Attraction aimed at kids aged 3–10, including 4D cinema, LEGO models of local landmarks and rides.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester in Leek
Description
Privilege
I thought putting a 3hour restriction on the visit was not a good idea, as we didnt know this till we arrived. It was very basic, and my grandson of 7 years was probably the top age group. However, the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
MoreReally nice day out. Very good value for moneyThe staff were all friendly and helpful, considerate and patient with the children. The photographer had lots of energy, really good at encouraging the children to look at the camera. The Host on the Merlin ride was fantastic and Cara on Dots was very patient and friendly. There’s loads to do - you could spend all day if they let you!
MoreWe took our two children of 4 and 19 months. The experience is divided into different sections. These include two rides, explanations of how Lego is made. A room of models showing landmarks like the town hall, liver bird building and the Blackpool tower. Some of these have moving elements. There is a larger room with many activities in. There are places to build Lego and numerous ramps to test out self built cars. Theres also a 4d cinema showing a various times. Additional to these is some soft play areas for younger and older kids. Theres a separate under 5 area where they can go around on sit in cars. Finally theres a space themed room that leads to the shop.
MoreWe just went into the shop next door, its great if your children like lego as do my grandchildren
MoreFelt ripped off at £80 for a family. Place was hot, over crowded and dirty. There was very little to do for the kids, couple of bits of soft play, a few very tired building areas and a couple of average rides with queues too long for the kids to wait in. The 4d cinema was good, hence 2 not 1 star.
MoreBeen here a couple of times, many years apart, two young boys loved it but can be very expensive lots of little additional activities takes makes this an expensive experience when you start doing everything especially with more than one child and the place isn’t the biggest once your done your done. But I’m sure if you ask the kids they’d give it 5 stars, unfortunately I’m no longer 8 and everything for me isn’t free any more, although slightly better value getting tickets to sea life and here at the same time
MoreStaffs are friendly. Just a bit small inside. Recommend buy tickets in advance.
Nice place for the kids! Nice rides, great shows! Great place
Not well thought out at all for toddlers. The session is half taken up with their lunch and naptime, you cant take your own food in but you have to queue for ages to eat their truly horrible food. Staff not at all customer focussed. Could have been brilliant with just a bit of love, thought and care.
MoreWhat magical place this is, at first it just looks like a small Lego shop but when you buy a ticket and go through to the ride its amazing. Its so big, my son loved it as much me. Loads to do, they have food and drinks there.
MoreVery frustrating experience. Long wait to get in as no separation of those who have pre booked and those who are paying on the day.The play area is clearly understaffed, Lego all over the floor, the ramps in the car section not cleared up. This wasnt the case a few years back.Everything looks tired now, need a good refurb. Recent changes to remove Lego ride on cars with generic cosy coupes for toddlers a big down grade. The cafe had no gluten free meal options. I was told they had a couple of biscuits and was told "thats better than nothing" . Its not a coconut macaroon isnt what you would have for lunch. They offered to extend my wristband for an hour so I could go out and get some food and come back but ultimately that ruined the experience of the as battled through the busy exit route thinking wed come back to that area but once your out you dont want to queue up for half an hour to start the convoluted entry to the messy and tired play area.
MoreEnjoyed it and the few rides inside was a nice surprise. Good displays and lots to play with. Was quiet when we went and straight in.Had a nice couple hours there and happy there was a parent and toddler price, wouldnt like paying full price as wouldnt feel would be worth the cost.
MoreVisited with my 5 & 7 year old. Both loved it! We were there for about 2.5 hours. Loved that it was all under one roof in the Trafford centre too.
MoreVisited for the Adult Evening which happens on the first Friday of the month. This offered a nice way of visiting the attraction as a group of friends. The attraction itself is fun, and offers a couple of rides, 4D cinema, a small Mini-land as well as construction areas where you can build Lego creations. The activities that were put on as part of the adult night were fun, and added a competitive element to the evening - which was nice. The staff throughout the attraction were awesome. Really friendly and good at engaging visitors (even though we were all adults!)Overall a fun and unique evening out!
MoreIt was a great experience for my kids 2&4. 4 liked making a car and racing it down the ramp. The soft play area was a fun for 2.
