LHP Hotel River & SPA in Florence

This was our celebration of my daughter’s birthday and we stayed there for 5 days. It’s a beautiful hotel. Walking distance to all main attractions in the center of Florence.Hotel room was clean, small, but comfortable.Restaurant is of high quality: food was delicious.I would like to thank all staff of this lovely hotel, especially NATALIE and CATERINA for wonderful atmosphere which was created during our stay!We would definitely like to go back and spend more time in this beautiful hotel!!!

We would like to thank the entire staff of the hotel for accommodating us in every way possible, enabling a most enjoyable stay. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly, attentive and treated us like family. The renovation of the hotel from a monastery is incredibly well done. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major sites in Florence. We thank you all and look forward to visiting your beautiful city again!

Overall good but Wi-Fi in my room did not work and the reception did not solve the problem. Room is spotless, new, and bright with complimentary snacks. However, they did not refill any show gel even it had been almost run out.

Very disappointed in this hotel, from a 5 star hotel I really experienced more. The room was really small, wasn’t soundproof and the spa was small and only half accessible.It was really far from the city centre.

My fiancé and I found Hotel River very chic and charming, all the details are spotless.The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive.I went to the spa, a tiny but warm and cosy place with a sauna, shower and a warm bubble Jacuzzi, steamed bath (unfortunately closed due the covid rules at the moment but I plan to come back when they open soon). I felt pampered and spoiled from the staff, they use a 100% natural cosmetic italian products. I bought skin care products for myself and my fiancé, and he loves it!!!I should mention, they delivered a written welcome letter to our room, which was sweet. This is our Fiorentina home and we will be here every time I will visit Firenze.Grazie hotel river!

Hotel is really nice but do not even think about thinking about taking things from the Minibar. Without a pricelist in the room they charged 6 Euro for about 50g of peanuts.

Would definitely recommend! This hotel is beautiful, very modern and clean. The staff at the hotel really add that extra touch of luxury though, they were all very friendly and helpful and really made us feel looked after. I was very impressed with the housekeeping, we went out for dinner and came back to a remade bed and the bathroom had been cleaned again 🥰 we stayed in a junior suite with a hot tub on the balcony and the view was stunning. We only had a weekend in Florence but it was made 10 times better just because of this hotel. Great location, easy walking distance to all the main attractions. I have booked to stay here again next month!

A bit overrated.The good: Clean, modern room with helpful staff at the front. Breakfast buffet was OK.The bad: Walls and ceiling are made out of cheap materials and you can hear everything. Toilets flushing, doors slamming, people talking and unfortunately for us - couple above us having sex. Sigh.Furthermore, the shower stall has this weird modern design where it is basically open. So you will get water everywhere and then use towels to mop up the puddles. Very odd design choice.The A/C has a minimum temp and does not go below a certain point. Frustrating. Even though this is early October, still got hot. Cannot open the window as bugs come in (no screens), so we were quite warm and uncomfortable.The location is not great. You are 15-20 minute walk from all the major Florentine locations. Some reviews state this is a central location, central to what? Google it, get ready for walking, even the bus will take 17 minutes.Would not recommend.

Just returned after a three night stay at this lovely hotel. Wished we could of stayed longer. The hotel is right by the river and within easy walking distance to the main attractions. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The room was adequate for our needs and the breakfast had plenty to choose from. Its a fairly small hotel and has a very relaxing feeling about it. We would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to visiting again

Expensive hotel but it is not possible to park for a while. The parking is payable for 24 hours.

This hotel is on the outskirts of the central part of Florence (Firenzie), it takes about 10 minutes walk to get to the heart of the city. The bus or a taxi is the best way to reach the hotel from the train station: 1.50€ each on the bus, about 20€ for a taxi.The hotel itself is very well presented, very clean and the decor is black/white/steel. The reception team are fabulous, they speak excellent English and in the absence of a concierge, they offer great local knowledge about where to go and how to get there. The rooms again, very clean and ample size for our needs, the bathroom has no bath but a good shower, large sink and a bidet. We were shown around the hotels Spa facility which looked high quality but we dis not use as we focused on spending as much time as possible on the sightseeing.We will come back to Florence again in the future and we will look to stay at this hotel again if it is available.

Absolutely brilliant ,couldnt have asked for more all the staff went out of their way to help , very clean ,food excellent but we only booked bed /breakfast, would highly recommended this hotel .Hopefully be back very soon .see you then

Charming, loved this place. Whenever the staff makes me feel comfortable I feel great. We didnt get the best room, but it was still lovely, well probably a regret there as the double room would be the cherry on the cake, our stay was pleasant regardless.One complaint, milk for coffee in the room was not replenished... can live with that if its the worst thing I can think of.Anyhow, photos speak for them selves.

The location was good but not amazing, 10 minutes walking from the center of the city. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They helped us book restaurants, gave us some really good local tips and was communicating everything clearly and in English. We really liked the room it was nice, clean and spacious. The WiFi was not so great and we had to use our 4g internet almost the whole time

Youll be hard pressed to find a nicer hotel in a better location in all of Europe (for the price)! Weve travelled from Paris to Florence over the course of a week, staying in a number of different hotels and the Hotel River is by far the nicest!

The location was great and the hotel was all new inside. Very modern and sleek.

Brand new and one or two things need sorting but nice staff and great location so would recommend.

The internet does not work well, you need re-register all the time and the speed its very bad. They charge you $25 euro per night to park your car, which you can park yourself in the back street for free. The breakfast its average - the breads are dry because of the AC, the juicies have sugar - a lot of sugar. The accomodations are fine and the shower is very good. The entire was renovated months ago, so everything looks new.

I stayed here 2 years ago and loved it. I will come back. I stayed in superior room. Quiet location but not too far to walk to historical sites.

