La Aurora Zoo in Jalapa

Relaxing, perfect to visit with family, new parking area with roof. The food court is big, but sometimes is crowded. Excellent experience.

Im impressed about this zoo, its so clean and i love the detail of putting signs with the story behind each one of the animals there. Im giving 4 stars because the otter was asleep. Im kidding.

Quite large zoo with a great diversity of animals. Clean park with many available toilets and free WiFi. Some of the cages were a bit crammed (large cats mostly)

Wow is 2022 and the zoo looks amazing. It was nice but now is wow! The price is more than Worthy Q40 adult. Has a lot of new aninals amd has been renovates, a lot of new designs and parking under roof. I love it. I give a 100%

Clean environment, a lot of people were there enjoying the Zoo but that did not impede my ability to view everything I wanted with my family.

We bought our tickets when we arrived, there was no wait, parking lot was full due to remodeling, so we had to park at Domo Deportivo, however, there is a bus that takes you to and from the zoo for free, when I visited the restrooms they were clean and had everything we needed. There is a food court and a child friendly area for them to play and interact with other kids.

This zoo park is awesome. Everytime it is being upgraded. Animals have special care and are treated as deserved.

Decent-size enclosures for the animals. You actually get to see the animals unlike zoos in the US. The zoo is beautiful with lots of plants and flowers. Their food court has a wide variety of food too. I loved it!

The zoo is one of the best places to visit qith family, friends, girlfriend etc.. Have a lots of animals they seem to be in the best care each one, the place is always clean ther try to maintain clean al the environments, at this moment theres not car parking lot because the are upgrading the space at this moment maintains a lot of visitors the sundays there was a lot of people from our neighbors countrys you can feed the giraffes and others animals is really interactive i really recommended visit this place the entry price is cheap and the food is in the same path.

Better than LA zoo. They have so many animals and they are all very active for the most part. Bring repellant because mosquitos will find you.

A beautiful zoo where you can not only look and enjoy the eccentricities a lot of animals but also get a little bit of fresh air and relaxation without leaving the city.

Usually not a big zoo person, but this was a great experience. Facilities were clean, food court had tons of options, and the animals seemed happy to be there!

Nearby the International Airport, handicraft market and anthropology museum in the coee of Guatemala city. Such a great place for walking and enjoying animals from several continents in a friendly environment.

Beautiful Zoo, great exhibits. You can get great views of the animals. Feeding the giraffes was the highlight by far.

Surprisingly, the zoo is very well taken care of and has Disney World level. Among all zoos in the Americas that I visited, the ones in the USA sometimes are in the same level of the Zoo in Guatemala City. Congrats Guatemala, for having this precious place available for your population and for visitors to see!

Excellent activity do do, even on a long layover in the city as it is right next to the airport. Entrance is only 5$. Beautiful grounds with lots to look at

Amazing zoo!!! It’s not super big but it is so clean and has so many animals that I had never seen before! Make sure you go in the aviary!

This zoo is beautiful. When you enter on the left you have fast food restaurants and on the left you have what seems like carnival rides and traditional ethnic food. I liked how you had options on what to eat. There’s iguanas roaming free as well as peacocks. When going to the toilet you will have to get as many pieces of toilet paper before entering the stall because there’s no toilet paper in there! I recommend you take your own roll of TP if you go. There’s also no hooks to hang your purse or anything on the bathroom wall. The zoo is large and it can be a full day experience for the family. The aquarium is not that great, I’ve seen larger variety of fish at a pet store, if you’re in a rush I don’t recommend waiting in line to see it.

I had one of the best times in this zoo, the variety of animals is great, the place is clean and has lots of gel dispensers to stay clean. The place has options where you can feed the animals which was pretty fun, and the information they give is very interesting.

So many animals!! Clean and organized. Affordable zoo. I visited from Miami Florida and honestly this is a beautiful zoo compared to others Ive seen. Tasty food selection too. 😋

Wow, my family and I were blown away at how amazing the zoo was. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be because the entrance fee is very reasonable. $2 for kids ages 2 to 12 and $4 for adults. You cannot find a zoo anywhere in the US for even close to that price. The zoo was full of security guards and was very clean and there where a lot of amazing animals, reptiles, and amphibians!And The snacks were extremely inexpensive. One scoop ice cream cone for $0.60, popcorn with butter for $1.50, and smoothies for $2.Cant say enough good things about this place, we may even go back a second time.