MoreTook our 2.5 yr old using the Merlin BOGOF voucher at 10am on the last Sunday before the schools went back. There was no queue on arrival and had no issues booking in. It ended up being a really nice morning, our daughter really enjoyed the little tikes cars (a bit too much, couldnt get her off them), the kingdom quest game and the small soft play area. There was a pirate dance party that started later than advertised, but was led by a very enthusiastic guy. It wasnt so much a dance party as a photo opportunity, I dont think there actually was any dancing and the parents were a bit confused lol, but the kids loved it. We had two large costa coffees with soya milk at the cafe for a reasonable £6. Visited the toilets and they werent in a good way, however as we left a cleaner was rushing in armed with toilet paper and cleaning supplies. We left at 12.30, could have stayed longer but it did get very busy and our little one was melting down. The exit was fun, we had a mini dance party of our own. Appreciated the free Lego dots set and badge on the way out too. In previous reviews cleanliness was mentioned quite a lot and although yes, some of the models were a bit dusty, I have to say this is the first indoor kids play centre weve been to where we didnt all come down with colds/bugs after. I would agree that this place is better suited to 2-6 year olds, although there is a Ninjago soft play area for older kids that looked great.
MoreNever been before but cant wait to return. Had a great few hours with our 10 year old son. Lots of different things to keep all different ages entertained. Staff are very helpful and go out their way to make it enjoyable for the children.Cafe well stocked and clean.Toilets very clean and very accessible.
MoreThis place is lovely, we had a really nice day. The 4D cinema was really good and the cafe and food were lovely and really well priced. The staff were all really friendly and helpful.
MoreWent for a visit today wish we hadnt botherd...The baby change/ accessible toilet tap was broken and no toilet roll, the cafe menu was very limited so unfortunately we didnt eat,Got given a card but no explanation as to what to do with it, the stamps for the map didnt work at all.Was done seeing it all about an hour.Best part of the whole experience was the 2 minute ish vr.
MoreBrilliant place lots of things 2 do and the cinema experirnce is excellent
Would not go again. Lego displays were not great, looked old fashioned. No staff to be seen. No lego costume characters came out to meet the kids. Waited about an hour for a 2 minute ride so couldnt go on the 2nd ride or see the cinema. Overpriced. Find somewhere better with accommodating staff.
MoreWe could have spent many more hours in Legoland Discovery Center! My kids loved the free build as well as the rides, films and activities. The workshop I attended with my son was nice and calm. The only thing to improve would be the display the entrance to the 1st floor. It can aim higher and be a better introduction to a great space.I want to point out the incredibly friendly and kind staff at Legoland. Everyone was positive, knowledgeable about Lego and about the site and very friendly.
MoreSo I booked a dual ticket with the sealife centre. My daughter has just turned 8. Really enjoyed our morning here. The highlight for us was the medieval ride at the beginning and the 4D cinema. We went on the medieval ride twice (mainly to get a better photo but to also improve our scoresThere are lots of activities in the main room, the theme was pirates for our visit and you could build a pirate ship and then the section with the car building was lots of fun. The reasons I have given it 4 stars and not 5 are that I thought some of the staff could be a little more interacting and enthusiastic with the kids, the guy on the medieval ride was great and I only wish I had took his name to pass the feedback on. The 2nd reason was the VR experience I felt this was way over priced for the length of the experience. I was filmed on it and it lasted 1 minute and 46 seconds approximately and for £5 per person thats alot. The staff member on that ride couldnt have been less enthusiastic which didnt help our overall experience. If I had seen someone else go on first and how long it lasted I wouldnt have wasted my money.Overall I would recommend it as a place to go for lego crazy kids and adults.Just to add I think its wrong that its cashless across the whole site. Its unfair to force people into using a card when cash is legal tender.
MoreGood day out for kids. Lots of experiences including 4D cinema. Rides. VR. Soft play area. Toddler play area. And of course lots of lego models and legos to play with. Get a discounted ticket for cereal or drinks pack to make it good value.
MoreGood value for money, free lego set and dots bracelet. Lots of creative play and activities and VR experience and rides. Spend three hours there in total. Kids had a ball.
