LUI BOSS in Bundoora
Description
Privilege
Went last night for dinner, really impressed with the food and service. Best authentic Korean restaurant in the area, highly recommend.
MoreI was craving Korean stew and was a little disappointed with the lack of flavour/depth which Ive come to expect from Korean stew that I get anywhere in Melbourne. The kim chi they give you for free was not very nice tasting. The shoestring chips were delicious though and the staff very friendly.
MoreGood service, but it is not authentic Korean taste.
Simply Amazing, staff were friendly. The food was delicious, finally a Korean Chicken near the train station and the market.
MoreThe food was delicious, I tried chicken (Pic belowsoft and tasty, a good portion for me that was starving that day. Also the environment (music, place and staffwas nice and friendly. I hope to go back to try more dishes
MoreFood is not as good as before, fried chicken was soggy. A bit disappointing as someone loves Korean chicken.
Moreguys please ditch MacDonald’s and KFC and go here… you will thank me. I’ve only been here twice and it’s my favourite restaurant, the food is so good and the service is kind.
MoreChicken was so tasty and not dry at all! Demolished it!
Both dishes we ordered here were excellent. My wife who is an asian food buff felt it was authentic Korean fare. The prices arent as low as average for other asian restaurants in the area, but if you want authenticity youll find it here.
MoreWe arrived there at 9:15 when the kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. We would like to thank the chef and everyone for letting us dine in and prepare our order ASAP. We felt bad but we’re hungry too. Highly appreciate their team for welcoming us in last hour too.
MoreYum, the fried chicken here is the best, always share a serve with the wasabi and onion dressing and then grab side. Love going here after shopping at the market but do try and restrain myself to once a month, only so much fried chicken the waist line can take hahaha
MoreBought take away spicy rice cake... serving was so little. not again
Fabulous enjoy eating here remind me of Korea staff very friendly and helpful
Delicious food & nice service. Will definitely visit this place again and also recommend everyone to visit this place.
MoreDropped in for late lunch over the weekend and even at 3 in the arvo the place was full. We soon found out why. Tastefully spicy tteokbokki, "crunchy on the outside and juicy inside" fried chicken and an umamiful bowl of kimchi jjigae to settle it all down. Glad to have a decent Korean joint close by.
MoreWithout a doubt the best Korean Chicken I’ve ever tried. Their hamburgers are amazing and also their fried chicken (my favourite ones BBQ and honey & garlic). Also good veriety of drinks, can get some peach soju every time I go. Great service.
More[Korean fried chicken] ordered half boneless one and there were not too many real meat of the chicken, basically just the flour. The garlic sauce is not very sauce and way too sweet.[kimchi fried rice]very simple fried rice, nothing specially , but can be kinda of spicy. Also the oily smell is way too strong inside the restaurant, my hair my clothes and even my phone case got the oily smelly which is annoying. If you can, go further for other Korean restaurants.
MoreFoods always fresh and I never feel sick after eating it like some fried chicken. Wish they’d bring back the pickled radish or whatever the pickle they used to include in the half chicken meal was, really tied it together
MoreExcellent food Great menu food is delicious. Dumplings fried chicken soups burgers we had tonight and cant wait to go back to try more of the menu. Friendly staff Clean premises hidden away at the Preston market gives you plenty of parking
MoreFood came quickly, but had to send the dumplings back twice as they were still partly frozen. Table was sticky, but the lemon lime squash was delish. Fried chicken was good as was the Kimchi fries and che sik but felt it was pricey for what was served.
MoreIf you’re after an authentic korean experience, you can skip this place. The soy garlic fried chicken came out soggy and corn cheese tasted funny, either not enough butter or not using the right cheese. I’ve definitely had much, much better in Melbourne. The ventilator also did not work, which resulted in a stuffy, oily smell atmosphere from the kitchen. Overall this made for an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, and I really hope they’ll improve for the future.
MoreFried chicken was great. We ordered alkimchi as a side, because we love kimchi. But the one here is the spiciest I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot o kimchi! The kimchi pancake was also unbearably spicy. We couldn’t finish it because we were in pain. Kimchi is supposed to have a kick, but not this much.
MoreMy take away boneless fried chicken was about 1/3 fried crumbs, very little chicken. Very disappointed.Their dine in quality is usually much better.
MoreGot delivery tonight! It is so bad. I had beef bibim bap so many times, never ever seen just use beef mince and it’s only just tiny bit, it’s so ridiculous to charge me $18. This restaurant always had good quality of food and I’m the regular customer, don’t know what happened now. It’s made me so disappointed to seen this !
MoreHad been meaning to eat here for a while, was a little off put by the price at first but serving sizes are great. Food is fresh, and prepared and presented really beautifully. The staff were really lovely and I really liked how cute and tucked away the restaurant was, it had a really nice overall feel to it. I will be eating there again for sure!
MoreI come here just for the Sundobu. Its the best Sundobu Ive tried do far. Shame theres not one near me. Have to drive 40 mins to get here
MoreLoved the corn cheese and tofu bulgogi spicy with rice really great taste. Not a fan of the veg dumplings. Will definitely go back for the corn cheese and tofu bulgogi
MoreThe food here is *chefs kiss*. They have the best fried chicken I have had in Melbourne. They always cater to our special requests. A special thanks to Megan who makes sure the food is made as requested! Highly recommended!