This is an amazing zoo, one of the best I’ve been to. It’s also great value. We paid Q35 per adult and Q30 for parking, Q100 total, or about $13 USD. This was a Saturday afternoon, but I believe the pricing is the same all week.The zoo was clean and well-kept. There’s a large food court area with 10+ food and snack options, as well as a playground area for children. Favorite animals to see included the jaguars, brown bears, and penguins.

Very gorgeous zoo with an incredible amount of foliage everywhere that contributes to the experience. There is a decent (although not enormousselection of animals and a lot of work has been put into the exhibits. My only minor complaint is that there are no maps, which coupled with the winding paths, makes it a little difficult to navigate efficiently.

This is one of my favorite zoos that I have been to. The zoo is beautiful and the animals are close enough in the exhibits that they are easy to see, as opposed to some zoos where the enclosures are so large the animals are far away. My favorite exhibit was where you got to go into the ring-tailed lemur area and they run around you while you walked through. There is also a very large playground area for the kids to play at near the restaurants.

Its a nice, clean place to visit at any age, or with your family. Look at all the beautiful exotic animals. You can also either have a family picnic there or buy food from different restaurants available to you there.

This zoo was absolutely amazing. Best zoo Ive gone to so far. The enclosures were big and open. None were in cages except the birds. Lots of things for kids to do. Playhround for kids before entering zoo. Really good prices and great place to bring the family. Offered up close experiences with animals such as giraffe feeding and an underground prairie dog viewing dome.

I absolutely loved this zoo and can say it is among the best Ive visited. I have visited the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, the Racine Zoo in Wisconsin, the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC andthe Detroit Zoo in Michigan before visiting La Aurora Zoo in Guatemala. What I really loved about this Zoo is the great balance between nature and animal exhibits it has. I felt like I was in a real forest and some of the places where so inviting that I felt like throwing a blanket on the ground to have a picnic with my family. Wish I had more pictures to share but I mainly took video. Strongly recommended if you are in or near the City of Guatemala.

Great place, I loved it! The animals were amazing to see giving that Ive never seen a bear or a giraffe or even an elephant before in my 23 years of life. So, for me it was out of the ordinary and sometimes we need that.

The best place to take kids and adults. Animals are un a natural safe place. You can see them interacting and away fron furtibe hunters. Peacocs are free a llover the place and you can feed the giraffes on specific schedules, there is a farm an lots of wild animals. You will not regret visiting. Its not expensive and food is sold inside, fast food and snacks. Dont forget to visit the free borda área, you can walk among them.

Amazing zoo! Left me really impressed. It was big, spacious and wonderfully set up. We had a 22 month old with us and she had a blast. I would defineltu recommend this for anyone visiting with children of any age. Myself, as an adult had a great time. You can spend at least half a day here easily.

Beautiful zoo! Very educational and they let you get close to some of the animals (safely)! Options for feeding giraffes and koi. Many different species of animals. Ive been to the San Diego Zoo and Calgary Zoo but La Aurora zoo is the best one Ive been to!

This so is beautiful. Definitely a place to visit with the family. The animals are taken care of and seem happy. The only suggestion I would make is for a second elephant to be brought in. The current elephant looks very sad and lonely.Other than that, this zoo has a variety of animals. There is a food court and childrens playground, as well as a souvenir shop.

The best experience of this Zoo is the fact that they DO take care of animals and you can see it’s actually good. So as part of review of this place I can say it’s an excellent Zoo where people of all ages can go and learn about an extended variety of species and how they live in the wilderness so we can contribute to keep environment well prepared for nature.

An amazing, high quality zoo that I think should rank among the best! Animal enclosures were spacious and not overcrowded, overall the animals seemed happy and active. I really enjoyed their reptile exhibit, dozens of local species rarely seen outside of the wild. There were some animals like iguanas and peacocks walking free among the grounds which is always an exciting up close experience.We came in the afternoon on a Tuesday, all the school field trips seemed to be leaving just as we were arriving. Admission was 33Q per adult and included readmission between the park entrance/food court and the zoo itself. The park entrance had a great animal-themed playground for the kids, and a food court with about 10 options from Pollo Campero to Dominos.If you go on a Tuesday or Sunday dont miss the giraffe feeding! A once in a lifetime experience for only 10Q!
