La Barberie - Brewpub in Quebec, Canada
Favs: Horse Shire Red Ale and Findlay Nitro Cream AleHad the Salmon Rillette and it was amazing. Staff were friendly too.
Great selection of quality bier, knowledge and welcoming staff, everything we were looking for and more!
Visited two times, little bit off the beaten path, but worth it. The beer list is extensive and has some good quality brews there. A nice outside terrace to sit on and sip your beer. Service was wonderful, although we still dont know if you are supposed to order at the bar or is there table service. Instructions unclear.
One of our favourite stops when we visit
Got off the train, what else to do? Walk over here and get the wheel of beer flight! Good beers, nice patio, the sours are very interesting and Im not a sour guy. Lunch is a bit limited, but late afternoon evening food looks interesting and wish I had come back for that. But so close to the train station a great place to stop in before or after your train leaves. Friendly staff.
Kid friendly !What a great space, lively, friendly, inviting. And the beer wheel? Amazing. Beers? Best in the city. There were a few families there, and dogs galore. Wish my hometown had a place like this
Nice local brew pub. Friendly staff and good beer.
Memorable beer and food with exceptional service for us and our dogs.
Truly a hidden gem in Quebec City! Great beers, and some fantastic barrel aged stuff as well. Reasonable prices too for top notch craft beer
Visited one brewery on our visit to Quebec and after extensive research I chose this place. Sampled a few there, took even more to fly back home.Been loving every beer. I always like trying something new, but I’d gladly return every time. Loved it. Thank you.
Really great bat. Service is always good. The beers are great and they have a huge variety of beers. Food is great as well.
Grateful to have La Barberie as a neighbor. Picture of the beef brisket à famous La Barberie; the chef Étienne Manseau admiring his work of art.
Tasty small menu, and fantastic IPA (#4). Would be nice to eat with actual knife and fork though
Outstanding beers, gorgeous patio and very welcoming to us with our dog. They even provided some water and a biscuit for her! Also very friendly staff and patrons. We had a lovely chat with some local folks despite not speaking a lick of French!
Great experience. Relaxing Sunday. Located slightly outside the core old town, La Barberie boasts a huge patio, a large selection of beer and some great eats. Definitely go with the flight if youre not familiar with the choices. I was impressed by the variety. The cacao vanilla stout was a standout. In addition, there was someone to watch the kids while we enjoyed our food and drink. Will be back soon hopefully!
Great staff and vibe. Huuuge selection of beer and the food was great!
Fantastic sour beers! I wish I had found this place earlier on my trip to Quebec. The beers I tried were excellent and they had a good selection of a styles.
The veterans of microbrewery in Quebec City. Cant go wrong. Great selection of beers and food. To go or on the terrace in summer. Friendly staff too.
Fair price and nice beer! There is quite a lot of very different choices so there is always a beer for everyone. The terrace is beautiful with a lot of trees and the inside of the pub is nice as well. We had the "Marie-Antoinette" beer, a maple dessert stout, which was out of this world! Would recommend for anyone who likes beer in Quebec!
Very cozy local brewery, great selection of different types of beer. Slightly out of the way but very close to other breweries in the area. Not many people there in the afternoon, but it started to pick up around 1:30, definitely worth a visit
Went in on a cold, rainy day. My fiancee and I were warmly greeted and welcomed. I had a hefeweizen that was perfectly crisp, and is comparable to those Ive had in Germany. Overall great atmosphere and great beer. Would recommend to anyone looking to explore the local brewing scene
Amazing selection of craft beers of both new-world and old-world styles. Really interesting sours and blondes as well as inventive and unique IPA and stout styles. I cant fault their beer at all. We were fortunate enough to have tried their grapefruit gose in a bottle the day before we visited the brewery (no longer available on tapand MY LORD if you find it anywhere buy as much as you can (see photos). The venue is cozy and quite cramped in an in-vogue hipster way but lacking in the food and service department a little. Also if you dont speak much French dont expect the best service. Fantastic beer makes up for it though!
Great beer! We enjoyed their Elizabeth nitro stout and a couple “American wild ales.” Food consisted of light bar snacks, with a fun environment to hang out.
Im happy to have been able to visit an old establishment and even got to try their craft beers. La Barberie is said to be the oldest microbrewery in Quebec. The beers are amazing both the classic styles and the new trendy flavors of beers. The staff and regulars are very nice which leaves a friendly welcoming environment. 10/10 would recommend.
