La Auténtica Carmela - Granada - Spanish restaurant in Granada, Spain
1. Croquette with black pudding taste really fresh, would totally recommend, with ham is also fine.2.black rice with shrimp tastes pretty salty.3. Oxtail stew taste too plain, might need more seasoning. Both wouldnt recommend.
Friendly service. Salmoreja was great. Tosta was no good for me but I should’ve known better - ham like that is always a toss up for me. Rice dish was way too salty. I thought I ordered well after so many failed attempts at eating good tapas but, alas, I once again missed the mark. Much prefer the cheap, good middle eastern food that’s aplenty in Granada.
Very good authentic and homemade food, lovely staff!! Would recommend to everyone!
You must order the croquettes! Absolutely delicious, we re ordered several times
The food was amazing !It’s super busy but it’s worth it, I recommend the Rabo de toro. The service was also really good and with a smile :)
Great time, great food, great People! Thank you for amazing evening! Greatings to Sebastian! See you soon!
Food and deserts great. Ordered two mains but only ended up with one, so had to share, just a language mistake as we only paid for one. Staff very friendly and helpful but being a Friday night they where rushed of their feet. What a great service they provide.
Food here was great, we went for tapas. They also offered several vegetarian options. We were a group of 5 and all had a great time due to the lively atmosphere. Service was okay (try not to have high expectations).
We were quite disappointed with our visit. While we were quickly given a table, served a drink each, and then brought our tapas, we were never spoken to again. No one followed up with us, which was unfortunate because we really wanted to try the croquettes.
Food was great .. the staff super helpful and fast .. you might wait a bit for a table but it is worth it.
One of the most delicious food weve had in Granada. Best tapas! Great service and atmosphere.
The food wasn’t horrible, but the description of the food/ pictures on the menu was in accurate. Definitely overpriced and a tourist trap! They even served us turkey on one of the meals claiming that it was roasted ham. When we confronted them about this, they tried to tell us that it was special ham of Granada… it was definitely turkey.
A nice spot to eat after scaling the heights of Alhambra. The waiter was so welcoming, and despite not speaking a lot of English, it was a whole lot better than my Spanish. He made sure we had everything we wanted. He even cautioned us when we ordered the food that we had ordered too much. Explaining that the the tortilla was huge, so we removed it. He kindly brought us 3 portions on the house so we could still sample the famous Spanish dish. Add to that a digestif gratis, it was a wonderful meal to recharge after our fun but tiring visit to Alhambra. Highly recommended.
Great food and hospitality!
Good food , good serviceOne of the best in Granada
We only had one day in Granada and we hit the perfect spot for lunch. Perhaps the best family meal we had during our entire trip. Everyone left happy. I had a delicious steak. My wifes chorizo paella was excellent. Typical of Granada, we were given a free tapas and even a shot for everyone (virgin for the boysafter the meal. Highly recommended!
Best food we’ve eaten in Spain. The staff was extraordinarily friendly & the service was exemplary. Black rice was delectable, steak was perfectly cooked, and cheesecake for dessert was mouth watering!
Some of the best tapas in the city. We came 6 years ago and made sure to stop back again on this trip!
Amazing Spanish food, quality service and perfect spot for lunch on a hot hot day! Would recommend!
Good food and great hospitality. Dinner sizes are grande and price good. Thank you.
Excellent service. The croquettes were better than most Ive had. Its an original take by using morcilla and warm spices. The bread with salmonerjo was also excellent.
Lovely restaurant with many gluten free options on the menu. Very friendly and attentive staff. Really enjoyed my food especially the desert!
Delicious food from the Carmela group - we were here earlier than the typical Spanish lunch hour but luckily the place is already open. All dishes were really good (though we have ordered a bit too much for 2!- we can’t keep talking about how special the huge white chocolate & cauliflower croquettes were - a new flavour that you’d love after your second spoon. We also really liked the octopus (crispy but tenderand the iberico pork. The free tapas (a tradition in this part of Granadaalso added flavours to the meal. Nice view to the fountain if you picked the right outdoor seating.
Great service by Victor, delicious food. Good portions, nice location.
Nice location, good and delicious food and drinks. We havent managed to book a table online but walked in there and got a nice one outdoors. We have been served mainly by Chema, he was very nice and helpful.
came to this restaurant from Canada and all i got to say is that we had the greatest experience at this location!! we found our server David very professional and very friendly. he went out of the way to give us suggestions on where to go in Granada that is kid friendly and just to get a good feeling of what Granada has to offer other than the usual "tourist" spots. the food was amazing and the service he gave was outstanding!!! give this man a raise and promote him to management!! 5 Stars!!
