Havana and the service is quick and very friendly. It is amazing how a bar runs just serving one single drink all day and remains busy all day. Great spot to take a break from walking through the city and listen to some classic salsa hits played by the many different groups of musiviand stopping at the bar.

We land there in the morning and was a party already! Very nice atmosphere. You can see on La Bodeguitas wall autographs from Salvador Allende, Fidel Castro, Nicolás Guillén, Harry Belafonte, Nat King Cole, of course Hernest Heminway and much more! The mojitos are overprices of course, but you pay not only for the mojitos, also for the history that involves this place! A must see place so put it on your bucket list!!! :)

This place is not worth eating at as the food is sub par. If I were to visit Havana again I would definitely not eat here. From speaking with some of the locals the food here hasnt been good for all over a decade.

This is an almost must visit place if you follow Hemingway path - my mojito in La Bodeguita... but it does get crowded... and there is a good reason for this... mojito as it should be

Another hotspot in Havana. Packed with tourists because of its history. The bar has very few bar stools so be prepared to stand outside with your drink. Managed to get a seat from a local who offered which was nice, but later on discovered that he was wanting a free drink out of it. Its known for the mojitos which to me was only so-so. Unlike El Floridita however, the mojitos are not overpriced. They always have a lively band playing and you can hear it at the end of the block. Didnt come here for food but will do so next time Im in Havana.

Its hard not to be crammed in a bar this small but its soooooo worth it!! The locals, the music, the dancing, the fresh Mojitos!! If you dont stop here for at least one Mojito your trip wont be complete, Im not a fan of crowds, but this one was different!! Push your way up to the bar and enjoy a drink and some great music!!

Go for the cortados, mojitos, and history. And if you decide to eat then just take it as an adventure and enjoy. Dont expect first world grade and be all disappointed. In a country where people still receive rations, this is pretty darn good. The place is charming, service is great and very friendly. Its a very popular spot. but they wont rush you out to turn tables. Walls are covered in notes and drawings; a visual feast. And oh ya... that drunk rascal Ernest Hemingway apparently frequented. They have a mural of him behind the bar. Its a treat to visit Cuba and see things stuck in time but not; the juxtaposition is fascinating and everywhere you look. So sit back, throw back a few mojitos, enjoy the moment and time you are in!

World famous for its cocktails especially Mojitos! Small place with lots of character and history. One of Hemmingways water holes offering good service and good drinks.

Have to stop here for the famous mojitos! I love the rice and plantains although the pork was a little drier than I would prefer. Definitely stop by for the experience. Music and drinks on two levels

I believe anyone who is visiting Havana would make a stop here given the history behind it. Every time I passed it and then when I eventually visited it, it was always packed and crowded. I loved the ambiance, decor, the nostalgia and the feeling this place evoked. The music that was played during our visit was great. But the food was disappointing. I had the shrimp dish. The shrimp were large in quantity but lacked flavor and was under cooked. But from my friends I heard that the pork dish was amazing. They also didnt have all the drinks that were on the menu. Overall a place that I will visit to just tick it off a must do list. But thats about it. Doesnt warrant a return unless its for a quick Mojito break!

This was a fantastic wee bar and the mojitos were just incredible!Its a very busy bar so you may have to wait to get in but its worth it. As small as it was, they still managed to fit a band in to play music while you drink.Every nook and cranny was covered in messages written by customers and it was almost impossible to find a spot to write our names.The food wasnt anything to write home about but if youre in the area, get in there for a drink!

Best mojito I had while in Cuba. The bar was incredibly crowded and lively with many people standing outside of the bar.

The place was lively however the staff and kitchen were not. We waited a while to be attended to and they ran out of several dishes. The mojitos very excellent.

The original La Bodeguita Del Medio famous all over the world. The place is very crowded, it has people all the time, at any part of the day. Its really hard to find a table, but actually you dont need one, there are people that are standing in front of the place and drinking cocktails. It;s OK even if you just want to enter inside to have a look at the place and read the inscriptions on the wall, pictures from the famous people that have visited this place.

A live band that was jamming! The lead singer was awesome and engaging, and the lady on the flute was magical.And, the mojitos were delightful. Its also fun to watch the bartender make like 10 mojitos at a time. Small tiny little spot, with signed celebrity photos on the wall, and a wooden wall panel that youre welcome to scratch your tag into.A tourist trap, of course. But a fun one, with cocktails, nothing bad about that...

One of the bar restaurants more famous of La Habana, we have the chance to have a wonderful Cuban dinner there,the food was top and the price very reasonsble, the mojitos are good, but not the best, so much people in the entrance of the bar expects to drink 🍹 one that you can see how the do 100s in less than a minute so has turn very commercial, outside of that is a legend place to visitors, also al the walls of the restaurant are full of pictures of famous people and the waiter are so nice and give you a black pencil ✏️ to leave a memory in the legendary walls of the Bodeguita del medio. Best meals we had in Habana and the service was Tops, my congrats🎉

Definately one of the the best places in Havana. Good coctails, good Cuban food. I will come back at thos place nwxt time when visit Havana.