The staff very friendly, the location quiet and not too far to reach the sites on foot. The room clean, modern and fast WiFi. The breakfast excellent with a wide assortment. Very pleased with this hotel!!

This was my favorite hotel in that it was not too far from the center of town and my room was clean and comfortable. Sometimes the staff wasnt friendly, but the majority of the people at the front desk were willing to help me out with directions restaurants and points of interests.

There was a big marathon event around the hotel on the morning of check-out that I was not informed of. I was blocked in the hotel and couldn’t get out of the area, missing my flight back home. The hotel should have informed the guests that there would be an absence of transportation during the event, especially to those checking out on that date. Rebooking the flight for the next day cost a lot of money and also cost me a personal day. In my opinion, the least that the hotel could have done was to provide free accommodation for the additional night. However, I still had to pay for the room, although it was a reduced rate. Very disappointed in the poor planning by the hotel. At the least, they kept trying to help with getting a taxi.

Great staff but old out of date rooms unless youre into the old fashion feel. The pillows and bed was comfortable despite how old everything is.

With an inward facing room..... Quiet, clean and not far to bustops. About 20 mins to walk into the city.

Basic hotel. Not four stars. Rooms are dated and old. The centre of Florence is a 15 minutes walk from the hotel. No value for money.

Awesome views of Arno River and spacious rooms but 2nd worst customer service from a hotel Ive ever experienced in my last 20+ years of travel at over 30 different places. (The ultimate worst was at Hotel Demas Garni in Unterhaching, Germany.)Vacationed here 10 years ago with 9 other family members and the extreme rudeness we experienced from the employees at the front desk (with the exception of one man, Gabriel Vaccarois still seared into my memory, particularly there were two older men on the evening/night staff. My dad is diabetic and his insulin needs to be stored in a cool place like a refrigerator. While making reservations to this hotel, we were assured via email there would be no issues with us using their kitchen refrigerator for this, as there were no refrigerators in the rooms. During our thankfully short stay, those two men were very lazy and didnt like to leave their chairs or talk to anyone, grunting at us whenever wed ask for them to help with anything or store/retrieve the insulin. In fact, we went out late one night and came back to find one of them asleep at the desk. When we woke him to ask for the insulin, he was clearly irritated that we dared to wake him up.Also, our train was leaving early the morning we checked out and let the night guy know the night before to call a taxi and have it ready for us. No surprise, he hadnt done it so we nearly missed our train. Not only did he forget to do this one small thing, he was completely rude about finally getting to it.Breakfast was below average and bathrooms were tiny. The good things about Hotel River is the rooms were nice and the view of the Arno River was gorgeous. Theres also a rooftop overlooking the river that was open to all guests, however, there are guest rooms beside them so you have to be courteous of when you go and how loud you plan to be.If your trip at all involves a stay in Rome, I highly recommend staying at Les Chambres DOr Hotel. Delicious breakfast, best cappucino in Rome, wonderful location less than 10 minutes from the Vatican, and most importantly of all, their staff was impeccable. Hotel River needs to take a few lessons from them and I hope their management reads these reviews and has done something about the staff.

This hotel is all about location for a good price. What was good: + Location was really great. Everything was reachable by foot. + Room was well sized for a hotel in a European city. + Beds were nice. + Hotel had a lot of charme with its attrium and rooftop terrace. + Staff was nice and helpful. + Breakfast was nothing fancy, but good and tasty. + Rooms were reasonably clean (bathroom and beds were spotlessWhat was so-so: - Room showed sign of usage here and there. But on white laminate any usage is seen much earlier than in a hotel with carpet. - WiFi in the room was simply not working.

not really a four star hotel, I would say three. Separated beds for creating a double. Not wifi during our stay in the rooms. Perfect location.

The hotel management yelled at my group for making noise a 11:00 in the afternoon for playing our music. Also the rooms are not what the advertise on Google, Bing, and Yahoo. In reality this hotel is a complete waste of money and time, I do not recommend this hotel I hope it gets shut down and torn down into bits and pieces

We ordered the Junior suite, this is a very lovely room for a couple, the view of the river is a benefit. The service at the reception is great, pleasant and helpful.

Best stay in Florence that I had. Perfect distance to all the attractions in the city and for the visitors of the marathon ideal placed between start and finish position.

Average room. Staff not very helpful. Almost to the point of rudeness Our room did not look like any of those shown in the gallery. It was quite smaller than those shown. Location was good. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

We were here for holidays a couple of days. The hotel is situated at a good location. The building is historical with nice details. Nice rooms and clean.
When we want to leave there was a problem with our car. The police has dragged it away, because of a festivity! We didnt know anything about it. A small sign was missed by us. But with the very good help of the hotelmanager we got our car back in about 1,5 hour. He did the telephone calls, organized a taxi and drove with us to the other side of the town where the car was parked with a wheelclip and paid the half of the fine!

Entraram dentro do meu quarto, na minha ausência, abriram meu cobre e levaram meu dinheiro. Fiz uma denuncia na Policia Local em Florença, Italia. O Hotel da Rede Best Western não assumiu sua responsabilidade para com o cliente. O que demonstra a total falta de respeito com o turista e com o cliente que confiou em se hospedar neste tipo de Hotel. Ainda tenho esperanças que alguém nesta empresa demonstre um mínimo de respeito e consideração pelo cliente.RELATO EM INGLÊSOn April 9, 2013 I was robbed in a Best Western hotel network and was not refunded. Came into my room in my absence, opened my covers and took my money. I made a complaint at the Local Police in Florence, Italy. The Best Western Hotel Network did not take their responsibility to the client. This shows a total lack of respect for the tourist and the customer who relied on staying in this type of hotel. I still hope that someone in this company show a minimum of respect and consideration for the customer.
