Quaint, homey trattoria with regular live music offering classic Tuscan-style fare since 1980.
Serve and food was very good. Would definitely go back.
Great food could use some acoustic improvements noise level was high.
The best Italian food on the wold
Ok experience. No happy hour at bar.
It was 👌 excellent great people great food thanks again 😁
Very nice atmosphere! Old fashioned American Italian restaurant.
Food is great and bar is lively. Bummer they raised the prices but will still go back.
Very poor food. Experience, ambience was enjoyable but the food was quite horrible. Almost everything was bad. Vegetables even had labels still stuck to them - wonder how they wash them. Pizza was uncooked. When I showed it to them, they took the half eaten pizza inside, cooked it some more and brought it back - have to wonder about their hygiene practices.Overall, not a place that I would ever visit again or recommend to anyone. I wouldnt go there even if they were half as pricey as they are.
Classic old school Italian-American restaurant! Delish! Awesome tiramisu!
If you want an awesome rack of lamb ( or any meal and the best wait staff you’ve ever had, Lucetis is the place to go!!! This place knows how to take care of you! Best restaurant on the peninsula!!!
Service was wonderful. Food was good. Drinks were absolutely great.
We drove 35 minutes south from San Francisco to eat here - our friends local, Italian, go to restaurant. We were happy we did. The four of us had a great meal and a delightful visit. The food was delicious and the service exemplary. Its a small upscale family owned restaurant offering Tuscan food with both indoor and outdoor dinning. I love fish so I had the sole; so light and tasty with a cheese flavored sauce. It was perfect. My husband had the veal piccata; we shared ice-cream and crème caramel for desert. Yum! Everything was tasty, well presented and came timely. Our waitress was attentive and friendly bringing more bread, soft butter, water as needed. Our friends were very happy to share their gem of a restaurant with us; they regularly pick up and take home four meatballs. We will definitely be going back.
I ordered pesto gnocchi got pesto cream soup.Dont mind paying the price but cmon make a effort and put more gnocchi on the plateBig waste of money.Never again.
I love the food .the price is on the high side.to bad it used to be reasonable.we are senior citizen lower your prices
I love to sit at the bar and have dinner. Lots of old timers and locals. The bartenders are just wonderful. Good service, friendly, efficient but not overly chatty. I like to sit at a bar and receive a well made cocktail. Nothing fancy. Its refreshing compared to so many bars who have some flashy, poser with attitude bartender (that cant make a drinkand makes you wait as they cant handle a crowd. The food is very good. Not gourmand but reliable good comfort food. The decor in the bar serves well however the main dining room could use a little updating...maybe fresh coat of paint and new carpet. I personally dont care because Im happy with the good service and consistently enjoyable menu.
Terrible, hostile environment due to management allowing a group of rude, inconsiderate drunks to talk over everyone there, talk of and directly to others dining, and even disrespect the employees. The food also made me feel ill. Worst experience.
Went to this place and they have yummy dishes. We had prawns scampi and Cannelloni Della Casa. It was yummy and nicely followed social distancing. Booked for 2 people on Valentine’s Day. I would definitely recommend others.
Love this place! Such a great, old-school Italian spot. Friendly staff who takes great care of you, delicious food, what more do you need?Almost everything Ive tried here is fantastic. The bread is served fresh and warm ahead of your meal. I definitely recommend the polenta starter, the carpaccio starter, and the veal parmesan. The scallops muniere were good, not as good as the veal though. The spaghetti and meatballs look incredible, Ill have to get those sometime.Huge portions, reasonably priced, and they have outdoor seating with heaters during COVID. If you havent been yet, stop in and join the family!
Lucetis has been around for YEARS! Always have friendly staff and the food is amazing! Perfect location and fitting for any occasion!
Great local spot. Nice parklet and dog friendly. Strong cocktails. Come support them!
Outdoor seating is classy and Social Distancing friendly. Great service and its nice to be able to bring my puppy while I eat outside. Come support small businesses!
Open for business! Following all State guidelines! I had the chicken carbonara. Was fabulous! Great food, great service!
Had a very nice time there on a Wednesday evening , The server(Staceywas actually better then the food. She made us all feel very welcome and comfortable. The food is usually splendid, but sometimes it is off a little.
Just received my doordash order. 2 skinny cannoli, 25.00. Come on. no cheese no extra bread. Never again.
Well established restaurant, great food and service. I had the best ravioli, and Ive tried lots. My dad had a club sandwich with fries and he loved his meal. Mom had the same, but with a salad. Both liked the sandwich with fries best.Id definitely dine here again.
Crab sandwich was mediocre. Open faced so in reality only a half sandwich. Also wasnt fond of the hollandaise sauce on it. Thats not a normal ingredient in a crab sandwich.
One of few old style Italian restaurants in the Peninsula. Always delicious.
Waitress seemed upset that my wife and I sat at the bar... Treated is markedly different from the other bar patrons. Ill give 2 stars because the food is good but we wont be back.
Excellent tasting food and quality preparation of plates. Flavors are soft well managed in all plates. Service is outstanding too!
Nice place, but a lot of the food had small-medium flavoring and seasoning problems (too much garlic or onion, the onion not being cooked enough, etc). Big portions.