MoreLoved it!Chicken was fresh, crispy and juice.Kimchi was flavoursome.Kimchi fries outstanding. Thanks to the chef for acomodating half a serve of it.Will come back for sure :)
MoreGood food in a basic but nice little restaurant in the Preston Markets. The menu could do with some more kid-friendly options, though (smaller, cheaper, more plain flavours). My son ordered the KFC burger but didnt like the spicy sauce on it, so we ended up eating it and giving him out fried chicken, which he loved. Apart from that potential improvement we really enjoyed our lunch.
MoreThis place is awesome! Delicious food and accomodating for parents with babies; not to mention classic kpop bangers playing the whole time. I will say I wish the cheese on the kimchi fries was more melted but overall can’t complain!
MoreOrdered a KFC Bap via Deliveroo today and food came fine.. until I found dirt on the lettuce for their salad, and I had already eaten some. It’s not the natural bruise on vegetables as I can scrape the dirt out. Apparently they don’t wash their veggies, and this is unacceptable hygienically. Council/ food safe inspectors need to do their jobs properly. Money wasted.
MoreLocated in Preston market. Parking is free on market days for limited time. Ambiance is pretty cool. The best Kimchi fries I had.Tried the bone and boneless chicken(Half)Flavours were garlic soy and bbq.I loved the Garlic one but the bbq taste was abit weird. Also no half and half options available which makes it abit dull. But overall it was amazing.
MoreHave eaten dine-in and takeaway and the food never disappoints. The Soy Garlic Fried Chicken is incredible and the homemade squash is a must have! The service is great, beautiful dining area and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.
MoreWow fantastic food here! Definitely a new favourite, best Korean food around that’s for sure. The cheese corn was the best I’ve ever had. The pricing is very reasonable as well which I was very surprised by because the food was of such a high standard. Would recommend for families, groups and couples. Will be back!!!
MoreNestled in the corner of the Preston Market this Korean eatery served some yummy food. The portions are reasonably sized and prized. Staff are courteous despite minimum communication. Its licensed so got a few varities of beer. Love the ambience and its very welcoming
MoreWe finally tried this casual Korean place and were not disappointed.Korean fried chicken was melt in mouth and the dolsot very tasty.Nice simple direction of drinks - including alcoholic drinks.Tucked in at the back of the Preston Market.Looking forward to our next visit.
MoreGreat restaurant serving a good selection of Korean favorites, along with an amazing selection of vegetarian/vegan options. I recommend ordering the fried rice cakes with the vegan chicken (so yum!and you can’t go wrong with their corn cheese either. Definitely coming back!
Morea little korean restaurant sitting right at preston market. the fried chicken was really tasty , chips w beef was delish, the dressing on top make the chips soooo great!i had the wings w rice which make you feel great after
MoreThe food looks better then it tastes. Opinion based on one single visit, the fried chicken burger has too many flavours competing against each other which didnt taste amazing and I even ended up questioning if the chicken was completely cooked as it appeared slimy and too pink in the middle. The table I sat at was also sticky and not very clean. The staff members seemed nice and polite. I would give it a second go and hope the experience improves.
MoreThe menu is short and sweet, easy to find something for everyone. The starters were delish and the mains were a great mix and well balanced. The perfect place to introduce someone to Korean cuisine. Its a relaxed environment and the staff were really friendly, part of what makes this such an unexpected gem.
MoreYou can get the usual suspects like fried chicken here but the cold noodles were a nice surprise. Recommended.
MoreSo good!! Weekly eat, I just cant keep away. Sticky pork bun is a fave as is the KFC burger.
MoreI always order Korean food here. Before I order the seafood pancake I checked the photo. But what I’ve got seafood pancake was nothing inside. I know what is the seafood pancake because I’m Korean, but I got a just pancake.. a little of Squid and green onion, carrots that’s all. and no cutlery, too much salty chicken. I really disappointed today.
MoreGreat Korean restaurant. Friendly staff and pretty quick service. They also have an outdoor area which is good for when whether is nice. I also had takeaways here before and still really nice. My fav would be the wings as it’s full of flavor and crunchy on outside.
MoreWas really good experience here. Good service and great food.
Good service, great chicken! Why arent there more people here on a Friday/Saturday night?Soy garlic a good staple, wasabi mayo light on wasabi but heavy on the fennel - good if you want to keep your chicken skin crispy.Kim Chi Jji Ge a good start, time to work through the rest of them.
MoreFood was good. Chicken needed to be cooked for longer. Was a little cold once arrived. Worth the experience though.
MoreHad the hot bap and some fried chicken. Awesome addition to the market. Can’t wait to come back with a bunch of mates for the delicious chicken.
MoreAwesome service; place is extremely friendly and laid back. I personally like the decor and the general vibe, not pretentious which suits the friendly service.Ive had the boneless original fried chicken and the popcorn chicken and have not been disappointed.Crunchy and very tasty and not greasy or oily, I really rate Lui.Boss as an excellent example of Korean fried chicken.Stoked that theyve opened and cant wait to try the other items on the menu that is all very reasonably priced IMO.