Excelent food and attention! Tapas but gourmet style and well done. Loved the croquetas and the octopus. Try the arroz del Pueblo 👍
Decided to have a drink in this establishment. Served all night by Aitor. Such a pleasant, young waiter, very helpful, service was excellent and would highly recommend. The tapas we were given was the best I have had, since living in Spain, nearly three years now. When we visit again, we will definitely be paying another visit.Thank you.
Barbecue sauce for chicken is very similar to Koreans one. I know why Koreans like it. Bread with jamon, tomato is also tasty. The staff(David and his friends)is very friendly and kind. Finally, there is Korean menu.Strongly recommend 👌
Great food! Got recommendation from a local and the place is definitely satisfying! Tasty tapas with the beer. My husband loved the toasted Iberian pork
The food is bursting with flavour and I walked out happy with a full belly. What else do you need from an amazing establishment?
Genial! A wonderfull restaurant, with nice food, excellent tapas, good atmosphere and a great staff with Ana and her colleagues. We were pleasantly surprised by the Moorish dish of Berenjenas en tempura con miel de caña y sesamo tostado, it was delicious (I have no picture of the berenjas). No matter how busy it is, the staff works really hard to give you a nice evening, and they have succeeded every evening we were there. We are looking very much forward to coming here next year. Muchas gracias!
Cute and cozy restaurant, Very tasty!most of the times its very crowded and you need to wait a bit, the prices are a bit high, the service is faster then usual restaurants
Nice place for breakfast! They have english/traditional breakfast. We replaced ham and bacon with turkey. The staff are overwhelmed but try their maximum to have you served.
Great foot, service and overall ambience. A bit on the pricey side, but its a great option for a nice evening or lunch.
Good food and service, prices are a bit higher than some places.
Good service. Clean and spacious venue (indoor and outdoor). Had a complimentary tapa (blue cheese and spinach). The fried octopus was delicious. Good portions. Prices were ok. Good wine selection. Overall a good option for lunch.
Nice place for tapas and beers! The food we order are all delicious like paella, pasta and steak. The cerveza limón (lemon beeris the best! Friendly staffs. Better to have a reservation first, cause not so many tables in the restaurant. 15-20 minutes waiting is worthy. It has another branch 100 meter away.
It was really busy and full but the waiter got us a table within 10 mins. As we flew in from Paris and then drove a rented car from Madrid, we went savaged on the food. Ordered 9 dishes and packed a few home. Food is really delicious and we paired it with the local beer - Alhambra 1925. Definitely a great place to check out.
A very nicely decorated restaurant. You have a choice to sit inside, or on the patio.Good wine selection. You can enjoy tapas, or plates dishes. It does cost a bit more because youre in the tourist area, but the delicious food made up for it.Its no problem speaking english and they have English menus.
Polite and helpful staff. Definitely get octopus if your into seafood and paella iberca was the best I’ve had so far in Granada!
Great Spanish restaurant with lot of various. Food are delicious but Pamela disc are bit salty
Such a great restaurant in Granada with professional staffs whom are so friendly and warm. I really enjoyed my Roasted Lamb with Green Salad in a charming atmosphere. Highly recommended
Quality dishes of Andalusian.Had checked here on google in advance, & now I do totally agree with all reviews. ;)
When I was waiting to be seated,I saw ppl bought some of the food (the deep fried meat ball)in supermarket and reheat in microwave, when serving it’s still cold inside!!!Paella is crazy salty!!some meat roll is extremely dry and tasteless.....GOOD FOR TOURISTS!!
Crowded but super organized restaurant. It was packed when we arrived. Although the restaurant doesn’t have that much space, the staff are so energetic in managing everything. The food itself is awesome and was served hot and fast. Recommend for anyone visiting Granada!!!
Garbage tourist trap. This place is truly horrible. £7 for a "salad" that was a head of lettuce with diced tomatoes in the middle. Every single dish is sugary beyond belief, drenched in oil, or both. For the love of God, visit any other place.
Nice corner of a restaurant to people watch. Food was delicious, well portioned. They mixed up our order of paella knowingly because when they served it they apologised. (!!Since we were in a hurry we did not make a fuss and ate it anyway and it turned out to be delicious. Aside from the strange service - it was difficult to get their attention too despite there were only 3 tables occupied.. the restaurant is alright. Quite clean and bright.
Good location. Food is more upscale than usual. Had a few unique foods. Spent 60 euros for 2 pax for 3 plates.2
A great place to grab dinner or even just a drink after a busy day touring Granada. Food was simple and good. Croquetas were delicious. Great ambience too - especially on the terrace!