Pros: they have plenty of high quality beers; lots of space, with nooks; eclectic and barberic. Cons: a bit off under a dark highway; somewhat outdated setup. Decent.
Very quiet on an early Sunday February afternoon. Ordered a flight which had the first 8 items on their menu. A nice variety. 5 minutes walk from the via station, so it’s a convenient way to wait for your train. The playlist they had on was amazing. Some Indian music, shadowy men on a shadowy planet, moderat, it was great and diverse. Server was nice!
Great beer ! Over 15 beers available. You can bring your own food or order in. Microwaves and small oven available for everyone. Great place for a drink.
Best micro brewery ever!! The bartender was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent service. This is definitely our go-to place in Quebec city when it comes to beer! Happy to have found this place.
Cozy patio with a few craft beers on the menu. Seems popular with the locals. Thursday was packed outside around 9pm. Very low key chairs, tables etc, part of the charm.
Cozy lighting, funky vibe, abundant plant life and tasty nibbles make this micro brewery a must.
Great patio. Came for a beer, was not disappointed. A little off the beaten path for tourists who aren’t looking for it. On a Sunday afternoon there was literally one waitress working the entire place, but service was fine.Ended up getting a beer from here later at the Museum of Civilization cafe.
Great micro brewery. Close to old Quebec but quiet park setting. Limited food, bring your own.
Great beer, good vibes on their large patio, and food was being cooked up outside (Comptoir Terrasseunder Pastissimo Maître Traiteur. Very yummy!
Nice beers and good bar snacks 👌 Recommend getting the carousel if you just want to try everything!
Great beer selection at a good price and very friendly service
Beer is delicious. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. They have snacks!
I liked their rustic atmosphere. They do not have a food menu but they do have some snacks like Beef Jerky and Popcorn. You should definitely go if you love beer!
The beer was really good balanced. I like this spot ambience.
A good microbrewery well organised and not at all pretencious. A cozy place with a lot of seating and tables. Board games are also available to play (although many are in French, which is normal). The beer selection is quite varied but tends to be more on the pale ale side. Staff if friendy and knowledgeable.
The staff are friendly, know the beers, and are fluent in both French and English. Great craft beer, I had the pomplemousse gose, Hector black IPA on cask, and choco-orange stout. All of them were good, but the IPA was really interesting, good hop flavor and smells, mellowed a bit from the cask. The interior is dimly-lit, comfy, and cozy.
All their beers are made in house and they have a wide selection for everyone’s taste. They do flights of 8 samplers, and we got the last four to try them all. They have darts and a wide variety of board games, a great escape on a cold and windy and rainy October afternoon.
Great selection of beers and reasonably priced. Board games, darts and a cosy atmosphere. Perfect for a rainy afternoon.
La Barberie has a great patio. There is plenty of seats, benches and even Japanese-esque floor seating with lots of cushions. They were willing to get creative with their brews and we found them to suit their feel and location. The server was friendly and came around just enough. We really enjoyed our time here.
Really great ambiance and decor. Service is excellent, with a very knowledgeable barman whos interested in knowing your story and if you like the drink serviced. I liked all the beers I sampled (the triple belge, the hefeweizen and the west coast IPA). They all have a complexity and depth to the taste. I would recommend letting your choices be guided by the barman - you wont be disappointed by the beer here.
Excellent beers and friendly service. The Carrousel is a great sampler if you dont know what you want.
Very cool bar with an interesting selection of beers. Definitely something there for everyone. Their strawberry beer is something I would have never tried if it hadnt been chosen for me, and it was really surprisingly good - light and refreshing. Small menu of snacks with things like hard pretzels with mustard.
Great selection of craft beers. The place has a relaxed atmosphere and board games available to play. Be aware they do not really serve food, just some very basic snacks.
The beer is top-notch, the ambiance is really good. Its a real pub where you get awesome microbrewery beer, you get to play board-games if you want. The folks are really great, they know what they serves. You can even get your food delivered there if you want a snack while taking a good craft beer!
Only had a beer here, the Session IPA Lime. Very tasty and easy to drink. Came to just under $13. They had some nibbles (breads, crisps, meat, cheesebut I didnt try them. Decor has a traditional bar feel with some fun animal print pictures on the wall.
Great beer at fair prices.... You are better off ordering directly at the bar than waiting for a waiter to come around. They now serve finger foods & European hot-dogs. Love this place !