MoreWe enjoyed our morning at Legoland. I would recommend that this is for under 10s. It was quite in the morning but by lunch time but it was very busy. This place could be bigger and more. They could have more models and sections for older children. The creative station was good. However we struggled to hear her at times over the noise from outside. It would have hone better if she build it and had another member of staff to help her. Unfortunately the bag my daughter got did not have all the parts. This was sorted out but it took some time. Unsure if we will be back as my youngest is 9 and my older two struggled. You promote lego for anyone up to 99 years old, I think you should have areas for older children to be able to build and play.
MoreVery disappointed with our visit today, was expecting alot more to do. Took us just over an hour to get round it all and that was also getting food. At £85 for 2 adults and 1 child it really wasnt worth the money. The virtual reality machine that we paid the extra package for was no more than 2 minutes for £5 each, which I find expensive and the gift my child received was part of the package had pieces missing. The cafe didnt have much choice and was expensive too. It was also extremely hot in legoland and no air conditioning on to the point I had to leave because felt like I was going to pass out.All in all a very disappointing experience of which we were all really looking forward too
MoreCame here for my sons 8th birthday and he absolutely loved it. Lots for him to do and experience. The VR attraction was amazing felt like your actually on a roller-coaster. The 4D cinema was unbelievable the affects made it. Only downside slightly expensive for 3 hours given plus having something to eat and purchasing pictures.
More3 year old loved it. Pleasantly surprised how low crowd levels were for a weekend. Everything themed really well and staff friendly and pleasant.
MoreEnjoyed a few hours at the Lego Discovery at the Trafford Centre. The kids had a good time. Giving 3 stars based on a few points. Firstly the medieval shooting ride broke down half way so we needed to walk off. Secondly, some attractions seemed a little worn and could do with some tlc. Thirdly, most staff seemed to be going through the motions and looked bored.
MorePerfect place for children, we had great time 👍🏻
My kids had the best day! There was sooo much for them to do! We stayed for about 4 hours and my kids still didnt want to leave
MoreAfter visit to sealife and going for dinner we spent our afternoon in Lego discovery and the kids loved it.I love that there is now a great mix of stuff for older and younger kids. It’s perfect for toddlers too but a great little softplay, duplo area, and also a free play area with little tykes cars.Their is plenty of Lego and activities for older kids as well as a larger softplay area, rides, a Lego show and activities through out the day led by staff. We went on bank holiday and it wasn’t as busy as I was expecting. This is pram friendly, has a little onsite cafe and toilets are easy to get to.There is some upsell in the cafe for Lego items but it’s pretty well priced for its convenience.
MoreGreat place for kids. Not a lot to see for adults.
If the kids like Lego otherwise its wastage of money. Also nothing exploring there. Some slide and one train. Other than nothing inside. Go to the last entrance to reach there(Near cosco)
MoreLoved this place. Kids had lots of fun and because of the time slots not too crowded. Rides were good with very short waiting times and staff were all pleasant and helpful. Also........ its full of lego!!!! So whats Notton like 👍
MoreIt was our first visit and our children (3&5were very excited. They loved miniland, kingdom quest, space mision.4D cinema was good and car rides and earthquake tables were their favourite. It was nice day out with kids. Only thing which bothered me was dirt on your lego. I am sorry I know that people are touching it, but it was discusting! It was not just dust and it definitely was not just dirt from couple of days. So please if you use brush to clean it, that would be much of help....... My children will be happy to visit again in the future, but I am not sure abou it.......
MoreProbably one of the best places to take your little ones.Ticket purchased with sealife centre as a bundle so works out cheaper. The over all service with staff is great, really friendly staff & very welcoming. This place is jam packed with fun activities, factual information about lego land which you can read & see & play in the legoland factory. The detail in the environment to the lights was just heaven for children. They have so many areas you can take your kids for endless hours of play. Two soft play areas, mini cinema entry, make your own lego car & race on ramps. They have a car track with small running bikes for kids. They have a ride you can go on as a family.Really good choice of food & drinks, hot drinksPlenty of seating area for famalies, huge carpark outside. But i would advise to bring your own packed lunch as you will save money. Prices are always ridiculously high in places like this.Does get busy on a weekend so i advise weekday as youll have more time to do certain activities. They have lovely benny who is a legoland hero, if you know, you know. They do take a family photo at the beginning of the tour so thats nice. They have really cool sensory areas for toddlers. In all honesty my kids didnt want to leave this place. They have a instore legoland shopThroughout the whole place there are amazing lego sculptures.Over all very nice place to go, defo worth it it & will definitely return.