Well when we got there it was for I just opened the bartender you had kind of an attitude because she was eating her soup said the restaurant be open until 5 but the bar will be open what can I do for you just had an attitude after we drink $70 worth of booze there before we had her dinner she think shed be happy anyway to dinner mediocre-at-best for my taste my wife enjoyed it my friend who took me out for my birthday enjoyed it and my son enjoyed it but Im kind of a fussy guy I didnt enjoy it because Im a cook and I say cioppino I mean cioppino not that water down three three pieces of shrimp couple of pieces of fish was not worth the money we paid for it but other than that it didnt cost me anything so its good presenting the all-new 3-row Subaru ascentI dont type my words so if theres a few mistakes its because I talk too fast for the machine but all good
a great upscale restaurant with decent prices. food selection is solid and tastes great. the atmosphere is aging but dont let that take away from the food itself.
I really enjoy coming here. its a great place for good food. good ambiance and friendly staff
The ambience, service, and food is very good. The salads were especially fresh and delicious. However salads are extra, and not included with the entree price. Drinks are a little pricey as well. Its a beautiful place to go for a special occasion.
I only ordered a salad and the polenta, but they were both delicious. The polenta was so decadent, and could easily be a meal if youre not starving.
Food is incredible. Pricing is fair and reasonable. I especially love the atmosphere its like going to a friends house for dinner. They also offer a full bar.
Nice atmosphere, good service. Wine was a bit warm, food needed salt and some pizzazz
Place has been around for a long time and there are two rooms, dining room and bar. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Food is served in very large portions, so come hungry.
Place rocks nice mix of young and old always have a great time there. Stacy was really helpful/ fun and the wait staff are all happy and helping one another. Great vibe explains why theyve been business for so long. Some of the newer restaurant in san mateo could learn a few things... wursthall maybe you could do a training meeting a Lucetis to improve your staffs performance
This is such a local gem that I have rediscovered. We had a family friend that was a chef here in the 80s and this is still such a go-to place for local. Awesome service and great food!
Avoid!! Very very rude treatment at the bar, as the previous reviewer said, she acted like we were wasting her time, but she was friends with the regulars. I think its the same young woman too. SUPER expensive. Two okay plates of chicken alfredo and one lemonade cost $53. Also, the waiter kept pushing me to get another lemonade which was weird. Same as the previous reviewer, came here at about 3:30 PM on a Tuesday. Worst experience my gf and I have ever had...
I went into Lucetis around 3:30 pm on a Monday 5/13/2018. Ive received okay service here before, and dont really like this place, but I was hungry. I asked for a menu and coffee at the bar. I was told by rude young female server that they dont serve coffee anymore. I noticed the espresso machine and asked again for coffee and the girl told me in an annoyed tone: "Thats espresso. You asked for coffee" REALLY?! The issue for her was NOT that I was there to do business, but to parse the difference between the terms coffee and espresso. So I asked for an espresso. She brought it . I asked for cream and sugar. She tersely replied " You already have sugar-" referring to the one sugar cube on the platter. " I want more sugar. " I demanded. "Whats with the attitude?" I finished my coffee and decided not to order a meal. She was freinds to the other people there who seemed to be regulars. Apparently, youre only welcome here if youre not black or a regular. Typical Bay area service: people who have no business in the restaurant business have jobs as bartenders and waiters and treat you like youre wasting their time. Okay Italian food, just WAY overpriced and the service is routinely bad. AVOID!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service. I dont recall the name of my dish but it was chicken and pasta with garlic sauce.
Unfortunately this restaurant is on the down hill. A while back the owner ship changed hands and the lady who now owns the place is letting the food quality slip. The service is great, and the older crowd loves it, but given the price I recommend spending your money where the food quality is better. Ive been going to this restaurant for years but the last few times the food has been below average.
Love the atmosphere and food. Unfortunately, I can only eat at member restaurants! They should be a part of our vibrant Chamber of Commerce Community!!!
Wonderful food. Next day I bumped into waitress as she preparing to DELIVER my lost wallet to my residence! Great service!
Good Italian foods. Good services. A bit pricey. But worth it if I dont come too often. The atmosphere was nice, a bit noisy. Guessed all the clients were very happy and chatty. Pretty much has to compete in volume to talk to your company. Overall, good experience, and definitely will come back.
Pretty disappointed in the "Special" Mothers Day Menu.My family took my elderly mother here for mothers day. Unlike the typical menu, we were presented with a special menu for mothers day. What was special? Many of the pasta dishes were eliminated, the dish my mother usually likes (scallopswas also gone. Their regular extensive menu was replaced by essentially a 1 1/2 page menu. Prominently presented on this menu; the pricier meat items (except with inflated prices). Our party was quite taken aback with this. Obviously, it was a ploy to make more money from people taking their mothers out for a nice meal.. This is a fairly popular restaurant that has been in this location for quite a while.. Surely, they would have made enough money with the regular menu..This experience makes it difficult for me to return..
inconsistent. welcome very positive and warm. we were served supermarket rolls instead of baguette slices. waiter said thats all they had - hard to understand, impossible to accept. crab salad was good, bluepoint oysters bland. calamari served with ketchup-based cocktail sauce instead of marinara - another strange mistake. tiramisu was excellent. they can and should do better for the price.
We just had a wonderful dinner lecture there last night in their private room. All of our dinner guests including ourselves loved the food and amazing service. My wife had the WILD Salmon and I enjoyed the Calamari Steak Dore sauteed in a wonderful lemon butter sauce. The ceasar salad is to die for! The owners Sandy and Maro treat you like family and you feel right at home. We highly recommend you dine at Lucetis and well be back tomorrow night with old friends celebrating a birthday! Cant wait!
