LEWI Resort in Shashemene

Good location, good service, and friendly staff.The hotel is fairly good; its right on the water, and the rooms are well-kept and clean. The staff is also friendly and pleasant.There is still a lot of construction and renovation work going on, such as the swimming pool being repaired and spa services being unavailable.

The Best Feature is the open air Restaurant by the Lake.The mesmerizing view makes up for the other shortcomings.What else is needed if you can have a cup of coffee on a cold evening whole enjoying the sunset. Forget the exotic white sand and blue water. The Lewi resort restaurant area gives tough competition to its rival.The resort is teeming with cute little and big monkeys and some always hungry innocent cats. Be careful and dont try to be friendly with them.There are some flaws like some lights are not ok in the room or tv or slight smell by the lake and lots of flies in the evening by the lake.My suggestion is go to Lewis for the sole purpose of peaceful and relaxing stay and enjoy the nature by the lake.

I was there for just a day for a business reason and stayed with a couple of people. The first day we had issues because some things didn’t work in the room. When I talked to the manager Libelu about the issue he did everything thing to make up the wrongs of the pervious night. Just immersive how he handled my complaints and offered a solution. I had to stay one more night by myself and he abs his team made my stay unforgettable. The place is so beautiful and peaceful right at lake Hawassa. The food was great and the Ethiopian Coffee served with breakfast everything I needed for my short stay. I will be returning there soon and would send everyone who ask me where to stay there also to this place. Thank you Libelu for all the effort you made to make my unpleasant business stay Joyable!

Its one of the best resort in Hawasa ... Especially its rooms location being closer to the lake makes it exceptional. The service offers such us free boat ride and tour of the Hawasa city also makes it desirable.

I went to lewi resort to relax my self and it have a nice view. I ordered a mix juice and enjoyed it. But after that night was a terrible night i have been poisned by the juice and suffered a lot from diarhea and vomiting. I think they should care what they serve for their customers because Healthy food is the first thing to be considered than a beautiful hotel. I didnt expect this from this kind of big hotel.

For me the worst exprince ever ....they are saling preopened water everybody make sure when you ordered bottle water that it is not opened and even they didn"t want to change it.

The hotel by itself is excellent.the surroundings out side the hotel is not to the hotels standard. The hassel by the youngsters around the hotel and the park area is extremely uncomfortable.

Its perfect. Even if the spa is under maintenance, I and my family have loved the nature, topography and hospitality of the resort.

Lewi Resort provided a beautiful serene environment lavished with surrounding nature and a breathtaking view of the lake. I enjoyed the sunrise and sunsets, the friendly monkeys and watching the rare colobus monkeys. The hotel services were excellent too.

We really enjoyed our time here!The menu and food were great, whoever runs the kitchen is doing a great job!!No, its not a new resort, but everything in our room worked fine and was clean!On top of that the staff is very friendly and we saw hippos on the boat tour! 🙂 🙂The boat tour started from the resort, 200 Birr per person.

They have a nice terrace with lake view. They can organize boat tours on the lake. The resorts should definitely undergo a big maintenance and their rooms are so kitch...all white with that round bed. It took me 10 minutes of research to find the light switch, it was on a "console" on the beds headboard!! Could have been cleaner and the windows didnt close well, so no safe and with not working safe box in the room.

I sat with teammates to enjoy the sight of monkeys and cats also the view of the lake.

We didnt stay at the resort we just went around he lake Awassa. It was amazig to see hippos

The resort is nicely located at the lake in a beautiful garden setting with birds and monkeys. The interior is a bit worn and old but functions. Breakfast was good. Beware of many very cheeky monkeys just waiting to steal food from you!

We enjoyed a peaceful stay here. The staff was helpful, the monkeys were entertaining, and the grounds were a treasure to meander in. We enjoyed the restaurant/breakfast very much. Very nice place.

Great views of the lake and taste food...if you can keep the monkeys away! The service is spot on.

Right on the lake. Cool breezes. You can feed the monkeys as they climb down from the nearby trees and approach your table. Bird watching with dozens of species to view right in front of your lakeside table.

The resort is on the edge of Lake Hawassa. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, with a good wifi connection. The hotel service is also good. There are monkeys everywhere, which can sometimes be annoying, and a great variety of birds that is sure to make bird lovers smile. A boat is available to take people out on the lake to wake the hippos bathing.

Bad management in booking, shower wont drain...we were supposed to be booked for 5 days instead we were told to vacate with in a day, their reasoning is that they have people that are coming for a meeting. Shouldnt they be aware of this in advance, before booking us? Anyways the location with the monkey are the only good thing about this place.

Was nice to visit the lakefront restaurant for lunch. The food ok, a little pricey for the portions. Also, be on the lookout for table robbing monkeys that swoop into your table as soon as the bread basket touches down.

Lewi Resort is situated on the Hawassa lakeshore. Its greenery, quiteness, neatness and spacious compound makes you feel safe and relaxed.It was my first time to visit the Resort on June 10, 2018. Facing the lake and breathing the clean air coming from it renews your life. With ample parking, and quality cafe & restaurant services, I had a wonderful time there.I didnt use their rooms, but I was able to feel the silence and neatness.

Furniture is not nice and is crowded.You have to cross a whole lot of people (the main dining areato reach the spa and pool.Service is poor due to overcrowding of the place.

Quite and peaceful place to get detached from the busy life of cities! The view is another way to meditate in the beauty of nature along with the soft Ethiopian classical music in the background! Love it!!

This is the second time i have stayed here. It is a perfect location. Very accommodating. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. I cant say enough good about it. You can exchange money on site. It is rediculous how cheap it is to stay here. You have to get used to the idea that time isnt really relevant here, but it is Africa. Enjoy the experience. Appreciate the location. And dont spend all day here, get out and enjoy all that this city has to offer.

Good place to gather with friends and family while in Awassa, the lake view was amazing, food are average, and the price is pretty cheap.Reccomended visiting time: morning - afternoon.

I had visited the lake cafe only but it was amazing especially the lake view and the monkyes are around me everywhere but becarefull they may take your good from your table :)

Fantastic resort and a good place to host an event or convention. Only thing that was an issue was how early the bars closed. Will definitely be back, likely an overnight stay. Overall a great experience excluding the odd bar situation.

The natural views of the lake and all the sceneries of the vegetations and the cultural designs of the buildings are amazing. However the services and neatness of the reastaurants is deteriorating. The reastrooms close to the restaurants near the lake is so dirty, smells like horrible and the hand wash sinks are disgusting! There was no handsoap there and the flour was so moist and ugly. I do not recommend this place for people especially with young kids.

There is no resort matching it so far, almost everything is perfect. Loved it.

There is all of the thigs but the gim is so poor and the area is small,the traditional house is so interesting, the piano,climate,trees,monkeys,waitresses,restaurant are so good. Loved it

Nice resort. Tons of museums and places to checkout. The traditional Ethiopian house us very interesting.