MoreWe’ve made multiple visits here and my son has always loved it. Wait at the start is pretty quick. To begin there’s an interacting ‘making Lego’ section. After this they have a ride. Then a small section with model Alton towers, Blackpool pleasure beach and Man City. It then opens up into a large free roam area with 2 soft play areas for inter kids. There’s a car marking section with ramps to test them. There’s another ride and a coffee room.
MoreGreat time for the kids with VR experience, short movies, soft play, a ride and of course lego building. Finding the ninjagos game :pictures attached so the kids dont miss out.
MoreWhat a fantastic place to go to and enjoy?! Even though some parts of the discovery centre were closed my kids had so much fun there! They could build endlessly and enjoy the results too. Well visit soon again! 😁
MoreVery good day out with lots to do. Ninja hunt, rides, several indoor soft play areas and lots of Lego making activities. Not very busy and plenty of space. A*** from us follow me on Instagram kellyxxoox or on Google maps for more reviews.
MoreA brilliant and exciting place for both little ones and big ones! The 4d cinema is a real pleasure and adds to the day.Staff were very friendly and engaging with my 6 year old son.Would definitely recommend people to visit as part of the Trafford Centre day out.Thank you Legoland!
MoreWas good for kids. But was expecting more organized activities.. Felt not worth for the cost. Staffs are doing good work. Cafe didnt have any hot drinks and very less options. Lighting in few areas have to be improved for kids to enjoy. Kids play area definitely lacked light. Okay for a rainy day.
MoreWould like to leave a very positive review of our visit we made oh Tuesday 3rd of August. First of all, we enjoyed our visit, our 2 year old absolutely loved it and we would return, but I would like to in particular give a staff member a massive thank you and praise. we had had a longer than planned journey to get to the centre, having travelled down from Sheffield on Monday and finding out that the trams were down on the day. We had to get a replacement bus and then another bus to take us to the centre. We also had our 5 month old with us who desperately needed feeding. I took her out of her pram whilst queueing up to have our tickets checked (we had booked for 1pm and arrived around half past). Well I suffer with really bad anxiety and my baby is breastfed, but needs must, as we had a very impatient toddler who was already losing her patience. A lady who was working in the shop (I thibk she had dark hair? Wearing a lego branded face mask), saw me feeding and came up to me and said "maam, you are SUPER WOMAN". Well that made my day, I had a little happy cry to myself. I just wanted to try and personally thank her from the bottom of my heart. We havent had the best journey with breastfeeding and up until she made that comment I was very anxious and aware that I was being looked at and could feel myself going red with embarrassment. Whoever you are, THANK YOU and I hope this message gets to you. We unfortunately live in a world where such topic is still a difficult one to talk about and you have given me the courage to be able to feed anywhere.
MoreWhat an experience! My son has complex additional needs and everyone was very helpful so that definitely made the day run smoother. To the lego! ... oh my goodness! So Im a self proclaimed nerd anyway but wow having somewhere for me and the kids to safely get our geek on was awesome there are so many little places to build and test your own creations!! And the display models are so detailed and such work has gone into them... we were blown away!! We will definitely be returning and my son hasnt stopped talking about his lego friends ❤ thank-you so much legoland crew members ❤
MoreCompared to other legoland park experiences, it is expensive for what you get included in your ticket. Need to pay extra for the VR ride. The gents urinals were almost overflowing. The shop itself would only take the physical VIP card, and not the username, so points could not be added on purchases.
MoreGreat place for day out with familyVery good for children. to me I think its good price for what you get
MoreWent with my daughter and 2 grandsons aged 9 & 7 its not the 1st time weve been as we absolutely love it. We all do the task at the start as its something good to be able to look for all the things that is on the list. We absolutely love the whole experience of going there.
MoreIt delighted my four year old daughter. I really enjoyed the beginning, the rides and the interactivity. I think Id have enjoyed it more if there was more of a route to take between the areas where the Duplo, ninjago, city etc locations are. It only takes a couple of hours to enjoy the whole thing. Its in a beautiful shopping centre though so therell always be plenty to do before and after.
